Suggested Java Cert Books/Online study material

I'm looking to finish my JCP but need to look into getting a book or a few books. Right now cost is not an issue but time is. I read through tech books like a hot knife through butter so the more information packed into a book the better. Also, I'm looking for a book that would come with some study guides and practice software. I'm going to take a month off and fork over the dough for the JCP in about a month. My strong points would be in web development but the AWT and Swing I'm a bit shakey on.
Suggestions?

    Hi There,
Could anyone recommend study material for the new Java EE 6 Web Component Developer exam.
I have already had a look at the the following:

Please read and drill down from forum post [The route you choose|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=1122] which provides some information on this.
To my knowledge there is no book directly available for this exam, original Oracle Online documentation or a book such as Oracle Database 11g SQL should be consulted.

  • Java Programming Book Recommendation

I'm looking for a good java programming book that covers more than the basics. In my CS110 class we went through the book:
Java Programming - From Problem Analysis to Programming Design
    by: D.S. Malik
I'm looking to expand upon this and was hoping someone was able to point me in the right direction of reading material.
    Thanks!

    Sun's basic Java tutorial
Sun's New To Java Center. Includes an overview of what Java is, instructions for setting up Java, an intro to programming (that includes links to the above tutorial or to parts of it), quizzes, a list of resources, and info on certification and courses.
http://javaalmanac.com . A couple dozen code examples that supplement The Java Developers Almanac.
jGuru. A general Java resource site. Includes FAQs, forums, courses, more.
JavaRanch. To quote the tagline on their homepage: "a friendly place for Java greenhorns." FAQs, forums (moderated, I believe), sample code, all kinds of goodies for newbies. From what I've heard, they live up to the "friendly" claim.
Bruce Eckel's Thinking in Java (Available online.)
    Joshua Bloch's Effective Java
Bert Bates and Kathy Sierra's Head First Java.
James Gosling's The Java Programming Language. Gosling is
the creator of Java. It doesn't get much more authoritative than this.

  • Performance tuning 1Z0-054 Study material

I was trying to find LEGITIMATE study material out there for the perf tuning certification but all I can see is that all too familiar sea of braindump copycat sites.
I want a legitimate source like Transcenders but unfortunately they don't have 1Z0-054 study guides. The self study oracle sells is a bit of a rip off, no offense. I am just a regular joe trying to get a certification and im not about to shell out $1600 for a crappy guide that wont prepare me ( like the oracle ones). The transcenders are reasonably priced but as I said before they dont have one for this test.

Cheers! With 1z0-054 you are into a heavyweight SQL Expert Exam.
... That really means your study plan needs to revolve arround seeing what the topic is, looking up the the relevant oracle online documentation, making nides, trying it out, then searching other sources such as forums and OTN articles, Oracle Magazine various perfromance tuning books.
Thats a whole wealth of study material! But it does take a lot of time and effort to sor through, and a directed study guide obviously would speed the process. But it is perfectly possille to slog it through those resources I've mentioned.
....... At the end of all that practice tests are useful to see where one it at .... but it is possible to go the longer way round!

  • Study Material on SAP CRM fundamental

    Dear Friends,
I am Prasad,  very new to  SAP-CRM,  I would appreciate
if there  is any study material on SAP-CRM.
my background is  :  I have SAP-SD experience and 4 full life cycle implementation. and certified.
Thanks for your help and support
    Prasad

    Hi Prasad
CRM 2.0 IDES version is outdated i rather suggest you to go through with the latest CRM 4.0 it has got more functionalities than CRM 2.0 obviously also decide in which area you need to specialise so got many options like Telesales,Internet sales,Service etc..Also Mr.Michael Van Greet has sent you a link i checked that as well. Its costing you $60 but it seems worth buying it.Because its very difficult to find any books regarding CRM 4.0.If possible try to get it from your colleagues TCRM10-Fundamentals and Base Customising,Middleware and IPC.CR300-Sales and CR-800 Internet Sales.I hope this helps!!
    Cheers

  • Sap CRM study material needed

    Hi Everyone,
I'm an abaper and now I would really like to learn Sap CRM.
can anyone tell me where can I find good study material for beginners like me.  I need some tutorials that explains everything from scratch.
    thanks in advance.
    Pooja.

    Pooja,
Your best bets are the following:
Purchase the OKP materials for SAP CRM
    http://service.sap.com/okp
Buy the SAP Press books on SAP CRM
    http://www.sap-press.de (international) http://www.sap-press.com (united states)
Get a subscription to the CRM Expert Online
    http://www.crmexpertonline.com
Read the entire CRM wiki for more ideas:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/wiki?path=/display/crm/home
I'm going to lock this thread as it will normally turn into a thread of e-mail distribution of documents after several posts.  However the areas I gave you should provide enough starting points for CRM knowledge.
    Thank you,

  • Study material needed for 1Z0-141

I want to take the exam 1Z0-141 (Build internet applications), but I cannot find adequate study material (preferably a book). I have searched everywhere! The only thing that I could find, is the self-study CD from Oracle, but this costs 1000$!
Is there anyone who knows of a good book, or who can send me some good material?
    Thank you in advance!

Thank you in advance! Not because of anything you've said ... but because most of the material on the internet is unauthorised training material ... I'll point you as this [http://blogs.oracle.com/certification/2009/05/the_route_you_choose.html]
I believe study for forms may be covered by the WDP Program ..... [http://workforce.oracle.com] ... but teaching is max 6 hours/week and the quality may not be good.
The following book is for 1z0-131/1z0-132 but is still probablly useful. However it is difficult and expensive to get hold of and any second hand editions may be without the cdrom:
Oracle Certified Professional: Building Internet Applications I & II Exam Guide: ISBN: 9780072193336
Other than that you need to look at the online Oracle Manuals .... probably not a bad from for an OCP. Otherwise the majority of Oracle*Forms books are typically not much good with possibly one or two exceptions.
