Sudden blackouts

I'm having sudden blackouts of my iMac. The power button remains on and it goes off keeping it pressed for some seconds. After a blackout it does not restart until about 15 minutes after, till now. I restarted pram to no avail.
Any suggestion will be appreciated.
iMac G3 Snow   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   700 MHz, RAM 768 MB, HD 60 GB

I folded the foot forward as David Jenson suggested and the problem seemed solved for a few weeks, but then the SSD came back; about 30 minutes after starting, and again and again.
I took my computer to a technician specialized in Macs and after revision he said he had the iMac working for 48 hours without a single sudden shut-down, so he did nothing. I thought the problem was due to my power outlet and, as a test, I connected the computer to another outlet where I have another iMac (333MHz, tray loading) working fine, but the Snow iMac shut down after 45 minutes, just the same.
Could help a voltage regulator? (I'm not using one).
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

My Iphone 4 suddenly blackout and restart by itself. After that it reach the restore screen. Tried to do restore but it come out Error (9). Anyone can help?
I tried to restore in normal mode and DFU mode, both of it still give me error (9).
I tried using other cable and computer but it still the same.
Anyone out there having the same issue that can share?
Is this a hardware or software issue? My warranty already over and have to solve this problem by myself.
    Please help.

Did you check your security software settings?
Error 9: This error occurs when the device unexpectedly drops off the USB bus and communication stops. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB isolation troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

  • Sudden blackout playing mpeg2 media file

I'm experiencing an odd behaviour from frontrow under Snow Leopard 10.6.2.
When I start playing a mpeg2 stream from within frontrow, the mpeg2 component is correctly installed, the stream suddendly goes black for half a second and then continues to play, till the same black out happens again. The frequency is quite high: the screen goes black every two minutes for just a blink of an eye.
This is what console reports about frontrow process:

I really can't say if I've installed the latest apple quicktime mpeg2 component: the get info windows from the Finder reports "version 1.0.1".
I also installed Perian 1.2 and the latest version of Flip4Mac, but I think that can hardly be their guilt.
    Any help is appreciated.

I realize that mine it's not a common issue. Can someone at least tell me which is the latest version of the Apple mpeg2 playback component? Actually I tried to download again the .dmg from my account on the store but the option was dimmed. I would like to know if does it worth it to ask for Applestore support assistance or not.

  • Random blackout atfer upgrading to xorg 1.6?

OK, I'm not very sure if this is related to xorg, here is the situation:
After upgrading to xorg 1.6, I restart X and start firefox to surf the internet,
atfer a few hours of usage, my screen suddenly blackouts, and it seems like a hard crash,
I can't use crtl-alt-backspace to kill X nor use crtl-alt-Fn to switch between virtual consoles,
this is very frustrating since I'm always very proud of my super-rock-solid Arch,
I have NEVER had issue like this, since it happens after upgrading to xorg 1.6,
I suspect the incident is related to it,
does anyone have a similiar situation?
any suggests or thoughts would be very appriciated.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
When you connect an external display, the dedicated GPU is used. This GPU generates more heat and needs more power, being this probably the reason why your Mac is hot. It also depends on the applications you use, but in this case, I do not find any application that takes a lot of processor and RAM.
Anyway, those temperatures are still not dangerous. Fans should be working to decrease the temperature.

  • Complaint Letter to BlackBerry due to the very rude service I have received in your service center in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

To BlackBerry Malaysia, BlackBerry International and Brightstar Corp,
On the 17th of October 2013 (2:44:27 PM), I’ve sent in my BlackBerry 9810 for service of the track pad with the work order (WO621039) and serial number ([removed]) at your BlackBerry Expert Center by IXSUN Sdn Bhd (Lot L2-19A, Level 2, Tropicana City Mall, No.3, Jalan SS20/27, 47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia).
At the same time I have ordered 2 pieces of F-S1 battery pack as there wasn’t any ready stock for me to replace another 2 of my BlackBerry 9810 as I am having 4 BlackBerry 9810 within the family member. Back on the 17th of October, I was told that the stock will be arriving by the time my phone is ready to collect. On the date of November 3, 2013 approximately 9:05 PM I came to the service center to collect my phone as I was told that it is ready to be collect. After getting my phone back, I was told that the battery pack is still out of stock by their service personal with the name of ANG CHUN SIANG.
I told him that his colleague assured me that the stock will be arriving by the time my phone is ready to be collect, so how long more do I need to wait for the battery pack to arrive. He then told me that the F-S1 battery pack has run out of stock in Malaysia. I then ask him whether the Blackberry Malaysia distributor of Brightstar Corp bringing in from overseas will. He firmly told me by rising up his voice telling me that IT IS OUT OF STOCK WORLDWIDE, maybe BlackBerry has discontinued this product as it is for an older model phone.
I say: “My phone is still functioning well, just that the battery is out of order as it doesn’t last at all, I will run out of battery every 2-3 hours after per fully charge, or it will suddenly blackout saying that battery is out where the indicators show that I still have half of the battery. If BlackBerry discontinued the product what should I do with my phone, does it mean I need to change a brand new phone?”
He replied: “If you want to change your phone, then change all your BlackBerry phone away.” (In a very rude manner and loud volume).
Although all 4 of my BlackBerry 9810 are still under warranty, I understand that the battery lifespan is not covered under the warranty. Me as a user, ordered 2 new battery pack to replace the existing battery. I am willing to pay RM168 each for the new battery. I am not asking for a replacement or wanting to claim under the warranty for the battery.  But because of BlackBerry and Brighstar Corp failed to provide the battery packfor me, I am told by your BlackBerry Expert Center staff to change away my entire BlackBerry phones that I am having. Bare in mind that my family member are users of 8 BlackBerry phone which includes BlackBerry with 4 BlackBerry Torch 9810, 1 BlackBerry Bold 9780, 1 BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 1 BlackBerry Z10.
I felt very offended and insulted that after supporting BlackBerry product for so many years, for the first time I have the feeling of looking into other brand of smartphones. Because of the existing battery pack are out of order, I had told to change all my useable phone to brand new smartphones away when I can continue using my phone without facing any issue by just changing the battery pack. By spending a merely RM168 each for the new battery pack then I can continue enjoy using my BlackBerry 9810 smartphones, but unfortunately I was told to spend thousands of money to buy a brand new smartphones. I am very disappointed at the service provided by your authorized BlackBerry Expert Center, as a loyal Blackberry supporter, I guess I know why the sales of BlackBerry has been dropping because their own dealer are chasing their customer away.
I strongly urge the BlackBerry Malaysia, BlackBerry International and Brightstar Corp look serious into this manner and pay high attention in this issue. Prompt investigation are highly appreciated. You can reach me anytime at [personal information removed]. I am looking forward for reply from any parties that are related and involved directly or indirectly.
    Regards,
    Nigel

  • IPhoto editing results in black patches on photos - new problem

Hello everyone - I am experiencing a brand new problem with iPhoto editing.  Have used the editing feature for four years without incident.  Since upgrading operating software a few weeks ago, I now experience sudden blackout patches on photos as soon as I click on the "Adjust" setting in the "Edit" mode.
Here are a few details on my set-up and problem:
    iPhoto version: iPhoto'09 - Version 8.1.2
    Operating System: OSX Version 10.9.1
Details - Black rectangular patches appear in either sections of photos, or completely obscure the photo whenever I click on "Adjust" in the "Edit" mode.  Only way out of this situation is to hit "Escape" key
Did it every work properly?  Yes, for four years I never had any problems.  Liked the ease of the editing features in iPhoto.  Very recently upgraded operating system to version noted above.  Problem occurring since that time.
    Error message? No
What steps taken to date? None yet - Seeking assistance through this forum.  Thanks in advance.

    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    Post back with the result.

  • Ipad stuck on logo and a command prompt shows up and then freeze.

my Ipad suddenly blackout, the screen is totally black but the backlight is still on, i can't seem to shut it down even I press the power buttons in a long period of time, then I waited more than a day until it runs out of battery to shut down itself. when I turn it on the apple logo show up the the backlight becomes dim and a command prompt shows up on the screen at left corner, then it restart and keep doing on and on until the apple logo only pops out the freeze and a couple of minutes later it backs-out and have to wait for it to runs out battery again. pls. help.

Your iPad probably might to be serviced or replaced. I don't think that there is much in the way of troubleshooting that you can do other than to restore to factory settings. You will end a computer running iTunes in order to restore to factory settings. If you can't attempt this for whatever reason, make an appointment at an Apple Store and ask for their help.
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

I didn't see anything there that was specifically for Mavericks, but I did a clean install. And I'm still getting the sudden blackout followed by the prompt to restart. It seems to happen the most when I'm using iPhoto or otherwise dealing with photos, but it also happens when I'm just checking email on Chrome.
    FWIW, here's the log:

  • Help!!! Computer died and soon will be the owner....

    Help!! Help!!
    System died and need help..
System used to work seamlessly but 2 days back something happened. When working on the pc half way through, system resets itself (like someone pressed the reset button). Quite often, thought was virus attack.. update my norton and scanned throughly --> No Virus Detected. Panic sets in and check bios... nothing was changed as b4..
Doomsday --- still trying to find the fault and all the sudden blackout.. System resets but constant in black screen ,cd-rom drive blinks as normal, cooler fan running, but harddisk no motion at all. D bracket shows memory error(ram?). Tried removing all PCI cards and cables to cdrom and floppy, remaining only motherboard( K7T266 Pro2 ), CPU ( athlon xp 1600+ ), video card ( nvidea 64 mb ) and 256mb DDR ram.
Pray it will work.. but it didn't.... D Bracket still shows same fault, removed ram and try booting up still same problem and shows same fault..
Can anyone out there help with advise?? Really appreciate.. Cos going crazy without my computer.. Thanks Thanks!!!
     ;( [size=15]

I did... all the 3 slots gave me the same response..
Shouldn't be my power supply for it been working for 1 year plus already... now guess my concern would be the ram, motherboard and harddisk...
    haiz.. a major headache..

Turn off your laptop, unplug all wires, remove the battery, and hold the power button for thirty seconds. Afterwards, reattach the battery and connections. If it still won't start, remove the battery and start with just the AC power. Next try without the AC power and just the battery.
