Sudoku makes backlight revert to 10 sec
On my iPod classic 80GB I like to keep my backlight "always on", but whenever I run Sudoku, the backlight reverts to 10 seconds. What's up with that?
I upgraded to the newer version of Sudoku (your welcome Apple/EA) and upon noticing this problem, performed a "Restore" to no avail.

I'm trying to make a ring to for iPhone and about 20 sec into the playing of the song it fades out and goes silent. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
Im not sure what garage band is, but i can tell you the way apple recommends making ringtones. Highlight a song in iTunes, right click and select get info. Goto the options tab and youll see the time lengths (write down the ending time) for the start time type in where you want the ringtone to start, ringtones can only be 30 sec long so make the ending time 30 sec later. Exit it out of the info and while song highlighted goto the "advanced" tab at the top of iTunes where you will see an option that says "create aac version". after creating the aac version you will have a duplicate song in your iTunes, change the original back to the correct time length. Take the 30 sec aac version and drag it to your desktop, right click the icon and click "preferences" You will then be able to change the name of the file which will be somethign to the effect of "songnamehere.m4a" you just change the m4a to m4r. you now have a ringtone, drag the new file to iTunes where it will pop up in a new tab labled ringtones. If you cannot change the name of the file when it is on your desktop let me know and i will give you instuctions how to be able to change it. Once you get it figured out you can use any song you have on iTunes to make a ringtone.

IOS 6.1.3 Update on iphone 5- can no longer make calls

Since upgrading this morning I can no longer make calls.
Sometimes the call drops as it starts to ring. Sometimes it tries to make the connection for 10 secs again but then give me the dreaded 3 beeps.
Was perfect until I upgraded - but not now.
Help!I have discovered that my iTunes media folders permissionslî(file attributes) were read only, and that is why the iTunes program was unable to see my music, except the cloud songs. When I changed the permissions and then "added the folder" iTunes was able to see all my itunes media. However after closing out iTunes and rue entering, the music and Apps were no longer visible. Looking again at the iTunes file permissions in windows, I found they were again designated "read only". I changed them again and add folder, but something is causing the file attributes of my iTunes folders to be "read only". Please provide any insight or suggestions for correcting.

Backlight on my iPhone 4s doesn't work properly
When I came into well-lit place, the backlight is becoming stronger(brighter), but when I go into a dark place, the light does not become smaller. I have to lock and unlock the iPhone again to make backlight darker. How can I solve this problem?
That's the way mine has always behaved. It will get brighter if the ambient light increases, but it does not dim if it decreases.

Audio Fade In Fade Out -1 Sec?
Captivate v5.5
I have created a v5.5 Captivate project, imported the audio to each slide after creating the audio with Audacity and am now starting to sync the audio with the animations.
I have just noticed that every slide in my project has the following audio setting;
I dont recall making this audio setting.
1. Where is the Fade In Fade Out option setting to ensure this does not get applied again to future projects?
2. I cannt see how to remove the 1 second Fade In / Fade Out for the whole project.
Do I have to edit this slide by slide?

If I had not taken that screenshot I might have started to doubt myself.
On receipt of your reply I went back to the project with the issue, and would you believe it, all the slides have reverted back to 0sec Fade In and 0sec Fade Out!
I have not made any changes and now have no idea why this happened in first place or what happened to make them revert to correct 0sec settings - but will keep an eye on it and hope that it was a one off Monday morning "glitch".

Tabs won't close? even if I click 'x', reverts to blank Firefox screen. android Sii mobile
I've just started using mobile Firefox, but it won't let me close ant tabs - there are 12 tabs item now. help! Even clicking 'x' only makes screen revert to a screen with adj there tabs shown that are active (12) of them.
Did exactly that.. as I mentioned, that got rid of the image of hte page, taking me to an overview of all the pages open, but when I then tap the upper right corner to show all the open pages again, it's still there, and still comes up and still reads '23' (I now have 23 pages open.. ugh)

Indesign CS6 printer settings reverting to default

We have a problem which has started recently for some students when printing from Indesign CS6. Most of them have print presets which they created months ago for printing to the default printer using secure print, A3, heavyweight paper, bypass tray etc. They were working fine, but now, when they print a document using that preset it just prints on standard paper and normal (not secure) print.
I checked their print presets and in the setup for the printer within the print preset the settings have changed to the default settings. If I delete the preset and create another one any changes I make in the setup / preferences for that printer revert back as soon as I click 'Ok'. A work around I have found is that when I click 'setup' if I click on any other printer, then click back to the correct (default) printer, then click preferences and make the changes they stick and do not change back to the default settings.
This issue happens without using print presets as well, If you choose file / print and then setup, and you do not click on any other printer and then back again to the correct printer before clicking 'preferences' any changes you make will revert to default as soon as you click 'Ok'
It only seems to be affecting Indesign.
The printer is a Xerox Docucenter C6680, using the PCL 6 driver on a print server. We are also running Papercut.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? I have tried trashing the Indesign prefs but this does not seem to help

Hey, my 1.1 update went smooth, only thing is that I normally keep the backlight off and then just click and hold menu to turn it on/off when I want it. only thing is, the new update seems to have changed that control, now when u hold menu it takes you all the way back to the main menu. Anyone know how to make backlight go on and off or how to change that setting.

Hi,
I got the other day for christmas a megaplayer 533 mp3 player and have had acouple of little problems.
It seems that when I try to tune in radio stations and save channels etc the player will crash. have to remove and replace battery everytime. It even crashes sometimes with playing mp3's. it mainly happens when i have hit stop.
It also has afew tries booting up before it works. And it has also failed to boot too. Have to do the battery trick to get it going again.
Do I have a faulty player or is this normal for the mega player 533?
Overall I am very happy with player so far, except for this annoying crashing! I have tried flashing to the latest firmwire, as of 28.12.05.

Werdy666ok just to make sure i am doing this right this is what i did to flash the firmware....
- removed battery
- held down on button
- plugged usb cable into player
- waited for computer to detect usb device
- ran firmwire update via the start menu
- updated and formatted memory.
- disconnected from computer
- put battery back in
then i turned it back on, turned backlight on to 30 secs and changed Equalizer to rock. had no mp3's so i went straight for the radio. when to tune in a station and the thing reset itself.
then typed this message!
is it faulty? not a prob to take it back and get another one, but don't want to return it if its a user fault! lol

Hey there, I just bought a Creative Zen 4GB yesterday, and so far, I absolutely love it. Haven't had any problems syncing music, price was great, and much more versatility than an iPod. I just have a few questions. First, is there a way to turn the backlight totally off without putting the player on hold? I know that the backlight dims within 5 secs, but it still stays on. Last, the video converter tells me that my file is not suitable for playback, so I choose to convert it, but it refuses to convert the video. Is there any other converter I can use? Thanks a lot for the help, I am very impressed by this product.

(In the custom size box, allow about ~6MB for every minute of playback, for example, if the input video is 3 minutes, set the custom output to 8MB, this is just so the bitrate doesn't exceed a bandwidth that the Zen can't decode. Also set the maxium width in advanced options to "320", and the audio to VBR or CBR of your choice, I'd say 92VBR).

I'm trying to activate the ambient sensor, to turn on keyboard backlight when I'm in dark ambients, but isn't working.
I tried to use sony-acpid-git from AUR, but had this error when trying to load module:

Lag playing and exporting video
Hi, I have Premiere Pro CS4;my problem is that I make a short video (15 sec.; 640x480; MPEG-4) to learn how to use the application.

My idea was to make a new video, erasing 3 sec. from the original, where my grandfather appears. Reading in this forum i learnt how to make this using trims; I create 2 subclips and I added them to the Program Monitor. No problems!!
Export the media, Media Encoder open normally, select an output format: H.264 - Youtube preset, I want to use this because I will make short videos to companies and upload to Youtube. Export was fine.
But when I play the new video in any media player (klite, windows media player, adobe media player), the movie is shake (lag or choppy).

For example: the video is playing and in a moment the video reverse 1 second in a snap and continue playing from that point, sometimes this problem occurs in a second, and the next second, and the next second.
And this choppy/lag/shake doesn't occur in the set in/out points of trims, else in almost all the movie. The audio layout is perfect. The trouble is the video. I had exported in almost all the output formats. AVI, uncompressed avi, mpeg, ...
Reviewing the problem, and playing the subclips inside Premiere, I see that the same problem occurs too.
When I make a subclip, and play after (inside premiere), I see the problem inmediately. That's the real problem, How to make a good subclip without this problem?
My computer hardware is:
-windows xp sp3.
-intel dual core processor @ 2.66 ghz.
-ram 2 gb.
-nvidia serie 8 with 256mb.
-I had installed all the updates.

I use now Klite Avidemux to create subclips, and after use Premiere to import them, and create the sequenece, delete the audio layout and add another.

Login Window on Wrong Screen in Dual Monitor Setup
I have two monitors attached to my MacBook Pro running OS X 10.10. When I boot up with the lid closed, I see the start up sequence (Apple logo and progress bar) shown on the monitor that is my "primary" monitor of the two monitors. But when boot up is complete and the login window appears, it shows on the secondary monitor, not the primary. My primary monitor is connected via Thunderbolt, and the secondary monitor is attached to the HDMI port on my MacBook Pro. Any ideas how to set the login screen to show up on the primary monitor?
I have exactly this same issue on a Late 2012 Hexacore Mac pro (The last real one LOL)
My primary screen (a 24inch VGA 1080p monitor) shows the Apple boot logo (with progress bar) whilst the secondary display (32inch HDMI 1080p LCD TV) is plain white
then when the initial login box appears that comes up on the 2nd display (Even if it is turned off) meaning I have normally have to turn that screen on, log in then turn it off again
I have also noticed that the screen layout is wrong. Once logged in the 32" display is logically located above the 24" one. However for the login dialog they default to side by side. meaning movingthe mouse up to the TV to log in means going left ot right... Not very good really.
Not enough to make me revert to Mavericks from Yosemite, but still quite annoying.

Safari used to let me drag an image from a webpage to the finder and have the dragged file be saved as an actual image but now all that's saved is a webloc file. I want the image saved, not a reference to the image's URL - do I now have to always use "save as" to save it?
I can understand Safari creating a webloc file if I dragged the site icon from the location bar to the finder, but to make the default behavior for dragging things that are parts of a page (not the page itself) as webloc files seems like a HUGE step backwards for usability.
Does anyone know if there's, say, a key to hold when dragging to avoid saving a webloc file or a defaults command or something to make Safari revert back to sane draging behavior?Good questions... I'll have to try and figure out when the problem first happened - I was thinking it was when I upgraded to Safari 5.1.4 but that might not be the case... I'll try your suggestions to see if any of them eliminate the problem (I have restarted recenlty and that didn't fix it) but I'll try repairing permissions,etc. Thanks!
hmmm... Mcbuffy: are you implying that you *don't* get the webloc when dragging an image out of Safari and that this isn't a caused by change to Safari but is a big/conflict in mine?
