Suggestions for Enhanced Calendar Features

I think it would be cool to see the moon phases on the calendar along with my appointments, and such.
It would be a nice little addtion to have included and be able to carry with my digital lifestyle!

Where can i make a suggestion for a mail feature on a future update?

I was looking for somewhere to make a suggestion for a future mail feature on the iphone, but couldn't find a place to do it.
It would be useful to be able to set mail fetching as manual in the evening and timed during the working day so my evenings aren't disturbed by work emails.
What do you reckon Apple? A feature for the next iOS update?

X1 Suggestion for enhancement of System

HI all,Have had X1 for 1 week and wanted to make the following enhancement suggestions. 1) For DVR recordings change save system to allow for creation of folders for recording to be filed into so recording are not in one big list all comingled and hard to get through. Putting them in folders setup by enduser is a feature Dish and others have seems like a simple function to add for Comcast. 2) Develop a remote with a 30 sec forward skip button 3) 2 Key remote functions missing in todays day and age: Button to change TV line input choice, Lighted remote buttons. 4) X1 remote badly needs a AUX button....the "All On" function works for the TV but does not allow for control to turn on our home theater receiver so the cutting edge tech now has us using 2 remotes when the old tech we used the one Comcast remote to control everything. It should be noted the Harmony 900 is discontinued and new units are expensive and getting very rare. I have a Harmony One and yesterday I ordered a refurbished 900. The new Harmony remotes are equally capable. In fact they offer smartphone and tablet control. However the new Harmony remotes are not designed as well as the 900. Having the 0-9 channel buttons on a touchscreen is a really bad idea. Personally I think the Harmony One and Harmony 900 have the best button layout and design of ANY universal remote. When Comcast was designing X1, one of their biggest motivations was removing buttons from the remote. I was told the TV input button on the silver remote was the one of the biggest sources of service calls. flguy2 is right. The only way to accomplish what you want is to get a good universal remote. However the old silver/Moto remote runs my Arris made X1 DVR just fine... flguy2 wrote:

The Harmony remote also has backlit keys, which light up when you move the remote around. 4) See #3. The programmable universal remotes are great because there is SO much customization you can do. The Harmony brand by Logitech comes with a USB and you program it via their web site or separately downloaded software. If this sounds too complicated than you may not like it, but it will ultimately give you exactly what you want. You can even control fans and lights with it, pretty much anything that has an IR or RF receiver built into it. Additional idea/improvement: I miss the ability to skip ahead by DAY in the channel guide. For example, if I am the Discovery Channel, I would like to see what is on at 8pm the following 4 nights. There is no easy way to do this. With the old non-X1 guide you could select your channel then the whole guide would become a vertical listing of the shows on that channel for upcoming times and you could page up/down by day. I don't see a way to do that with the X1.

Suggestion for a new feature

There are some members of this community (Templeton Peck, for example) who spend a considerable amount of time scouring the forum for off-topic posts and offering guidance as to more appropriate venues to post questions and find information, usually including links to third-party forums and other useful information. While I really appreciate the service these people provide, others often misconstrue their intentions. Sometimes the only thanks they get are accusations of List Mommery.
I'd like to suggest that Apple add a feature to the forum software to provide the same kind of service in a more systematic way. Since posts are already parsed to identify "bad words" and replace them with "xxxx," this could also be used to identify posts about third-party products, and when a post appears to pertain to one of those products, the response page could contain a notice that says something like the following:
We noticed that your post appears to reference [name of third-party product]. If you are indeed experiencing problems with this product, you might find the following of interest: [links to forums and other information resources provided by the vendor and/or independent discussions on Yahoo, etc.]
The list of links and resources could be provided by users like us through a Third Party Products topic in the forums so users can, hopefully, find them before they post questions here that would be more appropriately addressed by those other forums or knowledge bases. This topic would be for posting resources only, not discussing problems, so it would have to be heavily moderated.

Apple Discussions does not have to be a one-stop shop.
And would people use it as you plan, given the number of hardware and software queries that are posted here, ( but then, as there are an unusually high number of 'off forum' postings posted here I think most of them are intentionally mischievous.)

Suggestion for small photo feature

I just got myself a nano and I think that the thumbnails of my photo albums on the iPod is a neat feature.
One thing is that while the display isn't any bigger, I think it is a waste to use space on a black background when viewing a picture that is taller than it is wide.
It is quite easy to turn the iPod 90 degrees while viewing the images, so a really neat feature (in my oppinion) would be an option in iTunes to turn the thumbnails of all images that are taller than they are wide 90 degrees before putting them on the iPod!

Thanks for your suggestion, but my point is that I would like to have them turned properly in My Documents.
By default all photos in "My Documents" are copied to the iPod. This is very convenient for many, since this is where they keep their photo albums.
From you photo album you would of course like to have your pictures rotated so that up is up.
On your iPod, however, it is not so important how you need to turn the iPod (for me at least).
What is important (still for me) is that you only have 176 x 132 pixels to display your thumbnail. If the image is transferred 'standing up' you will only be using 132 x 99 pixels and thus I would prefer to have all images be rotated on the iPod, but not on the PC.
The convenience of having iTunes copying the images automatically from the photo album disappears if you have to maintain a separate copy of your photoalbum targeted specifically for the iPod.
Does this make sense?

Suggestion for the Calendar

Im not sure if this suggestion has been posted previously, but I thought I would put it out there in case Apple is watching.
The calendar repeat options need to add the ability to repeat on a certain day of each month such as first monday, fourth tuesday, etc.

Suggestions for Preview app features (Snow Leopard)

There's lot's to like in the new Preview app, but I'd like a few more things:
1. Ability to edit and reorder Tables of Contents.
2. Ability to reorder Bookmarks (and to hierarchically group them)

Suggestion for new Mail feature

It would be great to be able to file emails to folders by using a button on the toolbar, or a keyboard shortcut, that would open a text box in which you could type the name of the folder you want to file the email.
(Also, it's too hard to find the link on the Apple support site to send product feedback.)

What is the difference the following two method signatures?

Suggestion for feature

I use iTunes on my work pc solely for putting music on my iPod .
Yesterday I bought my first songs on ITMS and wanted to transfer them to my iPod.
When dragging and trying to drop the songs onto the iPod nothing happened.
Much later I found out that my work PC was not yet authorized to play songs bought with my ITMS account.
The thing I find a bit odd is how to authorize the pc - namely by playing a piece of purchased music. This seems an odd action since I don't even have speakers on the computer.
My suggestion for a new feature is to: show the 'Authorize this computer' when the user attempts to drop a purchased song onto the iPod - or at least display a message stating what is happening and why it is not possible at the moment - and what to do about it.

Some Bugs and Enhancement Suggestions for Offline DB models

I really like the way that this area of JDeveloper is shaping up, but I have a couple of bugs and few suggestions for enhancements.
Bugs,
1) when adding an index to a table, you can't edit the index name. If the generated name is too long, it doesn't allow you to create the index.
2) When adding columns to an index, there is no LOV of columns so you have to manually type each one. It always defaults to the ?first column of the primary key? which seems odd.
A few enhancement suggestions:
1) on tables and columns it would be very helpful to be able to also have a logical name as well as a physical name
2) if we have a logical name, it would be then very helpful to be able to set the display properties to show the logical vs. physical table and column names
3) Tablespace objects. I would be okay if they were just the logical object (not necessarily generate DDL to create them). If I could use them as part of the table and index definitions.
4) Table partitioning.
5) Packages on a DB Diagram. Just for the documentation purpose of visually displaying all objects in an application.
6) Ability to create views based on synonyms. Currently, it only allows to pick a table or view.
Just a few items that I have encountered trying to design a full application in JDeveloper.

2. On Sync re-encode Apple Lossless (in iTunes) to ACC 128K (on iPod). My preference is to import all of my CDs using the Apple Lossless encoder.

What is the proper way to report suggestions for app features to Apple? Or, do they even want suggestions?
And, how about reporting app bugs? Should I just assume the bug is already known, or is there a way for (quickly) reporting them?
