SUDDENLY NOTHING IS MOVING, SONGS WON'T DRAG INTO PLAYLISTS

I'M TRYING TO CREATE NEW PLAYLISTS AND SUDDENLY NOTHING IS MOVING. INDIVIDUAL SONGS DON'T MOVE, PLAYLISTS IN THEIR ENTIRETY DON'T MOVE. TRIED CREATING A NEW PLAYLIST FOLDER AND MOVING PLAYLISTS INTO THAT BUT NOTHING GOES. HAVE CHECK SOME SETTINGS BUT I'M AT A LOSE AS TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. HAVE THE LATEST VERSION OF ITUNES INSTALLED. ANY SUGGESTIONS???

I see that you're having a similar issue to me - I download songs through a wi-fi network (wirless internet), and try to sync them to playlists.
Now that I see you have a similar issue, the answer may be a setting in iTunes,or maybe re-downloading these through your PC to see if you can then transfer these purchases to your playlists. I'm currently not at my home PC, but if you could experiment with that, it may help.
All downloads under your iTunes account should be able to be re-donloaded for free through your home PC so give it a shot, download the songs again and try and transfer them. Let me know how you get on.

HELP-Songs can no longer be dragged into playlists on my Itunes

I have noticed recently that I can no longer click and 'drag' my songs from my library play list, to other playlists on itunes. Is there another way I can transfer specific songs from the library to my playlists? Or is there a way I can fix it so I can continue to drag my songs from the library to other playlists?

Are you trying to drag songs to a regular or a smart playlist? You cannot drag songs to a smart playlist, instead you have to make the tags match the smart playlists conditions (or make the conditions match the tags). If you are having problems dragging to a regular playlist, try opening that playlist in a second window by double clicking on it, move it aside so you can see both iTunes windows, and try dragging the song from the Library into the playlist's window.

Playlist folders can contain more playlist folders and playlists. You can't drag tracks to playlist folders, only to non-smart playlists.

itunes still sells the track as a song, so obviously you can.

I currently have a 80 gb video Ipod and just recently bought a 2nd gen shuffle used. I have about 7000 songs in my itunes library - most downloaded from my cd collection and about 250 or so purchased via itunes. when I try to select songs to sybc to the shuffle - it wont let me... I cant drag , I can't auto fill, i cant move over playlists - nothing.. the only thing i came across yesterday is that if I auto fill with my "purchased" play list - IT will only load THREE songs out of the hundred or so there.... these happen to be the 3 I most recently purchased which was about 10 days ago.
I have already - downloaded the most recent software, reset the ipod, enabled warnings, checked the "higher bit rate 128" box,checked the "enable disk use" box also read that a possible solution would be to change the letter designation of the drive on my computer... NOTHING works....
im running the 1.03 software on the shuffle and my itunes is 7.5.0.20

yes i did... my mind was smoking here but i finally figured out the problem. I had gone onto itunes to see if i could burn songs and reload them to see if the suffle would load them but when i went ot select songs the librbay ( although they were all listed ) was telling me they could not be found... all of them.. then i recalled a few weeks back my maxtor hard drive - 500 gb ( where my tunes are stored) came up with a weird message and i had to reassign the drive letter... so its seems that the itunes was not recongnizing the link to the actual files... thanks for you input.... appreciate it...

Song won't drag?

I just got a new laptop ... I used to have a desktop, and on my desktop I could drag songs onto iTunes .. However, this computer won't let me drag the songs. When I try dragging them, it shows that circle with the line through it. Is there anyway I could fix this? Or any way that I could make it so that whenever I add new content to my music folder, it will update to iTunes? thanks.

They are probably automatically reformatting themselves on your new computer, to a different format than itunes required. Go to Control Panel>Classic View (top left)>folder options>under 'view' tab make sure the "HIDE EXTENSIONS FOR KNOWN FILE TYPES" is unchecked. The create a shortcut file of one of your songs and put it on your desktop. Make sure the extension is able to played on iTunes.

Files won't drag to playlist/ipod since updating 2 diff computers/ipods?

Since allowing our pc's to update to the latest itunes (7) (we are both using windows xp, one is a lap tap and we have min ipods gen 2) we cannot drag tracks that are waiting in the file area to our playlists.
All we get is a round symbol with a line through as you try and drag. I have tried to add music from a cd, changed the format to mp3 and all the other options to see if that works, all the tracks have a little green tick next to them, so they have actually loaded into the library when I’ve asked them to, but they still won't move. In fact now nothing will drag from the right into the left playlist column, or into the ipod when it's connected, on 2 different PC's and ipods. This has only happened since updating itunes, so it most certainly is something to with the program and not our equipment.
I’ve checked that drag and drop is ticked in the start menu too!
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem and found a cure, as now we really can’t add any new stuff to our mini ipods

okay, you currently have "automatically update selected playlists only" engaged:
hudgie: iPod syncing options, OR, My iPod is locked in iTunes!
so unless a song is picked up by your "ipod selection" playlist, it won't sync to the ipod:

Firefox icon won't drag into applications folder

After I drag the icon, "something" seems to be happening, then it bounces back to the left and says 0 MB available.
I've updated Firefox many times, and this is the first time I've even gotten the prompt to drag the icon! I'm still using an old version.

Update to 3.6 won't drag into applications box - administrator has 'insufficient privileges"

I have downloaded 3.6 and tried to install by dragging icon into applications (in OSX). The action is not allowed due to "insufficient privileges". But this is when logged in as the administrator.

Songs won't import into library

Hi.
I have about 2,400 songs in my MY MUSIC folder. I tried to add this folder to my library so that I could then listen to my songs in my ipod. However, only 1,600 songs actually imported into the library. I tried to open the missing song files directly into the library, but they wouldn't open. I haven't checked all 800 missing songs, but many of the ones I did check were MP3 files. Why can't I open them in my library?

A lot of my music came from my ex boyfriend who put them in my laptop via an external harddrive after we broke up (We had been sharing a computer/music before then). Also, a lot of my music came from CDs that I ripped directly into my computer, but I converted all of those to MP3s, and most of them are working. The rest of my music came from soulseek.
The weird thing is that I cant find any pattern to the songs that won't add to my library. For example, I have a folder called "Cake - Comfort Eagle" which contains all the songs from the comfort eagle album. They were all downloaded at the same time, have the same file extensions, are all MP3s, and are in the same folder, but only the first 4 songs of that album will add into my library. I tried adding the rest of the songs from that album individually, but they won't work. I can listen to all the songs just fine in winamp, so i dont think the files are corrupted or anything.

Load itunes library from old computer. Installed iTunes& authorized new computer. iTunes recognizes my iPod nano (4th generation), but won't load songs when synchronizing.

I recently started having a problem were no songs I try to upload to my Ipod will actually stay in the Ipod. It tells me it uploads the songs in Itunes and when I look through the artist menu in the ipod, I notice that none of the songs that I uploaded are there. It happens also with podcasts. Songs won't sync into my iPod, this is a weird one!

So. I try to sync my 30G video to with my iTunes. (yes, it's the newest update of itunes)
Everything looks right, iTunes shows the status bar on the top, saying for example"transferring songs, 200/1000 Metallica - Master of Puppets, etc.", and it transfers all the songs, no error messages or anything (takes the normal time too, about 15 mins.
Then, when I try to find the songs on my iPod, they are not there.
So, then I restored the iPod to factory settings, and now I have NO (0) songs on it, even though I've tried to sync it many many times.
On the iPod tab, where it shows the bar with all the stuff on your iPod, it even says "5Gt video, 5Gt music" etc..
Oh, and if I try to sync the songs for the second or third time, after restoring, instead of saying:"5Gt video, 5Gt music" etc, the bar just says "10Gt OTHER".
Any help would be appriciated, I'm getting pretty frustrated over here...

This could be a case of drive letter confusion on your computer.
Go to the "change the Drive letter" section of this Support article, and follow the steps there:

I opened a new window in Firefox, which was still open from last night. I saw the notice:

So, I clicked on the download which ran fine. At step 3, drag the Firefox icon to the Applications icon, a pop up said I didn't have sufficient privileges to do that.
What does this mean and how do I fix it?! Thank you,
