Suddenly I'm not authorized for purchased content & apps

Hi,
Please forgive me if this issue has been raised over and over again or if I come across bone-headed in general.
I recently migrated from my old Ti-Book to a new 15" Macbook Pro with Retina Display.  I've had various little glitches with the new unit that I'm slowly working out.  The most annoying issue is that iTunes has started telling me that several purcahses (including music and one app, Things) are no longer authorized on my computer.
I've de-authorized and reauthorized my computer a few times, repaired permissions, etc. to no avail.  I should mention that my iTunes library is kept on a local server made by Synology.
Like many folks, I share my iTunes library and accounts with my family.  What have I done wrong here?'
Thanks for any help you can offer.
Doug

  • You are not authorized to purchase from app store

I downloaded Virtual City Playground from Mac app store. During playing this game, I want to buy Invest Points, but there always appears  "you are not authorized to purchase from app store"
    Does someone can help me?

    Hi..
According to the support page for that app...
I am playing Virtual City Playground on my Mac and I want to buy invest points. When I try to make an in-app purchase, I get a message saying “You are not authorized to purchase from the App Store”. I have checked my App Store account and it works properly. My internet connection is stable. Why I can’t make this purchase?
Please be informed that in-app purchases for Mac are available only starting from 10.7.0 (OS X Lion).
According to your profile, you are running v10.6.8 Snow Leopard.

Always a good idea to check out all the support information on the app developer's website before downloading.

  • ITunes not authorizing my purchased content on my ATV2

I cannot get purchased content from iTunes to play on my ATV2 - Is there a specific way to authorize your ATV2?  I've signed in to my iTunes store account and iCloud account on ATV2, but they still won't authorize.  When I press play it starts "loading" but then it doesn't do the "Authorizing" - help!!!!

Nevermind, sharing my music on a home network or something like that fixed it on preferences
its just weird that it was fine before and all of a sudden not

  • I down loaded two movies to watch on a flight, when I tried two watch either one of them, it said" not authorized for this content"   Not sure what this means. I don't think I have child control on.

I Down loaded two movies to watch on a flight. When I tried to watch either one of them it said " not authorized to watch this content" and it would load to watch. I donot believe I have child controls on.

I have read about some cases where movies rented or purchased on one device will not play on another device. Seems to happen mostly with Apple TV and iPads. One way some have worked around it is to cable from the downloaded device to a TV or Apple TV.
Were these movies purchased or rented from iTunes? Not sure, but that almost sounds like a iTunes Password problem. Maybe try checking that you're signed in as the same account that purchased the movies.

  • Not authorized for purchased songs

I had to reinstall my computer. I had already bought some songs in the iTunes store. As I now have reinstalled my computer and therefore reinstalled iTunes 7.x.x again, iTunes tells me, that my already purchased songs can't be reloaded as I'm not authorized. When I access the iTunes store and click on my purchase history it shows me exactly all the songs I bought already.¨
How do I get these songs bnack into my library? I have them already stored in a folder but whenever I try to load these files back to the library the error occurs telling me, that I'm not allowed to hace these purchased songs on my iPod.
    Would appreciate any support!

Did you attempt to re-authorize? Any time you do something like an OS re-install, iTunes views this as a "new" computer & requires the system to be re-authorized. The down side to this is, if you didn't deauthorize as suggested before any majore repairs, including OS re-install, you will be using a 2nd authorization on the same computer.

  • I'm getting a message that says "content not authorized for viewing" Any ideas?

I have not used my AppleTV1 for quite a while and have since upgraded from a MacBook (black) to a MacBook Pro (Snow Leopard). I tried to hook up to the AppleTV1 (wired connection) and see if I could get it working. All seemed to go well but I can't seem to download my Library to the Apple TV. When I tried to view a movie or TV show from my library on the MacBook Pro, I get a message that the "content is not authorized for viewing" What does this mean and can I fix it??
    Thanks

I did a full factory reset on the Apple TV and then set evrything up again. Synced all my stuff from the computer, which seemed to download ok, but still get the "Your Apple TV is not authorized to play this content" message. It's very frustrating. All the content was purchased from the iTumes Canada store, I'm in Canada but can't watch it on the TV. I tried changing to the US store but same message. I think I'll just give up. This is the first time I have ever had a problem with an Apple product and I have never used anyrhing else but Apple. Thanks for your help anyway it's much appreciated.

  • The iPod could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPod.

    Full message that pops up
"The iPod could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPod.
To authorize this computer for items purchased from iTunes Store, choose Store > Authorize This Computer."
I am unable to sync my music, applications, movies, etc. to my iPod touch. The only way I am able to bypass the message that pops out when I try to sync (the one in the title) is by clicking "Apply" instead of "Sync". To do this, I make changes to Apps, Music, or Movies (...) and the buttons "Revert" and "Apply" will replace the button "Sync".
My problem is most likely not due to using many accounts because I only have one and it is the only one that I use. I do not share accounts with my family members. Still, I have tried everything here, nothing has worked for me. Since I don't often listen to Podcasts, I have deleted them from my iPod. I have no idea why I am unable to sync and no one seems to have the same problem as me.
Thank you for your help in advance.

  • IPad could not be Synced because it is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on iPad

I recently purchased an IPAD AIR and synced ir with my comuter. 14 days later I try and SYNC it and I get a message " The IPAD could not be synced because this computer is no longe authorized for purchased items that are on this IPAD. The apple id's are the same and only 2 devices authorized. Meessage states to go to STORE and Authorize Computer. When I do I get a Message it is already authorized

The problem appeared to be a Pending Request on the IPAD for the new ICLOUD option to share Keychain. I cleared that up and it appears that fixed the issue. Thanks for your help

  • Every movie purchase through iTunes fails to transfer to my iPhone or iPad and the message I get is this: some of the items in the itunes library, including were not copied to the ipad because you are not authorized for them on this computer... help?

For a couple months now, every movie purchase through iTunes fails to transfer to my iPhone or iPad giving me the error: "some of the items in the iTunes library, including were not copied to the iPad because you are not authorized for them on this computer". I have read many forums about deleting, reinstalling, de-authorizing and authorizing my iMac through the iTunes store. Many suggestions don't work except to rename the movie to *.MP4 in Finder under the iTunes movie directory. I imagine this is a setting or a bug somewhere... any suggestions on how to bypass having to rename the files in Finder? My research into Google suggests this problem dates back to 2007 or so but it is now more prevalent than ever.
    Thanks.
