Suggested alternative to key mapping?

Hello!
I started using Abelton live for putting together easily accessible virtual instruments for live performance. For example, if my band performs the entire Dark Side of the Moon album, I can create each song in order of the album with the necessary pianos,synths, and organs for each and easily enable/disable them with the use of key mapping (assigning on screen functions to keys on my laptops keypad, just to be thorough) I have a M-Audio Keystation 61 which is a very simple midi controller and doesn't have any knobs for a lot of on screen control. So the use of key mapping is important for me.
I like the layout and simplicity of Mainstage and would rather use it for this sort of thing, but without key mapping I have no quick way of (for example) muting and unmuting instruments within each song/performance other than trying to do it with the mouse, which is too sketchy for live performance.
Also with Abelton, I could assign the volume slider on my midi controller to multiple channels/instruments, i.e. control volume for 2 or 3 instruments at once, mainstage only lets me assign one on screen function per project to a single midi hardware control
I don't know a ton about Mainstage, so my questions are ...
1. Is there an alternative to key mapping for mainstage?
2. Is it possible to assign multiple on screen functions to one hardware control?

If you are 'short' of buttons/switches on your keyboard controller, you could create screen-controls assigned to (say) the lowest notes on your keyboard, and then map them to Next/Previous patch Actions in order to change Patches in MS.

Multiple mappings are possible via the Screen Control Inspector (or the new Assignments and Mappings Pane). Select the Screen Control, and in the Inspector click the '+" button (top right of the Inspector) to add an additional mapping.

Key mapping to extension.

Hi,
I have setup Exchange 2010 with Unified Messaging role and Lync 2010. They are integrated and working fine.
I also have a prompt that says: "Welcome to CompanyABC. If you know the extension number of the person you wish to speak to, please dial now. Alternatively, press 1 for Group1, 2 for Group2, 3 for Group3, 9 for Group4 or hold the line".
Each extension has 3 digits and what I need to achieve is if the user press 3 digits on the main prompt, he gets transferred to the extension. However, this seems not to be an option on the UM Auto Attendant because the key mapping only accepts
one digit.
Does anyone know how to implement this scenario on Exchange UM?

you are probably trying to acheive both DTMF key mapping dialing AND extension dialing at the same time. Exchange UM AA cannot do this. Below is a work around:

Problem with key mapping in 10g

Hello,
my client is using key mapping on their reports server. It works fine except for parameter values...
I can run this URL:
http://<host>/reports/rwservlet?kr+2002+20
and there is a mapping for kr in the cgicmd.dat file like this:
kr: report=KR userid=<user>/<pw>@orcl desformat=html destype=cache p_verksamhetsar=%1
p_verksamhetsar is a parameter of the report (meaning year).
My problem is that when the report is run using the above URL the parameter gets the value 2002=
An equal sign is added! The year column is a varchar2 so the query works but gives no result.
I get the same problem if I try this URL:
http://<host>/reports/rwservlet?kr%262002%2620
If I run this URL it works fine (with a result as well):
http://<host>/reports/rwservlet?report=KR&userid=<user>/<pw>@orcl&desformat=html&destype=cache&p_verksamhetsar=2004
Any suggestions?

I think you mean %* at the end, meaning all parameters sent.
Yes, I use this approach now as I've been unable to get %1, %2 etc to work.
Strange, because %1 is described in the manual and I feel I use it like they say.
Well, it works in a way, just that = is appended to the values.
It has that buggy smell :)

KEY MAPPING IN FMRWEB.RES DEPENDS ON ITEM ELEMENT CURSOR STANDS ON

Key mapping in fmrweb.res depends on item element cursor stands on.
If cursor stands on checkbox item, key-f2 (our ctrl-ins key shortcut) trigger fires, but if cursor stands on text item, it doesn't work.
I would appreciate any suggestion.

Key Mapping / URL hiding etc

Hi All APex Fans,
I'm in the process fo deploying a public application . ( i.e. zero authentication)
My URL is a typical HTMLDB URL which reveals certain key fields depending on which page of the application you are :

In other words , Managers are horrified by the fact that this URL reveals a bunch of key fields and information .
I can hide the first part using virtual host - but How do I create "key mappings" for the rest of the URL that starts with ?p=.....
Is there such a thing called Key Mapping available for HTMLDB ? ( similar to what we have in Oracle Reports)
Or is it much preferable to use Frames ( where the main frame stays static to the main URL and the Window frames play the HTML DB application pages without revealing HTMLDB URLS ?
Could be a dumb question - but I am also being a mouth piece to some Oracle Reports experts who feel very strongly about HTMLDB URLS which they said reveal too much of its key info.
Any suggestions ?

Only pass the items that you need to (for example primary keys of records you wish to manipulate). Most other item values can actually be set in the page itself.REPLY : That's exactly what I do / did.
typically , the USERID does not show on any page at all- it only shows up IF and only IF i open a "drill-down" pop-up in a new window from a main page that brances to it using a USERID.
- pop-ups typically don't show URLS. I know.
But I was only playing both good and devil's advocate to explain my anti-SQL-Injection strategy . I was trying to explain how I made sure "malicious users" won't be able to play with URL to reveal confidential info because I have other checks in the SQL code to block confidentation info, even if the user=USERID is displayed if that USERID is set from the browser.
Unfortunately , I had to show them how you could substitute portions of the pop-up URL , for the actual URL and play with URL.
( I won't say I have shot myself in the foot) - But now the users are expressing general concerns about setting this USERID from the browser.
Who said DBA's and developers only struggle with machines ... ? It's complicated for users to understand .

Key mapping problem in Intercompany Integration Solution for SBO

I am installing Intercompany integration solution 2.0 for SAP Business One in SBO 9.0 PL12. I installed Integration framewerk, have the several DB in the SLD, with test succesfull. I registered the addon in the databases, Installed the Intercompany integration solution scenarios. Everything ok. I also configured settings in SAP Business One with the Intercompany Initialization Wizard in all companys
I have the next problem. When doing key mapping, i try to continue mapping PaymentTerms but i click the button with ... dots and try to choose an option, it appears blanck, cannot select any optiion from the other database. I mark the button i prese and see the seleccioction window empty
When i try to Download Key Mapping Excel Template Data and select PaymentTerms, It saves a file with the next error (it has not a csv structure)
245 - Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value '10 DIAS : 10' to data type int. - S0001 -
Any suggestions ?

Please ensure that in your Payment Terms code, no such special character has been used that are reserved by XML.This may cause conflict with the XML format and may lead to this issue.
Moreover, for analysis, you may provide with the list of common Payment Terms across your Intercompany participating companies.

Key Mapping Enter to Tab

Hi Java experts,
In my application I need to map the Enter key on the number pad to the Tab key. I need this to happen EVERYWHERE on EVERY screen in the app. Basically I just want to do a field advance every time this key is pressed. I do have a common main panel on which I can perform a key mapping. Here is my failed attempt to make it happen:

Key mapping on Symbol MC 9000 with Websapconsole

I am trying to map hardver key on mobile device MC 9000 which should work as a function keys as on the desktop. I am using websapconsole 7.1 and as a browser I use pocket internet explorer.
In websapconsole administrator I checked field "Function key mapping" but it doesn't work.
I read that should by use CTRL + key but it doesnt work. I also try software Naurtech but with the same result.
Could anyone give me some suggestion how to map hardver(buttons on device) keys to function keys?

Thrums1,
I've never had to "register" ViaVoice after updating the system. I thus suspect you haven't fully followed my above, three-step advice (particularly step 3).
1) Reinstall ViaVoice from CD.
2) Update to the latest version (using the patch downloadable from Nuance's website).
3) Replace the “temp” and “users” folders (in the "ViaVoice" folder at the upper level of your home directory) by a previous copy thereof. When I say previous copy, I mean a copy from when ViaVoice was still working properly, e.g. a copy from when it was running under Tiger.
As I said, I've gotten ViaVoice to survive several system updates by following the above steps. To my knowledge, the last step is critical since it saves you from having to reconfigure ViaVoice under the new operating system (in this case Leopard). I suspect that ViaVoice is crashing on your system because it's trying to start some module of the SetUpAssistant that is incompatible with Leopard (as many are). If you instead use old copies of the "temp" and "users" folders (from the previous system), then ViaVoice doesn't have to go through the initial "registration" process; ViaVoice doesn't need the SetUpAssistant; and all is (more or less) fine.

BTW, to my knowledge, Dictate only runs on Intel Macs. It thus won't run on a G4 iBook, just as it won't run on my PowerBook G4.

Key Mapping Information

We have a case where we would like to move a selected set of materials from repository 1 to another repository 2 and still maintain the Key Mapping information that those materials have from the original Import into repository.
Any suggestion?

I just want to summarize if I understood you right: you have a category that has some products. You want to migrate both into a second repository. Migration of the category is working but the key mapping information is lost or incomplete?!
How do your products look like? Do they have multiple key mapping entries? The syndicator would be able to distribute multiple key mappings (you can add multiple target systems in the destination properties of your map). But Import Manager is currently able to import only one key mapping records for a single remote system during an import run. This would mean that you have to syndicate your products for each remote systems and you have to do the same amount of imports.

Hp t510 right alt key mapping not working with ctrl + s

Using the HP t510 to launch a xendesktop session via storefront. We have a mission critical application that uses the ctrl + alt + s hotkey to secure itself. The left alt key with ctrl + s is working as it should but the right alt key does not. When testing in the win7 on screen keyboard the right alt and ctrl stay lit up. When hitting the S key after depressing both the right alt + ctrl (right or left ctrl doesn't matter) the alt keys disappear from the on screen keyboard as if they were no longer pushed. They hotkey combination never makes it to the application and it does not secure itself.
I've tested this same workflow on an ASUS thin client, desktop, and laptop hardware with no issues. It does in fact seem to be some hotkey mapping the HP device has baked into it using the right alt key.
Has anyone seen any issues that even closely mimic this? I've seen some for ctrl + alt + del but their fixes don't work for this specific issue.

Key map problem (cgicmd.dat)

I am trying to set the server name in the key map file but am not having any luck (i.e. the report always comes back with
a request for the server name).
Here is the key:
epcdb_run: server=rptsvwww008 destype=cache desformat=HTMLCSS %*
The cgicmd.dat file is found but no matter what I do, I always have to specify the server on the actual URL.
(this works http://..//epcdb_run?server=rptsvwww008, this doesn't http://...//epcdb_run
We have a large number of drill-down reports and I am trying to set the server name in one place for portability reasons.

Some suggestions,
(1). First of all, make sure your url is like:
http://<server-name>:<port>/<cgi-bin>/rwcgi60.exe?epcdb_run
Not
http://<server-name>:<port>/<cgi-bin>/rwcgi60.exe//epcdb_run (as you said in your message).
(2). Please do a showmap: http://....../rwcgi60.exe/showmap, and verify key epcdb_run's content is correct. Sometimes you may have more than one keymap file in your system, and you may accidentally use another key map file.
(3). Please do a parsequery: http://...../rwcgi60.exe/parsequery?epcdb_run. Web command "parsequery" is for diagnostic purpose, you can see what parameters reports CGI is received and will be passed to Reports Server. You should be able to see if the server name is there.

How to undo a key mapping?

My daughter's 15" Macbook Pro has a strange key mapping to "Shift-C". It won't show the letter "C" but will show "c" (lowercase) and if you hit the caps lock, you can then press "c" and have an uppercase "C" appear... but not with Shift-C. I've looked through the System Preferences for the Keyboard and "Language & Text" but not found any entries that show "Shift-C". I rebooted (good 'ole reboot) but that didn't work either.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Did you try to start with shift (Start Items are disabled). Or create a new account, switch to it and see whether the problem persists. This is an indicator, whether this problem is due to a software conflict.
Try to start the keyboard viewer. If you don't find it, enter the following command into the Terminal and hit <enter>
open -a KeyboardViewer
and see whether the Shift-C is wrong.

Edit Key Mapping

Hi Folks,
I have encounter one problem while doing merging of two records either in Vendor or in Material. I have set EDIT KEY MAPPING in console as ON .
But after merging two records i am not getting any records in the EDIT KEY MAPPING pop-up it is blank.
Please suggest any change which i have do and for information i am using Maps saved from standard maps.

Hi Rohit,
Please check following console settings:
Unload the repository.
In left pane in the console select the repository on which remote key mapping is to be applied .After this from the right pane select the table on which remote key to be applied and enable the key mapping by making it YES.
If you are using the Main table then Select Main Table like Vendors/Customers/Product in your right pane of Console i.e. Tables pane and enable the key mapping by making it YES for this table.
Now In Import Manager select source table and select that destination table for which you enabled key mapping just create one Clone field which can provide useful info e.g. you can create clone of Important fields like Customer ID for Customer table or Vendor Number for vendors table. 
Now check it out and let me know.

Remote System and Remote Key Mapping at a glance

Hi,
I want to discuss the concept of Remote System and Remote Key Mapping.
Remote System is a logical system which is defined in MDM Console for a MDM Repository.
We can define key mapping enabled at each table level.
The key mapping is used to distinguish records at Data Manager after running the Data Import.
Now 1 record can have 1 remote system with two different keys but two different records cannot have same remote system with same remote key. So, Remote key is an unique identifier for record for any remote system for each individual records.
Now whenever we import data from a Remote System, the remote system and remote key are mapped for each individual records. Usually all records have different remote keys.
Now, when syndicating back the record with default remote key is updated in the remote system that is sent by xml file format.
If same record is updated two times from a same remote system, the remote key will be different and the record which is latest contains highest remote key.
Now, I have to look at Data Syndication and Remote key.
I have not done Data Syndication but my concept tell if there is duplicate record with same remote system but different remote keys both will be syndicated back. But if same record have two remote keys for same remote system then only the default remote key is syndicated back.

Yes, but if they are duplicate, they needs to be merged.
But if same record have two remote keys for same remote system then only the default remote key is syndicated back.
This is after merging. So whichever remote key has tick mark in key mapping option(default) , it will be syndicated back.

Key mapping

Hi All,
I have 3 fields in my source file Id,Category (Key Mapping) ,Name.
In Import Manager
I have mapped Remote Key field with ID .
Name with Name
category with Category Qualified Range (A 1-10)
I have source file like this
Id name category
11 10 A
In syndicator i have one more field Material Number .Mapped this with Material Number (should Get generated material Number )
Name with Name
Category with Category
Remote Key value with Material Number
After syndication I am getting Id values in Material Number .(Instead of 1 I am getting 11)
Can any one let me know the solution?

Got It . Should not Map Id field with the Remote key in Import Manager.
