I waste a lot of time entering information because you can't go to a specific day and enter information, nor can you navigate between months and add information on a specific date by clicking on the date. You can't easily scroll month-to-month and once you do by scrolling through nine months to get to where you want to be, you cannot enter information by clicking on a specific day in the month and entering information. I just called Apple and they verified that this is the way it works. You cannot go to a date and enter information, you keep getting thrown back to today and then you have to go into the calendar and change it manually on the screen. It is just not efficient.

That's definitely strange, kzmidge. I want a working phone in your hands though. I noticed you mentioned you received the suggestion to complete a reset. Did you already do that? Is it working again? Are you receiving an error message?
If you hesitated a little longer to complete the reset, you can try to place your phone into Safe Mode http://vz.to/rxg0ii and see if you can access mobile sites from your browser. This mode will stop 3rd party applications from running, so you won't be able to use the apps you mentioned but we may be able to narrow down the trouble in Safe Mode. If the mobile sites work, that means the trouble may be in a recently downloaded application and you may be able to avoid the reset my uninstalling some of your more recently installed applications. If it's still giving you trouble, the reset http://vz.to/18wzOCi is the next best step.

Personally, I prefer uncompressed TIFF or PNG. But many times it won't matter ... you'll be dropping the images into an SD Sequence, so they will lose resolution on output.

The one i currently have, when I plug in just the mouse, it's fine, but as soon as i put the external hard drive into the hub port, the mouse no longer works and i have to reinstall the drivers for the mouse.

Hubs and computers vary in their power needs, but it seems that your setup is lacking in the power department. This isn't a big deal with desktop computers, but since you use a MBP, you're going to do best with a powered USB hub.
If you're looking for a USB hub with power supply, Belkin is generally reliable (and above average in price). But the D-Link is compact, reliable, and has a good price. Aim for a USB 3.0 hub if possible, though 2.0 will work fine with just about anything. Insist on a refund if the hub doesn't work in your system. Make sure it's compact, since you'll be carrrying it around.

Netflix does in fact have the old version of their app available.
In iTunes on your computer, download the App you want a compatible version for using the same Apple Id that the iPad has for the App Store. 10.6 server does not have profile manager, profile manager is only available in 10/7 and 10.8 server

I'm trying to put a swf file on a dvd that will autostart using OS X and Director MX. I imported one swf file that has nested movie clips.
Some of them play and some don't.
Any suggestions?

The swf file runs fine on a computer. But now they want me to export it as a .mov and put it on a dvd that customers without computers can put in a tv/dvd player. They want it to auto start. When I export it as .mov, QuickTime only plays the first 20 seconds and not all of the nested movie clips play. They don't want it to play in a QuickTime player. Do I need to upgrade to QuickTime Pro? Any suggestions?Thanks

Okay I made pictures of all my settings.
Furthermore I thought my CPU could be the problem because it uses Hyperthreading Technology. I disabled Hyperthreading and After Effects told me that I only have four cores. This is absolutely correct. Nevertheless the amount of used Cores is still zero. I can not activate multiprocessing.
By the way I was really satisfied with the speed of AE without multiprocessing. I only had one problem. Sometimes I got the message:
"AE needs more than 2 frames to playback" I thought I can solve this problem by enabling multiprocessing.
I also tried purge--> all , which did not help
I also changed the cache folder of AE to an external device which did not help either.
I ALSO deinstalled my Comodo Internet Security because I read that some people could solve this problem with this
My question is: It is generally possible for me to activate multiprocessing with only 8 gb RAM?

Looking for a high-contrast extension for Safari for Windows

First of all,what do we call them - extensions or plugins?
Is there an extension for Safari for Windows for high-contrast? I can't find one anywhere. Windows 7 is set to a HC theme. IE just follows suit. Chrome detected this, ad offered to install a theme.
Don't know why, but I still prefer Safari on my Win7 system. But really need HC. One that just inverts the colors would work, but one with several other options like the Chrome extension would be better.

I have a CS5 illustrator file.
I want to create an Oval that will have a unique color that would be treated as an Alpha channel.
No other part of the drawing will have this color.
Can I "tell" illustrator that the oval is "alpha" -- and basically have adobe premiere cs5 see the oval as transparent.

Not necessary to make a color specific any clipping mask will work that way and so will any file from AI as long as it has pdf compatibility enabled.
But for what you want to do you can apply the clipping mask the oval shape to the layer level.
Draw the oval shape with out any other objects drawn on the specific layer you want to use as a mask, then at the bottom of the layers panel the first icon on the left side will make that a clipping mask for that layer anything drawn after will me masked but will not mask art from other layers.
Very handy and you can have more than one by placing them on different layers and have them work this way for those layers as well.
You can clipping masks applied to groups and objects as well and when th file is brought into PPro it will treat it as if it were an alpha channel mask.

As far as PPro is concerned Illustrator has no background which is true.
