Suddenly Safari can't render some websites properly.

Suddenly, Safari started to act wierd yesterday. Some websites don't render properly and the formatting is very bad. The problem is Safari, since I have no problems when using Firefox. Here's some pictures:
The websites shown are facebook, Lynapp (photo viewer application) and time for TV (danish online TV guide). To me is seems that elements in the background are misplaced and somehow the font for commenting stuff on facebook is changed to curier or some random mono-spaced font. That's only on my side of course. Also, certain elements on a simple bulletinboard-style forum is highlighted with a clear green color like this:
(Don't mind the red & white boxes, it's the green stuff I mean).
Could it be some problem with CSS or HTML5?
I have tried to disabling WebGL, clearing the cache and doing a complete reinstall of safari but neither of it worked. I don't want to go back to using Firefox because I really like Safari with the awesome iOS integration.
Any ideas?

Anyone noticed this? I was browsing Ikea website on my Mac mini today, and realize the color and buy online option for the furniture can't de displayed on the Mac Safari, but my iPad Safari can display these options without any problem. I thought it's the Mac Safari, so I switched to Firefox, still, no color and buy online options...

  • Can't access some websites and speed problem

    Hi guys,
I hope to find some help here please as I am desperate!
It has been a week now that I am having problems with my broadband, suddenly I can't access some italian's websites (which I was able to access before). The browser tries to load up the page but nothing happens (it doesn't even give me an error). I tried those website on both my laptops (one windows and one mac) and on 3 different browsers but I have the same problem.
I even tried to use Google DNS on my mac but that didn't solve the problem, I have already tried to reset my BT home hub but again that didn't help.
    Any ideas?
The other thing is that my broadband speed is really strange, because before it used to be very fast during the day (500-600 kb/s download) and really slow during peak-hours (which I know is normal). But for the past month it has been really slow (70kb/s download) even during the day, it has some brief moments when it's slightly faster but not as fast as before. Any suggestions on what would be the problem or what I can try?
I will really appreciate your help.
    Thank you all
    Robbie

  • Upgraded to Mavericks, now I can't get some websites to load

I am not sure if the two issues are related, but I recently upgraded to Mac OS X Mavericks and now my internet browsers are really slow and I can't get some websites to load. When I check to see if the website is up, the response from http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ is that it is just me. I assume it must be something with the upgrade as I did not have the issue prior to upgrading. I have tried accessing these sites in various browsers (Safari - preferred, Firefox, and Chrome), but none of them receive data from the site.
I also had a lot of trouble attaching a .jpg to an e-mail in Safari and Firefox. Google Chrome was finally able to get it to attach. I wonder if this is related.
Some of the websites that won't load are
    http://www.phdcomics.com
    http://isitdownrightnow.com
    http://tnlottery.com
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Safari can't open any website

Safari can't open any website and it shows a message about not connecting to the server. What should i do to fix it?

I could - rarely - find where a 3rd party product update may have some adverse side effect, but rare.
Maybe Safari 5.1 for Windows added and closed security but wasn't tested enough to see what effects it would have.
Consider, seems every day the same question is posed and asked.
There is a command to flush Windows DNS I saw....
I just tried to go to one thread and it vanished "Looking for something" and blank page now.

  • I use Yahoo mail. Why do I sometimes get a message saying "Safari can't identify the website ca.mg5.mail.yahoo.ca ? When I click continue there is no problem.

How do I stop getting messages saying "Safari can't identify the website ca.mg5.mail.yahoo.com.  The cerrtificate for this website is invalid " In fact there does not appear to be a problem because when I click "continue" everything proceeds as usual. But I would like to stop getting this message.

    Back up all data.
Unlock the Network preference pane, if necessary, by clicking the lock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Cllck Advanced, open the DNS tab, and change the server addresses to the following:
    8.8.8.8
    8.8.4.4
That's Google DNS. Click OK, then Apply.
    In Safari, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. If you’re using another browser, empty the cache. Test. Any difference?
    Notes:
    1. If you lose Internet access after making the above change to your network settings, delete the Google servers in the Network preference pane, then select the TCP/IP tab and click Renew DHCP Lease. That should restore the original DNS settings; otherwise restore them yourself. Remember that you must clickApply in order for any changes to take effect.
    2. I don't use Google DNS myself, though I have tested it, and I'm not recommending it or any other DNS provider; the server addresses are offered merely for testing purposes. There may be privacy and technical issues involved in using that service, which you should investigate personally before you decide whether to keep the settings. Other public DNS services exist.

  • Safari unable to render some YouTube pages

    I have Safari 5.1.2.
Safari is suddenly unable to render some pages over at YouTube.  For example:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCBBv9LVGmc.  Safari seems to start loading the page, then starts all over, and then starts all over ... and then finally I get this message:  "Safari can't display this webpage.  Safari has repeatedly encountered an error ..."  I also get the same problem and message when I go to this page:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBrsM_WlfV8.
This does not happen with every YouTube page.  Just some.
I have closed and reopened Safari.  I have cleared the cache.  Same problem.  I have also uninstalled the Click to Flash extension.  Same problem.  Curiously, I do not have a problem with the page when I use my Camino browser.
Has anyone encountered this problem before?  Any solutions?
    TIA.

  • Problem with Safari and Firefox opening some websites

In Firefox I have recently been getting:
    THE CONNECTION IS RESET
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
    * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
    moments.
    * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.
    * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web
    Also a message in Safari:
"Safari can’t open the page because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection, which sometimes occurs when the server is busy. You might be able to open the page later."
It is only occurring with a few sites, but occurs on the same websites in both browsers.
I'm using an iMac, running OSX 10.4.11 and using Airport to connect to a Netgear wireless router.
I've emptied cashes, cleaned cookies, reset browsers etc, I've run MacScan, but the problem persists.
Having already done some on-line searches I have seen people talk about proxies, DNS and possible malware (though usually referring solutions to PC's.
Any one know of a fix for this?

    Hi,
Make sure your are running the latest version of Safari. From the Safari Menu Bar click: About Safari
The version number will be displayed there. You need to be using 4.0.4 If Safari needs updating go to your Apple Menu then click Software Updates.
Safari 4.0.4 requires the 2009-001 Security Update. Open System Preferences/Software Updates - Installed Updates. If that update is not listed go here.
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/SecurityUpdate_2009_001__Tiger_PPC
Also, open System Preferences/Network. Select the tab. Make sure none of the boxes are
checked under: Select a proxy server to configure
Try disconnecting the router from it's power source for 5 minutes, reconnect the router and
    restart your Mac.

  • I can't access some websites, log in on some websites or have some websites remember my username and password.

Before I asked this question, I went through all the questions and answers and guides that were about problems similar to these but they never worked.
For some websites, it's as simple as not being able to log in. I will enter my account details but it will take me back to the log in page.
Some websites say that they can't 'redirect properly'.
I've looked up the solutions to these problems, but they didn't work. I think I'm experiencing another problem because one of the solutions that I think might work isn't being completed properly. When I try to do the 'use custom settings for history' fix, Firefox never remembers my settings.
The only add-on I have is AdBlock Plus.

  • Safari can't access some sites

My husband's work has a website they need to access to get info about the company. We only have my iMac at home, and I think the site is mainly compatible with Internet Explorer, which of course is not available to Macs anymore, or at least I know it doesn't work on mine (won't even open). Is there any way Safari can get a plug in or something to help him access his website? We keep getting the 404 error _file not found , or page not found.
The answer is probably no, which he is really upset about~why should he have to go buy a second computer just to access a work site, but maybe somewhere here has encountered a solution.
    Thanks!
    Susan

It sounds like this particular website has some issues.
But here's something that is sometimes useful: You can get a Developer's "Debug" menu to appear in Safari, and under this menu is an option to select "User Agent." This allows Safari to present itself as a different browser type -- including MS IE 6.0 for Windows. Of course, Safari is not really IE, and this won't make it act like IE, but if a server is rejecting your requests simply because of the browser it thinks you're using, then this might work.
Here's how to get the Debug menu to show: Open Applications > Utilities > Terminal.app. At the prompt, type exactly the following...
    defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1
The next time you launch Safari, a Debug menu will appear to the right of the Help menu. If you decide you want to hide this menu in the future, open Terminal and type the same command with a zero at the end instead of a one...
    defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 0
Note: If you change the User Agent, then in order to restore the default of "Automatically Chosen," you must close Safari and reopen it. (For additional information about this feature, see Apple Developer - Safari FAQ.)

  • Safari can't open a website

Hi, can anyone help with the following problem? safari doesn't open a website (www.nasza-klasa.pl) bcs it cannot find the server. tried to reset safari, didn't help. tried firefox as well, same result. the website can be opened with iexplorer on a pc without any problems. this since couple of days, didn't have the problem before.. thx in advance for any hints!
    greetz, adzia

I have experienced the same problems Brand new iMac for Christmas came with Tiger installed did and update to Leopard that came with the computer. Can't connect to certain websites and some won't load the associated graphics, i.e. apple.com, yahoo.com, and gmail. Called Apple support they suggest resetting safari, worked for a couple of hours. Called back and they suggested power off iMac disconnect the cat5 from the computer, power down the router, power down the dsl modem, wait 3 minutes. Then restart the modem, router and then connect the cat. They explained that this would help the iMac correct the problem of connecting to the DNS server. This solution was also short lived, a few hours. I also have experienced problems associated with servers in Mail and iTunes. total time on phone with support including wait time 3 hours. This is getting old. Any ideas on workarounds I am happy to try. I will download firefox and give that a try. I have two other laptops one windows, and the other a MacBook and have not problems connecting to the internet.

  • Recently safari can't load any page properly?

when i start up safari it loads google as my home page fine, but when i try to direct it to another site like youtube or twitter or anything at all it can't load the page properly, and instead loads the sites with a plain white background and all the links are in a norma blue font in a list type format on the page. does anyone know why this has happened?

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari
Select:  Clear History / Remove all website data / Clear the Downloads list
Click Reset. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, try troubleshooting extensions and third party plug-ins.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.

  • Can't access some websites. Possibly DNS problem.

This problem only started to occur a couple of days ago. I found that I can't access certain websites, but all the other computers in exactly the same network environment have no problem accessing them. I tried changing my DNS server settings from the servers my ISP provided to the Google DNSs, 8.8.8.8 and 4.4.4.4, and those websites I couldn't access before became accessible immediately, but some other websites, which I was able to access with the DNS provided by my ISP before, became inaccessible again. I tried using another set of DNS addresses, the same thing happened: some websites that I couldn't access before became accessible, but some others become inaccessible again. All these DNS servers that I used work perfectly on other computers in my network, so it has to be the problem of my computer. This has nothing to do with the browser, as all of the browers in my system have the same problem, even including the Internet Explorer in my VMware Windows virtual machine. I tried flushing the DNS cache with dscacheutil -flushcache, and it didn't work.
I'm using Lion 10.7.3 on MacBook Pro MC371. Please help!

Please give an example of a site you can't access now.
