SUDDEN PANNING TO THE RIGHT

Hey guys and gals and friends alike. I am having a troubling issue right now with my logic pro. Out of no where the audio tracks are randomly panning to the right +40 or +39 degrees. This is a hassle when it comes to mixing and is driving me batty. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and possibly has any good solutions to this annoying issue. Im running Logic Pro 8 on a G5 and its been working fine (except for the random system overload) for the past 6 months.... virus maybe???

That's a good guess, I used to think it was that too... Sometimes I;ll open a project and have an audio track panned full left.
As I remember... this was a bug in an older version of Logic, since I lately been going through old projects bring them up to speed in L8.. I think what I'm seeing is the old bug that's been saved in the projects. It's also possible the Sy77 I'm using as a master keyboard is sending some data, it does send "Active Sensing" all the time so that might possibly be the problem.

Mavericks mail - classic view with preview pane on the right

I'm going to have to start using Mavericks, but the main reason I have resisted is the fact that Widemail doesn't work there. What I want seems simple. The "classic" mail view where I have column headers and a preview pane on the right, rather than underneath (screens are wider than they are tall... duh). It seems that mail in Mavericks can do one or the other, but not both. Is there any setting, addon, or third party client that will let me have both at the same time?

Tracks are panning to the right alone when I click the virtual keyboard

This is a very weird problem I think. It started happening sometime ago and I really have no idea how to fix it: When I click the virtual midi keyboard multiple times, the track start panning to the right alone. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

You should find these in the User Home folder library (which is hidden by default in Lion):
1) In the Finder, use the Go menu whilst holding down the Option (Alt) key... the Library will appear in the 'Go' menu.
2) Navigate to (<user>):Library:Application Support:Logic:Project Templates

If you select a mailbox, you should get an Edit button (easier to see in landscape mode). Clicking the button will provide you with check circles for the messages. You also get Delete and Move buttons at the bottom. Check the messages you want to move and then navigate to the mailbox you want to drop them into. I think as long as you can navigate to a mailbox you can move the messages to it.
In the Mac Mail application and probably Outlook on the Windows side, you also setup rules to move messages to specific mailboxes. If the mailboxes are stored on the server, then you can have the sorting done on the server and they should appear that way on the iPad. If your later messages do not show up, you may need to have the iPad app pulled down more messages until they are all showing.

When I open a PDF directly in acrobat pro 11 it provides the review pane at the right hand side on clicking on Comment button. But when I open it through browser the review pane is missing.

The review pane is missing at the right hand side when I open a PDF in browser. I am using acrobat pro 11 and it is not even providing the option to prevent the PDF to open in browser.
Also, the review pane appears when I launch the PDF in acrobat directly.

How is Acrobat 8 not fully Windows 7 compatible? I see discussions on this Adobe Community saying how Acrobat 8 does work on Windows 7 and with 64-bit. It appears that if Acrobat 8 is updated to the latest version, then this should fix AA8-Win7 issues. And I am at the latest AA8 version, 8.3.1.
And how are Acrobat 8 and Reader XI are not compatible? I have always had Acrobat and Reader installed on the same PC, without ever having any issues. And Adobe allows the installation of one after the other. So apparently Adobe allows them both to exist together. If they are incompatible, then why would Adobe allow them to exist together?
Anyway, I did uninstall the FileOpen Plug-in and the Reader XI, then reinstalled the FileOpen Plug-in. So now Reader is not installed and only Acrobat 8 is installed. I then tried to load the PDF file, but I still get the Acrobat 8 error described above.

Alsa sound and xine engine suddenly stopped using the right soundcard

I have a relativly fresh arch install and was astonished how easy the installation of alsa was. I just installed the alsa-lib package and it automatically detected my PCI soundcard instead of using my onboard chip.
But suddenly (about some hours ago) Amarok refuses to playback on the right soundcard. Instead i get output on my onboard card. I'm using gnome and if i check the Audio settings everything is on "Alsa" and if i click on the "Test" button i get that annoying sine-sound - on the right soundcard. If i try to manually change the sound output in Amarok from "Autodetect" to "Alsa" i get a xine error and Amarok crashes.
Then i tried to define my default soundcard in my .asoundrc:

No luck. What's happening here?

Hard pan to the right loses all sound

Hey all,
Been noticing this problem for a while. There is a dramatic volume dropoff when I pan an instrument, MIDI or audio, to the right. To the left works fine but to the right basically just makes it disappear. If I pan the master track to the right I lose almost all sound. This comes out of my headphones and speakers. When things are centered, they're evenly balanced between left and right, it's only when I pan it that I lose sound.
I use an MBox 2 Pro on a Mac Pro Early 2008 with Logic Pro 9. Lotsa pros. Please let me know how I can fix this. Thanks!

Maybe your query was answered (can't see any replies though looks like you got one), but if not...... the pan control acts like a balance pot not a true panner. To properly pan the whole signal, load the Direction Mixer as an insert on the track and do your panning through it (logic plug under 'Imaging").
(EDIT - oh I see it's happening with midi as well...., yes check your interface is connected properly L-L and R-R and maybe check if a cable is at fault. If you have active speakers, are the amp levels set similarly? Weird it happens through the headphone outs as well on the interface. Not familiar with your interface but I would definitely look at the level settings/balance levels for it in its software or hardware)

Have the right Comment pane be the default instead of the Tools pane

I'm cross posting this from my other post, found here. Since I don't think the Quick Tools bar can be customized in Reader XI, my main question is:
Can you change which "pane" is selected on the right side when Reader XI is launched?
I'm not 100% sure if pane is the right term, but when you open Reader XI, Tools, Sign, and Comment are shown on the right side. Later, if you open a PDF, Extended is also shown. Right now, Tools is always open when you open a PDF, or open Reader XI. If I can't customize the Quick Tools, at least I should be able to tell Reader which right-side pane to default to when Reader is opened, shouldn't I?
Again, searching the Preference Reference doesn't turn up anything definitive. A few entries looked slightly promising, bcommentPanelOnImport being one of them, but no matter the combination, Tools always defaults when Reader is opened.
So, to get more specific,
Can I have the Comment pane open by default when Reader XI is launched, as opposed to the Tools pane?

I would like to set my Reader in a way that for any PDF that I open it opens the Comment Pane on the right to be displayed... Right now it opens with the Tools pane open on the right... I looked over Preferance, Properties, views all over and I could not find anything that pinpoints how to set the view to the way I want the PDF opens when I open one...

Is it possible for Firefox to show a preview pane in the file/image upload window?

I'm not sure if this forum is the correct place to start this conversation. Let me know if there is a more appropriate location. Anyway, some applications such as Gimp show an image preview in a pane on the right side of the file->open window. It would be nice to have this feature on the Firefox upload window. Currently, when uploading an image with Firefox, there are only small thumbnails to help identify files. This makes it rather difficult to sift through large directories of image files. In Ubuntu, which uses gtkfilechooser, I think it is the responsibility of the initiating program to invoke the preview feature. Some key words of note(that I do not understand) are gtk_file_chooser_set_preview_widget, gtk_file_chooser_get_preview_widget, gtk_file_chooser_set_preview_widget_active, gtk_file_chooser_get_preview_widget_active.
I am new to Firefox/Linux and don't have the skills to make this improvement. Any help with this issue will be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Which distro are you using? I'm using Ubuntu. Ubuntu uses gtkfilechooser for picking files. I think kubuntu uses a different file chooser. I'm not sure how many types of file choosers exist.

When I compose an email, I can't see what I'm typing near the right margin. Other browsers have an arrow to click to widen the view. youdon't.

When I compose an email, the composition window is not wide enough, so as I get near the right margin my cursor suddenly disappears behind the right edge of the window for like 10 characters or so and then it reappears on the Left Margin and I can see it again. So if I type something incorrectly out there on the right where I can't see it, I'm screwed. And there's no mechanism to widen the window. In Explorer, there was an arrow halfway down the window that I could click on to widen the window. So I'm gathering this is a browser/Firefox issue. Please advise.

Can't you resize that text area when you move the mouse pointer to the bottom right corner?
Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" in case the current setting is causing problems.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.

It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with overlapping text.

Why is the pane in the iCloud System settings empty?

I see my Apple ID in the iCloud settings window, so i appear to be logged in, but no services show up in the pane to the right. Why is the pane empty?

Preview pane problems are frequently video card/driver problems. Make sure drivers are up to date.
If you purge cache in tools/cache/purge cache for xxx folder does that change anything?

Drag and drop icons from onside of the split pane to the other side.

I am tring to write a program where i can drag and drop icons from the left side of the split pane to the right side. I have to draw a network on the right side of the split pane from the icons provided on the left side. Putting the icons on the labels donot work as i would like to drag multiple icons from the left side and drop them on the right side. CAn anyone please help me with this.

In Mail, I can see the list of messages on the left but the message that is highlighted doesn't display on the right.

Where is my mail message? The list of emails with preview is on the left, but the pane on the right only contains the sender and subject, no content.

Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app completely : from the home screen (i.e.not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Vocal track is locked in place panned to the left

My vocal track will only play out the left output - if I pan to the right it just mutes itself.

You have probably recorded your mono vocal signal onto a stereo track where it ended up in the left channel. Convert the channel to mono by clicking and holding the stereo icon until you get a popup where you select only the left channel.
In the future make sure you create a mono channel for recording vocals (or any other mono sources).
