Sudden restart

my iphone 4s sometimes restarting of its own. any fix for this one?

Hi @SamudraPrayitna,
I saw your post regarding the computer crashing when watching videos and when trying to play games. That seems to indicate a graphics problem. Try installing this AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver and let me know how it goes.
Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post solved your issue.

    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
    happening.

  • BugCheck 0x0000007a Sudden restart

    Hi,
Today Moring while Checking Server 2008R2 found an error Message which Shared below.
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.  The bugcheck was: 0x0000007a (0xfffff6fc400083d0, 0xffffffffc000009d, 0x000000016ab0c860, 0xfffff8800107a210). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP.
    Report Id: 070914-46379-01.
    After Checking Forums and searches found the possibilities like;
    1.Antivirus 2.Paging file not enough 3.RAM Problem 4.HDD Problem
As I analyze All the Event before it restarts I found  Error Event ID 2019 (The server was unable to allocate from the system non paged pool because the pool was empty.)
Error Event ID 51 (An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 during a paging operation)
Checkd Memory.DMP found partmgr.sys Problem, contacted Hardware manufacturer and Shred the Details of Event ID 51, collected the hardware Logs using Manufacturer tool and shared them, now the are saying its not an issue of Hardware there must some Issue
with Operating System ! They did not found any logs in there tools for hardware, like Array status was fine, Code for HDD, Controller and Back Pane are in updated State. No Logs found for RAM too in tool.
One application Runs On the System (A local Mail Application) it Consumes Memory day-By day I have Monitored this every morning. Due to This Application vendor suggested to take restart of the Service before working hours get Started; i forgotten to do from
last 3 days (Or I was just checking really this App has that kind of bug !!!)
This would be a Cause of this restart ?? Like Memory for paging reached to their limit and Server behaved like this ?

    Hi Swapz,
Regarding to Bug Check 0x7A, please refer to following article.
    Bug Check 0x7A: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR
For Event ID 2019 and 51, please refer to following articles and check if can help you.
    Nonpaged
Pool Resource Allocation Error (SRV Error 2019)
    Understanding
Pool Consumption and Event ID: 2020 or 2019
    Information about Event ID 51
On current situation, would you please let me know whether all necessary updates had been installed on the
    Windows Server 2008 R2?
    à
    Checkd Memory.DMP found partmgr.sys Problem
    Please run
sfc /scannow command to scan all protected system files. In addition, did you have another Windows Server 2008 R2 computer which work as normal? Please follow the path:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers directory and navigate to partmgr.sys file on the problematic server 2008 r2. Then compare this partmgr.sys file with another one on the good server. Any difference?
    à
I forgotten to do from last 3 days (Or I was just checking really this App has that kind of bug!!!). This would be a Cause of this restart?? Like Memory for paging reached to their limit and Server behaved like this?
It’s hard to say. You can take restart of the Service before working hours get started as normal and check
if this issue disappeared. Then reproduce the process (as you described: forgotten to do from last 3 days). Will this sudden restart issue occurred again? If occurred, this issue may be related to this third-party application (A local Mail Application) as
    you guessed.
By the way, analyzing the crash dump file will be a effective way that help us to narrow down the root cause of the issue. Actually, it is not effective for us to debug the
crash dump file here in the forum. If this issues is a state of emergency for you. Please contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS) via telephone so that a dedicated Support Professional can assist with your request.
To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request, please refer to the web site listed below:

    Hello Hery,
Generally, supervisor probe all the linecard by using hearbeat messages. Due to some reason supervisor did not hear any keepalive reply from any linecard then supervisor reset that linecard to recovery .
2014 Nov 21 11:47:39 WIB MASTER %MODULE-2-MOD_NOT_ALIVE: Module 3 not responding... resetting (Serial number: JAF1612ASPA)
From the above log, it looks like same thing happened in your case also . This is due to  multiple reason , But most of the time EOBC congestion, EOBC drop or bad fabric connection . This could be either hardware issue or transit issue.
you can set diag level complete and reset the linecard once . After reseat (physical reseat- means remove the Linecard and insert it back) if you see any diagnostic failure or crash again then you need to replace the card otherwise its transit issue .
    HTH

  • Sudden Restart - iMac

    Hello,
I posted a thread not long ago and did not receive any answer, I'm quite disappointed because this seems to be the largest Apple forum there is.
Just to clarify, I'm using an old iMac 2008 model, 2.66GHz Core 2 Duo model with ATI Radeon 2600 Pro, 2GB Ram.
I use my Mac for FCP as part of my study but now that I'm done, I tend to use the Mac for bootcamp to play games on Windows, I'm having sudden restarts at random, be it Firefox or Team Fortress 2. It's so frustrating cause the interval can be utterly random, it can happened between 5 minutes or 5 hours. I can't predict the moment it restarts and most of my files are gone if I did not constantly bloody saving them.
I scoured the forum but everyone can't pinpoint the issue aside from improper RAM or power. My Apple Care's gone and it would be great to know what I'm having before sending my iMac for needless repair cause I don't live near Mac stores.

Sounds a lot like an overheating issue. GPU temp is rather high, video cuts out before the sound and then it's restarting indicating it's most likely a graphical issue before all processes shut down and you've narrowed it down to heavier programs that are making more use of the machine.
As far as Rivatuner goes it's somewhat straight forward once you get the hang of it. Personally my GPU doesn't work with the automatic fan control but the GPU controls are amazing.
Here's a quick guide to adjust the fan speed.
Once the program is open you should start on the "Main" tab.
Choose your GPU from the drop down menu and then click on the arrow in the bottom right on the display right beneath that.
Click the option that looks like a graphics card and then a new window appears.
Choose the Fan tab and check the box that says "Enable low-level fan control" and set it to Fixed. Adjust the slider to around 60-75% for starters then click Ok. You should quickly hear the fan increase in speed and become louder.
Click the arrow in the bottom right on the lower display again and this time choose the option that looks like a film roll and magnifying glass. This allows you to monitor it. Try doing what you were before and then check the logs scrolling on this window after a period of time to see what the temps are at. You can also use the program you were before, though.
Guides for usage can be found here as well. They include some useful screenshots explaining what I'm talking about.
A Genius Bar appointment may be suitable as well so maybe you can get a cleaning or find out if there's an issue with the GPU or it's fan as well.

Take the computer in for service. You have a failing GPU.
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010)- Intermittent black screen or loss of video
Mid-2010 15" MacBook Pros - the bad NVIDIA GPU
If you're having frequent kernel panics with your 15" mid-2010, or intermittent screen problems, the problem is, more than likely, the faulty NVIDIA GPU found in a number of those machines.
Here's the portion of the kernel panic log that points to the faulty NVIDIA card:

    Using
    Mac (21.5-inch Late 2009), OS X Mavericks (10.9)
My iMac suddenly restarted on its own, saying there was a problem.   When I saw that, I noticed iPhoto was "finding discrepancies and is now rebuilding my entire library."     Am currently repairing permissions and running Intego virus scan.   Ideas?    Thanks...Ralph

Thanks Kirk and Thomas....I did appear to have a kernel panic.   The contents of the panic are shown below.   I used disc permissions repair on the internal and external drives and all seem to be ok.     iPhoto is completely rebuilt and all is well there.    I use Time Machine and a dedicated hard drive for its contents.   Been using Macs since my original computer....a brand new Mac II.....this is a new experience.   Here's the info displayed on the panic.   Thanks a bunch...Ralph

  • Sudden Restarts on Mac Pro.

As of the past week or two, My Mac Pro has been doing sudden restarts.
The latest was in the middle of a film scan.
I set the scan up, walked away from the computer while it scanned and a few minutes into a 25 minute scan, the computer shut down and gave me the 'gong' sound. Upon the reboot, it gave me the error message that an unexpected shut down happened and do i want to send a report to Apple.
Yesterday i was getting the same thing. These mostly happen while the computer is idle.
The only difference with yesterday was that upon reboot, i got the error message with the power button symbol asking me to hold the power button down and shut down the machine and then restart.
I did a reset where i shut down the computer, and unplugged everything from the rear of the machine for a minute or so. still sudden shut downs.
I have read that this is common on the MacBooks but i have not seen anything on the Towers.
Please advise? i have a few months left on Apple care.
    Thanks.

Seems like we have three different threads.
I don't believe the article on SMC RESET is accurate, at least leaving unpowered for couple minutes doesn't seem to work, try overnight, until they return to using a physical SMC button.
Run AHT in Extended Loop. And run Memtest. Marginal RAM is still bad ram.
There should also be a UPS, worth every penny, along with AppleCare - and do pay for extended warranty. Now.
Heat is always worth checking. Boost the fans. Monitor temp readings - Hardware Monitor is more accurate than freeware program iStat.
Clone your system and put it someplace safe off line on FW drive.
    Run Disk Warrior.
Don't continue to use after a freeze or hard restart, repair it and boot from your emergency boot hard drive that has 10.5.5 (latest) along with Disk Warrior and other tools.
Do some maintenance. Onyx 2.0 or Leopard Cache Cleaner.
There WAS an issue with freeze and restarts on wake from sleep that was addressed (April?) with EFI firmware patch update.
Kernel panics are as varied as user setups. RAM, USB and FW devices AND cables. Tablets, input devices of any kind.
And if you don't stumble on why and solution, and a clean fresh OS (and be careful what you install, and double-check along the way) schedule an appointment to get it looked at, you're right, it isn't normal, but it could be something like a printer driver or connection too.

  • Satellite A500-19W - Suddenly restarts during games

    Hello Guys,
I recently got a new Satellite A500-19W, but while playing games it suddenly restarts.
Any idea what might be causing this and how to solve it.
    Thanks,

    Hi Malek_1,
This happened also to me on Satellite A300. The reason was because my notebook was overheating and so I decided to clean it using compressed air spray. Its pretty easy because therefore its not necessary to disassemble the notebook and it blows out the dust from the cooling ventilators.
    Check this!!!
Furthermore in Windows Power Management you can choose between different cooling methods. I use Maximum Performance mode.

  • IMac Suddenly Restarts

Hello.  I have a mid 2007 20" iMac that is acting up.  There are 2 iMacs and 1 Mac Pro in the office all on a network.  When the Mac Pro is awakened from sleep, 1 of the iMacs will suddenly restart.  It is always the same iMac too.  It is becoming a nuissance.  They are all on a different breaker too so it's not a power surge.  Any thoughts?

On The iMac in System Preferences/Energy if 'Wake for Network Access' is selected try deselecting it. may be it is crashing and restarting with a network access from sleep.
Just a complete guess but not take long to check it.
This has some info on Wake on Demand.

  • Sudden restarts while using bootable USB installer (mid-2011 iMac) - evidence of hardware problem?

    Greetings:
For a couple of years I've been suffering from an issue reported in many threads:  seemingly random shutdowns and restarts of my mid-2011 iMac.  These can happen several times a day, or there can be a gap of weeks between occurences.  I've searched the web and discussions.apple.com endlessly, and tried every conceivable solution.  I've observed no consistent pre-restart pattern in Console.  I've tried removing all unnecessary extensions and start-up programs.  Fixed permissions, repaired HDD, many of the diagnostic procedures described by LINC (superuser on this forum).  I would sometimes get temporary relief from periodic restart loops, by unplugging the computer and resetting PRAM, but this would not last long. I couldn't discern whether it is a software/conflict issue, or a hardware issue.  Have run AHT in extended looping mode, several times, and found nothing wrong.  Which caused me to keep thinking it must be a software issue.  The last thing I've tried is a clean install of Yosemite, with full HDD erase, from bootable USB.
I did this successfully, restored files from Time Machine...but then a few hours later, a series of sudden restarts began, with 4 or 5 within a couple of hours. I decided to shutdown and restart using the bootable USB installer again, and run Disk Utility from it to check the HDD for errors.
But then, while booted up from the USB (and after running Disk Utility with a normal result):  the computer suddenly turned off and restarted!  And then it rebooted again into installer mode (i.e. running off the bootable USB), and I ran Disk Utility again and ...it happened again!
So what does this tell me?  I am asking all of you for confirmation please.  I am thinking this is a strong indication that whatever the issue is causing the restarts, it is hardware based, as the system was running off the bootable USB at the time, NOT using installed operating system or software.  AND this reminded me of one other instance where the system had rebooted randomly, while I was in SAFE mode.
Would you agree that this is likely now pointing to a hardware issue?  Is power supply the likely culprit?  Or??  (and recalling that repeated AHT have showed nothing...).  Is it worth trying to fix (out of warranty)?
    thanks for any insights,
    Warren

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It makes no changes to your data.
Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    syslog -k Sender kernel -k Message CSeq 'n Cause: -' | tail | awk '/:/{$4=""; print}' | pbcopy
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing the key combination command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear below what you entered.
The output of the command will be automatically copied to the Clipboard. If the command produced no output, the Clipboard will be empty. Paste into a reply to this message.
The Terminal window doesn't show the output. Please don't copy anything from there.

  • My iPhone 5s suddenly restarts

My iPhone 5s suddenly restarts, this happens when the device is locked. reboot takes about 5 seconds.
    Is a device unlocked

Back up and restore via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a new device and test. If the problem is solved, there is some kind of corruption in your backup file. If it continues, take it to an Apple Store for evaluation of a possible hardware problem.

  • BOINC 5.4.9, InteliMac, and sudden restarts

I had been using 5.2.13 (powerPC) without any apparent problem. I upgraded to 5.4.9 (Universal) and my mac began suddenly restarting, about every 20 minutes. Reintalled the OS on a freshly prepared HD, It ran about 36 hours before a restart, then 8 hours, then one.
I reverted to 5.2.13 and it runs again like it should.
    Anyone else using BOINC, seti@home?

I think you may have more than one problem. It sounds like you have some bad memory sticks, but you also have a corrupt OS installation. Check your risers for red LED's indicating faulty RAM. Run the Apple Hardware Test, extended version, looking for the same thing. Remove any RAM that isn't working, and make sure the remaining RAM is installed in the right arrangement for your model.
Then back up all data and reinstall the OS. After reinstalling, run Software Update.
