Sudden error syncing mail

After months working fine, iTunes has began giving that error when syncing my iPhone 2G:
Image: !http://homepage.mac.com/xsimon/diversos/SyncError.jpg!
Both Mac and iPhone have the latest software version, and no changes has been made in their configurations.
I have tried deleting mail accounts in both iPhone and Mac and I still get the same error. What can I do?

Did you make any changes to the mail accounts on your computer? This error is stating that the information initially synced to the iPhone from the computer has changed and it cannot find the right path to make the changes.
This sync should only occur once, when you first set up the iPhone. Then turn it off.
Try this:
If the information that is on the computer is most up to date, then select the option in the Info Tab to overwrite the iPhone with the mail settings on the computer. After the sync, disable mail account syncing since it is not necessary to sync this information after it's been set.

When my iPod Touch syncs, everything syncs except for an error message that says the mail account did not sync due to "remapping record identifiers". I get my mail on the iPod with no problems, but am wondering what this is. Anybody know how to correct this?

  • Error while syncing mail accounts

iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iPhone "..." because an error occurred remapping record identifiers.
Try syncing your iPhone again. If the problem persists, replace the mail accounts on the iPhone from the info tab in the iPhone preferences.
The message above is an error message received several times. I have tried to work out how to replace the mail accounts through iTunes. Have been clicking it on and off and re-syncing. Still gives the error message. Can anyone help me resolve this?? tks

iTunes is running into a conflict between mail account information already on your iPhone and the accounts you are trying to sync.
Connect your iPhone to your computer. In the Advanced section under the Info tab, check the box next to "Mail Accounts". This will replace the mail account info on your iPhone with the accounts you are trying to sync.
If this does not work, then reset your sync history by opening the iSync application, going into the preferences, and clicking Reset Sync History.

  • Error sync calender and slow mail for Exchange

I have a Nokia E90 with Exchange Business software. I the last to month i get an error when synchronizing calendar. The phone completely locks with an error message. It is still possible to sync mail and contacts.
Today i upgraded the firmware to newest version, and now the Exchange application is very slow, and i still get the error message when trying to sync calendar.
Do you now what is wrong?

What do you mean "completely locks"? What is the error message. Is there an error in the admin logs? Look in the \MailForExchange directory using the FileBrowser.
There is likely a bad calendar item on your server that is causing this problem. Let's try to locate it. It could be anywhere in the Calendar. Change the calendar "sync back" setting as low as possible. This will reduce the number of items that will be synched.
If that doesn't help, take a look at your repeating items. Look for items with hundreds or thousands of recipients or large attachments in the body.
Another way: there is a way to change the Calendar view in Outlook to a list instead of a calendar. From this view, you can temporarily move small groups of your calendar items to another folder until synching succeeds. Then you know that the bad item is in the last group. Now move the items back to the calendar one by one until you find the bad one.
Once found, recreate it so that you have a working copy, but don't move the bad one back into your calendar.
    Make sense?

  • Help-syncing mail error message

I got the following error message while syncing my iPhone 3G to my Mac-
*iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iPhone “Paul’s iPhone because an error occurred remapping record identifiers.*
+Try syncing your iPhone again. If the problem persists, replace the mail accounts on the iPhone from the info tab in the iPhone preferences.+
I sync my me.com through mobile me and I also have a gmail imap and a comcast pop 3 account. I deleted all the accounts from the iPhone. The error message still kept coming up. I restored my iPhone and it was fine for 4 days. Now I'm getting the error message again.
    Any ideas?
    I appreciate your help!

Not sure how to resolve this, but after you have transferred the email account settings from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process which is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences, you don't need to keep this option selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences. This only needs to be done once and is a one way transfer process only - from your computer to your iPhone.

  • ERROR: itunes could not sync mail accounts to the iphone etc.

Brand new iphone owner. Day two. The initial sync was fie, on the next sync I got the the following error message."iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iphone (my name) iPhone because the mail accounts are in use by the iPhone. Close the mail accounts settings on the iPhone then sync again."
I can't find this one in other discussions. HELP!

You can either setup your mail account settings manually or sync your settings to your phone. If your mail accounts are already setup on your phone, there is no need to have this box checked in itunes.

  • Error message when syncing mail

when I went to sync my iphone today this message appeared.
itunes could not sync mail accounts to iphone. because an error occurred remapping record identifiers
I do not know how to fix this error or what could be wrong...
the iphone will not continue to sync after that.
    thanks

This was addressed in a previous post:
On the next sync, try going into the info tab in itunes and uncheck sync email accounts.
Then click apply in the bottom right corner.
Close itunes and disconnect the iphone.
Now open isync in your applications folder.
Open isync in your applications folder.
    Open the isync preferences.
    Reset sync history.
Once sync history is reset, you can try opening itunes, connect the iphone and try syncing again.
If the error still occurs, you can leave the option to sync accounts to the iphone unchecked since this does not mess with sending or receiving mail on the iphone.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error message when syncing mail accounts...

I recently started getting this error message while syncing on Windows XP running Outlook 2007.....
iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iPhone "Nick DeGiovine's iPhone" because an error occurred remapping record identifiers.
Any assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated...!

    Mackinator,
All of the email addresses are with servers that have presets on the iPhone, and it appears the interaction between what you are syncing, and those presets is where you are having the error.
You may want to consider using some of those presets. For example bellsouth.net's email is now hosted by Yahoo. You can enter the settings for it in a few steps. When adding the account to the iPhone, choose the "Yahoo" presets. Put in the username as your entire @bellsouth.net email address. There will be @yahoo.com visible, but won't affect the functionality of the account, and people you send to won't see the @yahoo.com after your address. The Bellsouth account will now work, and should also get push notifications for your Bellsouth email via Yahoo.
For your GMail account, choosing GMail will configure the outgoing server to work on most networks. The exception is networks that block the majority of ports, such as some work environments.
This article contains more information on mail settings including the information about @bellsouth.net and Yahoo.

  • Mail error, sync help

I use an iMac, MBP, and iPhone, all synced via MobileMe.
When I click the iMac/MBP Mail option to see associated email replies to a particular email (the little curvy arrow icon button at the far left of each email that appears by any email to which you reply or forward), I get the following ERROR message:
"Mail was unable to find your response to the message “...”. You may have deleted the message."
The function works correctly when I am on the computer from which the email was replied/forwarded to. How can I sync this function so that it works correctly from my iMac/MBP regardless of the computer that I sent/forwarded the email from?
Note: all sent/forwarded emails are synced in all sent folders regardless from which device I used to send them, it's just that for some reason this little function is not working.
Hope this all makes sense. I love that function and want to get it working but cannot find the right search to dig up any info...

When I sync my 3g iPhone to my laptop - windows , I am getting a new message that "iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iPhone because an error occurred remapping record identifiers.
Can anyone help me to solve this issue ? relly its a major problm

iTunes is running into a conflict between mail account information already on your iPhone and the accounts you are trying to sync.
Connect your iPhone to your computer. In the Advanced section under the Info tab, check the box next to "Mail Accounts". This will replace the mail account info on your iPhone with the accounts you are trying to sync.

  • ITunes - iPhone Sync Error with Mail Accounts

Whenever I sync my iPhone with iTunes I get the error message, "iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iPhone 'Henry's iPhone" because an error occurred remapping record identifiers./Try syncing your iPhone again. If the problem persists, replace the mail accounts on the iPhone from the info tab in the iPhone preferences."
If I uncheck the mail accounts sync option in the info tab, the problem goes away, but returns when I recheck the option.
What does this error message mean? More to the point, how, precisely do I remedy the situation?

Easiest to just leave mail account syncing off. FYI, that setting does not sync emails, it only syncs the account settings. If email is working on your phone, there's no need to sync the settings.
