Suddenly getting "Firefox wants to redirect a page" ?

Since Jan 1, when I go to certain sites (local news, for instance) I get a dropdown bar saying "Firefox wants to redirect this page" with an 'allow " button. And I click the allow or the X to stop it and guess what? It does it again. What's going on?

    Every time Firefox opened

    Firefox can have multiple home pages if you wish. Each home page that will open when starting Firefox is separated by the "|" character.

  • After removing force https can I get Firefox to quit redirecting me from google classic to google SSL?

    I was using Force https, and have since removed it. I am being redirected, however, to google SSL and cannot load the google classic page. I do not want to use SSL (https://encrypted.google.com). How do I get Firefox to direct me to the correct website as I enter it (www.google.com)? I have tried clearing my cache and cookies, as well as reading suggestions on google's forums. Help please? Thanks!

    Sounds like you picked up some re-direct Malware.

  • How do I get Firefox to open my home page whenever I open a new tab?

    I have Google as my home page. Rather than opening a new tab and getting a blank page, I'd like to open a new tab and get Google coming up. I'm fairly certain that this was possible in old Firefox, and would like to know if it is still possible and if so how!?! Thanks!

  • How do I get Firefox to support 32 bit page?

    I upgraded to Mountain Lion and now have trouble with Firefox, saying I need to open in 32 bit page. Don't know how to do that. Also won't open PDF files. May change to different browser.

    Firefox for Mac is now 64 bit. What do you mean, a 32 bit page? The code on web pages has nothing to do with what CPU you have.
    If you cannot get Firefox to handle PDF files on its own, you can have it use a helper application instead. Preview can open PDF files.

  • How can I get Firefox to except the home page that I want to use

    I have clicked and dragged the icon a hundred times, and still when I click on Firefox a previously set up home page appears.
    This is very annoying because I can get to my homepage; but I have to sign on to yahoo e-mail every time; then go to my homepage and my bookmarks. I can't seem to get it to except the homepage I want to use..

    If you want a customize Yahoo! page then make sure that you keep the Yahoo! cookies.
    Such details are stored in a cookie.
    * Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
    * In [[Private Browsing]] mode all cookies are session cookies that expire if that session is ended, so websites won't remember you.
    * In [[Private Browsing]] mode Firefox won't fill names and passwords automatically.
    * You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
    * To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting <b>Firefox will: Use custom settings for history</b>
    * Uncheck: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
    * Do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
    Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

  • How do I get Firefox to automatically size web pages?

    Seems to me one of the features of html is that it's the browser's job to resize the page to the current window, if possible. New Win8.1 machine, newly installed Firefox, doesn't seem to do that (consistently, if at all.) Any option to do this?

    O.P.: I should point out there's a BIG difference between "zooming" to fit, and "sizing" to fit. A browser can and should adjust spacing between elements, and even re-arrange elements, to get the page to fit, if possible. Sometimes it's not possible, because the page has specified the formatting. In my case, it seems like FF '''never''' gets it right. Even this very page has the scroll bar at the bottom, which should be completely unnecessary.

  • I cannot get firefox to access any web pages, main menu appears frozen

    I have downloaded the most up to date firefox but cannot get the Start page to search for anything

    A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.
    See:
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Server+not+found
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firewalls
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

    Drag and drop my Comcast home page icon to the "home" at the other end of the toolbar does not take. I did the same with my laptop with complete success.

    You do not check if the modelType is null and
              if(modeltype.equals("Direct")) {
              out.println("in if");
              will result in a NullPointerException when it is null.

  • Suddenly my Firefox app changed. When I am on Facebook it CONSTANTLY asks if I want to change pages, even if I am just browsing a picture album. And I have trouble comments or moving among pages. The Link buttons appear to be inactive.

    I get a grey box every time I click on anything in games or picture albums, or moving among applications, asking me if I want to change pages. I went to Tools/Options/and made sure I had the "warn me when sites want to redirect me" turned off, and "load pages automatically" checked. Also, the links for comment seem to be inactive. I click on links and nothing happens. It works fine on Explorer so I am thinking something about Firefox is wrong.
