Suddenly, my iPad can't find my printer

My iPad 2 is suddenly unable to find my HP Envy, which it has used since I got it.
I have had to reboot, so to speak, due to a screen/wi-fi issue. So I may need to
Reintroduce them, but how. iPad found said printer all on it's own before. HELP!

As the HP Envy is AirPrint-comptible, the same applies as in other cases: in several cases, you need to wait for 10-15 minutes for the printer to be shown in the printer list.
Also, make sure you're on the same Wi-Fi as the printer, and not on, say, 3G.

  • Should I  be able to use a Lexmark Pro 205 wireless printer from my iPad 1?  My iPad can't find the printer.  Iveinstalled the Lexprint app on iPad and downloaded the Lexmark Listener on desktop computer. Still can't print from iPad.

Should I be able to use a Lexmark Pro 205 wireless 3 in 1 printer with iPad 1?  I have installed the LexPrint app on iPad, downloaded the Lexmark Listener on desktop computer but still can't print from iPad. My iPad cannot find the printer.  But I can print from desktop without USB cable. I upgraded the system on my iPad sometime ago.  Suggestions??

Here is the list of AirPrint printers, and you particular printer is not on it.  So that means you will need to use the Lexmark app, and print through your computer.
There is a Lexmark guy that hangs around these forums who may chime in with a response as well.

  • HT4356 Can't find air printer: Help?

IPad can't find air printer. Both are connected.

Without any details all we can do is guess and offer general suggestions. Have you worked through all the troubleshooting steps in the support article from which you came? Confirmed that your printer supports AirPrint? Checked with the printer manufacturer to see if there is any firmware update available/necessary?
    Regards.

  • IPad 3 can't find my printer

iPad 3 can't find my printer.  My Mac prints wirelessly to it with no problem?

Does your printer support Airprint. See here for Airprint capable printers: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356

  • My I pad can't find my printer but my macBook pro can. How can I print from my Ipad?

How do I print from my ipad? it says it can't find my printer but my macbook can.

Is your printer AirPrint compatible? My MacBook can see my printer but my iPad doesn't because my wireless printer is not AirPrint Compatible.
Here are all of the AirPrint printers.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
If your printer is not on that list, you need a third party app in order to print - Print and Share, Print Central, you can use Printopia for the Mac. Search for other apps that will let you print using your current printer.

  • I have a brother MFC-J835DW printer and my ipad can not find it to print?  They are both connected to the same wirelss network via a Linksys router.  Any ideas?

I have a Brother MFC-J835DW wireless printer (which is on the list of supported printers for Airprint), and have both the IPad 2 and the printer connected to the same wireless network.  When I try to select the printer to print fromt he iPad, it cannot find the printer.  Any ideas?

The first thing to do is to make sure that your printer has the latest firmware. You can download the firmware updater from Brother:

  • Ipad2 printer is wifi but iPad can't find it. Any suggestions please.

I have bought a wifi printer, connected it to sky router but  iPad can't find it. Any suggestions please.

Left to its own devices, the iPad won't find any printers at all except for, I gather, AirPrint ones. All the rest have to be handled in various different ways through various different apps and techniques.
Suggest you provide a bit more information about what you're actually trying to connect and perhaps someone can provide some more specific info for you.

  • My iPad can't find my specific Wifi network

    Hello,
About two days ago while on my iPad, my wifi connection suddenly dropped from my network. I didn't think much of it because my room is far from my router, so I went downstairs and tried to connect. However, my iPad couldn't find my wifi network. It showed all the other networks around my house that it normally does, but not mine, I thought my router may have possibly shut off, but my iPhone, computers, and Xbox all connected fine. I tried restarting the iPad, resetting network settings, turning airplane mode on and off, restarting the iPad while airplane mode was on... nothing. I restarted my router several times, nothing.
I'm not sure what the issue is, as again it is specifically my wifi network that the iPad can't find, even though there's 5 iPhones, one mac, one laptop, 2 Xbox's, and 2 other iPads that can all connect to my wifi without a hitch. Is this some sort of known issue with the iPad? It's an iPad 2, by the way. Or do I have to take it in to a store?
    Thanks.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at
    http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • Tried to print from ipad4 with wifi printer. Saying can't find air printer. Printer on and it has printed previously.

Tried to print from my ipad 4 but saying can't find air printer. It has printed before.

    Sharonanthony-
First, try double-clicking your Home button.  A row of recent Apps will line up along the bottom of the screen.  Scroll across and look for the Print Center icon.  If it is there, you should be able to delete any print job that might be hanging it up.
If you can access the internet, then you should have a good connection to a printer that is using the same WiFi.  If you do not have your normal connection to the internet, then I suggest you unplug your WiFi router for a few seconds.  Then reset the iPad's network at Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings.  You will need to reconnect the iPad to WiFi.

  • Airprint ipad3 can't find hp7510 printer - help

My ipad can't find my HP7510 printer, which is airprint compatable.  I can print from my PC and I can print from eprint on my ipad.  Why can't my ipad find my hp7510 via airprint?  Can anyone help as I have been working on this all day and pulling my hair out!

Your HP Photosmart 7510 ought to work with AirPrint, so the only uncertainty is your router. It must support Bonjour for AirPrint to work. All Apple AirPort base stations do (obviously) but most others should as long as they are fairly new. They may require a firmware update for AirPrint to function though.
I am not familiar with yours and its website yields almost no information about AirPrint compatibility.
There is firmware available for it, but I have no idea how it is uploaded to the router. See this:
    http://www.zyxel.com/support/download_library/product/nbg_419n_7.shtml
ZyXEL also has a user support forum here: http://forum.zyxel.com
Perhaps you could find someone more knowledgeable about it on that site.

  • I just bought an hp6500a printer and my ipad2 won't print. It says it can't find a printer. Does anyone know how to get it to print?

I need help to print. I just bought an hp6500a printer and my iPad 2 says it can't find a printer. My iMac pro is printing to it wirelessly.  Help!

Just up late weighing in on this question.
I have a HP6500a.  I called for help in setting up the "Air Print" facility from HP itself.  1 800 474 6836  They were great.  Its complex but they have a special "Air Print" division.  Ask the representative who comes on to be transferred there right away.  (Unfortunately I have three conflicting computers on the same Air Print system, so I've been there a few times until everything got sorted out).  I thought HP told me to install an HP Air print App on my home screen but right now I can't find it .  Guess I got too many Apps!  (Oh right there is a search function, but I just tried HP or Air Print and came up empty!).
Good Luck...sorry I don't remember the exact details of setting my unit up, but it does depend upon what ISP you have.
