  • Noise measurment of an accelerometer with the PCI-4461 card

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to measure the noise of an single axis accelerometer with a PCI-4461 card.
First, I have manually measured this noise using an HP35665 signal analyser. I obtain something like this:
And now with LabView and the PCI-4461 card, I get this:
My question is: where does this part come from? And how to remove it ? (Since it doesn't exist with the signal analyser)
    I'm using LabView 8.5.
This is how I configured the DAQ acquisition:
    and this is my VI:
Thank you in advance for helping

    Hello
Yes indeed, the time signal seems to have two paterns (in green below), once negative and positive once about 50 ms later. This pattern is repeated with a frequency of 0.94 Hz (for simplicity let's say 1Hz).
I have reproduced this pattern with matlab using a decreasing exponential:
I have obtained this spectral signal:
That closely looks like what disturbs the spectrum, indeed..
Then I have tried to output a sinewave and acquire it:
    I didn't see any problem.
So I made the measurment with other sensors.
The sensors are ICP accelerometers. The sensors that I am using are in page 7 of these document:
    https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http%3A%2F%2Fvibrasens.com%2Fimages%2Fpdf%2FVS_Catalog.pdf
(I'm currently doing an intership in this company)
And finally I found that the problem came from the cable: when I use the shielded cables, the problem is present; and when I use "normal" cable, there is not the problem, as you can see :
(In red, the sensor is connected with a non shielded cable, and in white, with a shielded one.)

I would like to pay for apple tv rentals with a different credit card from my iTunes Store. How can I do this?

Any purchases made from the iTunes Store, on your computer, AppleTV, or iOS device, use the same billing information that is associated with your account. To pay with a different credit card, log in to your account and change the payment options associated with your account. If you want to use different payment options on different devices, you may want to consider utilizing multiple iTunes accounts, each with its own payment options.

  • Need suggestion for variable size array of primitive type.

    Hi all,
I am working on a problem in which I need to keep an array of primitive (type int) sorted. Also I insert new elements while keeping it sorted, and at times I merge two similar arrays with unique elements.
I would welcome suggestions on the implementation aspects as to which type/class to use. My primary consideration is performance. Here are my observations:
    1. type int
Efficient operation, but arrays are fixed size so it makes clumsy code and overhead when the array is expanded or merged with another.
Methods in class Arrays can be used, incl. binary search and sort.
    2. Vector, ArrayList, List, LinkedList
Accept objects only. I can use Integer instead of int, but it will involve overhead, and I'll need to write my own sort and search routines (already done).
For now, I choose option 2 using Vectors. Is there a better choice, or are there other options, given the conditions and consideration enumerated at the beginning?
    Appreciate any input or comments.

            testObjectsList(new ArrayList<Integer>(), numTests, seed);
            testPrimitiveList(new IntArrayList(), numTests, seed);
}In the test above, Java's ArrayList is about 5 times faster. But when commenting out the remove(...) methods, the primitive 3rd party IntArrayList is about 4 to 5 times faster.
    Give it a spin.
Again: just try to do it with the standard classes: if performance lacks, look at something else.

  • Need suggestions for a new printer with OS 10.9.5

I have a 2010 HP 6500 A Plus printer that has worked well with my iMac circa 2010. Printer is not feeding paper. It won't scan. Are there suggestions for a new compatible printer for OS 10.9.5.?

    Hey Debbisita,
Thanks for the question. It sounds like you are experiencing issues with your Printer and OS X. Before opting to purchase a new printer, you can try these troubleshooting steps to completely isolate the issue:
Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/ts3147
Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:
Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again.  Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Suggestions for Apple in dealing with icloud outages

The ongoing outage of icloud mail service to many of us, two days and counting as of Sept 12, 2012,  prompts me to make some constructive suggestions for Apple.
Apple should find ways of letting customers know whether customer inability to access their icloud mail is something the customer can fix or whether it is a problem only Apple can fix.
As a starter, the popup windows that users see when icloud mail is unavailable should direct them to the web site where system status of icloud mail is shown, namely
    http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/systemstatus/
Customers will be less likely to exhibit anger toward Apple if they are given some real information about why icloud mail is unavailable. This can be put on the system status web page above.
The staff on the floor at Apple Stores should know, and be willing to tell customers, that when their own ipads are having difficulty communicating because of a server problem, that this may also affect the service to customers.
Apple should consider gathering from clients of icloud mail some alternative email accounts that could be used to notify clients of outages.
Apple should acknowledge that people do rely on their icloud services and should find ways of using backup servers, much as hospitals have backup generators to supply electricity when municipal sources fail.

  • XServe G4 2.3 DP - external sata card?

    hello!
I'm looking at 4 port pci-x sata cards for an Apple xServe G5 2.3 DP.
I have seen the "Sonnet Tempo X4P External 4 Port SATAII" mentioned in a lot of places so am aware of that, but it's relatively expensive.
Raidon also offer a card - Raidon SATA II PCI-X Card 4 x eSATA Port 64bit - which seems to be the same. It doesn't officially say "supports mac" on their product page, but then in their downloads section there are mac drivers etc for it. One of their sales reps pointed me to it when I mentioned the Sonnet Temp card above (because the cost of the Sonnet is a lot higher in comparison).
Has anyone had experience with the Raidon in an xserve??
    regan

    hi daddyPaycheck,
have you used a sonnet unit before?
I've got a question regarding the hot-swap function.
If you've got 2 drives in a Raid 1, and one drive failes, you stick a new drive in - will the sonnet card recognize the new drive without having to restart either the mac or the external enclosure??
I know some enclosures require you to restart the enclosure if the drive being replaced has been part of a Raid or it won't recognise it.

Just disable the gameport on "Device Manager" to see if it's the culprit.
Have you also played with mouse settings (acceleration and saple rate)?

  • Driver for Creative graphics blaster 3D CLGD5464 pci vga card

Can anyone tell me from where to find the driver for Creative graphics blaster 3D CLGD 5464 pci vga card. The driver in Solaris8 is for CLGD 5465 which is not compatible with my card. The solaris detects my card as CLGD 5465 but it doesent work. Can anyone tell me what should I do about it?
    thanks, Kashif ([email protected])

If it is not supported by the Xserver under Solaris you may find you can get it to work by installing XFree86 (www.xfree86.org), there are compiled binaries for Solaris Intel that will make the transition easier (personally I found the 3.3.5 version works well). First check at www.xfree86.org if your videa-card IS supported under XFree though. There are some tweaks you need to add to get it all to work in the Solaris x86 FAQ. Since you probably have to do all of this in non-gui its not easy but can be done.

  • What values do you suggest for SCAN_Start in Delphi to make a 6052 card sample 6 channels at 50000 s/s/ch

    I need to sample 6 channels @ 50000 s/s/ch on a PCI-6052E card. I use Delphi function SCAN_Start with params 4, 5, 6 & 7 set to -1, 50, 1 and 20 respectively. Params 6 & 7 are derived using the DAQ_Rate function. But I get a -10092 error. This suggest param 7 is incorrect. Can you suggest values to get the card going?

    Hi Mike,
I have a couple of links which offer a bit of advice on this. I'm not sure of the exact values that you should use but I would suggest you start aiming low (probably get one channel working at first and then you can work your way up from there).
    Please look at these links:

  • Upper Limit On HDD Capacity For QS G4 2001 Model W/PCI ATA133 Card?

    Hey Everyone,
I currently have a Tempo ATA133 PCI card installed in my QuickSilver G4 2001 system (http://www.sonnettech.com/product/tempo_ata133.html). To address capacity issues, I'm considering adding a very large 500 GB, 7200 RPM ATA133 Hitatchi HDD (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822147008), which would connect to this PCI card.
Does anyone have reason to believe this configuration would cause issues, or if there's an upper limit on the amount of HDD space a PCI ATA133 card can support?
My feelings are that this configuration will be fine, but I'd like feedback before I proceed.

Good information bhgdfh! I'll have to reinstall OS 9 it seems to load the firmware, which is fine. If I end up buying the drive, I'll post the results! Meantime, I'm keeping the question unanswered in case anyone else has additional input.

  • Dell optiplex 755 won't boot with NI PCI Fieldbus card installed

This card works fine 745 and older dell pc's.
    Anybody else having this problem?

    Hi,
In which step does the boot process fail? Is there any error message?
After installing NI-FBUS 3.1, please go to Windows Device Manager, check whether the driver of PCI-FBUS is correctly installed. There should be no any error in Device Manager.
You can try the following methods.
    1. Change to another PCI slot.
    2. Use Windows XP. NI-FBUS 3.1 does not support Windows Vista.
    3. If there exist other PCI devices in the system, remove them and try using PCI-FBUS only.
    4. Update the drivers of Dell Optiplex 755 if there are new versions, including video card, ethernet card, etc.

  • A suggestion for all the people with panics and piix

Everyone may overlook this because it seems so simple of a possible fix. So I will try to explain why it may help. It has worked for me, and several others. My laptop uses this chipset, and so it intermittantly panics for me if I don't use this. My information may not be 100% precise, but I will try to explain the best I know.
Since linux started using udev, hardware detection is asynchronous now. This allows faster and more efficient detection, but can cause all sorts of problems depending on the quality of your motherboard, bios, and other gear. So depending on circumstances, the time it takes for udev to get responses from all hardwares might vary depending on any number of circumstances. Limitless changes in kernel, firmwares, bios, drivers, etc- everyone's experience might vary. It may have worked fine in 2.6.17, but 2.6.18 does not work at all, 2.6.19 is spotty, etc...
This problem mostly occurs in my usb/external and sata drives. But in certain times I will get panic on my ide internal drive on boot. The bootloader relies on BIOS detection to get started. But once kernel loads, control is turned over to kernel. But kernel/udev request might not get response in time (since its asynchronous now) before boot tries to turn over to root=/dev/xxx. So mount fails, panic occurs. Earlymodules=piix tries to thwart this problem by loading the module much sooner. But again, depending on yout hardware, it might not happen soon enough. Also, since the drive will be busy at random times depending, it might need to finish up before it will respond to udev.
In summary, the drive has not responded to udev/kernel before the bootloader finishes loading the kernel and tries to turn control over to the new root. earlymodules=piix works for some, not others. Especially now since pata over ide. If you have this problem, the fix very well might be as simple as this, especially if you have sata, scsi or usb drives: Add rootdelay=15 on kernel line in bootloader. For example:
    kernel /boot/vmlinuz26ck root=/dev/sda2 rootdelay=15
15=15 seconds. Might not need this much, but 15 second delay should be ample time for most people. For me, i don't use the earlymodules=piix, and I use rootdelay=5, and every time is fine. This option tells the kernel to literally wait x seconds before trying to turn root=/dev/xxx over and continuing boot. during this pause, you might see misc. devices returning info to udev before continuing, including your drive.
It really probably does seem to easy or simple to be true. But try it- it might work for you. I have seen more people say OMG IT WORKED!! versus people who say it didn't. Hope this helps some of you.

I dont really know if there is a suggestion forum but i thought it would be neat if apple designed a iphone with a physical keyboard for those people who love to text. Apple could even run a internet pole to see what there customers would think i mean the iphone is top notch but i think having one with a slide out keyboard could possibly increase apples sales. Any who just thought id throw that out there and keep up the great work Apple.
