Suddenly cannot send via Yahoo.

I have had Yahoo accounts since the dawn of time, since OS9 to be exact.
So why does Mail suddenly decide it cannot see or gets rejected passwords for sending Yahoo mail?Receive is ok. I can log on the web-based service with the same password. My keychain seems ok. I have done nothing to harm it.
What is going on?

This has now degraded to having problems retrieving.
I seriously doubt that it is my settings, as sometimes if I manually trigger a retrieval it works without doing anything else. Therefore it is not even the corruption of the settings to some broken fixed state.
But then that is for one Yahoo account. The other one does not let this happen today. Yesterday both were fine. The day before the one working manually was not ok.
My Entourage is DONKEYS, I mean 2001, and Entourage, while not perfect, was pretty stable and at least allowed me to send and receive my mail (duh).
It is a shame we have to take Mail3 when we move to Leopard as a +fait accompli+ instead of being able to hang back with Mail2. Mail2 was pretty predictable and got me off Entourage. I am seriously considering moving back to Entourage.
Apple should unbundle in some way so we can step forward on things like Mail, iDVD, iMovie, iPhoto etc etc app by app instead of this Communist "all or nothing take it or uninstall the entire OS release" approach we currently have.
Does anyone know how to fall back to Mail2 even?

I have starter 3.0 and cannot share pictures via outlook express. Evidently that version is discontinued and my outlook express does not support the MAPI that is required. I think the only solution is to upgrade to photoshop
elements or to send photos as attachment to your e-mail.  I have the same problem using Zoom Browser EX sending photos via internet. I spent a whole day trying to resove this issue and have exhausted all options. Just like "Instant share" in HP image Zone that was replace by photoshop album starter 3.0 and now it is out dated.

I have a large PDF that I cannot send via email because of its size, 76 MB. How do I shrink this file or convert it to another format so I can email this, less than 20MB? Thanks for your help

Open the file in Preview and select "Save as..." from the File menu. Select "Reduce File Size" from the Quartz Filter menu and save. The size probably won't be reduced enough, though. You may have to split the file into several parts and mail them separately. Or upload it to a web server and send the link.

  • Cannot use Adobe Reader "Mail" button to send via Yahoo mail.

When trying to use the "mail" button in Adobe Reader (or do File -> Send File...) to send the file via Yahoo e-mail, I get the following error:
"An unknown error occurred while uploading the attachment."
    Adobe Reader 11.0.10 for Windows.
Getting this error only on Yahoo e-mail accounts
Getting this on multiple Yahoo accounts on multiple PC's.
All PC's have current versions of Reader (11.0.10), all Windows 7/IE11 with current patches.
A client of ours was using this until last week, when it stopped working.
It is not working on any PC right now with Yahoo mail.

    Hi johnc46494667,
Please let me know whether you are getting this error since an Adobe Reader update.
Are you signed out of other accounts (except yahoo)?
Does this happen with every PDF file or any particular one?
    Hope to hear from you.

they are running 2 different PC's
    One - Vista - IE 9
    Other - XP  - IE 8
out of nowhere we cannot send any JPG photos to each other.  All of us have tried installing the latest Skype by unistall- then reinstall.
I have even tried temp folder deletions in app_data related folders per PC.
Virus scanners have been disabled, still nothing works.
I can send any other file format with zero issues, photos, instant fail.  not even a fail, it simply acts like I never attempted to send anything.
No error messages, no ! marks, just nothing.  I've tried drag and drop JPG , I've tried the attach button, I get jack.

    Next reset LAN settings:
Open Internet Explorer. Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN settings. Make sure that the only option selected is “Automatically detect settings”.
Next clear all Temporary Internet Files:
Open Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> General. In the section “Browsing history” press the “Settings” button and in the next window the “View files” button. Delete all files from the Temporary Internet Files folder.

  • Suddenly cannot send email from MSOffice 2010

Starting Thursday, I began getting a pop-up box in Outlook (MSOffice for Home and Business 2010) regarding my password. Thinking I had been hacked, I changed the password but continue to receive the error.  Since then, I have been able to receive, but not send emails from Outlook.  I am not having any problems on my iPhone, iPad, or iCloud.com with sending or receiving my me.com emails.  In Outlook, i am not having any problems sending/receiving from my gmail account.
Today I deleted the account from Outlook, then added it back.  It is saying it cannot send the test email:
Cannot send the message.  Verify the email address in your account properties.  The server responded: 530.5.7.0 No STARTTLS command has been given.
based on that, i tried using the email address as   icloud.com instead of me.com but get the same error message.
When i open the icloud control panel it says that iCloud is not set up in Outlook.  I activate it and it shows as set up, but then when i open Outlook, the icloud control panel goes back to showing that it is not set up in Outlook.
    Help!!

Sadly, this is still not working.  I did fix the In and Outbound server names, but I have some questions about how to configure the rest per the settings you directed me to.
I have attached images showing you how I am configured now and I am still getting the same error message indicated above when I attempt a test.  The outbound email is still not working.
If I select requires authentication I get the following error when trying to use it.
For the Outgoing server, if i try SSL or TLS or Auto, I get the following error when trying to use it.

  • All of a sudden cannot send email from my Touch

When I try to send an email from my touch a popup appears, "Cannot Send Mail The sender address was invalid". I have not changed any settings, all was working fine earlier today.
I do still receive email ok.
I have an all Mac system, everything worked fine earlier. I can still send/receive email on my Mac.
Any recommendations on what could cause this? Thanks.

I fixed it. I read this link and it helped. It told me the settings for my Touch mail had to be the same as for my iMac mail. For some reason the SSL setting was different, which I changed and now it works again. If you have issues like this please try this link. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1426?viewlocale=en_US

  • Suddenly cannot send or receive mail

mail was working fine earlier in the day. updated to 10.4.10 the day prior. I had changed nothing with the mail preferences. but i am wondering if the problem has something to do with the update. I use cable internet that does not support mac mail!
    g3 pismo powerbook   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

It shouldn’t matter whether your ISP supports Macs or not. They should still be able to tell you what the right account settings are supposed to be, or whether they’ve made any changes that would explain why Mail suddenly cannot connect to the mail server now...
Open /Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access, choose Keychain First Aid from the application menu, and proceed to repair the keychain. If that doesn’t work, you may try removing the password entry from the keychain and letting Mail create it again the next time it asks for it.
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list. Leave checked (enabled) only the port configuration needed to connect to Internet and Built-in Ethernet (in that order if not the same), uncheck (disable) the rest of network port configurations and see whether that helps — if it doesn’t, turn ON again the ones you want enabled.
Try using a different method to connect to Internet, if possible, or connecting the computer to Internet as directly as possible (i.e. bypassing any routers that might be present, using an ethernet cable instead of wireless, etc.), or shutting down both the computer and the router/modem used to connect to Internet, restarting, and see whether that makes a difference.

  • Cannot send via webmail (SquirrelMail)

    Hi,
I am getting an error when any user tries to send an email via the web interface - SquirrelMail.
Message not sent: Server replied: Syntax error in parameters or arguments 501 5.1.7 Bad sender address syntax
The address I am sending to (and I have tried many of them) all work sending via the mail client. Any ideas?
    Nick

Thank you Cliff - that was indeed the problem. I was testing he Webmail interface from the server - using any other machine on the LAN or Web did not create the error.

  • Suddenly Cannot Send Emails with iPhone via Hotmail?

I have had my iPhone for 6 months and used it just fine to send and receive Hotmail and all of a sudden as of yesterday, I can no longer send messages but can still receive them. I get a message that says that a "Copy has been stored in my outbox. Sending message to server failed". I have been on the Internet for 3 hours and tried everything and nothing works. I know it is a Hotmail problem as I can send fine from my Gmail and Yahoo accounts via iPhone.
    Any ideas?

Solved thank you! It was in IIS. THe UploadReadAheadSize parameter was limiting to 50k the size of attachments. The fix, for us, to increase attachments size to 20meg is here:
    C:\Inetpub\AdminScripts>cscript adsutil.vbs get w3svc/UploadReadAheadSize
Microsoft (R) Windows Script Host Version 5.6
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation 1996-2001. All rights reserved.
The parameter "UploadReadAheadSize" is not set at this node.
    C:\Inetpub\AdminScripts>cscript adsutil.vbs set w3svc/UploadReadAheadSize "200000
    00"
Microsoft (R) Windows Script Host Version 5.6
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation 1996-2001. All rights reserved.
    UploadReadAheadSize : (INTEGER) 20000000
    C:\Inetpub\AdminScripts>
    No need to reboot.

  • TS3276 i suddenly cannot send any mail via my imac please help

i am unable to send any mail using apple mail. i have checked the all the settings and it seems to be correct. please help

Here's a troubleshooting article from Apple:  iOS: Troubleshooting Mail
It doesn't seem to cover your specific issue, but have you tried using a different network (either a different wi-fi network, or switching from wi-fi to cellular or vice-versa if you have a wi-fi+cellular iPad)?
For GMail, iCloud and Yahoo, copies of messages are stored on their respective servers, so you could try deleting the account on your iPad, then re-adding each account one at a time to see if that resolves the issue.

  • Suddenly cannot send Mail

I'm in a tech support loop. Qwest is my ISP, Emerald Webhost is my domain host. My outgoing SMTP server is mail.mydomain.com (at Emerald). Suddenly, a few days ago, I can no longer send mail via Apple Mail from my DSL connection. These two laptops can send using mydomain.com from other connection points (cafe's). The ISP and Webhost tech supporters cannot find any problems, so I turn to this forum.
Internet connection is fine - browsers all work as always.
    Incoming mail works as always.
Outgoing mail at my DSL connection returns the "cannot connect on server mail.mydomain.com . . ."
Get Mail before hitting the send button does not help.
Hard reset and reconfigure of the Qwest 2Wire modem did not help.
Same problem on wireless and ethernet at this DSL connection.
I'm using ports 110 and 26, as always.
Both Macs on this DSL connection developed the problem at the same time.
None of the modem or Network or Mail prefs/settings were changed on the Macs.
The laptops send just fine via the mydomain at other connection points (cafe's, libraries).
Reentering passwords in Mail Prefs and at mydomain did not help.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    -B

Many ISPs are refusing to pass mail to SMTP servers other than their own - when I am at our place in Laguna Beach I have to use the COX cable SMTP server for all of my outgoing mail - they will not let me connect to any of my POP account SMTP servers - have you tried using the Qwest SMTP server? that may be the answer
Since two Macs started having this problem at the same time that makes it look like a change on Qwest's part

  • TS3276 I suddenly cannot send e-mail messages. It takes hours to send. I haven't changed any settings.

My mail does not let me send messages. It can take hours for it to be sent. I have not changed any settings, it just suddenly started yesterday.

    Hi there Bahtat67,
If I understand correctly you can send mail without issue, but you cannot receive new email. I would recommend you use these steps specifically from the following article, named:
Get help with Mail on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
    Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Tap the affected email account.
    Tap Delete Account.
    Add your account again.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
