Sudden inability to use iTunes

I have gone through the forum and checked for this issue. I saw that someone did have a similiar issue but the solution was never really given.
I am running a PC with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Up until yesterday, iTunes loaded without issue, but for some reason, it has suddenly stopped working.
No error message, no apperance of iTunes in Task Manager, no real reason at all for it have stopped working.
I have Norton Anti-Virus 2010 and I was concerned that perhaps I had grabbed some malware somewhere so I ran a complete scan of my system, but it came up clean.
I have tried a wholesale uninstall of all iTunes/Quicktime components and a reinstallation. Negative response
I have even tried a System Restore to a point when I knew iTunes was working. Negative response.
I've run a full file system check. Nothing.
However, Quicktime runs without issue. It just seems like iTunes has fallen into a hole somewhere in my hard drive.
I wouldn't really care for the most part, but I have an iPhone and I kind of need iTunes.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm out of ideas.

I apologize for your inconvenience you are having, to resolve the Itunes issue you can create an ACL allowing this web page, gs.apple.com. about your performance issue, sometimes your device CPU is at 100%, the cause of this problem could that you are overloading the device, you could have performance problems due to the amount of services you have activated, for example if you have enabled the IPS, if you have too many VPN,  routes, too many access-rules and others features enabled it could affect the performance I recommend you disable the features you are not using, you can also perform a factory reset and configure just the necessary features you need. Other think that you could check is the MTU size, try with 1450.

    Connect your iPod to iTunes and check on the Device/Podcasts pane; there are several options for which Podcasts are "kept on/left on" the iPod at each Sync. Are they set the way you want? For instance, if the setting is "to keep on the iPod only new Podcasts", that would cause older Podcasts to be removed.
    If you need to chnage the setting, you will need to Sync the iPod afterwards for the change to take effect.

    I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
    I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more.  And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should.  On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much.  I will post a note in the app store to let them know.  I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
    I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine. 
    Starbucks app works as it should. 
    I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.

    You can try signing out and signing back in. You can also go into Settings > Safari and Clear all Cookies. You can even try logging into the iTunes Store on a computer and downloading a free app or something.
    If none of those work, then you will have to wait for the issue to be resolved on Apple's end.

    i have tried to restore via itunes as i would have usually, half way through i get an error code 3194 pop up.....and yes i do back up.

    I finally resolved my problem after spending way too much time on it. I simply handed my 160GB iPod to my husband to put his fav Stones & Beatles songs on and I went back to my 80GB Microsoft Zune which has never disappointed me.
    After spending so much time trying to figure this out I did finally take it back to Apple Store who performed a diagnostic and found there was a problem with the device. They replaced it with a refurbished one which has similar issues. All I wanted to do was listen to my music. Was that too much to ask? So I am happy to be free of this problematic device. No more Apple for me!!

  • Suddenly unable to upload mp3 files using iTunes Match

    I've got a USB turntable and have enjoyed digitizing a lot of LPs and copying them into iTunes.  I digitized a 10-track album just yesterday, and can copy the resulting mp3 files into iTunes, where they play fine, but they won't upload to iCloud using iTunes Match. It gets to the point where it's supposed to upload tracks it cannot match and just sits there.  I use Audacity to digitize from the USB turntable, and it exports as MP3 file. This has worked over many albums but now seems to be stuck. Any thoughts on what the problem might be?

    So my issue appears to be with uploading mp3 files that probably won't match anything in iCloud.
    iTunes match matches Audio files by comparing the audio and not by comparing the tags for the album. My iTunes Library contains more than 500 songs that have been ripped and matched from vinyl records or audio tapes.
    The songs will not match, if there is not the exact same recording in the store, but if the audo quality is good and the tempo of the player was exact, the song will be matched.

    It's better to post the URL of the feed (as you have subsequently done) than the contents of the feed .
    From the FeedValidator report the feed is basically OK for iTunes. There are several occasions where 'content:encoded' sections (following immediately on 'guid' tags) should be enclosed in
    <description>...</description>
    tags: however all this will be ignored by iTunes anyway and only applies to other readers. The 'potentially dangerous content' referred to by FeedValidator is within the 'content:encoded' tags and so isn't relevant to iTunes. They are referring to an inline css style, and I don't know whether this might cause a problem elsewhere.
    You should really have a language tag, e.g.
    <language>en-us</language>
    (you have a dc:language tag but that's for a different system). This should be placed in the top section, before the first 'item' tag.
    It's advisable to have an 'itunes:explicit' tag for each 'item' -
    <itunes:explicit>yes IF CONTAINS ADULT MATERIAL, OTHERWISE no</itunes:explicit>
    it's not compulsory if you have no adult material, but you must have a 'yes' if you do.
    You can check your feed by subscribing in iTunes from the 'Advanced' menu - this has the same result as clicking the 'Subscribe' button on the Store page. If it works OK there you are ready to submit it.

    Later I tried to restore and update the Iphone using Itunes.
    I have updated the Itunes.
    Using hard-reset, I tried to restore the OS and did the same successfully.
    After installing the same over my Iphone 3G, I didnt recieved any intimation for completion of the process, besides, I was not able to start the mobile even I have reset the OS.
    when I push the wake-up button, I am able to see the Apple Logo and after some time, it goes off and remains idle with no more display.
    I tried to reset OS twice, it remained the same.
    Can any one help me here with this issue.
    I am not even able to figure-out the cause of the problem.

  • TS1410 iPod classic suddenly not recognized by iTunes

    My 30Gb Ipod suddenly is no longer recognized in iTunes on my MacBook Pro. And all the music on it appears to have been wiped clean. However when I plug it into a PC, the device is recognized as a portable hard drive that it wants to reformat. And iTunes does still sync fine with my iPhone and iPod Nano. Can anyone help with this please?

    Well, my 3rd gen iPod (that's so old it has to connect using FireWire), my 4th gen iPod (2004 model), and my 1st gen iPod shuffle (from 2005) all still work fine on my iMac with the latest iTunes.  Can't believe everything on the Internet... 
    If it looks like the iPod currently has no songs on it when you look on the iPod, you should probably do a Restore on the iPod using iTunes.  There may be data corruption on the iPod's hard drive.  This is done from the iPod's Summary tab in iTunes.  This will erase the iPod's hard drive, re-install its software, and set it to default setting.
    Since the iPod is not being recognized by iTunes when connected, put the iPod into Disk Mode first

    Hopefully, iTunes will now see it.  It may say the iPod is in "Recovery Mode."  Try doing a Restore, if possible.

    The most evident situation of all is Apple's silence concerning this matter.
    The "rumor" is (and it is just a rumor) that there is a software problem involving the latest I Tunes upgrade. It has happened before. My nano did not develope a problem until I downloaded the latest version of I-Tunes.
    A lot of people are screaming for assistance and not much is being given. Apple should make the previous version of I Tunes available, so we can download a working product. If I Tunes is not the problem, I offer my apologies. These problems surfacing all of a sudden don't seem to be a coincidence.
    Apple should provide a fix and offer free tech support to help people get their
    I Pod's back in working order.
    Just my opinion.
    I am getting ready to go online with a new computer. I guess that will be another problem I will need to address......the migration of I Tunes to a new computer.
    Fun times ahead......I am nothing more than a novice......but the "experience is good"
