Suddenly Database access to users gets stopped

Hi All,
We are in big trouble. Actually we have one mobile web application hosted. We are using Oracle 10g. Application works fine for sometime but suddenly database access to users gets stopped.
We also have increased TEMP Table space. For now we are considering number of sessions getting established with Database as a cause for this problem. So please suggest me what are the things those may stop database access in such conditions. Which things I need to check to increase max number of users to database.
Or if you think there is some other cause for this problem kindly help me to resolve it.
Thanks & Regards,
Vinayak

Hi,
Yes I checked for exact location and it's C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\orcl\bdump.
I checked with alert logs there and I found error as below but don't know whether this error is cause for our problem,Please have a look;
Wed Mar 06 10:05:02 2013
ksvcreate: Process(m000) creation failed
but I don't think this error is cause for our problem, because latest error was on 06 March 2013 at 10:05 AM but we have faced this problem on yesterday for 14 times and those were number of times after morning 10:05 AM. For eg. 12:36,15:38,15:34,15:59,16:01 and more.... If this is the cause for our problem then there should be same error at mentioned times right?
please suggest what next I suppose to do.
Thanks
Vinayak

This will ensure that without knowing the password, person won't be able to connect.
That said, there is no stopping for the person who would be knowing the credentials of your o/s or sys user.

  • IPhone user getting BB network sync messages - wants them to stop

Hello everyone.  Just signed up here, happy user of Blackberry Tour 9630 with Bell Mobility in Montreal, Quebec, Canada for nearly two years.
HOWEVER, my current need for assistance has absolutely NOTHING to do with my Blackberry model, my carrier, or my OS version.
For the past 6 years, I have been providing Email gateway services with spam and malware filtering to several small corporate clients.  At the end of March 2011, one user (also a high-level company admin at one of my client domains) has begun receiving messages from a range of network addresses, as follows:
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]

    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
All those messages have a subject similar to this:
    RIM_bca28a80-e9c0-11d1-87fe-00600811c6a2
The message body begins with "This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server."
The problem is that this person is using an iPhone, not a BB, and he is receiving these messages both on his iPhone and on his Windows desktop (in Office Outlook).
He also tells me he never had a Blackberry, and that he DID NOT ask for these messages to be sent to him.  For sure, he might very well have ACTUALLY done something that caused this, but he cannot recall what it was.  One of his employees lost her Blackberry just before going on maternity leave for a year, starting in March, and he did mention doing something (vaguely remembered) related to that loss (and replacement).
Be that as it may.  The fact is that he does not have a Blackberry, but an iPhone (and apparently NEVER had a Blackberry).  Under those circumstances, is there some way to register a request that these messages no longer be sent, by either Emailing or phoning someone at RIM (or any other way)?  So far, I am sending hundreds of these messages per week to the spam quarantine, from which they have to be purged periodically.
By the way, I just signed up to Twitter earlier today (something which I was in no hurry to do), just so I could attempt to obtain help from the  "BlackBerryHelp" Twitter channel.  Well, I posted the following tweet 2 hours ago, and so far I have received no response:
"@BlackBerryHelp iPhone user getting msgs from "[email protected]", wants them filtered. How do we stop them at source?"
So much for "Official Twitter support account of Research In Motion. We’re staffed from 9-8 EST Monday -Friday and 9-6 Saturday. ".  What kind of response time should I be expecting?  Am I too impatient?
Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to shed some light on this problem and its solution...

Normally that message comes about from having installed the Blackberry Desktop Software on the PC in an incorrect manner, which the link below will show how to correct it. I am guessing someone (might not have been this user, could have been his secretary or another employee who does have a BlackBerry) installed the BlackBerry Desktop Software on his PC with the "redirector" option checked, which is most normally the origin. See below.
Article ID: KB04254 Network@etp email messages are received on the BlackBerry smartphone and email application
Article ID: KB21849 Network@etp messages are received in the email application and on the BlackBerry smartphone
As far as the twitter help accout, yea, I'm thinking two hours response time might be a bit high in expectations. But doesn't matter, the above links should solve the issue.
And, aside from collecting the messages in a spam folder, you could just blacklist them on the users' email server, and they won't even reach the server.

  • Database Studio 7.9.08.09 -  Could not access to user management; Deleting old settings and reinstallation did not bring a change -- database studio deinstallation cannot be performed anymore

    Hi Community,
for a few months I have been struggling with a  SAP Max DB database Studio issue and finally, I had to give up the idea of being able to fix this on my own. I am desperately seeking for help and I hope that you may be able to give me a hint, advice or even a solution.
    This is what happened:
I used to run Windows 7 on 32bit. I also had Database Studio installed - which was running fine then.
After a harware upgrade, I am running now Windows 7 on a 64 bit System. All my files from my local disk (C:\) have been restored and copied onto my new system.
I reinstalled Database Studio Version 7.9.08.09 onto my new System.  But on the first try to start the program I received the error that said "Could not Access to user Management.See Window -> Show View-> Event Log Viewer for more Details."
However the Event Log Viewer was empty.
After searching the web for a solution, I followed the advice given in this community and deinstalled Database Studio and deleted the C.\Users\MyAccount\sdb folder manually.
I reinstalled Database Studio and started it as Administrator.
However, the error is still appearing.
And, what makes it even worse is : now I am not able to uninstall Database Studio anymore.
When I run SAP MaxDB Installation Manager and select the instance of database Studio to be uninstallled I am receiving the error:
"ERR: Unhandled Exception: Can't call method: "GenPackageList" on an undefined value at SDB/Install/Gui/Dialogs/SelectInstance.pm line 328"
    Any advice is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Agnieszka

    Hello Yashwanth,
thank you for your quick Response.
Yes, I downloaded and installed the 64 bit Version of dbstudio.
I downloaded and ran the following .exe file: maxdb-studio-win-64bit-x86_64-7_9_08_09.exe
I am running the following Java-Version:
    Java Plug-in 1.6.0_45
Using JRE version 1.6.0_45-b06 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
I myself am not a SAP customer. However, the Company I am working for is a SAP customer.
Can you explain in Detail, how to create a ticket with SAP?
    Thanks,
    Agnieszka

  • Allow a user access to start and stop a particular service in Solaris 11 using RBAC controls

So, using svcbundle I created a service called "oracle" that starts and shutdown a db. I'm aware of how to grant RBAC access to be a "service operator" to be able to control start/stop ALL services. But I'd like to grant a user access to start and stop JUST this service.
in this document on page 15, it states that it's possible to do this kind of granularity but doesn't explain how to do it step by step.
    how does one achieve this?
    thanks.

You need to add a property group such as
    <property_group name='general' type='framework'>
<!-- to start stop oracle -->
      <propval name='action_authorization' type='astring'
      value='solaris.smf.manage.oracle' />
    </property_group>
Then add the solaris.smf.manage.oracle authorization to the user profile.
As an example, see Less known Solaris features: RBAC and Privileges - Part 2: Role based access control - c0t0d0s0.org

  • Database Access to Web Analysis Users

    Hi,
I am working on a planning application on EPM 11.1.1.3. I have assigned access to users to the Web forms, business rules, dimension members etc. The access is properly applied to all users when they login to the planning application.
However, none of the security filters are applicable to the Web Analysis reports when the same users login with their ID's in Web Analysis.
    1. For example, the user can see all members in the 'Entity' dimension drop-down box in the report. What can I do to apply dimension member access to the reports also?
    2. Secondly, when a non-admin user opens a web analysis report, it prompts for a username and password to connect to the database. Only when I specify the admin username and password, the user can view the data. If I enter the user's own username and password, no data is displayed on the report. Can anybody guide me as to how I should allow database access to non-admin users.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Sahil

    1. While users see all dimension members under Entity, do they see the data for them?
    - one way to reduce the amount of members users see is to use Meta-read filters - although meta-read filters cannot be used with write filters.
    2. Normally when users open up a WA report, the report defaults to the highest level - so total entity.
    - one way to have users see their data is to use User POV - although this requires users to set up their POV per data source under preferences (but only once).
    Hope this helps, cheers, Iain

  • Cannot grant access a user to a database

    Hello...
I am using SQL Server 2012 Express Management Studio. I have a database with a user which is db_owner of a database.
I have created another database and I need that user to have full access to it. I have created the user and assigned to the database as a db_owner, but when I connect using that user, I can expand database node, however, I did not see any table.
As "sa" user, I edit user properties however I cannot add explicit persmissions to the database tables because in protectable elements in user properties does not show any tables.
    Any help will be appreciated,
    thanks
    Jaime

    Hi Jaime,
According to your description, you are unable to see any tables using the login account which has db_owner database role in the database. I agree with Ashwin that your table is created in other database if you indeed create the table. You could verify this
using the code below to find the database in which your table resides by replacing 'your_table_name' with the table name.
    sp_MSforeachdb 'SELECT "?" AS DB, * FROM [?].sys.tables WHERE name like ''%your_table_name%'''
In addition, if you create tables using Transact-SQL, please make sure to use the statement “USE { database }“ to change the database context to the specified database.

  • How to show a database to a user for which only he has the read access?

    Hi All,
We have a SQL Server and it has say 10 datatabases, we have created a login and also a user which has read access to just one of the 10 databases.
    I used
    use [master]
DENY VIEW ANY  DATABASE to msam_test
To hide all the databases from explorer for that user if he logsin with msam_test.Now, i want this user to see a database named suresh3_test for which he has a read access.
Can someone please help me if this is achievable?
    Thanks

    hi,
It is not possible to look at one database if the user only have read access in your scenario.
either you revoke the DENY VIEW ANY  DATABASE permission, which will list all the databases  for the user
or  You need to make the user database owner by doing so:
First delete the user from the database
Right click on the database and select properties and change the owner to msam_test as shown in the pic below
But the user will have owner rights on the database.
Hope this clarifies your doubt. The same was explained in your earlier post as well
    Thanks

  • Regarding Provisioning a user to Database Access Tables

    Hi,
I've just completed with the installation of OIM 9101 and upgradation of 9101 to 9102. I'm facing a bit wierd. When I try to create a GTC for the Database Access Tables, I'm not able to see Database Access Tables option, in the drop down list for the Transport Provider.
I'm a bit confused if I've wrongly upgraded the system or if at all i've missed out some step. Though OIM seems to be ok and working fine.
Any suggestions as to how to solve this ?
    Regards
    Nikhil

    Thanks Prakash,

This Error seems to occur because I was trying to attach certain pre-prop adapters within the default process form that is created while installing the connector. Roaming around the threads here, I came to know that this might be the problem as pre-props don't work fine when applied to the GTC's default form.
To overcome this problem, I've thought of a solution wherein I should create a new Custom Process Form and then apply my pre-props. But for this approach, I'm stuck into the middle. How can I apply a new Custom Form to an existing Provisioning Process ? Is this fesiable ? If yes, where should the changes be made ?
I tried changing the Table Name inside the GTC's provisioning process so that GTC can pick up the my new process form instead of its default process form, but that again gives an error saying :
    com.thortech.xl.orb.dataaccess.tcDataAccessException: DB_READ_FAILEDDetail: SQL: select err_key, err_code, err_desc, err_rowver, err_remedy, err_count, err_last_occurance, err_action, err_help_url, err_severity from err where err_code='DOBJ.UPDATE_FAILED'Description: Got a null connectionSQL State: Vendor Code: 0Additional Debug Info:com.thortech.xl.orb.dataaccess.tcDataAccessException
I hope the scenario is clear to you and i'm able to explain upto the mark .. :(
    Kindly help me out..

I suddenly cannot access my AOL E mail account via my iPhone. Has worked for ages. Now says username or passowrd is incorrect which it is not! Have reset the phone but still no joy. Any ideas........please! Martyn

Is there any chance your AOL account has been hacked?  Check it to make sure your password is still what you think it is.
Also make sure caps lock isn't on when typing your password.

  • User session stops completely and restarts (GNOME 3.10)

Since last week I have experienced suddenly closing all applications closing and sending me to the log-in screen.
Using journalctl I can see that all applications exited with a "Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0". It all ends with the user session stopping and then being started again.
Here is a journald log from yesterday at 13:10.

From what I remember I have also had this issue when Skype wasn't open.
Yesterday my computer started up beeping - I took the harddisk out and it started normally (initramfs tho). Then I put it back in and the laptop have been running fine so far. I suspect it might just have been a bad connection, but I am giving it time..
    EDIT: Still experiencing the issue..

  • Dispatcher gets stopped

    Dear All,
I am facing a problem with IDES system. When I start the SAP from MMC console in windows 2003 with oracle database (ECC 5.0) the dispatcher gets stopped immediately after it tries to start the work process. All the work process ends up and dispatcher stops. But the message server and gateway service are still running.

  • Dispacther gets stopped

    Dear All,
I am facing a problem with IDES system. When I start the SAP from MMC console in windows 2003 with oracle database (ECC 5.0) the dispatcher gets stopped immediately after it tries to start the work process. All the work process ends up and dispatcher stops. But the message server and gateway service are still running.

  • I desperately need to access my User Library folder in Time Machine (Lion so = not visible).

Hi. I installed Lion a few months ago and got a new external drive to back up Time Machine.
Nobody told me the User Library would be made hidden in the new OS. I have been backing up regularly in the belief that all my work, settings and so on was safe.
Yesterday my iMac (27" 2.8 Ghz Core it with 4 gib memory) suddenly went mad. Message saying finder had quit whilst trying to restore windows. Desktop was flashing, no icons clickable, no external disks readable. Could access some progs and terminal, but nothing else. Could not get into the history folder to trash various plists and so on as the folder is hidden and the alt Go wouldn't work. The Finder just wouldn't do anything.
I have sorted it out BUT I have lost my address book entries, my browser booksmarks, my desktop shortcuts and my iCal entries. I need to access my User Library on my Time Machine. Is there a way?
I cannot believe I have been religiously backing up my stuff but Apple has made it so I can't access my backup of one of the most important folders on my Time Machine???
Is there anyway of getting into this from Terminal or something? I will never be able to get back all the bookmarks and stuff I've been researching for years. I have it backed up on two different hard drives, both of which have 'invisible' library folders. I have make the folder visible now, for future backups, but it's after the horse has bolted. I am furious, and just feel like bursting into tears because of all the time it's going to take me to get all my work back. I can't tell you how stupid this was, Apple.
If someone could help I'd be really grateful. I've got older backups but they are so old they won't get back my recent stuff.
    Thanks.

    select Finder
hole option key and select Go in the menu
    Select Library
    Enter Time Machine
You should be seeing all the versions of you Library folder.
