when opening firefox, the connection goes to www.aol.com, and the eror states it cannot establish the connection. I am not comfortable with on-line banking to leave the firewall off, and this was never a problem until last night.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

This morning, Firefox crashed. After this, when I click the Firefox icon, the hourglass appears and then nothing happens. Firefox does briefly appear in the task manager when I do this.

You are getting this message because you are attempting to create an iCloud account on a PC. You can only create iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.2) or higher. Firefox will not open unless i reboot and the "send Link" option no longer works

after firefox is opened it works fine for awhile and then when i close the browser the desktop icon is unresponsive to o pen again unless i reboot. also, the "send Link" option, that always worked before, now does not.

I had tried this before, but went ahead and tried this again.
I clicked on "reset Firefox". Firefox closed, but did not come back up. When I tried to open it again, I did receive a message that said Firefox is running but is not responding, that I couldn't open another window without stopping the processes on the other page.
I never got a window that showed me the information that was imported, or a place to click finish.
Since I don't believe this completed, I don't believe my problem will be solved.

Firefox is set as my default browser. Something has happened recently that caused this. I have both I.E. and Torch which both open fine. When I try to open Firefox, nothing happens. Pressing Ctrl,Alt,Del shows nothing in the "task" box. When I click "New Task" and enter Firefox, nothing happens. The only way it will open is for me to delete the program, restart and download it new. It will open after the download, but if I close it, it will not reopen.

Firefox crashes, have uploaded new version (8) and will not work unless I turn off my firewall, when I turn it back on again it crashes?

Everything was ok until early last week when Firefox kept on and on crashing. I downloaded the new version on Saturday and all was fine until I switched on on Sunday and nothing, zilch. Opened in internet explorer and all was OK so knew it had to be Firefox. I disabled my Firewall and all came on perfectly, as soon as firewall goes on again Firefox goes off. I have now done a system restore back thingy (I'm sure you know what I mean!!) to before the download and am now having to put up with it crashing when it feels like it. Also very slow and sticky. I am working on Windows 7 if this helps.
If this cannot be resolved satisfactorily I will change to Safari or Internet Explorer as this is not the first problems I have had with Firefox.

It is just as I have said. New Tabs for Firefox will not open unless clicking on a link while browsing.

To expand on what the question is, Every time I try to open a new tab, it just doesn't work. New tabs only open when I click a link that also opens the page in that link in a new tab. Even when I try to do the same thing through the file menu and Ctrl+T. Otherwise, Firefox is running normally. Yesterday, I downloaded a program called "FLV player" that I knew came with an ask.com toolbar but for some reason, switched ask.com to the homepage for Firefox. After that, I switched the homepage for Firefox back to its default page.

Everyday its the same thing. By midafternoon, Firefox will not open unless I reboot. I am at work, and have too many things open all day to stop and reboot for a browser, when I also have IE. I prefer Firefox, it is set as my default, and have many passwords saved there that are not saved in IE. Surely there is a fix for this? I have removed it, downloaded it again, followed other suggestions from your site, but still have the same problem. If I leave a window open all day long, it will still work for me, and thats what I try to do. However, invariably, there will come that accidental second that I hit the red X at the top and totally regret it! Please help!

I restored my computer to earlier time and I did an other restore but to latest time and since then every time I click on Firefox short cut this window comes up with the same cod and I can not turn it off unless turn off or restart my laptop, I did delete the Firefox few times and reinstalled it but did not change anything, still I get the same cod,

Some how I solved my problem by opening a user account and downloading Firefox 4.0 beta and installing it, I did try it, worked fine, so I did close the user account and did go back to my own account(switched user), the main page that I had problem with Firefox which would not open, I dabble click on Firefox it start working again!! I can press ctrl for a new tab but otherwise a new tab does not open. I actually need help regarding this new Synch which apparently will be in Firefox automatically in an upcoming version so I am asking how that will synch with people who use LastPass-of course because I use this very successfully and really am not eager to change the set up that I have in place at this time.
