SUGGESTION: Update your profile with your Logic version!

A suggestion, especially to people new to the forum:
Update your profile to include which version of Logic you are running.
Doing this will increase the chances of getting your question answered quickly (i.e., the first response won't have to be "what version are you running?").
It will also help you get your question answered correctly! This is because there are small but significant differences in the feature set between 7.1.1 and 7.2.x. Therefore, knowing which version you're running will help you get an answer that's accurate to your particular version.

Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID

I've been getting prompts whenever I look at certain websites to download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. I'm skeptical as to responding to those prompts. What is the best way to update my Mac Pro with the latest version of Adobe Flash Player?

You might also want to consider uninstalling Adobe Flash... I currently don't have it installed and haven't needed to install it. Most websites are now coded in HTML 5 so that the iOS devices can actually visit them. I can still watch YouTube videos et al. About the only thing I can't do is play Flash games... but they're a resource hog anyways.
Try going without for a day or two and see just how many sites you visit no longer require it. A lot of people keep it installed out of habit, not out of necessity. If you have Flash installed, visit a site and it's out of date, it will tell you to update your Flash. What it won't do is tell you is that had Flash not been installed, it would have used the HTML 5 code instead. Think about it... if an iOS device can't run Flash at all... it can't visit this site if it were written only to use Flash. What site would eliminate such a huge portion of their market base? You'd be surprised at how many sites use HTML 5. Uninstall Flash and see for yourself.

Camera Profiles with Older Lightroom Version

Using an older version (LR 2.7) on an older Mac G5. Would like to download the camera profiles for my Canon cameras (1Ds MK2, G12) from Adobe but can't find them on line. Since this version is old, do compatible profiles still exist? If so, where might I find them?

You cannot add camera support for newer cameras to an older version of LR by merely downloading profiles.
You have to either update the LR to a version that is newer than your camera or use the DNG Converter that is new enough to create DNGs from the raw files and then those DNGs have enough information for an older version of LR to support them. The issue you’d have is that the DNG Converter probably only runs on the newer OS as well, so you’ll have to find another computer to convert the files with.

Plug-in updated but profile still shows older version

I've spent most of the morning trying to update my Silverlight plugin to the latest version (5.1.10411.0) from the older version that's now blocked (5.0.61118.0). I've tried multiple downloads and installations, both with the plugin disabled and with it not disabled, and I've also manually removed the files Microsoft says to remove to manually uninstall Silverlight:

/Library/Receipts/Silverlight.pkg
/Library/Receipts/Silverlight_W2_MIX.pkg
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/WPFe.plugin
/Library/Receipts/WPFe.pkg
Finally, I created a new user on my Mac, opened Firefox in that user, and discovered that the Silverlight plugin was updated to (5.1.10411.0). I restarted the Mac, opened my regular user and Firefox profile... and the Silverlight plugin still shows as (5.0.61118.0).
I'm pretty sure that this is just a plist somewhere that's not updating. Any ideas of what I can do short of continually yanking out files, reinstalling, and hoping for the best?

As we can see, your browser still reports Silverlight version 5.0.61118.0. That may mean that the update was not unsuccessful. Try to uninstall and install again Silverlight. Then restart your computer.
We might also require some technical information if that doesn't work on your computer. Please do the following if reinstalling Silverlight doesn't work:
*Click the Firefox button at the top left, then click the ''Help'' menu and select ''Troubleshooting information'' from the submenu. If you don't have a Firefox button, click the Help menu at the top and select ''Troubleshooting information'' from the menu.
Now, a new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
*At the top of the page, you should see a button that says "Copy all to clipboard''. Click it.
*Now, go back to your forum post and click inside the reply box. Press Ctrl+V to paste all the information you copied into the forum post.

Updating an iBook with a newer version

We are using iBooks Author to produce iBooks internally for manuals etc. We have an issue where when manuals are updated it is very difficult to get them on to the iPads.
The newer version of the manual displays fine on my mac air, but won't update on my iPad. I've tried deleting the old version from iBooks, clearing Safari's cache, turning it off and on again and still the old version comes back to iBooks.
To get the new iBook: I've downloaded it to Safari and chosen open in "iBooks"
I've searched for some solutions and come up short.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

Each device needs to download the update. It wise to delete the old version- which is not needed as the book is not via the store...it's not seen as an update..just another book.
Do you use Dropbox or dimilar? If not maybe you should, it's free and the app can go on all your staff iPads and download from a supplied link.
i Send photo books to family "across the water" and while Apples Safari option seems fine, it can be iffy on some machines...so I stick to the old and easy method.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Try a restore to factory defaults/new iPod. If still problem then you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

How can I update a Numbers '08 document to work with the current version?

I've had Numbers '08 for quite awhile (obviously). Have a few spreadsheets in it that I tried as an alternative to Excel. I've now got the most current version of Numbers but it won't open the spreadsheets created in the '08 version. I get an error message telling me to save them with Numbers '09, which I do not have.
Is there any way to get these updated to work with the current version? If so, that would be great, would like to try it out. If not, I'm just going to copy this stuff into Excel and be done with Numbers entirely.

This is a work-around - but also send feedback to apple that that is pretty low in the 21st century where people may keep data without opening it for a very long time - then need it desperately.

Export the spreadsheets to another format - CSV may work - then import into the new version.
Also you could try export to excel format and import.

What do i do with regular CS6 version currently on computer?

I bought CS6 upgrade and have them currently on compter. I just signed up for the cloud membership. My question is do i need to uninstall cs6 and deactivate it and then download apps from the cloud? I guess I am just trying to figure out what to do with the non cloud versions of the software I currently have on my computer. I can't really find an answer for that anywhaere.

As a Creative Cloud member you do get access to some updates sooner than with the regular version, so this might be a reason to get the installations recognized as part of your membership. If you go to Help > Deactivate in any current CS6 installations, then restart the computer and relaunch the CS6 products it should give you an option to sign in with your Adobe ID again, and recognize your Creative Cloud membership. This would prevent you from having to reinstall. Save your CS6 serial numbers for the upgrade you purchased though in case you ever wanted to use them again.
