Suggested New Feature to Photoshop Clipping Path Lines

I've been using Photoshop for 20 years, and now that I'm 51 yrs old I have an increasingly hard time seeing the thin clipping path line if it is on a dark texture.  Yes, I have had my eyes checked very recently, and yes, I do need eyeglasses when working on the computer now.  I would like to suggest that Adobe consider adding a feature that allows a user to choose line weight and color.  It would really be helpful.  Age has certainly taken it's toll on my eyes (and my hair)!  Does anyone else have my same issue?

Clipping Path or are you referring to the Pen Option ruber Band?

    Although I've downloaded the CC PS 2014 updates the new features, e.g., blur path and select focus, are not showing up in my PS drop down menus - anybody know why and what I need to do?

    Are you sure you understand the Cloud License concept?
    You are entitled to keep Photoshop CC and install Photoshop CC 2014, so CC 2014 is not connected with additional costs and the time it takes to install the new version of Photoshop should not be that much of a imposition, should it?

  • [CS2] [JS]  Apply photoshop clipping path

    Hi,
    Does anyone know how to apply the photoshop clipping path to all images in a document, If the image contains one ?
    I can't find a clipping path property of the graphic object in the reference manual...
    The loop structure itself is not a problem...
    for (var j = app.activeDocument.allGraphics.length - 1; j >= 0; j--) {
    Thanx
    Tim

    Hi Peter,
    I've just tried using...
    for (var j = app.activeDocument.allGraphics.length - 1; j >= 0; j--) {
    try
    var theEPSItem = app.activeDocument.allGraphics[j];
    var theClippingPath = theEPSItem.clippingPath;
    if ( ( theClippingPath.clippingType != ClippingPathType.photoshopPath ) &&
    ( theClippingPath.photoshopPathNames.length > 0 ) )
    theClippingPath.clippingType = ClippingPathType.photoshopPath;
    catch ( e )
    ... something strang happens when running the script. The clipping path settings of the EPS-files are changed and are correct. However, the result is not yet visible. So I still have to open the clipping path settings menu and click on the ok button... Then the result is displayed.
    Any idea's ?
    Tim

  • Is there anyway to activate photoshop clipping paths automatically in CS4/5?

    Hello,
    Can a preference be set in Indesign to automatically apply the photoshop clipping path to Tiff images?
    Cheers Joe.

    You don't need to specify a flatness for indesign to pick up on that path, just need to set that it is the preferred path for an application to use. Paths aren't exclusively used for the purpose of knocking out a background or portion of a photo. You could google up device path flatness and you'll find a spiel something to the effect of set it quite a few pixels for very high res scans, fewer for low res. I believe it is just the tolerance for the application to use in interpreting which pixels to use. After all, a path is a vector outline and the application needs to determine how to cut the photo, which pixels to keep and which to exclude.
    Short adobe word on it.

  • New features in Photoshop Elements 12 ?.

    Photoshop Elements has come a long way since it replaced Photoshop 5 LE back in 2001.  It however still lacks many of the more professional features of Photoshop Creative Cloud such as 16 Bit Editing, CMYK color mode and soft-proofing.  It also has a number of watered down or simplified features like the slider depended Adjust Color Curves and Photomerge Exposure rather than HDR editing.  With Photoshop Elements 12 expected to be released in September what new features or functionally would you most like to be added to the new version ?.

    A few thoughts related to the Organizer portion:
    Comments for tags.  The ‘keyword tags’ in all the versions I’ve used allows you to enter comments about the tag.  However, version 11 introduced ‘people tags’ – but that did not include the ability to enter comments about the ‘people tags.’  For myself, I found the comment field to be very valuable.  I used them regularly to add notes about who barely-recognizable distant-relatives were, and how they were related to me, etc.  I would love to see a comment field added to the ‘people tags.’
    Default location for PSE Catalog.  By default, Elements places the catalog in the \ProgramData\ folder (on Windows machines).  The problem is that few users would think to backup this folder as part of routine backup procedures, unless they were backing up the full hard disk.  And, most of the consumer backup utilities (and services, e.g. Carbonite) generally have defaults to only backup the \users\{username}\ folder structure.  As a result, for users who are diligent about doing regular backups, there is a pretty good chance that they are not backing up this very critical file.  Compounding this is the fact that the process to move the catalog to another folder is far from intuitive.  It is virtually impossible to figure out from the user-interface itself.  As I’ve wanted to move the catalog location with each new version of the release, I’ve had to spend considerable time searching the web and Adobe knowledgebase to find out how to do it.  It would be great if 1) the default location was in the \users\{username}\ folder structure, and/or 2) the user could change the location during the installation process, and/or 3) the process for changing the location after installation was simpler and more intuitive
    Comments/Captions.  In Windows, there are several pieces of information associated with each picture file (e.g. date taken, camera type, dimensions, etc.).  The comments field is one that I use to enter information about the image (names, locations, events, etc.).  I’ve been doing since before my use of PSE.  It would be great if PSE could grab this information when doing a media import and store it as the PSE caption information.
    Folder hierarchy view.  In version 11, the folder-tree pane on the left side of the Organizer only shows folders that have been imported into PSE.  In previous versions, the folder-tree showed 'all' folders - and those that had not been imported to PSE were greyed out.  I found the view in pervious versions to be very helpful, as it served to let me know which directories I had not yet imported.  With the interface in version 11, I either 1) have to make more of a manual effort (comparing my actual folder-tree with that I see in PSE), or 2) rely on memory to realize that PSE is not showing me pictures that I have.
    I'm looking forward to the new version.

  • Photoshop Clipping Paths to Illustrator

    When I make a clipping path in photoshop and save it as a .psd and then place it in Illustrator the bounding box of the path is the whole image and not just the bounding box of the path. How can I make it just the bounding box of the path? Export it a different way or what? Another computer does what I want to happen, but this one will not.

    Only way is to crop your image in Phoshhsop
    CMD click on path name
    Image >> Crop
    Save
    Unfortunately the bounding box is defined in Photoshop and Illustrator >> link palette >> placement options will NOT help you. So don't waste your time there with this old, of little use placement options.

  • Photoshop clipping path?

    Can anyone tell me how to drop a background out of a photo & make it transparent?

    A Clipping Path is just one option.
    Another would be to use a psd with transparency (for example by making the background layer a regular one by double-clicking it and using the Selection and Paint Tools to create and edit a Layer Mask for that).

  • Photoshop Clipping Path Glitch

    I just got a new computer and installed CS5 on it and I'm noticing whenever I use the pen tool my clipping path is invisible.. The pen tool is still working, if I can still make a selection from said invisible clipping path, but its proving to be really annoying, as I have some pretty intense selections to make at work.. Does anyone know of a fix for this problem? Is is a common one?
    Side Notes:
    The monitor is the same as the one I was using before I got this new computer, the problem only started with the new computer.
    The resize box (free transform tool) also is invisible.

  • Where can we suggest new features for Yahoo Messenger and other RIM IM clients?

    I just downloaded the new version of Yahoo Messenger and I like the user interface. But every time a new version comes out, this application creates a less-complete history of contact behavior. Several versions ago, the contact's status showed up in the open conversation, along with the time stamp of when the status changed. This included Idle and Custom Status changes. That disappeared. In the last version, you could see the time the contact signed in or out last, and sometimes both. Now they're gone as soon as you close the conversation.
    The whole idea of having Yahoo up on the BlackBerry all the time is that you don't have to be staring at the screen all the time, that you should be able to take it out of your pocket and check out those events that occurred that didn't set off alarms. I'd like the whole contact history to be right there, for as long as I want to keep it active. How can I make this suggestion to RIM for the next version of Yahoo Messenger? Thanks.

  • Who/Where can i suggest new features/ changes

    Hi Adobe Devs.
    Are there someone i can message/mail new ideas, cause it sems
    like this forum does not seem to be quite the right place.
    I've been working with flash for some years (since flash4)
    and i love the program. Honestly i think have some good ideas of
    simple stuff that could be added to make the program easier to use,
    both for designers and programmers.
    I initially tried with this post:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=15&catid=194&threadid =1258827&enterthread=y
    but noone has answered it...

    there's a feature request list on adobe's site:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
    But you may have to wait at least another year unless your
    wishes coincide with the features about
    to be released in the CS3 version (days/weeks away).

  • Photoshop CS3's new features supported by Aperture?

    hi:
    i'm intrigued by some of the new features in Photoshop CS3 such as the non-destructive filters. i'm wondering how Aperture treats these new types of layers or filters when using CS3 as an external editor. i don't have CS2, so i don't think i was eligible for the beta download (and didn't have much time to play with it anyway).
    just wondering what others have thought that might have played with these features in the beta?
    thanks,
    scott
    PowerMac G5 2.5GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   MacBook Pro 2.0GHz

    I took a DNG file from my M8 and opened it as a 'smart object' in PS-CS3. I then applied several adjustment layers and smart filters before saving the file out as as a PSD file.
    Aperture then imported the PSD file with no trouble and allowed me to make adjustments using Aperture's adjustment panes. Finally I exported the image as a JPEG and opened that JPEG in my browser and Preview application. No problems.
    The only think that Aperture wouldn't do was import the Leica M8 file directly. This would be a good time for someone to repeat the tired line that Aperture won't open DNG files because they can't support a proprietary file standard that is controlled by on outside company. DNG = PDF = PSD in this regard. Only one of these isn't supported fully as far as I can tell.
