Sudden change in tempo when editing voice recording

Hi,
am working on a podcast and doing minor voice editing. When clipping out a section (such as cough or sneeze) and rejoining the remaining portions, I inadvertently get a change in pitch (and tempo) of the remaining recoding segment (not the one before the cut). How can stop this from happening, and how can I recover from the change once it's happened?

I did not adequately study flex editing before digging in to edit my audio file.
I think I now know how to prevent the recurrence of this problem.
Is there a way to reverse it once it happens?

Error when edit multiple records in a details table

Hi,
I have a requirement to provide forms like details table which allows user to add new rows or edit rows in the same page and same table.
My page is SetObjectivesPG under /oracle/apps/per/wpm/objectives/webui/
I embeded my custom region in the standard page which allows user to add or edit in same table like forms.
I can able to create mutlple records, and i'll save once I created all the records I want. But when I edit it is not allowing me to do multiple without committing each changes.
I'm getting the following error:
Unable to perform transaction on the record.
Cause: The record contains stale data. The record has been modified by another user.
Action: Cancel the transaction and re-query the record to get the new data.
Please give suggestions to solve this issue.

Is there any specific reason that you are using 'Row.STATUS_NEW' ?
Comment that line and instead of that, write below line after setting all the values (i.e. after 'scorecardObjVO.getCurrentRow().setAttribute("StartDate", today);'):
newObjective.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED);
Check this and let me know if you are still facing the issue.

Changing the defaults when editing limits

Im creating a bunch of test sequences which all need to be real numbers with three fractional digits. Is there anyway to change the default settings for when you right click on a step then click edit limits. It keeps going back to <default> and auto formats my numbers. Its getting aggravting always switching it to real then deleting seven zeros every single time. Thanks.

Are you talking about the Numeric Format dialog box is always going back to default? I'm not seeing your behavior. I choose Real for my Type, uncheck Display Trailing Zeros, Number of Fractional Digits = 3, my Format is %$.3f and Custom is unchecked. Then I click ok and set some limits with 3 fractional digits and click Ok again.
Again this is all based on what I set by clicking on the Numeric Format button on the Edit Limits dialog. Seems to save them fine for me.

AA3, changing tempo in Edit mode.

Hello everyone.
I've been using AA3 for quite some time. I generally prefer to use FL Studio to work with recordings, but since Edison (FL Studio's equivalent to Audition's Edit Mode) if very poorly made, I prefer to use Audition to edit samples and recordings. When I record something like, an acoustic guitar, sometimes the recordings are a bit out of perfect timing, and I always like to have recordings perfect. So, what I would like to do is go into audition's edit mode and manually move around the notes myself. This seems to sometimes work well, if a note is a bit late, I delete the extra space. If it's a bit early, I copy a little bit of the dead space behind it, paste it, and am good to go. It's time consuming, but in the end, it syncs up perfectly with the VSTs I use, since computers are never really off timing. But, this doesn't seem to work when I want to change the tempo. For example, I recorded a song at 70 BPMs. So, I loaded the song into edit mode. Whoops! The tempo must be off. So, I go into multitrack mode, change it from what it's at to 70, go back and... there's no difference. From my understanding, BPM stands for beats per minute, and a beat isn't a constant in the equation, the minute is. Therefore, the distance between two beat should change when adjust the tempo. Only being able to work and edit in one tempo is very constricting, so I can't imagine that the people at adobe/cool edit pro would have done this on purpose. Is there a way around the tempo in edit mode being seemingly stuck at whatever figure it's at? Thanks for the help, I really need to get this recording done soon!

I'm somewhat confused now. You're telling me that the little ruler at the bottom of edit mode that says BMP ### (Where ### stands for the number set in multitrack view) that has all of the tickers is simply there for show? That would be like Photoshop having a ruler set to 72ppi, without the user being able to change it. If the document was in 300ppi, the ruler would not change, and the measurements would be off (of course, it would erroneously read 72ppi, as Audition erroneously reads the tempo set in multitrack view). Forunately, I found the answer that I had been seeking elsewhere. It appears that there is a small bug in Audition that when you change the tempo in Multitrack View, it changes the number displayed on the ruler in Edit View, but not the distance between the "ticks" giving it an inaccurate reading. To fix this, one must right-click the ruler, and adjust the tempo right there where it says "Edit Tempo...". I feel foolish that I didn't see this myself, but I've never needed to right-click the ruler until now. The reason I posted this was to help anyone else who couldn't find the answer, so they didn't have to deal with anyone on a high-horse who really didn't know the answer, or hardly read the question enough to understand it, but answered anyway with a quick and defeating answer that might quickly gain them points. I'm not naming names, but some people (not naming names) did come off a bit strong. But perhaps that's entirely deliberate...

When I record an audio track, there is a waveform. When I stop recording, the waveform disappears and becomes a straight line. It also disappears from the track edit window. But the sound is there. How can I stop the waveform from disappearing?

In Logic:
Preferences/Audio Set Recording Delay to 0 <zero>
This should always be set to zero unless a specific set of circumstances exist and you're audio drivers do not report position correctly.
On occasion, usually when importing a Logic 9 project, Logic-X randomly changes this to a negative/positive number. It's actually a bug in Logic, as it should always display the waveform.

Why do Karaoke CD's change tempo when uploaded?

I am new to Garageband. When I uploaded karaoke songs into iTunes they sounded fine, but when I transferred them to Garageband they sound slower and flat. When I noticed this I tried changing the tempo within Garageband but it wouldn't change, only the recorded vocals tracks changed. Is there something I can do to make the karaoke tracks right? Are you importing commercial CDs or CD-Rs? If they are ones you made yourself the track names will be seen as Track 01, Track 02 etc. and the information has to be keyed in again by hand. For commercial CDs, you have to connect to the internet as iTunes picks up the track information from an online database. It will do this automatically if you are connected while you are importing or you can do it afterwards by connecting to the internet, highlighting the tracks and going to Advanced>Get CD Track names:

Before I upgraded my system from Mac OS 10.4.11 to Mac OS 10.6.8 - I a had personalized the script for a voice iChat Alert when my husband logged off from work. I had the ichat voice warn me "OH, Crap! he's coming home now! Hurry clean house!" This personalized voice alert did not survive the upgrade. Now, I need step by step instructions to walk me through the process. Please help! I mis my machine shouting funny profane alerts.

In iChat 3 (OS 10.4.x) there was Line at the Bottom of iChat > Preferences > Alerts that you could enter text to and it would speak that Text.
(you could set something against Individual Buddies as well).
This Setting is not there in iChat 4 or 5 (I presume iChat 6 as well).
Now it is possible to write AppleScripts that can Speak.
It is alos possible in iChat 4 upwards to link an AppleScript to an Action/Alert
At this point my lack of AppleScript knowledge lets me down on what to tell you to do next.
An Alternative would be to Record a sound with said alert.
Place this sound in your Home Folder/Library/Sounds
Then in the Alert opton for youe husband select the Log off option and link that Sound

IPhone 4s Voice Memo App has 5 second delay when the record button is pressed. When it starts recording, it goes from 0 seconds to 5 or so seconds recorded. This happens randomly and often and sometimes has the delay but starts at zero. Solution Anyone?

Besides the delay it has been working fine as far as saving and playback is concerned. I have plenty of storage on the phone itself and it NEVER had this problem before I updated to iOS 7. I've reset the phone a couple times by holding down the power and home buttons at the same time. The reason I have an issue with this is that I'm always recording song ideas, melodies, and scratch takes; what I'm saying is when I come up with an idea I need to be able to know that when I hit record it will start right then so I don't forget anything that has just popped in my mind.

That's caused by the "Smart zoom" feature of the magic mouse. It's a Double tap with one finger to zoom and repeat to unzoom.
You can turn the feature off if desired in System Preferences > Mouse > Point & Click tab

We checked it with an iPhone 5 in house multiple times and could not reproduce this Problem. Must be something specific to your device. Maybe your speakerphone volume is turned down completely?

I am having the same issue with my iPhone 4. I can hear everyone but they can't hear me. Visited Apple Store and they said speakers were out, both bottom mic and top one for speaker phone. Said they were busted. Reloaded all software and didn't work. Got in parking lot and worked for 1 call. Now it's out again. Wanted $150 for new phone, haven't done it yet. don't know what to do.

up to now I had no problem when editing photos with photoshop elements 9. Due to an unknown reason/event the colours displayed , now, are not correct : it looks like the gama adjustment has been changed and the photo rendition is uncorrect. If I display the same photos with other photo editing software ( DPP from Canon for example, or Xnview) , the colours are correct !!... Can you help me ?

Thank you for trying to help me. In fact, I resolved my problem by changing the default ICC profile for my screen : I entered the parameters settings panel, screen definition and then advanced settings where I could choose another ICC profile.

Same way you select multipl items anywhere else.
Hold ctrl and click the items you want.
If they are in consecutive order, click the 1st then Shift click the last.

Track changes when editing pdf text?

Is it possible to track chnages when editing the text of a pdf?
If so, how?
And if not, is it possible to make all edits I do on a document in another colour to differentiate the original text from my editing text? (Without pressing a colour swatch every time of course...?)

OK, thanks. Now, can I change the colour of the text on all the changes I make then? In the Edit Document Text tool, if I right click, then I get the choice of font and colour. I have changed the colour to red so my edits will stand out and yet when I make a change the text colout does not change.
