Hi. I purchased nokia lumia 720 few days back. Sometimes it vibrates even without touching and hangs. I also get a message that your device requires calibration. Please help.

Hey all. My phone is not a brick. I did the hold down volume down, shut off switch AND camera button trick. Then I had to turn it on and do the old volume up, volume down, turn on switch, volume down trick. It's back up and updating after a hard reset.
Earpiece still does not work. Camera is still a no go also. **bleep** Nokia?

hi mate, in this case, you need to persist with Nokia Care until the issue is resolved to your satisfaction. if there are still problems occurring, then you should contact Nokia in your country directly and tell them what has happened. Nokia Care outlets are run independently of Nokia and are franchises.

Fm radio not working in my lumia 720

My phone in nokia Lumia 720. In the music and video there is fm radio app but when I trying to open which after connecting headphone , it can not tune any station and hence only noise in hear.. Is how I fix it? Is it software problem or hardware????

When did the issue begin to start to happen? Were you able to listen to a music or video using your headset? Have you tried to use another headset? What are the fixes that you have done so far to resolve the issue?
Make sure that the headset is properly inserted into the headset port as it will serve as the antenna. Also try to use another headset for us to isolate the issue.
In the meantime, connect your headset to your phone, go to Music+Videos > Radio > Tap and hold anywhere on the screen, select Settings > Select your region. If your region is not listed, you may select "World". If it will not work, reboot your phone by pressing and holding both the volume down and the power keys until it vibrates. Then, try again.
Let us know the outcome.

Lumia 720 Jumping and Vibration issue.

Hi, my Lumia 720, bought 10 days back is automatically vibrating and jumping between windows, to bing and home screen, and stopping at app switcher screen or home screen, and touch stops working(display and 3 keys). It works only after I press power on/off. Initially its occurance was less frequent but now its more often. Did reset, contacted nokia care and they reinstalled the OS. Yet, its happening. Please advise on this.

My Lumia 720 which I bought recently suffers from a strange behaviour. It starts vibrating suddenly, wildly and on its own without any provocation and after jumping several screens in quick succession, stops at Bing. This activity lasts anywhere from 10 seconds to half a minute. During this time, everything that I have been doing, attending a call, writing email or whatever, stops and after this forced interruption, I am forced to go to Bing. I have tried various steps like setting Display+touch settings to normal ( from high) and stopped Bing from operating on its own, but the problem continues. Is it a hardware or oftware issue? I have also seen that there are several users experiencing this problem and reporting this issue for quite sometime. In any case, Nokia should be aware of this and issuing the approrpiate patch to correct this situation. I wonder, Is anybody at Nokia listening?

You can try to perform the soft reset again. If this would fail, below hardware key reset combination is what I can suggest. This deletes all the personal content of the phone.
Option 2: Hardware key combination
Use this option if the phone fails to fully switch on when pressing the power on key.
Note: No warning about data loss!
Nokia Lumia with Windows Phone 8
Step 1
Make sure the charger is disconnected.
1. Switch the power Off.
2. Press and hold the Volume down and connect the charger, if succeed an exclamation mark (!) is shown on the screen.
Step 2
Then input the keys in the following order:
1. Volume up
2. Volume down
3. Power
4. Volume down
Step 3
The phone will reset and boot up automatically. Please note that this may take several minutes.

i bought lumia 720 on 7-7-2013, after 2 days while using some apps, the screen freezes, everytime i have to do a reset. One more issue is the screen keeps moving on its own with vibration, it goes to bing page and then goes to home page, this happens continuosly, i have to hold the phone still for a while & then it stops, i called nokia cust care and then told me to submit in Bangalore Nokia care center. Apart from doing a hard reset is there any other troubleshooting, im a technical person too but unfortunately i cannot open this phone. Is there any other way to fix this issue. Im very much afraid of using heavy apps as the phones freezes......

Lumia 720 freezes and hangs

I have Nokia Lumia 720. I brought it 5 months ago march'14. It was working well for first 3-4 months but now it hangs a lot.
I even informed NokiaCare on twitter. They told me to restart, soft reset, hard reset, and even recovery via Nokia software tool. But it still keeps on hanging.
Didn't expected this. Please help!!

May be the cause, because this might be a rather old SIM. SIMs do fail after a certain amount of time. Furthermore, all Micro-SIMs are USIM. Windows Phone relies on a USIM heavily. A normal SIM can be a USIM or not. Micro-SIM makes that sure.
Therefore, please, ask your operator for a Micro-SIM are report back in any case: pass or failure.

The disturbing vibrations occur while operating the phone..absolutely disgusting this problem is..your phone simply vibrates and you can do nothing but wait till the vibrations stop and the screen goes back ,changes and what not during this..the only thing you could probably do is lock your phone..but that is not a solution..very poor and totally unexpected in a phone you buy after paying so much..moreover the newest discovery in the list of problems is freezing of the music player..not responding to volume adjustments..please look into all this..making me wonder if i did the right thing by buying nokia !

i intend to buy a 720 but this...
"I hate neither Windows 8 nor Nokia. But I really do hate their combination - Nokia Lumia 720. I own this phone for more than a month and now I really want to get rid of this. I want to dicuss only the cons of this phone, as all the pros (if there is any) will be ignored with the intensity of the cons.
1. No dedicated folder structure. Nothing like a "Gallery" or "My Files". So there is no question of copying files from one folder to another because there is no folder at all.
2. Its true than you can use a external memory card. But the only action you can perform on the files in your memory card is delete. No copy , paste or even "Rename". If you have to do any of these you have to connect the phone to a Computer.
3. Yes, Bluetooth is there. But you cannot rename your bluetooth. Ok fine. What is there in a name! But what happens to the files you recieve via bluetooth. If you are lucky, you will find them in your "Saved Pictures" . But in most the cases you wont see your recieved files at all.
4. You cant download a video file. Its true that there are you tube downloader applications. But you can view these videos only within these apllications . You cant save them to your SD card. Some may ask what is the big issue in it. But guys, these video applications use the phone's internal storage memory and eventually the phone begins to hang.
5. The most funny thing I found in this phone is "File multiplication". Suppose you took a photograph or downlaoded a music file today. Tommorrow you can see 2 copies
of it in your phone. The next day 3, then 4 and so on. But if you delete any one of these, all will be gone Dont think that any virus has affected my phone. Bacuse form day 1 its so.
(Combining points 4 and 5 together and a previous comment. Somebody said its possible to download videos using UC browser. First thing , UC Browser for windows itself is a piece of **bleep**. It hangs every 1 minute. Second, if you download a video and export it your phone, sometimes it gets exported and sometimes not. If luckily it got exported, it begins to multiply as I said in point 5)
6, The battery. With the internet and all the background tasks OFF, and with no live tiles on the home screen, the maximum time I got with the battery is 11 hours. If i turn all features on, it drains in 5-7 hours.
7. You cannot open the PDF or .txt files present in your SD card. Only those PDF files you download via internet can be opened. Again you cannot PDFs you download in your SD card.
8. Applications can be saved to phone only, not in SD card.
9. I still dont know what is happening to my internal memory and what is occupying it. Anyway its full now. And only thing I could do is to uninstall the present applications.
10. These comments are from my experience for more than a month. Today I dont have this phone to experience not bacause I sold it, but because its dead now. For any other phone you can try removing the battery, re-inserting it and restarting. But what can you do with this internal battery?????
Again I want to tell you an awkward experience with this phone. I am a techie and has a habit of listening to music while coding. One day in office, I connected the Nokia headset and started the music. But music was playing via loudspeaker only. It was not recognizing the headset at all. I tried to stop the music. But none of the keys worked, Not the pause button, not the volume keys, not the back button. I tried to switch the phone off. But it didnt work either. I had to cover the loudspeaker with my fingertip for about 10 minutes helpless and suddenly the phone switched off. With relief I removed my fingertips and I couldnt believe what happened . Music was still being played from the Switched Off phone. Again for the next 2-3 minutes I had to cover the loudspeaker before the music stopped. I switched it ON again only after reaching home. If I had sold the phone that day itself. I wouldno have to keep a dead phone now in my hands."

Lumia 720 vibration too too low

I have a LUMIA 720 and its simply awesome.
But I have an issue.
When in office, I usually put my phone on virbation only. Now if I put my phone on the desk, the vibration is so so so so damn low I can hardly feel it, only when the phone is in hand I can feel the vibration else I keep missing calls.
Is there a way to increase the vibration intensity? I just keep missing calls

I had the same problem with my Lumia 920 and it's now in Nokia Care hands to solve it (second time, because they fixed the GPS issue first and didn't do anything about the vibration).

I bought a new Lumia 720 from Spice Mobile Nokia dealer about 4 days ago and it has started giving problems now. My phone went dead even with full battery. It was really unexpected and disappointing that you buy a Rs. 18000 phone with no reliability of the phone or service. The dealer shirks of his earlier claims that he will replace my phone in the first 7 days of anny problem. He now clearly says no - such cheats you have your dealers as. They dont even know your policies or give false claims - marring your reputation in the market. Then I went to Nokia Care center only to find that they treated me with no sympathy but rudely to tell me that the phone can have such issues and that they dont have any policy to replace the phone. What they did only was to update the software and told me that the phone is fixed. But I have been finding this problem of the phone getting dead almost every day. After it is dead and we try to open it with all 3 buttons, it removes all my previous messages and calls data from the phone memory. It hangs at times when many applications are open. How unreliable it could be!! Or is it so badly that LUMIA works unlike shown in its advertisements?
Why the hell would I want to get my phone repaired right in the first week? Why cant Nokia do enough testing before releasing its handsets or just replace the phone when it is found faulty.
I have decided that if Nokia does not replace my phone now even, I will move to the Consumer Court against both Nokia and its dealer.
Please contact me asap if you want to save a particular consumer community. Yes, I am really frustrated by your product and service.

Nokia Lumia 720 Hanging & Display

My phone doesnt seem to be working... Need help!
Just Opened my red Lumia 720 1 hr back. Checked it out... it was 100% Fine.
I was using it while charging... and without a sim.
Then I Switched it off...("goodbye" was displayed) and then removed the charger... again "Nokia" was displayed. When I tried to start again i dont see the display lighten up but the 3 buttons seems to produce vibration... all without a display...
is my phone ok? Am I doing something wrong?

Good day! my Lumia 720 hanged 2 times already and i cant get rid of it, i can't turn it off, nothing at all. The first time it happens i waited for it's battery to drain, and then i charged it and then it became functional again, that was 4 weeks ago, then it happens again today, guess i will wait for it's battery to be drained again. My Question, what is wrong with this phone? and what can i do to get rid of this "Hanging issue"?

A soft reset should work in this situation: Press and hold volume down and the start button until the phone shuts off?
I have seen this on my 720 a couple of times since the Cyan update. Do not know why it happens, and have not been able to reproduce a sequence to trigger the hang, but I am waiting for a new graphics driver and/or an update to touch.

Lumia 720/520 Availabilty and Price in Singapore, ...

All the news articles about Lumia 720 and 520 say that the phones will be available first in Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong in Q1/March 2013 - which would mean, well, right now.
The Nokia's Singapore & Vietnam web sites already display information about these 2 models, but have no mention about the price or whether they are actually on sale in their countries' stores already. The Hong Kong web site still has not update.
Anyone know if the actual phones are already on sale in stores in those countries and what are the prices?
