Sudden authorization / deauthorization issues

I await the lavish apology due to me and countless others for the fact that something - almost certainly the recent "Security Update" - has caused iTunes to have some kind of hemorrhage. It says my computer is not authorized to play all the music I have paid good money to download, but when I try to authorize my machine iTunes tells me "This computer is already authorized". Color me unimpressed.
And while we're at it, as others have written elsewhere on the web, what part of "DO NOT ASK ME THIS QUESTION AGAIN" does iTunes not understand?
Basically, can a tiny fraction of Apple's marketing budget please be plowed into funding some better coding? Thanks.

I agree 100%. I too have many songs that I spent money on and I can no longer play them. I have sent numerous emails to Apple and keep getting the same instruction on how to fix it! This is completely wrong and they need to do something about this.

I just finished transferring my songs from my 2nd Gen. iPod Nano and tried to play one of the songs. It told me that I had to authorize my computer so when I went in to authorize it, it says that I reached my limit (5). When I tried to unauthorize my computer, it says it was never authorized in the first place. Any way I can get around this issue?? I have any clue who I authorized... It was years ago!!!!

So, I bought a new Macbook Pro which i cannot authorize my itunes for. I don't even have the button indicated in the support section to authorize or deauthorize. I only have one device authorized to my account. I cant remember my security questions and cannot figure out how to change them; I think this might be the reason why i can't authorize my new device. The only way to access my itunes from my Mac is to have my iphone plugged in. Someone please help! I am a complete tard and would like to avoid a trip to the actual Apple store.

Call Apple Care for your country and request that they assist you in resetting the security questions.
To authorize/deauthorize a computer, go to the Store dropdown menu in the iTunes app.

Hi,
Ensure you have maintained the correct password, which MUST be the same, for all the service users
on XI. You may check all the places it should be maintained, such as Exchange Profile, SU01, SLDAPICUST, etc..
You may check the note below (according to your release version):

correct, it doesn't. you would see a photos tab if you connect an iPod Touch or iPhone in the summary tab of those devices.

it's not a button, it's a menu entry. click on the store menu in iTunes.

Error when trying to authorize/deauthorize itunes

I have searched and searched for help. I found some useful information, but none answered my problems 100%. The problem is: earlier today all of my itunes songs worked just fine then I downloaded 3 albums and now all of a sudden I get the following error message when trying to play any of my downloaded songs: "this computer is not authorized to play "xxxxxx" would you like to authorize it?" I then type in my ID and Password and it gives me this error message: "There was an error storing your authorization information on this computer....the required directory was not found or has a permissions error." I store my songs on an external drive so I go and check to see if the albums/songs I downloaded were saved correctly, which they were. I then go to the 'store' and I try to deauthorize, but I am unable to and it gives me the same error message 'there was an error storing your information'...I am stumped. I have tried just about everything. what am I doing wrong? I am beyond angry.

Have you solved this problem yet? This is the EXACT problem I am having!!! This just started after I upgraded to 10.5.2. Please Help!!!

Itunes deauthorization issues...

I have I tunes installed on my work pc, laptop and home pc. i, however, have 4 OS on my laptop and like to share my music between them...when i first started using itunes, i didn't realize that in order to deauthorize a computer you had to do it FROM the computer itself and you couldn't just log into your account to do this. i had my laptop crash once and lost 4 of the 5 'machines' that itunes had been authorized on. i used the global computer reset (which i just found out you can only use once a year...) and so since my laptop crashed again, i am again stuck with being unable to deauthorize my computers. It said i have to wait until Febuary 2008. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. i think the whole 'authorizing/deauthorizing' thing is really stupid that you have to do it from the machine in question. You should be able to manage it all from a central location in case issues like this should crop up.

The iTunes team may make an exception and deauthorize everything for you. It's worth a shot. Email them:

Authorization/Deauthorization Questions

Mine is a story of woe & bad computer luck. I have gone through several desktop/laptop computers in a relatively short time and have installed iTunes on each of these units. Some of these are no longer accessible to me due to issues of harddrive failure and so on. I would like to know if there is a way to deauthorize these inactive computers without actually accessing them and without deauthorizing my current computers; if this is not possible, is it then possible to select the "Deauthorize All" option and then reauthorize my current ones, or is it a one-time deal for authorization? Any help would be much appreciated!

There wouldn't be any way to de-authorize a computer you don't have access to anymore without choosing 'De-authorize All'
However, you will be able to authorize the computer again by either playing a purchased song and entering the username and password, or by going along the top of the screen in iTunes and choosing Store>Authorize Computer.

Analysis Authorization - Assignment Issue

Created a analysis auth: and assigned the same to one user. But the issue is that the assignment holds true for all the users. how can i make it assigned to one single user? Is this suppose to work this way or am i assuming things?

Authorize-deauthorize circle

Another member of my household recently purchased a 15" MacBook Pro POST mid-2010, that is, a laptop whose mini displayport outputs audio as well as video. I would like to display the videos purchased in iTunes from his laptop to our HDTV. We have the right cable for mini displayport to HDMI, and it works just fine. HOWEVER, I cannot authorize his computer on my iTunes account.
When I try to authorize his computer, the error message is like Cannot find the required file or its permissions may be bad, either find the file and fix the permissions or deauthorize the computer.
When I try to deauthorize his computer, the SAME message displays. Hence, I cannot deauthorize his computer. There is no indication of what the file is that it needs, where it is, or what its permissions should be.
Thus, I seem to be in an endless circle. The deauthorization keeps telling me to deauthorize but will not let me do it.
My account has only 3 computers authorized.
How do I fix this problem?

Sudden MTS File Issues

I have been editing MTS files (AVCHD) from a Panasonic GH2 (Some hacked some stock firmware) for over 2 years with little to no issues. I am using the CS5.5 Master Collection, Premiere Pro in this case, on a 3 year old Sager laptop (64-bit, i-7 720qm, 8GB RAM, 2 internal HDDs, nVidia GeForce GTX 285M). I am not sure if I am having hardware issues or a corrupt file but something is not right.
I am now in the middle of a project and all of the sudden my computer is VERY sluggish and it takes minutes before things update (such as scrolling in my timeline to a different frame) and sometimes it just freezes up all together. There is also an issue (could be related) with the second set of spanned clips (detailed below) from this project.
The timeline is DV 24P widescreen since it is going to DVD and also uses footage shot from a DVX100b for cutaways. The GH2 footage was all shot with stock firmware 1.1 at 24H, all shot on one day and the first recording time was just shy of an hour, then about 20 minutes and then another for about an hour. This produced 3 mts files for the first section, 1 solo file for the short section and 4 files for the last long section. I copied the whole card to my D drive without altering any of the folder structure like a good boy. I brought in the clips to the project window and had no issues with editing the first hour section. I will say that I did not use the media browser as I have learned recently is the preferred way to import these clips. For the last 2 years I have dragged and dropped using the windows explorer window and have not had any issues until now. I have dealt with spanned clips, a music video hat required over ten video tracks and much higher bit rates so I am not sure what the trigger is for these issues. What is odd about the second longer clip is that when the first clip is dragged in to the timeline( 00004), it only brings that clip, not the others that should be attached. The first section worked but not this one. And all of the files that follow this clip are numbered differently but look identical to (00004) when dragged to the timeline. They all appear normal in explorer (smaller clips that should be spanned together) so the footage is in tact, just not in PP.
I experimented a little and copied clip 0005 into it's own folder, dragged it in and it then displayed properly (not a copy of 00004). The sluggish issue is still there so I am not ready to just grin and bear it with this workaround. I also experimented by creating a brand new project, copying the original footage from my archive drive (never imported into a timeline so no xmp files) into a new folder and used media browser to bring in the footage. It didn't show clips 00005 and up since the media browser is only supposed to show the first of the spanned clips but it was still only 24 minutes long and obviously not including the rest of the clips. MEdia browser recognizes these clips are supposed to be together, but PP is seeing them all as copies of 00005.
I will greatly appreciate any opinions but bear in mind that I have used this same workflow on this same system for over 2 years. The only variable is that these spanned clips may be slightly longer than I have used in the past but not by much. I really don't know if there is a peice of hardware malfunctioning, if the clip is somehow corrupt or if I am missing something obvious.
What coulod cause this sudden change in performance? Would editing with a proxy help? Should I convert this trouble clip to a different format? Am I asking too much of my system? Are there ways to check if my computer is functioning properly?

I wanted to give a quick update on this MTS file issue. I was able to get my system back to normal by isolating the trouble files in their own folders outside of the "Private" folder(the actual source files, not in the premiere project). I copied the first clip of the group into a folder by itself and the last 3 clips into another folder. I deleted the originals from premiere and imported (dragging and dropping from windows, not using media browser) the isolated files and they worked fine. Obviously they were now 4 independent files that I had to place side by side in the timeline but they lined up and there is no more lag in the system and there are no more duplicate files.
Far from conventional but it has me editing again and I didn't have to buy a new computer to be back in business. I can only guess that something glitched when it was conforming and it wouldn't recognize the spanned clips.
A special thanks to Eric at ADK for offering some suggestions that I fortunately didn't have to try.

ISE - Authorization Profile issue

I'm running a trial of ISE and I'm attempting to create the authorization profile with the following settings:
Name: Posture_Remediation
Access Type: Access_Accept
Common Tools:
Posture Discovery, Enabled
Posture Discovery, ACL ACL-POSTURE-REDIRECT

The issue is that I do not see a Posture Discovery option in the Common Tasks area. Can I add these the attributes using the Advanced Attributes settings or is there something I need to enable to display the Posture Discovery option within Common Tasks?

To create a new authorization policy, complete the following steps:
Step 1 Choose Policy > Authorization > Standard.
Step 2 Click to select either Insert New Rule Above or Insert New Rule Below.
A new policy entry appears in the position you designated in the Standard panel of the Authorization Policy window.
Step 3 Enter values for the following authorization policy fields:
•Rule Name—You need to define a rule name for the new policy.
•Identity Groups—Choose a name for the identity group that you want associated with the policy.
–Click + ("plus" sign) next to the word "Any" to display a drop-down list of group choices, or choose Any for the policy for this identity group to include all users.
•Condition(s)—Choose the types of conditions or attributes for the identity group associated with the policy. Click + next to Condition(s) to display the following list of condition and attribute choices that you can configure:
–Select a Condition Name option from the drop-down list (Simple Conditions, Compound Conditions, or Time and Date Conditions) as needed.
–Select one of the Attribute options as needed. This displays a list of dictionaries that contain specific attributes related to the dictionary type.

I've assigned "admin control" authorization scheme to page9 and changed authentication to "page requires authentication"
After loginto my system through networkid which is assigned to ADMIN role when I run login page(101) I'm unable to access page 9.Can't I test this in standalone mode in dev instance?For ex:my userid is in user_role table with a role of admin why I can't see that page?

I'm trying to implement this authorization scheme for the first time for this UI.
Previous scenario:User needs to login so login page will be displayed automatically
Current scenario:User comes to login screen which is a dummy page without any items or regions and I've created process (on load before header process code mentioned above)which will check the network user's role and branch to corresponding page
Why is there a login page if you have an sso facility?
There is no login page as such but it's common intermediary page for all users which is not displayed but automatically directed to their corresponding page based on the process (on load before header process code mentioned above)
Is there a login page designated as the Session Not Valid Page in the authentication scheme?

I've three roles for users :admin,edit,view and it's stored in user_roles table,user with role view can access only his page and user with edit can access all view pages as well as his pages,admin can access all pages.Then next issue is how to test this without using active directory in dev instance by adding security to corresponding pages(ex:admin control,page requires authentication)

OIM 11g - User Management Authorization policy issues

Hello,
1) Created an organization -> Human Resource
2) Created an Role -> HR_Admins
3) Assigned HR_Admins roles as administrative role of Human Resource organization
4) Created user1 with organization as Human Resource & Assigned HR_Admins role to this user.
5) Created authorization policy for user management with following selections
Permission -> Create User.
Data Constraints -> Selected "Users that are members of selected Organizations" & selected above Human Resource organization.
Assignment -> HR_Admins role .
now when i log into user1 i am not able to see Administration tab where i can select Create user.
I am working on this issue for couple of days ,but not able to find the solution & have i missed some configurations ?

I have tested your scenarion.. with below clause
1) Created an organization -> Human Resource
2) Created an Role -> HR_Admins
3) Assigned HR_Admins roles as administrative role of Human Resource organization
4) Created user1 with organization as Human Resource & Assigned HR_Admins role to this user. : default role All Users
5) Created authorization policy for user management with following selections
Permission -> Create User. :- *"Select ALL"*
Data Constraints -> Selected "Users that are members of selected Organizations" & selected above Human Resource organization.
Assignment -> HR_Admins role .
In data constraints
Organization Security Setting Hierarchy Aware (include all Child Organizations)
Now I am able to see the create user tab and, I can create user in Human Resource org only.
If it doesn't work for you. Just assign "REQUEST ADMINISTRATOR" IN AUTH POLICY. Test the result.
Also what is your OIM version?
Test it with fresh data like new role name, org and user,

Hi Brian,
I did settings for Database and SFTP only. The advanced setting on "new cloud connection" screen fills automatically. when I tried to remove the advanced setting such as host name, port, server path and service name. then it is asking for hostname.
After doing all the steps i am facing the same issue of " HTTP/1.1 407 Proxy Authorization Required".
Could you please help me to resolve the issue?

Did you set up your HTTP Proxies inside of the settings in SQL Developer? Does the particular database you are attempting to access, does the proxy server need authentication? Again, check the http proxy options in sql developer.
