Suggestion_New Feature of iPad

Hi,
As one of Apple holic, I'd like to suggest a new idea for iPad.
Maybe someone could imagine once but it'll be great and useful if iPad has got a new feature, external monitor. Apparently, it doesn't look very difficult to add it... or not. Just plug in USB cable and simply execute external monitor mode via pushing a button on iTunes.. something like this way.
I think it'll be good combination with MACBOOK or MACBOOK AIR.
Actually, I've got no iPad yet because of it's not been released in S.Korea and I'm surely dying to wait for it.

Feature request: iPad photo filename retention

Hello all,
I'm looking to request a feature for iPad photos, but don't know where to post them.
What I'd like is for the iPad2 to be able to retain the original filename assigned to the
photo by my camera. This would be extremely handy as a photographer, when showing
photos to clients. They pick the images they want based on filenames.
Right now any app I've tried reassigns a new file name to each photo, which becomes
a huge PITA when trying to find them on my iMac afterwards.

There's is a 3rd-party app called Photo Shack Pro that will show and allow you to modify filenames. It sorts by filename too if you want. The problem is that iTunes doesn't actually transfer the filename as it appears on your computer when you sync to your iPad. Instead, the iPad iOS assigns its own surrogate filename to the photo, which has no correlation to the host filename.
To get around this issue, you need to use a photo metadata utility like EXIFTool to insert your photos' filenames into your photos' metadata. Then Photo Shack Pro can be told to use this as the photos' filenames.
Works pretty good. I am able to transfer all of my Photos Library photos and their albums into Photo Shack Pro, along with their original filenames. Organize, title, comment, star rate, etc. them how I want. Then transfer them back to my PC using iTunes File Sharing. All my changes are permanently stored in the photos' metadata.

Best security features for iPad mini at high risk for theft?

I'm giving my disabled sister (mental disability) a new iPad mini for Christmas. I bought her the $300 WiFi-only model. She lives in a group home 800 miles away. She doesn't own a computer or have easy access to a computer (she uses the computer at her local public library). She usually goes to restaurants and malls to get a free WiFi signal. She's also an easy target for thieves because her disability is clearly visible. Regardless, I want to giver her this device. She's fairly responsible - she never lost the iPod Touch I gave her years ago.
How should I set up her new iPad mini, before mailing it to her, to give her the best possible protection against loss/theft? I am aware of iCloud and FindMyiPhone, which I use often. Should I add my sister's new iPad mini to my existing iCloud account, even though we live far apart? She could then call me whenever she loses it, and I can find it for her by using the FindMyiPhone app. However, I'm worried about sharing an iCloud account with her -- that she may possibly download music/purchases to her iPad mini by accident, that will be charged to my iTunes account.
Are there other apps that I can install on her iPad mini, or unknown features that I can turn on, that will help me or her find her lost/stolen device? Remember, she will most likely need my assistance, from 800 miles away, to recover it.
I will also consider buying insurance for her if prices are reasonable and coverage includes loss/theft.

If you use your iCloud account, then she will also share your email, contacts and so forth. So that both of you can have privacy, why not make her a new AppleID, create a new iCloud account for her, but you keep the password so you can login to her iCloud to track her device or remote wipe it and so forth, if ever needed.
She could then use that same AppleID for her own iTunes or App store purchases, and you could even use the allowance feature to control the spending on it, so she cannot get into trouble by mistakingly over-spending (of course she will need the password for that, but she is not likely to change it I imagine, so you would still be able to use it as well). If you feel it necessary, you can also enable restrictions with a passcode only you know, and disable in-app purchases or set up other restrictions like that if you worry she may unknowingly work up a tab in purchases without realizing they were for fee items.
Another thing you may want to set up is two-step verification of her AppleID, with your own iPhone or iPad as (at least one of) the trusted devices. The advantage is two-step removes the security question feature for an AppleID, and gives you a verification code that will ensure you can always recover her AppleID no matter what.
You should also put a passcode on it, and set the passcode lock to come on immediately (that is, it becomes effective the moment the screen sleeps or is put to sleep manually with no time out or delay). Your choice whether to also set the device to auto-wipe content after several failed passcode attempts.
Other than that, I think that is about as secure as can be for any iOS device. If she does not mind, she could even use a complex passcode instead of the simple 4-digit one - maybe something derived from a phrase she can easily remember ("Thanks for the iPad!" = T4tiP! or something like that).
Just a P.S. while Apple's own AppleCare+ does cover accidental damage, beware that it does not cover loss or theft. So if you do want insurance, you will need to buy it from a 3rd party vendor.

Acrobat pro features for Ipad?

Is there an Ipad app with the same features as Acrobat pro? I want to be able to create a pdf document out of several photos, and to crop each page (photo).

In the latest version of Adobe Reader for iOS, if you subscribe to the PDF Pack service, you can convert images to PDF directly within the app. But, you won't be able to crop them...

Why can't I use the continuity feature on ipad 2?

I personally think continuity feature should be available to each and everyone of apple products that are iOS 8.1 compatible.

Tell Apple. However given that there were parts of iOS7 that the iPad 2 couldn't get, I don't find it surprising that it doesn't get all of iOS8.

Dictation Feature On iPad 3

Can I dictate on the iPad 3 using another language? If I am able to, where do I change the setting to be able to do so OR is there an app that will let me accomplish this? Thank you. ~Pelusita

Hi again, Demo! Gosh, I was hoping the list included Spanish. Do you know if there is a plan in the making for Spanish? It kinda surprises me, since Spanish is the most prolific language, at least here in the US.

Missing "Guided Access" Feature on ipad 1

Has anyone had this problem? We have all 4 iPad versions but our original iPad 1 (1st gen) seems to all of a sudden be missing the Learning feature, "Guided Access" (in the General Settings under Accessibility). We use this learning feature for our 3 year old and 5 year old with Down syndrome who both love their iPads.
Can anyone tell me if there is a solution or quick fix for this missing feature? Or do I need to do a hard reset? The version that it's running says up to date, (Version 5.1.1), and if I'm correct, I don't belive there are any other updates for this original iPad.

Thanks so much - But, I know that I've used it before on my daughter's iPad (1st Gen), and had always used it because she was much too young at age 2 last year to understand not to press certain parts on the screen or the home button. Now that she's 3, she's very well adjusted to what she can't or shouldn't press while using her iPad, however sometimes little fingers still slip up. So, how did I use it before if it was only a iOS 6 feature? I have all the versions of iPads, so I know there are many things the old 1st Gen can't do or handle due to it's limited OS. But, honestly - I know we used Guided Access!

Cannot log onto gmail using the mail feature for ipad mini, ipad or iphone.

This started happening yesterday. It affected my Iphone ipad mini and Ipad at the same time. I thought someone hacked my account so I changed my passwords, confirmed my setting but still Mail says the settings are wrong. Is anyone else experienceing this problem?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Where can I find the archive feature on iPad, it's not with my email and I want to try to sinc my contacts from Verizon.

I'm new to to iPad,and trying to get my Verizon mailbox folders into mail, it says once I turn on archive &log into my vz mail it will sinc the folders into mail but I can't find the archive option to turn it on?...help!

What did you rent the film on, your iPad or your Mac ? If you rented it on your iPad then it should have downloaded into the Videos app on it (you should get a rentals tab in the app). If you rented it on your Mac then it should be in the Movies part of your Mac's iTunes library, you will have to connect your iPad to your Mac's iTunes and move it from your Mac to your iPad (I think that it should show on the iPad's Movies tab for moving)

In the old system it was fairly easy to find where I could make feature suggestions. In the new Communities setup I can't find this place at all. Any pointers?

Why can't i get the air print feature of ipad to print labels with consistent alignment

we are a medical office and uses iPad to chart as part of electronic medical record. We use the airprint to print our biopsy labels but are having problems to have the lebels to print within alignment consistently. There does not seem to be a patter why sometime it is aligned and why sometimes it is not. The EMR vendor said it is not a software issue. Not been able to get help with Apple tech support.

It seems to me it would be an issue with the print drivers of the printer you are using, related to your specific printer and the way it interprets print jobs coming from Air Print. What printer are you using and is it Air Print enabled, or are you using some other type of solution? Can you print the labels, properly aligned, from some other non-iOS platform?

Dictation Feature when iPad is connected to a keyboard?

I've got the Apple keyboard/docking station for my iPad3. Is there a function to be able to dictate when its still connected to the keyboard?

This issue manifests as The volume control shows sound effects on screen or phantom docking no volume slide control.
For the beginners, the issue is often the side switch is set to mute on off and not screen rotation lock. The switch is off. (see settings)
Other issues around software and airport use can be resolved by hard reset, or reset options inside the settings. I use AIRPORT all the time.
You may have even tried the re-installing the firmware/ios
So when all has failed to work, the you may have dock connector PIN 21 problem.
I had an issue that started with the ipad whe it was on USB cable to PC.
No drop, no sudden cable movements. Just gone....
No volume slider. IPAD behaves as if it was docked when not.
Slight movement when usb cable is in occasionally brings the volume control back but only for a few seconds then it disappears.
Mine is going back for repair/replacement.
