Sudden burst of vibration while charging

At the end of my work day, I connect my iPhone 5s to my computer using a high current USB 3.0 port for charging. I've noticed over time that the phone will suddenly wake up showing the home screen and vibrate twice. If I check the device I cannot find any new notifications or similar to account for why it decides to exit sleeping. I've looked over settings, but with ios 8 there are just too many settings/app controls to locate the cause. For a while I thought this was happening when the phone reaches a 100% charge - sort of an "I'm charged, you can unplug me now" kind of notice.
Can anybody suggest why this behavior is happening.  Thanks.

I've been playing with this for several hours. I can make it do it if I peg the memory use (not hard) and then do something like make a window go full-screen or anything that causes the bluetooth to glitch or pause. I got it to do it watching a YouTube video on full-screen, and then when I un-fullscreened, it blasted static. (So it's not just iTunes.) It appears to be the bluetooth, somehow.
Under Mavericks, this never happened. But Yosemite does it a good portion of the time. Makes the headphones absolutely unusable.

  • Strange vibrations while charging

My mother bought herself an 8Gb 2nd gen iPod touch for christmas, and has been using it non stop every day, even while charging (using an Apple branded USB ac power adapter)
Today while she was playing "Trism" (her favourite game). I happened to touch her hand, and noticed a strange vibration feeling (it's very hard to describe, not like a mobile phone vibrate, but more subtle) when the USB cable was disconnected, the vibration stopped.
My mother is now very worried and so I would love any help as to whether she should take it back, what's actually going on, or whether others have noticed this, (I personally haven't noticed it on my 1st gen 32Gb iPod touch)
    Thanks in advance.^^

Mine does this too it feels like electrisity and tingles my hands. I think I has to do with the USB cable though because the tip of it it is also vibrating. It could be leaking electrisity and then the case of the iPod is conducting it.

  • Vibrations while charging

    Good morning, all.
Hopefully some of you who know more about these things than I do can give me some good advice.
I recently moved to Barcelona for a few months and noticed that when I plug my 15 inch powerbook in to charge that I feel a very subtle vibration when I rub my fingers across the aluminum surface. When I unplug, the vibration isn't there and I never noticed this charging it at home in the US. Is this normal? Something to worry or be paranoid about?
Otherwise, it seems to be charging fine and it's working as beautifully as usual. But this being the first time I've used this Powerbook abroad, the older building I'm living in, and the need to use extension cords to plug into the few outlets in my apartment make me nervous. I left it plugged in yesterday while I was out and ended up returning home early just because it started worrying me.
Thanks in advance for the reponses. Hopefully, you'll tell me it's nothing to worry about!

Let me just start by saying that it is in fact nothing to worry about. No harm can come to your computer, nor yourself, from this.
I believe it's something to do with the lack of the ground and the fact that the PowerBook is Aluminium. You can actually test it by the way you "close" the circuit. Try lifting your feet off the ground or changing the shoes you're wearing (or not).
I suffer from the same "problem" and have found it to be 1000% better when you connect your PowerBook via a UPS. A proper ground wire installed in your home/building helps as well although in Spain is it not mandatory for older buildings to install one. New building yes and if electrical works are done the upgrade is required. Apart from that you're pretty much stuck.

Sorry, but if you see the "connect to iTunes" screen on your phone, the only option is to restore, backing up the phone is not possible at this point, even importing the photos might not work anymore.

  • Feeling electric shock while charging Mac book Pro

    Hai everyone!
i just bought a Mac bookPro 15 inch 2.53 Ghz.
i am feeling a mild tingling/ vibrating shock while charging my mac book pro. i can feel the sensation all over the aluminium unibody part- especially while using the Mac book as well as charging it at the same time. is it Earthing/ grounding problem? or is it any voltage problem? or is it any problem with my Mac Book Pro?
    Thanks and Regards
    Chaitanya.A

"I bought my laptop from the US, but i am using it in Spain , with the aid of a plug converter (3 pong to 2 European one)...
"1) is this problem i am experiencing due to the plug converter?"
Yes and no. Outside of the US, the AC line voltage is twice as high, and that's why people outside of the US generally experience the "shock". If you use a 3-prong plug adapter inserted in a properly-grounded AC outlet, the problem will be resolved.
"2) I am staying in student resident, and so i doubt that the MBP is not properly grounded.. That would be dangerous, no??"
If you are using a 2-prong prong adapter, your unit is not properly grounded. Using an improperly grounded computer is not dangerous.
"3) Aside from being extremely annoying sensation, is it bad for the laptop??"
    No.
"Because if not, i can always use another keyboard.."
You mean, "if it IS" a problem , you can use another keyboard. Using another keyboard is does not change the grouping scheme of the computer.
"I am not saying whose fault this is, but i only felt this shock with the mac book pro (15 inch).. i owned a power book and a 13 in mac book, and never felt a shock like this before... Could it be because of the placement of the battery on the laptop?"
No, it's because you're using a metal-cased computer, at a high AC input voltage.

  • IPhone 4 disconnecting while charging (different chargers)

    Hello,
My iPhone 4 has two seperate apple branded chargers and it has had a problem changing on both.  It will charge fine sometimes but others it will connect/disconnect repeatedly and vibrate while it is doing it.  I have checked the connections on the cords but nothing seems loose.
Occasionally it will give me a error that it does not recognize the charge cord.  Do I have two fauly cords or is my iPhone the problem?
    Version 4.3.3
    Thank you,
    Rayvin

I plugged it into one of the cords this afternoon (that it has charged fine from before at times and flickered in it's connection at others) and I received a "Charging is not supported with this accessory" error.   I reset the iphone 4 and it is not charging without errors.   But I have reset before only to have this come back.   Is there a permanent fix?
    Thank you.

  • My iPad gives off a strange vibration when charging, is this safe?

I charge my iPad 3 almost daily, and when I use it while charging I feel a slight vibration coming from it. I wasn't too concerned until I noticed that if I touch my partner while using it, I can feel the same vibration. Is this normal? It's worrying me!

Not normal. Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

  • Is it dangerous using macbook pro while charging?

Hi,did anyone experienced any electric issue when using macbook pro unibody while charging? When I use it during the recharge process the electricity pass trough my body.I can say that because one day when I was using it (with the hands on the keyboard) my girlfriend came and touched my face moving her hands on my cheeks and I felt a weird sensation like a vibration on my face so I unplugged the power cord leaving the hands on the keyboard (with palms near the trackpad) and I didnt feel it anymore. It is known that the electric fields can cause cancer.Am I in danger?I don't think it is a good thing that electricity pass trough my body anyway. There is any way to fix this problem?(a part of not using it while connected to the wall charger).Thank you

Some people are more sensative to EMF's then others. If there is a bad connection in your house or in your computer, then you may experience this more then others.
My guess is your house may have some faulty wiring somewhere and needs to be addressed. Get an EMF detector and see if you get spikes in the area of where your plug in your computer. Or rather, call an electrician who can check for these spikes around your house. Some houses, especially older ones, will have electrical problems, but even newer ones can have these since someitmes the laborer who installed it didn't know what they were doing or didn't bother checking.
get a surge protector for your electronics, especially your computer deivces.

  • RMBP Heat Issues while charging

    Hello,
When my 15" rMBP's charger is plugged in, I'm getting a sudden high rise of temperature.
I have included images from Temperature Monitor below:

    After 60s While Charging:
I don't understand why my CPU cores are heating up so much (almost doubling in temperature) from just charging?
    Please advise?

Having the lid closed while charging actually results in a LOWER temperature.
And no, I'm not running any heavy processes or using discrete graphics.

    thnak you,

    That happens to some:
    - Try another cable
    - Try another charging source
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Disable sound and/or vibration while in Messages app?!

    Hi!
I would like to know is there some option in the iOS where I could disable sounds and vibration while I'm using Messages app (app is open and the display is turned ON and I can see the message I recieved). This is very annoying when I'm using iMessages and getting a message every few seconds and then my phone vibrates constantly. It is of course OK if I'm not in Messages app but when I'm already using it I don't need a notification I got a message when I can see it for myself.

I'm having the exact same problem. I get a random text message ding for no discernible reason at least oncer per day. No alerts from apps, no email, no texts, no missed calls, no voicemails. It's not changing connection types between wifi, 3G, and edge. I know that the first gen iPhones sometimes dinged in that situation. If anyone knows what's causing this I would love to hear it.
Just to be clear I'm using a perfectly normal, not jailbroken, iPhone 4 running the latest software version.
    Regards,
    John G.
