Suddenly cant access some folders on the server.

Cant access some shared folders on Windows Home server 2011 on Dell GX620
Suddenly some of the folders begin returning an error message. cant accesss \\SERVER|PICTURES You dont have permission... contact the system administrator.
But nothing had changed. It just decided to lock me out of those folders. If I go to the server, all the files are there and the user shows as having read/write access but it is still denied access to those folders. SOooo on the server I deleted the user
then added them back in and gave them read/write permission but that did not change anything. Same error. I was at a loss and could not access many of the folders so I just made duplicate folders with slightly different names then copied the old folders
to the new ones. I can access the new folders fine but the old ones still don't allow me access. Funny that not all of the shared folders are giving me this problem. Just the pictures, music and documents folders are denying me permission. I need to
fix this.

Before going further, would you please let me confirm if use the administrator account will encounter the same issue? Did you install any update or any other operations before issue occurred that you can remember?
Meanwhile, please navigate to those problematic folders, right click and select Properties. In Share tab, please check if the folder shared for the users correctly. In Security tab, please confirm related permissions again. Even if assign users
Full Control permission, will users sitll access deney? Please compare settings of the problematic folder with a good folder (which can be accessed), will you find any clues?
Please let me know the complete error message or provide a screenshot, it may help us to narrow down this issue.
By the way, when access the problems folder (such as picture folder), if type \\Server's IP address\picture instead of \\Servername\picture, please monitor the result.

I have problem accessing shared folder on the server machine from Windows 7 machine even if I try to access it with administrative privileges (server Administrator account). I will try now to explain better my situation.
In my company, we have small network infrastructure with one main server machine (HP ProLiant server) with Windows Server 2012 R2 installed and couple of desktop machines. The network is administrated by me.
On Windows Server we have installed and setup DHCP, DNS, Remote Access and Routing, File and Storage and Active Directory services. Desktop machines are having Windows 8.1 Pro, Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 Home Premium installed on them. In Active
Directory I have created domain, User groups and Users for employees in my company and so far, I didn't added desktop machines to the domain.
Also, I've created one folder on the server which should contain different projects data for network users and I have set access permissions and security for this folder and shared it on the network (I've added couple of users to one user group and I
gave Full control to this group over this folder). When I try to access this folder from network, I've been asked for login credentials (normally), where I just type in one of users username and password who has been given access permissions to (who is member
of group with full control over the folder). From Windows 8.1 Pro and Windows 8.1 machines I can access and work on this folder without any problems.
The problem comes with Windows 7 machines. On Windows 7 machines (I have also tried this with Windows 7 Ultimate in VMWare) I can access server, I can see its shares, but as soon I try to access folder I've created for projects, I get Access Denied message
with request for User login credentials. Whichever user account I use (even servers main Administrator account) I keep getting this message over and over and I'm unable to access it at all.
I have also tried to access the server through VPN (from local or outside) but I'm getting the same error again. Also I've tried to add these Windows 7 machines to the domain and login with domain user but the result is the same. Turned off both firewalls
(on server and desktop machines, which I know is unnecessary, but lets try it), still same case. I've tried couple more things with registry editor on desktop machines which I found on different forums and websites but still no luck. And now I don't know
what else I can do.
Does anyone knows what's the problem here, have I set something wrong, have not set something I should?

Yes, the main issue is that we can see the folder when we access the server but we cannot access its contents from Windows 7 machines. I have tried on two machines, one with Windows 7 Home Premium version and the other one with Windows 7 Ultimate version
and the situation is the same.
As you recommended, I've checked Network Discovery and File and Printer Sharing and the situation is next: File and Printer Sharing is turned on all layers (Private, Public and Domain) while Network Discovery is off for all layers too. I don't know if this
is normal thing but Network Discovery cannot be turned on in Windows Server (I'm able to select Turn on Network Discovery and apply the changes, but when I get back to this settings page, I again see that it's turned off, so I assume this can't be changed
at all).
I also tried with icacls in command prompt and everything seems to be ok there regarding permissions. Share permissions are set to Full control to Everyone and Security permissions are set to Full control only for Administrators and the user group I've created
for employees in my company. The confirmation for this is that on Windows 8 machines you can access this folder without any problem and without getting any message connected with access permissions with any user account within this user group. This share is
created through File and Storage Services service in Server Manager panel.
And then something came up on my mind. I went in Server Manager to check shared folder settings in File and Storage Services and under Settings page I saw that "Encrypt data access" has been enabled (I enabled this option because I thought
I will get more security with this option). I asked my self what would happen if I disable it, tried it and now everything works ok on Windows 7 machines too. Now I assume that Windows 7 doesn't have this feature implemented or there are some
settings which needs to be set on Windows 7 machines to make this encryption thing work with Windows Server. So basically, I will let this feature off for now until I find out more about it and how to implement it to work with all operating systems.

I've been building a site in Muse successfully until today when I get this error message in the browser, publishing to business catalyst as a test bed:

Clearing the cache has no effect and I have checked the assets and there are no error symbols. This happened after trying a google translate code in the <head> and a HTML snippet on the master template, I've since removed it but that the last action I took that I can think may have had an effect.
Viewing the source of the page in Safari hash;t helped other than it shows ALOT of html (including some elements i can;t relate to in my site design) and states there are three errors:

I started this site in Muse CC and then recently upgraded to Muse CC 2014, and I had install issues so deleted the original program (this then forced the download of the new version which was not automatically downloading even though CC notified me that an update was required.

Same problem here but it has nothing to do with a cellular connection.
Created the site http://www.blackdot.com in Muse 7.4.3 with no issues. Just updated the .muse file today to Muse CC 2014 and reloaded to our web server. Now I am getting the error "Some files on the server may be missing or incorrect." when viewing the site from the latest version of all browsers (Safari, Firefox, Chrome) on a Mac and all browsers on a PC (Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Explorer), also mobile Safari on an iPad.
My connection is wired broadband, not a mobile or wireless connection. I am not using the Muse "Upload to FTP host…" option and will not be using it. I am simply exporting as HTML and copying the files to my server. I have deleted all files from the web server and recopied the updated site with the same error result. This is the exact same procedure I used to load the initial site with the prior version of Muse.
It does not seem like there is an existing solution to this problem although many others are experiencing it. It looks like I will need to manually edit each page to remove the error message coding from the html files. Any tips on how to strip out the alert message from the html?
UPDATE
For anyone else experiencing this issue, I was able to edit the .html files for my site to remove the code responsible for this alert message. If you wish to edit your .html files you must make the same edit to every .html file in your site export including the top level "index.html" and all .html files inside the "tablet" and "phone" folders if you have them.
The coding to remove is at the bottom of each .html file:
(Muse.assets.outOfDate.length||Muse.assets.required.length)&&alert("Some files on the server may be missing or incorrect. Clear browser cache and try again. If the problem persists please contact website author.")
Make sure you do not remove any semicolons or braces {} when making this edit. Just remove the text shown above. You will obviously need to remake these edits if you export your site as HTML in the future.

1) Turn on Compatibilty mode
2) Security Options / Make it a local trusted site
3) Turn of Protected Mode in the browser under Security

Having launched a web site that looks perfect in the exported HTML. - When viewed online, I keep getting the message "Some files on the server may be missing or incorrect.........................Clear cache and try again....."
I have tried everything, even deleted all from the server, exported HTML anew, and uploaded again, but I am still receiving the same message. - Anybody have any idea on hoe to resolve this?

I have updated the Muse pages, exported the site and uploaded it several times via ftp: no result.
Even in Muse if I say: upload all the files: the upload gets stuck at the museoverlay.js gets stuck and won't upload the site...
What I think the best way is to redesign the whole site in the new Muse...not really looking forward to do that...

Your site (www.fvmdesign.nl) is published with Muse version 2014.2.1.284, but one of the files in the /scripts/ folder (jquery.museoverlay.js) was generated with Muse version 2014.1.1.276.
Each time you update Muse to a new version (e.g. from 2014.1.1.276 to 2014.2.1.284), please make sure you re-upload the "scripts" folder as well, as those libraries may change, or we may add new ones. If they are left out of date or if they are missing, you may experience random errors or weird behavior in your site. Also, each time you change a HTML page in Muse, it is a good idea to re-upload the CSS files that page is using.
Alternatively we recommend using the built in FTP Upload functionality that will take care of uploading obsolete files automatically, so you will not have to manually choose which files/folders to update.

I'm trying to get a blog module going, I've even deleted the html insert bog with the tag in and re-published which then I don't get the error but as a result no blog either. But then I add the tag in again and publish the error comes back. I've used the dev console and it says that my musicians sample.css is out of date but why is it only out of date when I add in html to my muse site?

I haven't received an answer as of yet, I'll post t on here when I do. I de-activated the mobile site because it's my clients site so he needs it to be operational during the day. I hope someone gives me an answer soon.

Sure you can, right click on required task that relates to the document, at the bottom on that menu you will see "Hyperlink". Click Hyperlink and a new window will open, in the new window in the "address" field type or paste in the web address / file share
address etc. Click OK then you will see a web link appear in the indicator column.

Thanks for the suggestion! I don't use Phantasm or VectorScribe (or any Astute Graphics plugins for that matter). I do, however, have a Wacom tablet and have a few plugins that concern using Blurb Book Creator as well as LiveSurface Context.
I did the very unfortunate and foolish act of upgrading to Maverick without a backup, so postponing isn't an option for me.
I geuss my question at this point would be, would it be worthwhile to wipe all the adobe products from my harddrive and re-install them? Or would that be a useless endeavor.
I don't have an external hard-drive so backing up and re-installing the entire OS would be a bit much. Any suggestions?

Cant access serviceability from one CUCM server to the next

If I log into my pub and serviceability, I try to access my other subs. I keep getting an error when trying to access the other servers from the drop down list. Although, everything is replicating throughout the cluster, I can log into another CUCM and only use serviceability for that one server also.
Im going to do a reset tonight on the cluster. the logs are clean and clear on RTMT on all servers. It's very odd. I thought maybe a security password would be wrong, but there are no errors anywhere on any server in the cluster.

Cisco Unified Serviceability pages Tools -> Service Activation or Control Center Feature or Network Services can not connect to other nodes in the cluster.When another node is selected the Status indicates Connection to the Server cannot be established (Unknown Error)
Conditions:
CCMService Tomcat logs indicates the following error message when attempting to connect to other nodes in the cluster,
{http://xml.apache.org/axis/}stackTrace:javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Certificate not verified.
Workaround:
We have the following workarounds
- Accessing SUB serviceability pages directly
- Restarting tomcat on PUB ( once ) after the upgradeFor SNMP configuration where same Community string needs to be added or modified on all nodes, again using a Subscriber node instead of the Publisher also seems to work in this case.

Clients accessing applications installed on the server

I am about to install a Mac mini server in a home environment with network user accounts and home directories of all users stored on the server. Ah! yes, centralized management of users and easy backup of ALL user home folders from a single location - sounds fantastic. That leaves only one caveat...
With network user accounts, a user can log into his / her account from any of the macs in the house and have access to his home folder but what good is this arrangement if a given application isn't installed on all the computers? How is this common scenario handled in a client server environment? Ofcourse, one could install the application on each individual computer which would be tedious or the application could be installed on the server. In the latter case, what about performance? I plan to connect all the stationary iMacs to the server with Powerline Ethernet (sorry, took the short cut, I wasn't about to open the walls to install proper Ethernet cabling :o)), The Powerline Ethernet solution gives me about 120Mbs speed (which is definitely better than Wi-Fi esp. in terms of reliability and availability - no Wi-Fi cut outs when the microwave goes on!).
I will have only two iMacs as clients (for now) + my MacBook Pro with portable home directory. Could I get away with installing some third party applications on the server (and avoid having to install it on both the iMacs)? Are there any issues with this approach - especially that they are third party applications and are not from Apple, will they behave as they should?
What's the advice?

Many applications install components elsewhere than just the application itself, and in most cases the application is hard-coded to look for those components in specific locations on the client workstation. With those components not on the client workstation, the application won't run. I'm guessing that this is the case with the applications you're having problems with and for those, without a lot of probably fragile work with symlinks, they're not going to run from your server. You'll probably need to install those applications on each client (I presume you already have sufficient licenses for each workstation, so it's just a matter of the work involved in the installation).

Unable to access gif files from the server

i have successfully signed an applet and it is loading in the client system also. in that applet, i instantiated a jbutton as given below:

but the icon din appear and a blank button appears, even when accessed from the server system.
if i give the exact path like c:/blazix/webfiles/success/ set.gif, the icon is coming in the server system but not in other systems. i tried without port no also but in vain. pl solve my problem. what i need is how to
specify the path of the file[any file] which is present in server.
or if i put all the gif files in the jar file, can i access the gif files present in the jar file [set for archive] ? if i can, give me the soln for accessing the gif file present in the jar file, so that i need not access the server to get the gif files.(i.e) how to specify the path of the gif files present in the jar file?
i ve one more doubt. the jni library file shld be in the server, and the client has to access the library in the server. i think the applet loaded in the client ll search for the library in the local m/c only . how to make the applet to search for library in the server??
i feel only by using rmi we can solve this problem. am i correct? if so i feel that an appln or applet running in the server shld access the jni library, and the applet in the client side should communicate with this server appln using rmi to get the data.is it correct? is there

Better information on what you are doing with JNI might help you get an answer.
If you have some server process that needs to use JNI, then I would code a servlet to call, instead of using RMI to ge there.
Depending on your environment, and the target audiences environment, RMI may just cause you a lot of grief. Firewalls etc, get in the way of RMI connections and force security holes to be opened in order to work.
If you use a servlet, then traffic to your server process is done via standard http calls, which will already be enabled, because your app runs in a browser.
If ther data requirements are heavy duty, your server could always send an XML stream to the client, which would allow you to describe complex data to the client.
Running JNI stuff from the client directly means a lot of local infrastructure to run your app. The code you want to run, the JNI library ....
If what you have is really an application, but want the convenience of starting it from a browser, look at Java WebStart. Then you can distribute an application via the browser, and WebStart will worry about the deployment issues for you.
In Summary:
Stay away from RMI from applets if you can help it.
If you really have an App, then try WebStart to manage the distribution issues for you.
