Suddenly no audio with mpg files via QT 7.4.5 & no audio with wmv files

Out of the blue, audio playback does not work with any mpg file saved to my hard drive using Quicktime. So, I downloaded the most recent update (7.4.5) and the same thing, no audio. It occurred at the same time when wmv files stopped producing audio on my wmv player. Not sure where the problem exists. I get audio if I open the same mpg using my VLC player...just not QT.
Thanks!!!

  • PI needs to obtain a zip file via FTP using the File adapter

I have a scenario where PI needs to obtain a zip file via FTP using the File adapter, this zip file contains a number of txt files that I need to process, and the content of one of them send it to an ECC, now I'm using the PayloadZipBean Module in the Sender FIle Adapter, and I have two things if I use the Message Protocol as File, I get a Payload for each txt file in the zip file, but this payload has no structure, and if I use the File Content Conversion I get an XML strcuture with only one field and a strange string in it, and somewhere in this string the names of the files I assume all the content of the zip file, can anyone help on how could I achieve what I need that is to pull the zip file via SAP PI, then unzip it, and with the content of one of the txt files send it to an ECC via ABAP Proxy, thanks in advance for your answers.

    Hello Raul,
you can do it in futher way ...
pickup zip file and simply extract and dump it in another temp folder (can use scripts on OS level).
@ then Use another sender communication channel to pickup all these text file .
for further clarification you can use these links also. -

My problem is that I can receive files via bluetooth, but I can't send files via it. Actually I can see the "receiving file" message on mobile, but as I wanna accept that file, I see a "receiving file" error. I tried this with several other phones, but I still have the same problem. I see this message when I run bluedevil-sendfile from terminal:

  • Working with .wmv files in GoLive 6.0...HELP

I have spent hours searching for what would seem to be an easy answer and have given up. I am a intermediate level user of GoLive 6.0 trying to insert a .wmv file for my website. Can someone please provide step by step instructions on how do this? Help....thank you!

Saving a WMV as MOV in QuicktimePro is simply putting a MOV wrapper on the WMV so FCP will better handle it. It's a Save As not an export so there's no additional compression.
Ultimately you will have to render though, most likely because it's not one of the video formats natively handled by FCP (DV, DVCPro50, etc). It's not just the physical settings, the "video" codec itself must be supported. BTW if you were to edit in HDV you'd have to render too for output (to create new GOP structure in that case though).
    Hi Craig,
Thanks for the advice, a few things though....
"Flip4Mac Player Pro allows you to edit WMV in FCP."
The problem is that I need to render when I import
WMV files into FCP, even though I have matched all of
the parameters in the sequence settings (ie. pixel
aspect ratio, frame rate, frame size, etc.)
I don't know for sure, but my understanding is I have
to render because there is no WM9 option under the
"compressor" parameter in the Sequence Settings.
Because of this it is impossible to import WMV files
without rendering even with FLip4Mac, because I have
it installed and can still export as a WMV file.
Have you discovered a way to import WMV files into
FCP without needing rendering? This is critical for
me because the environment I'm in doesn't allow for
long render times, as it will slow down the workflow
    of the whole newsroom.
"I can also open WMV in QuicktimePro (with Flip4Mac)
and save the file as MOV. I find it works smoother
    that way."
But doesn't it degrade the quality when you convert
to .MOV? And for me, going from WMV to MOV back to
WMV will result in degradations at each step won't
    it?

  • Working with WMV files in FCP 5 Timeline

I know Flip4Mac Studio Edition allows for importing and exporting into and out of FCP 5 in WMV format. What I'm not sure of, is can you do intensive editing on the WMV files in FCP 5 without any glitches. Will FCP run smoothly?
I am asking because I work at online company that will be receiving wmv files on its servers. This is a high volume workflow with an intense turnover rate. We are receiving hour long clips and re-editing them down to 2 minutes. There is no time to go through lengthy WMV to MOV conversions. We need to receive, edit, and output all in WMV.
Can FLip4Mac with FCP 5 edit an intense environment like this? Where everything is done in WMV? Or Is Flip4Mac primarily for converting WMV into MOV so that editing in FCP is done with MOV files, and then at the end exporting as WMV again.
Is FLip4Mac the only solution. Are there others? After recommending and praising Macs, I may be on thin ice if FLip4Mac isn't a sufficient workaround!!
    Thanks Curtis

  • Downloading Flip4mac and Mac OS X Update to read .wmv files

    G'day,
I'm completely new to macs-just got a macbook pro. I have downloaded flip4mac to view .wmv files. This required an update (due to not being intel processor compliant I think) so I downlaoded Mac OS X Update (Intel). When I download this I get the message "This volume does not meet the requirements for this update"
What should I do to overcome the download problem or is there an easier way to view .wmv files?
    Thanks
Macbook pro   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Flip4Mac doesn't yet work on Intel, it's not an issue with the MacOS X update. If you need to view .wmv files, you can still use Windows Media Player 9
As for the update... Are you really still on OS 10.4.5? If so, which update did you download? To go from 10.4.5 to the current version, 10.4.7, you need to download the Mac OS X Update 10.4.7 Combo Intel. The best (most convenient) way to update Apple software is usually with Software Update in the Apple menu. It will automatically select the proper version to bring you up-to-date on all your Apple software.

  • .wmv files not working

I installed Snoe Leopard last night and the only problem is that I can't open .wmv files unless I am in Quicktime itself. I cant open them in Finder.

I installed the new Beta version of Flip4Mac which is supposed to be compatible with Snow Leopard. It now takes much longer for the .wmv files to be fully processed. Instead of a separate "importing" progress bar, the bar shows up at the bottom of the Quicktime window and moves slowly, as if it were streaming. Also, a circular version of the progress bar shows up in the Preview Window of the Finder. Both are extremely slow compared to the way things worked in Leopard.

  • FLV vs WMV file size

I just encoded a 13 minute video to FLV and to WMV, and at 2
different sizes. Not only was the 240x180 FLV file nearly the same
file size (45MB) as the 320x240 FLV, but the WMV files were about
half that size (appx 27MB). Can someone explain this to me? I
thought FLV was supposed to be about the same file size as WMV.
That is definitely not the case!

    Bruce
Are you in Flash 8? Flash 8 has a much more efficient
    encoding process than
MX 2004 did. Either way you should check out this article.
    I've found it

  • Suddenly can't add .mpg files into PE3

Never been able to capture direct from my Sony DCR-SR210 into PE3, I've been saving to my desktop hard drive and adding the .mpgs from there without any problem, but suddenly I can't do it any more. It shows the "pending media" screen and the indexing bar on the bottom right just keeps filling and emptying over and over again. I've tried putting the files through Windows Moviemaker, but the files go in OK, I can view them, and then WMM crashes when I put the file in the timeline (this has always happened). The files play fine on Power DVD, so I guess they're OK. I'm on Windows XP. Thanks!

I just defragged, there's still a lot of fragmented files on there tho, and I still can't import my latest video files. The problem did indeed start a couple of days ago when I pretty much ran out of space, so bought an external hard drive and shifted a lot of files from my cdrive to there. I've now got 40gb free space on the Cdrive. After the failure of my attempt to import my latest files from my new external drive, I'm not using it at all now to try to add media to my pe3 project, but still no dice! I downloaded file conversion software to see if that would solve the problem, and it does, but only with intolerable loss of quality. Any advice on how to clear up my Cdrive further? thanks for your time guys, x

  • Encore 2.0 doesn't play audio from .mpg file

A long (1,5 hour) file transcoded from APPro 2.0 with media encoder.
Encore 2.0 takes about 20 min to import that file as asset, and then - no audio playing in preview!
I thought it was transcoding, or smth. and waited for an hour - still no audio! Not at the begining, nor at the end...
Media player plays that file OK.
Encoder 1.5 imports and plays that file OK in 30 sec!!!
I wonder what is the problem now ???!!!
I tried to make another (new!) project with ONLY this file on the ONLY "first play" timeline - the same result
In some previous projects .mpg files played OK, what ' th difference?
    any idea?

    PAL or NTSC?

  • Suddenly no sound in .mpg files

Out of the blue, my (otherwise healthy, 2-week old) Mac Pro will no longer play the audio on .mpg files (in Quicktime) and .wmv files (in Windows Media). Some details:
    - All these files played fine yesterday, and nothing has been installed since then.
    - I reinstalled the system software. No good.
    - I reinstalled Quicktime 7.2. No good.
    - The afflicted Quicktime files DO play back in VLC, and on my PowerBook.
Given that the problem extends to Windows Media files, this may not be a Quicktime problem, but rather something deeper in my OS. But does this ring a bell with anyone?
    Thanks!

practically the same thing happened to me and my macbook pro the other day and i have been pulling my hair out ever since. I followed this and when I got to the midi settings there was no place to change the output frequency. Also, I have never gotten an error message upon trying to play any mpg files.
mp4 files, mov files, and other such files (except avi files, because they are ********) play fine.
I suspect that I ran into this problem when I tried to install a divx codec to be able to play .avi files in quicktime. Because mpg files played fine before then, and now they don't. I downloaded perian to try and fix the problem, but it didn't work.
Does anybody know why mpg files have no sound in this situation, or maybe how to remove the divx codec?

  • Brand new final cut pro user having trouble with .mpg files

    Hi everybody,
i am brand new to editing on my iMac and final cut pro, so i will apologize now for any questions that seem really dumb. i am trying to bring in some .mpg files into a project and only the video will come in, no audio...when i play the files in quicktime player by themselves, they play just fine. i tried to export the files to quicktime movie files via the quicktime player (i don't have quicktime pro) and then those files played the video but no audio...not sure what to do..please help.
    thanks,

Try using MPEG Streamclip to convert the videos; more information on this issue is available in this article.

  • Download Helper, even with paid converter upgrade, gives "Invalid Capture File" errors and will not record audio, with "File Creation Error - Unable to rename/copy audio file" Error.

Download Helper Screen Capture worked to capture video if the default "no audio" option is active. But, no audio. The "speakers" or "microphone" audio options are confusing....the audio to be captured is from the video, so what do you choose? With either "speakers" or "microphone" selected, the captured file has poor audio and no video. Re-capture efforts (speakers) get "Invalid capture file error" and "File Creation error- Unable to rename/copy audio file"
The paid upgrade of "Converter" doesn't work.
Instructive documentation - not very good.
Suggestions - Need time delay between initiation of "Record" and starting the video to be recorded.
Could use timer tracking of the record process.
Are there operating system limitations? (Have Windows XP Pro)

That is an issue for the developer of that Download Helper.

  • I got my ipad 2 yesterday.  I am trying to transfer photos as albums to ipad via itunes. I put the photos in a file with sub-files as I was told. The all tranfer but into one album. Is there a way to do what I am trying?

I am trying to tranfer photos from pc to ipad via itunes. I put the photos in a file and sub-files in order to tranfer them as albums: an main album with albums within. All the photos tranfered but into only one album. Is there a way to do this? Is there an app that would help. Also, I tranfered two albums into iphoto. I edited a photo in one album which created a new album of edits. I have removed the photos form the album but I am not able to delete the album themselves. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am having the same problem and it is even bigger.
When opening a 1-page PDF in iBooks and sending it via mail it is sent inline as preview, but the recipient cannot open the file anymore. Also on iPad and iPhone there is no "open in" possible.
Somehow the mail app does destroy the file. What is going wrong?
