Sudden WHIP error on Autocad for mac
Hello,
I have a Mac Book Pro Version OX 10.9.4 with an 2.9 GHz Intel Core 7 and an Intel HD Graphics 4000. I am on warranty still.
I was using Autocad 13 perfectly until suddenly it collapsed and I started getting this WHIP error message. I did some research and it says it is because the compatibility of the "Graphical Card". But I havent changed the graphical card so I am not sure why is happening suddently.
I restarted my computer already and uninstalled the program and re installed like it recommends in some websites it but no luck. I am desperate.
Another thing happening weirdly lately with my mac is that sometimes the cursor of my mouse gets this lines around it... like horizontal lines that cross the arrow and follow it everywhere.
It may not be the same thing but also searching in the forums seems again a "Graphical Card issue"
And on top of that when I move the computer sometimes... i hear a weird click noise from the inside.
Can all of this be related?

They could be connected. If you live near an Apple Store, make a Genius Bar appointment to have the computer tested. Supposedly there is no charge for testing. Use 2nd link if not near an Apple Store or aren’t in the US. Better to have it checked while your are still under warranty.

AutoCAD for MAC works great on the LAPTOP SCREEN ONLY on my Late 2011 MBP with 8GB RAM. It is locked to the Laptop Screen and will not move to the connected 30" Cinema Display.
Caveat: I would much rather use all MacPro's, but sadly Autodesk is a crap company. They buy other great companies, pick apart their great software, give it to marketing, and split it into 3 applications that don't even like eachother. (REVIT, ALIAS, MAYA, INVENTOR, and more)... Most function under Boot Camp, most are at best a hassle under parallels, although they claim in works perfectly. Essentially, until Autodesk has had a new acquisitions product for 2 to 3 generations, it is going cause hair-pulling. When they finally convert it to their "somewhat" unified interface, it will always fail on Service Pack 1, and finally work again on Service Pack 2 - This is a big deal, as they are trying to create a universal "Materials and Products" database, and often, installing a new Autodesk product, or applying a service pack breaks the entire database for all applications, causing a huge headache. They are losing so much market to the competition, they are buying up the little guys, and rapidly releasing no-new-features, break-your-current-installs annual updates. The ONLY bonus - so many engineers are fed up with needing 10 products to conquer 1 problem, that Autodesk is being forced to reduce their prices by about 70% to stay in the running, and more price cuts are on the horizon. -
Mavericks causing errors in Outlook for Mac
Since installing Mavericks, Outlook for Mac 2011 is having problems with pop mailboxes on three different servers. Connection errors are being reported avey ten minutes regarding server timeouts, connection has been dropped, server not found. Prior to install there were only sporadic messages like this, mainly with IMAP connections. This time, IMAP connections are not causing the errors, but all my different POP servers. Is anyone else having these problems?
Seach is based on Spotlight index. Mavericks should have re-indexed your entire drive after installing. If it's still running you might want to see if search starts working in Outlook. Otherwise you need to reindex your entire drive. This can take overnight.
You can tell if it's still in progress by simply looking at the Spotlight menu: There's a blinking dot in the middle of the magnifying glass while indexing is occurring. You can also open Activity Monitor in Applications/Utilities and type in md in the search filter. You should see mdworker32 and mdworker. The mdworker32 is the Outlook Spotlight index and mdworker is for system.
Until this process is finished, Spotlight won’t know the contents of your disks and neither will Outlook. All lists like contacts, events, notes etc. are generated by the Spotlight searches.
Rebuilding should never be done to fix issues like this. Rebuilding can result in data loss.
HOW TO RE-INDEX YOUR SPOTLIGHT CACHE FILES
Option 1)
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
* Click Spotlight.
* Make sure Messages & Chats is checked under the Search Results tab.
* Click the Privacy tab.
* Drag your drive and/or Identity to the list. Wait a couple of minutes.
* Remove the item you added.
* Spotlight will re-index the contents of the item you initially dragged to the list.
Option 2)
In Lion/Mountain Lion, there is an additional Repair Permissions application utility hidden away. This tool is located inside boot Repair Utilities. Here's how to access it.
1 Restart and hold down the Command and R keys.
2 You will boot into the Repair Utilities screen. On top, in the Menu Bar click the Utilities item then select Terminal.
3 In the Terminal window, type resetpassword and hit Return.
4 The Password reset utility launches, but you¹re not going to reset the password. Instead, click on the icon for your Mac's hard drive at the top. From the drop-down below it, select the user account where you are having issues.
5 At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled 'Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs'. Click the Reset button there.
The reset process takes a couple of minutes. When it¹s done, quit the programs you've opened and restart your Mac. Notice that 'Spotlight' starts re-indexing immediately.
Note: you might want to use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions and Repair Disk while booted from the Repair Drive. -
How do I avoid continuous Autosave errors in Numbers for MAC 03?
When I start a new spreadsheet in Numbers for MAC 03, after a few keystrokes, I get the error message 'The document "mySpreadsheet" could not be autosaved. It has been changed by another application.' Of course I click "Save Anyway", but the message reappears after a few more keystrokes. There is no other application involved with this document.This is extremely annoying and impedes progress. I saw a discussion about the same problem occuring with Pages. The thread mentioned something about iCloud, but there was no resolution suggested. I do have iCloud enabled on my system, but I don't specify saving to iCloud - I specify to save it on my Deskltop. I have an iMAC with OS X 10.9.1. Help!!

Thanks for responding to my question. As is often the case when one iss attempting to demonstrate an issue, today I can't repeat the problem. Even with files that were previously exhibiting it. So what changed? I was having problems witth my Carbonite backup because of Kaspersky Internet Security for MAC. I eliminated Kaspersky from my login startup apps, rebooted my machine, and reinstalled Carbonite (it couldn't find its server before). Now Carbonite is working, and I don't have the Numbers autosave problem. After my backup completes, I will restart Kaspersky and see I can reproduce the autosave problem. The strange thing is the autosave problem occured before I installed Kaspersky in the first place. I don't understand how any of this had anything to do with autosave, but I am thankful that my machine is better behaved for now.
I don't have Stuffit Expander installed, but why did you suspect it?
I will continue, and if the problem re-occurs, I will try the Save to Documents instead of Desktop and let you know. Thanks again. -
Installation error - PSE 11 for mac

This week I've bought the Photoshop Elements 11 for mac. Yesterday I tried to install the programm from the DVD but erverytime there is an error at the end of the process (99%). "Please verify that the disk image is not corrupt AdobePhotoshopElements11_core.dmg"
Whats that? Is there a possibility to get a new disk? I've saved the error logscreen for further informations.

Downloading Error Photoshop CC for Mac - Not permission to write to file

I've purchased a Adobe Creative Cloud membership and I'm trying to download Photoshop CC for Mac.
It keeps telling me:
You're not allowed to write to Users/Alex/Library/Application support/Adobe. Please provide write permissions for this folder and try again.
Any ideas to how to solve this and continue with the download?

You may need to unlock this ability (there's a "lock" icon lower right). If your user doesn't have Admin status, you'll need to get the Admin to do this for you. -

Please try the below mentioned steps:
1. Navigate to Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE and rename it to OOBE.old
2. Navigate to Application/Utilities and remove Adobe Application Manager and Creative Cloud folder.
3. Open Activity monitor and close any Adobe processes running.
4. Restart your machine and try installing CC desktop.
Please let me know whether it worked.

I am running Mountain Lion on a MacBook Pro Early 2011. I had the latest version of Office for Mac installed when it chrased.
I really need some help to solve this problem. Suddenly, my office for MAC chrashes on startup. It applies to all office programs (Word, PowerPoint and Excel). When I try to start either up, Microsoft Error Reporting immediately shows up.
It is definitely worth mentioning that I also fiddled with the Microsoft User Data folder, which to my much annoyance places itself in the "Documents" folder on the mac and REFUSES to go away. Then I placed it in the library preference folder and it hasn't returned since, but the problem might or might not be related to that... Who knows. I think I did a lot of damage when moving that folder around. And I really think it is related to the problem.
I have earlier, leading up to this, experienced problems in connection to a file/document or something called "Normal"(??)
About two months ago. I removed Office for Mac and did a clean install. However the problem returned after about 6 weeks.

Crashed thread: 0I too am having similar issues. I had Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac on auto update. The 2nd to last update (the latest update was ironically and error reporting update for Mac!) is what caused the problem as everything was working find until then.
Work, Excel and Power Point will load to about 44% and then crash. It appears to have also affected Microsoft Silverlight as Netflix will not play content on my computer anymore and says there is a DRM error (Digital Rights Management).

Background Details
I just wasted thousands of dollars on these two hardware devices by making the rookie mistake of assuming projects were compatible across iMovie applications. However, the exported .iMovieMobile project files are in an incompatible iMovie for iOS Project format that iMovie for Mac cannot import. So I am stuck with a 15 GB .iMovieMobile project file--for an hour-long+ video--that I created and I was editing on my iPhone for weeks that I can no longer edit on my iPhone due to an error, nor potentially rescue the lost hours on my Mac, the sole reason I purchased it one day ago. The reason I can no longer edit the project on the iPhone is because iMovie for iOS suddenly stopped displaying the video of the project in preview, external display, etc. The clip snapshots remain visible and the audio remains audible, but the video appears fully black. Any attempt to export the video at any resolution generates an error message. (This error applies only to this project; other projects export without issue.) I can save to and from iTunes or iCloud without issue, but import into iMovie for Mac is unavailable for this latest version. Deleting and reinstalling the app does not resolve the issue. Nothing has resolved this issue; so I purchased the Mac as a last attempt, and it appears that I will have to begin the meticulously painful process of recreating the video from scratch with all the titling, sound effects, precise edits, transitions, organization, etc. This video was to surprise my mother for her birthday with "this is your life" footage, including my late father. It may seem like a small first-world problem, but such things carry big emotional impacts. What began as such a wonderfully intuitive and joyful experience has descended into a soul-suffering nightmare of catastrophic proportions. This software grinch stole christmas.
Likely Suspect
I believe this originated from Apple's confusingly designed iTunes client that removed videos used by iMovie for IOS during a sync, which I successfully restored back to the iPhone. This apparently resulted in iOS seeking and then claiming to find all of the videos, but somehow a bug in the coding causes the audio to play but not display video, and no way to resolve the bug from an enduser standpoint. I was hoping that iMovie for Mac would allow me a workaround, but I'll never know because the iOS and Mac formats are currently and dishearteningly incompatible.
Suggestions
I never performed a full backup of the iPhone, but I don't believe any of the iCloud nor local backups actually backup iMovie projects themselves anyway. (That's a fail.) So one must back them up manually to iTunes or iCloud.

As unlikely these options may be, I shudder to imagine that I may be forced to suffer no resolution and $3,000+ completely down the drain, because if iMovie for IOS worked as intended, I wouldn't have ever purchased the Mac as a last ditch effort to rescue the project. It meant that much to me to surprise my mother by attempting to retrieve this project file from oblivion--but to no avail.I appreciate you taking the time to copy and paste boilerplate responses to increase your points in this forum, but I've already read all those support articles in depth; but you have barely read my post at all. Please don't guess a fix. Only someone with the latest versions of iMovie, iOS, iPhone, Yosemite, and MacBook Pro is qualified to troubleshoot this, because anyone would immediately see that the following option no longer exists:
Open iMovie on your Mac, and choose File > Import > iMovie for iOS Project.
Read my post before you reply: It clearly says in the title and within my post that I can neither export nor import through iTunes without receiving an error message. So your response neither solved my question nor helped me whatsoever. -

i have a macbook pro 2011 and office 2011 for mac it is installed on my computer and works great on my moms account but not on my admin account itkeps showing an error. it worked great for a while then all the sudden it just stopped. i created an account for my mom even after it stopped working and then one day i saw her using it under her account so i logged off her name (not switched but logged off) and logged on to mine and still the error occured! i now have 3 accounts on my mac my moms my girlfriends and mine. i am the soul owner and administrator of this macbook. office 2011 works on both of theirs but not my account. please help! thanks for the prompt response...i appreciate it. according to the link you listed, that's correct. the strange thing is that prior to the upgrad to mac os 10.8.4, photoshop CS5 was working just fine and i was able to open my canon raw files with my current camera raw plug-in version 6.7 which adobe has indicated is the last camera raw update they'll be offering for cs 5
so it's clearly an issue related to the "upgrade" of the os. seems like every solution creates 6 new problems...further evidence for the notion that if it ain't broke don't fix it! thanks again. -

I keep receiving this error and then Photoshop crashes. Has anyone encountered this issue and if so how did you resolve it? As long as this driver is installed on my mac pro, Photoshop continues to crash. If I uninstall the driver, Photoshop works fine.
