Suggestion to RIM on BB10 Menu

1. There should be options to choose the number of columns/rows you want to see which would help those who need to see bigger/smaller icons.
2. Vertical scrolling should be made possible too as another option.
3. List view should be introduced for both 'running apps' and 'menu items'.
I know these might sound weird but they'll be handy in one way or another.

WhatsApp for BlackBerry is not developed by BlackBerry, but rather by the developer of WhatsApp. RIM has no control over how the developer releases upgrades.
For Twitter and AppWorld, yes those are RIM developed apps.
What is not working for those upgrades for you? If you're specific, perhaps we can help.
As for your suggestion to RIM, it's good, however anyone of any consequence will likely never see it here, since this is a user to user community forum. For me, the recent AppWorld and Twitter upgrades have been improvements.

  • A Suggestion for a Better OnDemand Menu

After a week of using the OnDemand I am for one, thrilled with it. However there is something that I would like to see on the menus...
When you stop watching a programme (pressing Stop then selecting Done), it would be so much better if the previous menu i.e. programme list, came back on, rather than going right back to the start! This is so frustrating to have to keep going through all the menus again just to play the next episode of a series.
There are a couple more little 'niggles' which I will just put down to me being a perfectionist. But this one above really needs to be sorted.
    What do you think?

Thanks mate. I'll give it a go once I get the Mrs off it! lol.

  • Suggestions for Reponsive menus or menu software

I am having fun using the Fluid Grid layouts but am a bit stuck when it comes to designing responsive menus to put in them.
I use AlltheWeb(no actual reponsive menus yet), css3menu (limited changes can be made to colours, shading and borders)  and have viewedSothink(no mention of responsvie).
Is there a facility in Dreamweaver CS6 for this I have missed - or could others kindly recommend something they have used.

Thanks you very much Sudarshan - especially for the offer to use your very own responsive menu.
You did send me another post which is deleted now but it was to this  menu:
    http://codecanyon.net/item/meganizr-responsive-css3-mega-menu/2629504
I have found it brilliant thanks and with the extra addon for changing hover to click for touch screens it works really well - bit complicated to set up I think though but I am getting the hang of it!

  • Where can we suggest new features for Yahoo Messenger and other RIM IM clients?

I just downloaded the new version of Yahoo Messenger and I like the user interface. But every time a new version comes out, this application creates a less-complete history of contact behavior. Several versions ago, the contact's status showed up in the open conversation, along with the time stamp of when the status changed. This included Idle and Custom Status changes. That disappeared. In the last version, you could see the time the contact signed in or out last, and sometimes both. Now they're gone as soon as you close the conversation.
The whole idea of having Yahoo up on the BlackBerry all the time is that you don't have to be staring at the screen all the time, that you should be able to take it out of your pocket and check out those events that occurred that didn't set off alarms. I'd like the whole contact history to be right there, for as long as I want to keep it active. How can I make this suggestion to RIM for the next version of Yahoo Messenger? Thanks.

This is a good place to share your thoughts and ideas. RIM could easily get these info as this community is build by RIM.

  • How to create multiple TYPES of objects from one menu?

Q: How can I create a single class to create objects of multiple 'object classes' in a way that is not a huge switch statement?
    Explaination:
Let's say that I have an application that I am building, that manages five hundred object types. A properly-built object subclassing tree is created, and I want to be able to create objects of any 'leaf node' of this subclassing tree using a single 'objectCreate()' method in a 'factory object'. The purpos of this method will be to create an instance of the correct object, pass a handle to a few collections for properly sorting and storing these objects in groups.
Usually, one could create a switch in this function, testing for the type of object that the user wants to create from the menu. But in the case of having hundreds of possible object choices, this becomes harder and harder code to maintain (let alone performance).
    Any suggestions?

    But if my menu has:
    1. German Shepard
    2. Doberman Pinscher
    3. Malamut
    4. Persian Long-hair
    5. Siamese
    6. Tabby
And my object class tree goes:
                                  [ Animal ]
                 [ Cat ]                              [ Dog ]
[ various breeds ]                         [ various breeds ]How do I code the menu class to respond to the input, so that it runs the correct [breed] object's constructor?
    The line:
    Animal choice = new xxxxxxxx();
I can't use a variable to replace 'xxxxxxxx' in run-time, but having a ton of choices in code sounds/looks unreasonable.
    if (choice == "Doberman Pinscher")
    Animal choice = new doberman();
    else if (choice == "Tabby")
    Animal choice = new tabby();
Do you see what I am trying to avoid? I am not experienced enough to instantly realize how to avoid the latter, and instead, do a single instantiation command for the correct constructor.

  • How do I disable context menu hiding?

When I use many of the javascript rich sites on the 'net, they often have suggestions on the right click menu. Each time I want use anything 'new' (like spelling corrections) in the right click menu (context menu) I have to click "Show All". This sucks and I can't find how to turn it off!

  • Menu bar in Safari missing

I have looked at a few posts, but have not seen an answer that works for me.  My menu bar in safari is missing.  I am not in full screen mode.  I have tried putting it in full screen mode and then taking it out of full screen mode, but it doesn't work.  I hover over where the menu bar should be, but it does not appear.  It's as if it thinks it is in full screen mode, but it really is not.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Click "View"menu  in the Safari menubar and select "Show Toolbar".
    or
Click "View" menu in the Safari menu bar and click "Customize Toolbar".
From the drop down drag the default set into the Toolbar.
the one under " or drag the default set into the Toolbar"
    Click "Done".
    Best.

Any help is appreciated. I really love that menu!

I ran yaourt as root to install gnome-main-menu-svn, and it got past that part. Looks like that was a problem with permissions that also needs to be fixed.
Now its telling me that I don't have a high enough version of libnm-glib, it is asking for >= 0.7.0, and I have 0.6.6. I checked the the repos and there does not seem to be a 0.7.0 version or higher available. A suggestion on the gnome-main-menu-svn package page makes a suggestion, but Im not sure how to go about it
current revision (451) doesn't work with networkmanager 0.6.6 from extra. Revision 401 from http://svn.gnome.org/svn/gnome-main-men … nome-2-22/ works for now.
So I either need to get revision 401 from the svn instead, or get networkmanager and its libs at version 0.7.0
How could I go about doing any of these things. I am not familiar with SVN, so go easy on me.
    EDIT:
I found a package called networkmanager-beta which seems to be version 0.7.0. Trying to install that with yaourt is unsuccessful as well.

Also had to do yaourt as root to get that far. Why is it that when you use yaourt as root, it advises you to switch to a normal user, and then the packages will not install correctly unless you do?
So far I have been very turned off by the AUR

  • Spry horizontal menu help

I've tried to figure this out reading the live docs and
can't, so asking for some suggestions here.
The horizontal menu items created using spry don't look
right. "News & Press" is spaced closer to "Contact Us" because
the text is longer. I don't know how to get the individual links
    spaced more appropriately.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • My spry horizontal menu drops then returns when clicked?

    Hello,
I recently updated my website to include a Facebook "Like" button with counter, and now my spry horizontal menu jumps up and down when you click a menu item?
    http://www.kansascitycrates.com/index.html
I played around with the like button position in my template, before just adding it to the existing "Recommend" position at the top.  It is simply a 2 column 1 row table.
What setting is causing the Spry horizontal menu to jump like that?
    Thanks in advance.
    John

    Thank you SnakEyez02,
I made the changes you suggested. The spry horizontal menu should be below the header background image.  Also, I put the Facebook plugins into a table, for lack of better understanding of controlling it's placement.  I would like both Facebook buttons to be even along the top.
When I opened the template this morning, the last spry menu option (Testimonials) suddenly word wrapped (?) and began a second line under the first menu item (Contact).  So I played with adjusting it's width and font size. I haven't made any other template changes in 6 months and don't know why it "word wrapped"?
Thank you again for your help.

  • Missing top menu I tunes/Search unenabled

    Dear all,
Last week I noticed that the top menu on my I Tunes was missing.  If I move my cursor to the positions where File, Edit etc. were I can see the menu listings but I am unable to search in the search box on the right.  I spent about 2 hours trawling through various forums where I found different advice.  I tried reinstalling I tunes but it has made no difference.  Can anyone give me an up-to-date answer as to the best thing to do as I know this has happened to other people.   Also, I would be interested to know why it happens?  I am using a PC with Windows 7.   Many thanks,   Sophie

That's consistent with trouble with the Segoe UI fonts on your system.
If you're using Windows XP or Windows Vista, try Vortical's technique from the following post:

  • I have a Mac OS X 10.8.4 and Safari 6.0.5 it has stopped downloading any suggestions?

I have a Mac OS X 10.8.4 and Safari 6.0.5 it has been working beautifully but suddenly freezes when I try to download anything. I am looking for fixes, any suggestions appreciated.

From the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. That will revert its settings to the defaults.

  • IPhoto 7: Menu Selections Gray, Photos Don't Show

Trying to install iPhoto 7 (iLife '08) on my dad's iMac G4 (1 GHz, PowerPC, 768 MB RAM, OS 10.4.11) -- ignore the computer info below as that's my own computer, not the one on which I'm trying to install iPhoto.
According to the package and Apple's web site, iPhoto 7 should work on this computer. However, after installing and running iPhoto, the photo library doesn't open and almost all menu selections are gray. I have tried following Apple's instructions for rebuilding the library (holding down Command-Option while starting) and that does not happen. I have tried updating iPhoto 7 to 7.1.4 and the same things happen. I can select the Help menu. I can also select the Preferences menu item but the Preference panel does not open. I can quit iPhoto. That's about it.
I tried rebuilding the old library (iPhoto 2.01) and reinstalling iPhoto 7. Nothing changed. I tried using iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild the library and that made no difference. I cannot manually import photos from the old library because the menu selections don't work.
    What am I missing?

Terence -- I really appreciate the time you're taking to try to help me.
I upgraded iPhoto all the way to 7.1.5. Nothing changed.
Per Apple's instructions for rebuilding the photo library, I launched iPhoto holding down the Command-Option keys. Nothing changed -- the library was not rebuilt as far as I could tell.
I tried launching iPhoto with just the Option key pressed as you suggested. Nothing changed -- no menu.
Every time I launch iPhoto, I get the opening splash screen that, if clicked, takes me to the iPhoto page of Apple.com.
Could this be an operating system problem? Do I need to try to reinstall OS 10.4.x and then upgrade back to 10.4.11? I would need to do an "Archive and Install" since I would be installing an earlier version of the OS over the current, older version. If I need to do that, what issues am I facing in order to get the settings (System Preferences, etc.) back to where they are now?

  • If after clearing history, I am still getting filled in suggestions in Firefox 3.6 user names using Mac OS 10.6, how can I eliminate the suggestions for users and searches?

I made an error when I was filling in a user name. Firefox is continuing to offer this as a suggestion in a drop down menu after using Clear Recent History. I used Clear Recent History, tried restarting Firefox after clearing history, and reinstalled Firefox. I did a search on Google, Firefox and Apple to see if someone else has reported this problem. All gave the same information that I have already tried.
    Firefox 3.6.11
    Mac OSX 10.6

In my case it seems that Firefox just doesn't "see" (or can't find?) the coupon printer application anymore after the FF update. (and yes, my add-ons are enabled - to answer the tech support people's first question).
For me, the coupon printer doesn't even show up in my Firefox "Add-Ons" list anymore. Is that what people typically see when they're saying the coupon printer "doesn't work" with FF? The coupon printer was visible on the add-ons list before my FF update, and now it's totally Gone! It seems that Firefox just doesn't "see" (or can't find?) the coupon printer application anymore since the FF update.
When I'm on the coupons.com site and I click "print coupons", it tells me I haven't installed the application. But it Is installed on my computer, I can see it in my folders, and it works on IE, so it's definitely there.
BTW - I have uninstalled/reinstalled the coupon printer application. I have tried all the suggestions on the Mozilla help/forum sites, as well as the Coupons.com web site. I have closed and re-started Firefox after the installation. I have also shut down and restarted my pc after installation. I tried installing the application with Firefox open, and tried it again with Firefox closed. I've even cleared out all my cookies/history associated with Coupons.com.
... I can't think of anything else to try, except for the "solution" of using IE for coupons.
If it Really is a problem on the Coupon.com end of things, do you think it's worth it if we bombard the coupons.com support team with messages saying they need to fix the problem? (or just a waste of time?) ;(
