Suddenly receiving error 8003 when downloading updates for apps

Hello -
I've suddently started receiving error 8003 when attempting to download updates to some of my apps. I continue to be able to download other content - new music purchases for example - but not this these 16 updates. I'm running iTunes 10.5.2 on OSX 10.6.8.
Any thoughts on this situation are much appreciated.

Try deleting the partial cached downloads in the iTunes media folder.
That error is outlined here -> iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
"Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023"
These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while accessing iTunes Store:
See iTunes 9: "One Moment Please" or "Error (-50)" message when accessing iTunes Store
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
Mac OS X:  ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
Windows Vista:  \Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
Windows 7:  \Users\username\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
Windows XP:  \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.

I recently started using a new Nikon D7100. The photos are not registering on Bridge or PS5 on my Macbook Pro. Accordingly, I tried several times to download and install the updates for Camera Raw, etc. Unfortunately, I keep getting a message that says "There was an error downloading this update. Thanks a lot Ned! I really appreciate your help! I did try this direct update and I was able to get 3 of the 4 updates to install. Unfortunately the Camera Raw 6.7 update that I really need didn't work. I was able to download it, but it did not install. The message I am getting is "Installation failed", with no other details. Any thoughts?

When downloading updates for Quicktime 7 and Itunes 10 I keep getting an error saying that files shared by these updates has an invalid signature and that the downloaded has been removed.

I even tried this on a iMac with similar results. The only difference was that the errorcode was called 2001 instead of 21.
Today I took the phone to www.iphoneambulancen.dk. A guy (in Aarhus, Denmark) that specializes in iPhone repairs. I figured, that given his occupation he'd seen most errorcdes. Two hours later, he called me back, and told me that he had replaced the battery.
So, it turns out that a broken battery can cause this behaviour.

I think I solved the problem by initiating the update in a different way, from the itunes panel where I can click to start the update, instead of saying yes when asked if I want to update when itunes launches in response to the iphone being plugged into the computer.

For the 2nd day my iPhone 5 will not let me download updates for apps. When i click update, it acts as if it is going to update but puts all apps in "waiting" status. I've tried selecting each, as well as deleting and re-downloading but to no avail.

Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!

In the Finder do a Get Info on one of those files & the folder it's in, report what it says for privileges.

I had this problem for about six weeks. I was following this forum but was too unsure of what might happen to try the fixes that were suggested.
About two weeks ago I decided to delete the downloads.28.sqlitedb file (usingDiskAid(a free program), on a PC running Windows 7). The original downloads.28.sqlitedb was 936 KB. The new one that the system created is 80 Kb., and has stayed at about that size. After about four days I also deleted all the other contents of the Download folder. Ten days later and still no more problems. Downloads are much quicker, nothing greys-out (as was happening frequently before).
Everything has worked well since with no more error messages.
I am using an iPod 4G, iOS 5.1 (originally iOS 5.0). I do not have a manifest file, and as far as I know, have not had one. DiskAid can search the whole "hard drive" on the iPod.
Deleting downloads.28.sqlitedb and the contents of Downloads worked for me.

My husband and I are using the same iTunes account on all mac & pc computers, but the libraries are different on each machine. We always manually manage our music (no auto sync). iTunes is up to date on the PCs. My husband uses our joint iTunes account on his pc, but once again, has a different collection in his library from those on the other machines. He can't load any music from his PC to his iphone 4. I can load music from my mac library to my iphone 4s, but cannot load from my pc library to my iphone 4s. How can I switch my main library that it syncs with from the mac to the pc?

Is there a way to automate downloads updates for iPhone or iPad (Apps) from itunes?
I did not find a way to do it with AppleScript?
There is a post said "No solution" for that option (from 2010). I wanted to know if the situation as changed since ?

Go into the App Store, go to the "Featured" link on the bottom left, and scroll all the way down. At the bottom, you'll see your account information. Click on that, enter your password if needed, and click "View Apple ID".
Near the bottom of that display, you'll see "Turn off Genius for Apps".
These instructions work for iOS 6. Your post says you have an earlier iOS. They may not work there.
Suggest you get iOS 6.0.1 if you don't already have it.

Error 8003 when downloading ITunes

Please HELP. I clicked on a story to download, and when it tries to download to me I get an "error 8003" and won't let me downlaod any more music. I don't know how to delete that one story.

I have just received an e-mail from Apple iTunes Support and they have issued me with a FULL refund of the purchase price of Avatar and the ( seemingly ) unobtainable iTunes Extras!
I seemed to be getting nowhere after Apples iTunes Support put me through the ringer making me re-try the download ( twice! ); delete my downloads folder and re-try the download AGAIN; and finally having to re-setup my old HP DV7 laptop ( I'm currently using a 17" MacBook Pro Retina ) and retry the download yet AGAIN!
Needless to say the outcome in each case was exactly the same! Avatar the movie downloads perfectly and The Extras file fails at zero% with TWO error 8003s!
Through all this I did everything, no matter how seemingly stupid it seemed that was asked of me and CONTINUED to insist that the fault was on their side and NOT mine!
iTunes support have finally advised me that they don't know when or even IF the file will be checked/repaired and in view of that and that I am a valued customer ( I'd want to be after buying 1.5TB of Music, Movies and TV Shows ) that they would refund me the FULL price I paid for the Movie and Extras!!
So, I would urge ALL of those who have written to this forum to write again to iTunes Support and DEMAND full refund for a faulty product ( the Movie PLUS Extras ), citing MY SUCCESS as precedent for that refund.
I'm saddened that it seems impossible to make Apple fix this file, but at the very least we should be re-imbursed for our trouble ( and our ability to put up with sh*t <sigh> )
So, good luck and start demending your right to a FULL refund!

Error 8003 when downloading a film.

I am lending two Movies form Itunes. The download is almost done. But it shows error 8003 and won t download any more. it says i should check my internet connection. but that one is all right.
and now it said, that the Film is due in 48 hours. I would like to see the film - because i paid for it.

Error 8003 is like the Check Engine light on your car: a lot of things can cause it and finding the cause is not always simple.

Having several send/receive and sync issues w outlook, that I am hoping will be resolved w the OS upgrade, but now also getting an error with the upgrade process itself, from 10.1 to 10.2.1 - "Error occurred while downloading to the device. Try again later"

I had the same problem trying to upgrade via Link. Worked first time direct from phone via OTA (Home wifi network).

HT204053 I have changed my Apple ID due to cancellation of my old email address. Now I can't download updates for apps under old ID. Why, when all settings have been changed on all my devices & in iTunes.

Why after changing my apple Id can I not down load updates to my devices. I've changed all settings to new Id & even tried to do updates through iTunes but keeps referring back to previous Id which had to be cancelled due to email address change. Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in with the new ID. However, app updates for your apps purchased with your older ID will always ask for the password for this ID. (Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them.)
