Suggestion on Installation of ECC 6.0 IDES Version

Hi,
I am installing ECC 6.0 IDES in windows server 2003 with MSSQL Server 2005 as database. What should be the size I should allocate for the installation directory? Because when I have tried the same previously the files grow more than 10GB and since I don’t have enough space the installation fails. Suggest me on this and also let me know is there any other factors to be considered before installation. I have also planned to install solution manager in same server. which java version shall i use?
Hard disk: 400GB and memory 3GB
Kindly suggest in this regards.

    Dear,
    Ravi,
    Installation Master in is as master DVD with which your SAP installation starts,and this DVD is available in service market place.
    for this one should go to the SMP with ur OSSID (online support id)
    there if you go to downloads there one can download and get the information about the and sap DVD's available according to your company SAP components.
    Any queries please get back...

  • ECC 6.0 IDES configuration of source system in BI 7.0

    Recently I have installed the ECC 6.0 IDES version on my desktop it has both mySAP and BI on the same system. I tried to create new source system under SAP folder using RSA1 got the following message.
    "No entry for BW_USER in table RSADMIN available"
    ANY SUGGESTIONS/IDEAS ARE WELCOME
    Thanks
    Kannan

    Hi Kannan,
    To connect both systems you need a background user (like ALEREMOTE) in both systems.
    In the source system creation, if you haven't created the RFC connection between BW and ECC you shouldn't select one (chek if DM0 is your ECC system), you should use the three fields below (app server, system ID and system number). Then enter both users and passwords (source system and local system).
    In some moment you'll be prompted to log on to ECC, there you should use a DIALOG user, for example, your user. This user should have administrator rights (if you have SAP_ALL it's ok). ECC system should be open for modifications to be able to create the system.
    If you still have problems with the users, just include SAP_ALL to both background users and should work.
    Hope this clarifies.

    Diego

  • ECC 6.0 IDES Installation Error

    Hi,
    I am Installing ECC 6.0 with MSSQL Server 2005 as backend in windows 2003 server. The JDK Version which i am using is jdk1.4.2_09. Already I have installed solution manager 4.0 in the same server with both ABAP and JAVA Stack. During installation of ECC 6.0 at import ABAP stage (job 1 of 19) i encounter the following error.
    <b><u>ERROR 2007-04-18 19:01:00</u></b>
    CJS-30022  Program 'Migration Monitor' exits with error code 103. For details see log file(s) import_monitor.java.log, import_monitor.log.
    I have already searched through sdn for this error in which most of them suggest  to use jre version jre1.4.2_08. Since already I have installed solmon in same server I afraid this could cause inconsistencies for solmon. I have attached the complete log file of this error.
    Please through some light on it.

    Hi,
    I have answered your questions. Kindly help to solve this issue.
    Q1: Is SOLMAN installed as UNICODE system (or) Not ??
    A1: No
    Q2:Is the New Installation Using another Database Installation (or) MCOD?
    A2:Using another Database Instance.
    Q3:if it is MCOD - you have to select same code type which you selected for SOLMON.
    A3:If i am correct its not an MCOD. I have installed solmon with a different DBSID and ECC6.0 with different DBSID.
    Q4:if it is not MCOD - try to recopy the Export CD's onto the HARD DISK??
    A4:The export DVD's wer downloaded from market place recently.
    Hope this answers help you to come out with some suggestions.
    regards,
    Anandha Krishnan.R

  • SAP Best Practices on ECC 6.0 IDES

    Hi,
    We are trying to implement SAP Best Practices on ECC 6.0 IDES Server.
    1) IDES Server has patch level greater then the one mentioned in the implementation guide. Is it ok to continue with SAP Best Practices installation.
    2) Uploading Notes through t-code SNOTE gives an error stating" Data file of SAP Note is incomplete". Please suggest how to proceed with applying notes.
    We are using tcode SNOTE --> Goto --> Upload SAP Note.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Satish

    Hi
    check if the SAP note has some pre-requisites?
    Ensure that you follow the procedure regarding the note upload:
    Do not copy & paste, ALWAYS quote the source.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7c/04f33925f12d20e10000000a114084/content.htm
    Read the "Rules of Engagement"
    SAP download manager is required for it.
    SAP Best Practices package specifies prerequisites to install the SAP application.

  • Java add on installation in ECC 6

    Hi all,
    We are having ECC 6 already in place and our client requirement is to install java add on the same in ECC instance. In the installation master I have selected the Netweaver system , followed by sap system and then java add in for abap system.
    This is the step which i am following for java add in installation. I am not sure whether i am in the right process. Could you please suggest the porcess?
    Regards
    Vijay

    Thanks Rohit,
    For the immedite response.
    In the phase of Java system RFC connection. I have provided the SAP SYSTEM LOG in details.
    That is SAP client as : 300
    DDIC password   : password
    The problem is not accepting by ddic passowrd and throwing an error by saying the password which you have provided is wrong. But i can able to log in sap level by using the same password in the same client.
    Why is not accepting the password? Eventhough the password is right and also i can able to login in sap level.
    I am sure about i didnt do silly mistakes like caps lock or mistyoing or key board issues. And also I have tried the standard passwords like 19920706,minisap and the master passwords.
    After the third attempt in installation,m the user is get locked. I will unlock and will try again. Even I tried to change the password in sap level and its not working in the installation.
    Anyone have any idea on this??
    Kindly suggest
    Thanks and Regards

  • Web Dynpro applications not working on ECC 6.0 IDES

    Hi,
    I'm new to Web Dynpro and developed a custom Web Dynpro (including the application) on a ECC 6.0 IDES system. It's simple with a couple of input fields. When I test it (either via SAP GUI 7.1 or 7.2, or Web GUI), it appears on the browser ok but the screen is frozen. I can't enter anything into the fields, etc. I also tested SAP Web Dynpro applications and they act the same way, frozen screen. There aren't any errors displayed or any runtime errors in ST22. Please advise. I searched this forum but didn't see any issue similar to mine. The IDES vendor suggested I post the issue on SDN.

    I guess it has do to with some sort of browser's font size or view settings.
    press ctrl +0  make the zoom 100% and font size medium and try again.

  • ECC 6.0 IDES Dump

    Hi All,
    I am facing some problem in my ECC 6.0 IDES..
    I Am getting frequent Dumps when I check ST22..
    It says "DDIC_TYPE_INCONSISTENCY"...
    The error is as below....
    Short text
        Inkonsistenz im Dictionary für die Struktur "MCVBAPB".
    What happened?
        The current ABAP/4 program had to be terminated because the
        ABAP/4 processor detected an internal system error.
    What can you do?
        Please make a note of the actions and input which caused the error.
        To resolve the problem, contact your
        SAP system administrator.
        Select the "Print" function to obtain a hardcopy of the
        current termination message.
    Error analysis
        There is an internal system error.
        eliminated with ABAP/4.
    How to correct the error
        It is probably not possible to eliminate the system error
        with ABAP/4 alone.
        You may able to find an interim solution to the problem
        in the SAP note system. If you have access to the note system yourself,
        please use the following search criteria:
        "SAPLMCEX" "DDIC_TYPE_INCONSISTENCY"

    tatsächliche Gesamtanzahl aller Komponenten rekursiv berechnet, kommt

  • Installation of ECC 6.0 on Windows Vista

    HI,
    I am not able to install ECC 6.0 on windows vista OS even I tried to install windows server 2003 but it shown incomitablity error becuse of newer version of OS(windows Vista).Could you let me know how can i remove the vista and get win server 2003 installed at my system.If I run the set up file of windows server 2003 it gives error "setup cannot run in program compatibility mode".Please let me know what else i can do.
    Thanks & Kind Regards
    Sanjay Rai

    Hi Sanjay,
    Few things you have to check before installation of ECC 6.0 on any OS :-
    1. From where have you got the dump for ECC 6.0? Have you downloaded it from Service Marketplace. If Yes then you have to check whether your OS is also of the same configuration as the dump you are using like if you are using 32-bit then your OS also needs to be 32-bit only. As far as ECC 6.0 SR3 is concerned it can be installed on 64-bit machine only. For 32-bit machine you have to go for SR2.
    2. Also the supported JDK for the ERP 6.0 is JDK 1.4.2_17 as per SAP Note 716604. Please uninstall the current JDK and install the required one. The 64 bit JDK as per the SAP Note 941595 is available on the new IDES server.
    3.Although there is cheat code to install the SAP ERP6.0 in 32 bit mode as well. But in that case NO Java system will be installed. I will advise for 64 bit method with Java system. Only use 32 bit mode if 64 bit is not possible. Follow SAP Note 1244548.
    4. The DB Size system will need around 190 -200 GB to install.

  • SAP ECC 6.0 IDES KERNEL Update

    Dear experts,
    i have installed a SAP ECC 6.0 IDES on a Windows Server 2003 Enterprise 64 bits + MS SQL from the MarketPlace:
    -> http://service.sap.com/swdc
    -> Download
    -> Installations and Upgrades
    -> My Company's Application Components
    -> SAP ERP
    -> SAP ERP 6.0
    -> IDES-Version
    -> Windows Server
    -> Microsoft SQL-Server
    and in order to update my solution into EHP3, i need to update the Kernel witch is in 7.00 version.
    How and Where could i get the kernel update file?
    Is there any difference between SAP Netweaver and SAP ERP Installation?
    Thank you very much for your great help.
    Best regards,
    Pascal.
    PS: i already update the SPAM/SAINT version (number 33) and have a well configured MOPZ for confirmed files.

    Hello Pascal,
    The kernel is at a differnt location. Please go to:
    1. http://service.sap.com/swdc
    2. Download
    3. Support Packages and Patches
    4. Entry by Application Group
    5. Additional Components
    6. SAP Kernel
    Select the corresponding platform.
    You should download 2 kernel files: SAPEXE and SAPEXEDB. One is database independent, one is DB dependent. Unpack them to the kernel directory and the kernel then is upgraded.
    Best Regards,
    Joseph

  • SAP ECC 6.0 IDES connectivity with internal BI server

    Hell All,
    We have a connectivity issue for SAP BI with ECC. we have a sap ECC6.0 EHP3 instance running in the customer landscape used for training requirement. In the ECC 6.0 we do also have SAP BI server in the same instance. Now customer want to use the same BI server which is in the same SAP ECC 6.0 IDES without installing an additional instance just for training purpose. As a part of the acitivty we do need to know whether we can configure the BI to R/3 data extraction for this instance. ECC have 800 client and BI also works in the same 800 client. Can we configure the SAP ECC to BI source system configuration and do the R/3 to BW data extraction scenarios. also want to know whether we can do the Process chains and other stuff for training requirements.
