Sudden unsupported signal with Chromecast

While watching a show from Netflix, streaming from my nexus 4, 4.4.4 to our TV, a 42RV530U, the tv casting screen suddenly just has my TVs message "unsupported video signal". If I unplug Chromecast from the HDMI port on the back of the TV, it changes to "no signal", so it appears my TV recognizes there is a device there, but out of nowhere, doesn't recognize it?? We've been using this system for months!
I tried switching it to a different HDMI port and changing the input, which works properly with our other devices like Xbox, so I know it's not a problem with the port. I tried the Xbox on all ports/inputs and they're all fine, and just once I was able to get the Chromecast home screen back and stream Netflix long enough for one episode via a different HDMI port, but then it did the same "unsupported signal" thing, and now no matter what port/input I'm on, it won't register. The Netflix app still says it's playing and connected to Chromecast however, so I feel it's something to do with the TV and not Chromecast.
I did troubleshoot all the steps, finally ending with holding the button on Chromecast until it reset. Attempted to set it up again, but I cannot see the code on the screen. Just the same TV message, "unsupported signal".
Why would it support it just fine, and then suddenly stop, and now the TV doesn't recognize it at all??

I found the problem. Somehow, something happened to the kernel image and corrupted it. On a whim I re-installed the package, getting 4.0.1-1 again and after that the system boots fine again.
No idea what happened to it, there were no crash events or bad dismounts etc. that I know of. I guess Windows might have done something.

    You may wish to try the following:
    Press and hold the menu and the up button simultaneously on the remote for six seconds, the Apple TV should then begin to cycle through the various resolutions available to it at 20 second intervals.. If you see a picture appear up on your screen, use the remote to scroll down to the OK option and select it.

    I burned my last dvd three days ago, running lion 10.7.3. The only thing I can think of is a software update done few days ago, something about java.
    Samsung says that lion isn't officially supported, but i've used it a lot and I know it works…
    Things that i've tried:
    1) reboot
    2) firmware update
    3) many different burning software including "drutil" from the shell
    4) I've tested the device on another computer (ubuntu 11) and it works like a charm

    Adding other info, it's getting even more weird...
    I've tried booting from an old snow leopard backup, and surprise... the devise still doesn't work!!! same error!
    It doesn't make any sense...
    It's not broken but both SL and Lion on my MBP refuse to burn DVDs (they both burned a lot of them with that device in the past).
    Same thing using the other USB burner borrowed by a friend, so i'm sure it's not a cable problem... what does remain? Mac's USB hardware failure? Impossible. On my SL backup there was installed Parallels desktop with an old ubuntu virtual machine configured, i've tried burning from it and it worked...
    OSX (LS or Lion) + My MBP + USB Burner = fail
    Ubuntu + My MBP + USB Burner = success
    Ubuntu + Another computer + USB Burner = success
    The could be some "broken" low level hardware bounded parameters, used only by OSX. I've already wiped NVRAM and PRAM, are there any other things i can try to wipe?

    connect it to a tv which support full hd and go into the settings and lower the resolution as much as possible and then connect it with your tv once more

  • Mac Mini HDMI - HDMI TV: Unsupported Signal

    I have had my Mac Mini connected to a Toshiba TV HDMI-HDMI for many years without a problem.
    I recently purchased a Sony Bravia TV and connected my Mac Mini to this using the same HDMI cable
    Initially I had no problems although the resolution was not as clear as I would have liked
    I tried to change the resolution using the Mac Mini display properties settings
    Shortly afterwards the screen went blank and the Sony Bravia displayed an error message saying "Unsupported Signal - Please Check Device Output"
    Oddly, when I restart the computer the screen appears to display fine but within a few seconds the screen goes black again with the same error message displayed
    I have been on the forums and have tried all sorts including restarting the mac in safe mode but to no effect (it works again briefly only to go black again)
    I have also connected it back to my old tv to change the resolution and refresh rates - I have tried all of these one by one and reconnected to my new tv only to experience the same problem.
    Please help!

    New here. I've just purchased 2 of the new mac minis, and 2 new LG 32" 1080p hdtvs (32LD450) for displays. They are for my new computer room for Christmas for my wife and I. But, with Best Buy's 14 day exchange policy, I hooked both of them up to see if the resolution was good, and too make sure both minis worked right. I went with the hdmi to hdmi setup, and when I turned on the minis and tvs, the page size was smaller than the screen size. I went into the preferences/display settings and 1080p was recognized. I kept this setting, and 'under scan' setting was available. I messed with that a little, but could not get it perfect. Then, I pointed my cursor over the bottom right corner drag and pull tab, and adjusted the page to full screen. The page size and resolution is perfect now. One thing, though... It seemed that whenever I switched to a different app that several times I had to adjust by the bottom right corner page pull tab to get those page sizes perfect also. But after I adjusted it one time, it was set every time when I went to that app again. I'm pretty sure that everyone who has had the page size/fitting screen issue has tried the page pull tab, but this seemed to work for me.

    I have a new youview box and I want to use it with my Sony KDL-40EX700 TV using HDMI. While booting, the TV displays unsupported signal check device output for a while, then it displays YOUVIEW logo and writes Nearly Ready underneath. After a short while it again goes back to unsupported signal check device output. When I connect using video output it works. I can set the HDMI output resolution to 1080i or 720p using the analog video cable, but when I switch back I still get unsupported signal, check device output. 
    I have seen several people having similar problems before. Is this not resolvable?

    I've got exactly the same issue, waited two weeks for the update as this was meant to fix the issue but makes absolutely no difference, I rang support and got a fob off answer "we are aware of the problem and are looking in to it"(I get the feeling as he was somewhere not in the UK! he hasn't even seen a YouView box) I myself work as a technical support engineer and my Boss wouldn't have been impressed to say the least if I ever gave that answer to any of our customers.
    I get the feeling that BT/Humax expect everyone to go out and buy a new TV that might work with the HDMI issue which is stupid as I and I suspect alot of other customers left Virgin or other services to sign up to BT & YouView to save money only to be extremely dissapointed -  I 'm going to give it a month if there hasn't been a firmware to finally fix the issue on HD Televisions, I'll move to Talk Talk as they use Huawei boxes

  • Can I use the Chrome for iOS app with Chromecast?

    I recently purchased a Chromecast for my home television to see how it stacks up to the Apple TV3 (which I also have). I see very clearly that Netflix and YouTube are well integrated for use with this dongle but I do not see that Chrome for iOS is (on iPhone or iPad). It seems counterintuitive to not have the Chrome iOS app work with Chromecast even though other iOS apps do (Netflix;Youtube). Can anyone confirm or deny whether or not we can, or in the near future be able to, use the iOS Chrome app with Chromecast? It is in this very department that AppleTV has the Chromecast beaten, among others.
    Also, Google Groups seems difficult to navigate in order to post my question there. If anyone has any insight for that as well I would greatly appreciate it.

    Google has made an App specifically to control the ChromeCast from an iOS device rather than integrating the control into the Browser.

  • ITunes Seem to Have Suddenly Stopped Communicating With the CD/DVD Burner

    Hello, I wonder if anybody can help - my itunes application seems to have suddenly stopped communicating with my laptop's cd/dvd burner
    (Generic Name (E: H - T-S D D A S - 20N ATA Device)).
    About 2 years ago, I have experienced a similar problem, but was able to resolve it by downloading 64-bit compatible GEAR drivers to my system. However, the problem has re-appeared when I have updated to iTunes Version 10.1. Funny enough, the cd/dvd burner started getting recognized again when I updated to iTunes Version 10.2, but halfway through me burning a large playlist to multiple cds has suddenly stopped recognizing the cd/dvd burner again, and has never "resolved itself" ever since.
    I have tried multiple approaches to solving this issue, including completely re-installing itunes software and completely re-installing GEAR drivers, but nothing works. I have even tried uninstalling GEAR drivers completely, as I read that it worked for someone on one of the similar forums, but that didn't work either.
    My itunes diagnostics runs all the points of the cd/dvd drive check successfully, except for the last point (Can Not Read Audio CD). Here's what the diagnostics summary looks like:

    I have noticed that the diagnostics summary containes a suggestion to update firmware of my laptop's cd/dvd drive, but currently there are no such firmware updates available.
    Another frustrating issue that I ran into was trying to convey this issue to Apple Technical Support via e-mail using the Express Lane for the troubleshooting issues. I really fail to understand why I am being asked for the "hardware serial number" when I'm clearly choosing the categories for "iTunes/CD-DVD Import Issues" which are software, not hardware, categories! This prevents me from being able to simply send the description of my problem to the correct Apple Support department, and does not let me do that even when I enter my itunes' Serial Number, which can be found in the diagnostics summary provided above.
    Much Thanks to anyone who can provide any kind of helpful advice, even if it's just on how to be able to convey this problem to Apple Support via e-mail!

    Is that true? Or do you in fact have a Windows user account with full administrative rights?
    (It's possible that a permission may have gone astray in your usual user account, which might be causing the burning issues.)

    i have a pci 6013 (8 input channel) and pci 6711 (4 outpout channel).Then i need to send a ttl signal to a camera ccd to take a photo when a waveform sinus is equal at zero (rising), but when i send this TTl signal with dasylab using generator pulse or combi trigger and readind this signal, i have difference between dasylab pulse(that is exactly) and measurement pulse that is approximate 40ms after.But i need to have less than 10ms is it possible?

    You just have to reduce your block size to 10 !

    hii...
    I've a student project to read and write data from a continous signal with labVIEW.. I'm going to read the system for 24/7, The reading program already finished.
    The problem is in the writing procces.. I have no idea how to write data to file with low level vi.. I'm new in LabVIEW and I already try some modification to my program but it still don't work as i want.
     I want the writing procces only occur when i press the button and it only run for a few second with constant time stamp.. It just to check if there are any data missing or not.. The system are a fast (It's what make problem bigger).
    I'm getting crazy at all.. If some one could help me i will be very grateful... I'm using LabVIEW 8.5 and PCI 6259...

    here's the two-loop version...
    When you use the local you wouldn't need the queue at all... But using locals may lead to race conditions (not in your simple vi, but general) - locals don't provide "atomic" data access.
    In Labview the wire is equivalent to variables in text programming languages!
    The vi uses the producer-consumer-scheme (Erzeuger-Verbraucher-Struktur ?): one loop is producing values, the other is consuming them. It's a common scheme in LV programming, you will find examples and a lot of threads here in the forum.

    This is a charge accelerometer. It is different from the IEPE accelerometers that outputs a voltage signal.
    You need a charge amplifier. Then according to the charge amplifier output we can select an appropriate module to measure the signal.
    It is not possible to measure charge accelerometers with NI 9234 directly.

  • Losing Wi-Fi signal with cell signal simultaneously

    I'm in a crap area. I have 1 bar of 1x data where I am located. To counter that I have Wi-Fi. I'm the only user of the Wi-Fi and it's secured as well. My problem is my Wi-Fi connection on my phone disappears completely if I lose that one bar of 1x signal. I am able to reload my web pages while I have no signal with the tiny little no smoking sign at the top of my screen, but as soon as that one bar comes back, I lose all signal on Wi-Fi all over again!! It happens 1,324,501 times a day (that's a sarcastic count) but it leaky does happen extremely frequently. It happened 3 times just trying to your this on my phone. I've already deleted the Wi-Fi settings on my phone multiple times and reboot my router multiple times as well. How can I fix? ?
