  • Unable to Download keynote for Ipad from app store.

Any suggestions for another viewer for a keynote presentation on my Ipad?  I need to do a presentation today and keynote is saying unable to download....

Perhaps it was a display model at one time in the store and someone registered the OS in their name. I would return to the store with the Mac and show them the stranger's name that appears in the Mac App Store when you try to update Lion. Perhaps it is even an employee. Anyway, they need to set this right by you. A new Mac should not have someone else's Apple ID registered into it. That registration sent the unique identifier to Apple for this Mac and registered it to the person's Apple ID. Not cool.

  • Making Suggestions for iPad

Does anyone know where one goes to make suggestions for improvements with the iPad? For example I have Pages with some of my templates but I am unable to print from the iPad after I write a document. Since it is wireless I should be able to print from my home network but there is no print feature. I can print from some documents using a third party app but I need to convert the Pages document to a pdf file, email it to my self and then go through a couple of other hurdles before I can print. That should be a pretty easy fix.

How many times does this have to be answered? You can print very easily from your iPad. Just do a simple search or just put 'print' into App Store search. It's not difficult!

  • Technology and training suggestions for data gathering app

Can anyone suggest some technologies and/or support to get us started on a mid-sized handheld effort?
Specifically, we're starting a project to build a handheld (WinCE-based) app which will allow users to fill out a short form and gather a GPS reading and perhaps a camera snapshot to accompany the form data. This data will later be imported into our J2EE app.
We have almost no handheld experience and don't know what technologies to evaluate, or what consulting expertise to set up to help start the team.
    Many thanks for your help!

    Hi Adam,
I'd suggest to implement it in a way that will be the fastest to deliver
working code, except the case when the main purpose of the project
is teaching you EJB, Weblogic and J2EE.
For this particular problem that could a session bean making
direct JDBC calls. It's just 5 lines of code...

I'm new to the WebLogic arena, and we're launching a new portal. We'vegot a portlet
that I want to query a SQL Server database for three records (specificallyonly one
column for the three records, that I want to concatenate). This data isupdated
approximately every four hours via an outside admin tool.
Looking for suggestions for the best way to implement this.
We don't need to constantly query this data, but it may also be overkillto persist
this data in a full entity EJB. I began to write a read-only entity EJBthat I figure
I could specify it's refresh interval in the deployment descriptor. Isthere a better
way? In a previous app, we were simply querying the database, storing astring (~1000
characters) in an application scope in memory, along with a date variable, and for
each user just checking the date variable. If the date was over fourhours ago,
we requeried the database with a component call (Microsoft COM). I'dprefer to reduce
even the RMI lookup for the bean if I can, but I don't think I grasp quiteenough
about the EJB pooling mechanism -- this might not be an issue.
Could I do this in a stateless session bean more efficiently?
    We're running WLS6.1sp2 in a dev environ with Portal4.0sp2. (But upgradingto sp3
    soon.)
Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

  • Markup tools for iPad Keynote app?

I saw a youtube clip from an early keynote ipad app where in presentation mode one could swipe up and it would give you a palette of colors to draw with. This might be an interesting alternative to a wacom tablet / mac book pro. I teach college chemistry and it might allow for presenting keynote lecture material and hand written content on one platform. Perhaps the capactiance screen is too low a resolution. Anyone know of this or maybe I am just behind and the ipad app can do that? Thanks, Dean

You could use an app to establish a VNC connection via an app like Screens or iTeleport but to my knowledge, Keynote for iPad does not, in fact, allow you to control your presentation from your device.

  • Searching for iPad new apps

How can I search or browse only the new posted applications daily for iPad without going through all of them?
    Thanks

    Try sorting by Release Date.

  • Who do I email if I have some suggestion for apple iPhone apps?

I have some ideas for the app store and iTunes app. Just wonding who I email

If you have an app idea, then you can find an app that you like and try to get in touch with whoever makes that app and make a suggestion to them, or learn how to make iphone apps and make it yourself.

  • My settings in the AppStore only allow me to search for iPad only apps or iPhone only, not both. How do I fix this?

I have been having trouble downloading apps that are on the the store but not iPad exclusive or iPhone exclusive. So apps available on both devices are not available to me

    Are you sure?
An App that appears in the iPad Store, for example, may be useable on the iPhone.  If it is, there would be a small "+" sign in the upper left of the price (or free) indicator.

  • Any suggestions for online community app that i can use with ITunesU?

Motion 2.0 was paired with FCP 5. Final Cut Studio 1 included both. When Apple switched to Intel processors, they released FCP 5.1 and Motion 2.1 as an Intel compatible "cross grade". FCS2 had FCP 6 and Motion 3. FCS3 is Motion 4 and FCP 7.

  • Suggestions for iPad lap desk?

It is obvious I am going to need some kind of lap desk for my iPad.  I use it a lot for writing, and a lap desk is essential.  There are hundreds of them on
the market.  Does anyone have one they can recommend?

'The Book Seat', while initially designed for books, works perfectly with an iPad or electronic readers.
Amazon in the USA sells them, as well as various retail outlets.
The image below shows the iPad in portrait mode, I prefer mine in Landscape mode.
It can be adjusted to almost any angle, which is more convenient than the fixed angles on many cases.
(disclaimer, this device was invented and designed by my sister)

  • Suggestion for iPad 2

    Multitouch + stylus = awesome.
    http://www.polyvore.com/techcombowish/set?id=25938878
    Anyone with me on this?

I don't even get the concept. What's being asks for? You can use a stylus on the iPad now, and the idea of hooking an input pad or slate to the iPad, and using a stylus on that slate, is a total non-starter; there's no cursor on the iPad to control.

  • Where could a person post a suggestion for an iPhone App ?

I have looked and searched and tried to log on to the developer forum with no luck.
+Could someone please point me to a forum where developers might hang out so I can pitch an idea for an application?+
    Many thanks!

I wanted to add that I am not seeking to make money with the idea- if the app was developed it would make my life so much easier. I would be willing to pay for it but it does not yet exist.

  • Kiosk-type slideshow presentation: suggestions for Keynote alternate app?

I’m looking for some software ideas to accomplish the following task.
I am looking to create continuously-playing slideshow presentations to to play on a flat-screen tv/monitor (~42”) running on an Intel MacMini.
The monitor will be placed in the physician lounge of a hospital and its intended purpose is to be a source of “bullet-point” type information for physicians regarding a wide variety of topics (new drugs added to the hospital formulary, new hours of operation of the outpatient laboratory, etc -- pretty much general F.Y.I. stuff). (There will be no sound).
My current plan is to use Keynote which seems to meet the basic needs of this setup (although I’m not sure you can set it to continuously loop).
I am curious if anyone can recommend any other applications for this purpose. I’m a pathologist (but really a closet graphic designer), and love playing with graphic/multimedia applications. Keynote does the nuts and bolts of what I need -- looking for any recommendations of other applications that might give me more “wow factor”.
    Thanks for your thoughts!

Keynote does looping just fine, and you can now automate all your transitions and builds, so it should work as a self running kiosk. What you might want to do though, is build your preso and then export it as a QT movie and have THAT playing in QT Pro on a loop. Reason being is playing a movie over and over is easy on the machine...playing a Keynote preso over and over with all those timings could leave you open for problems (I know one person on this forum once mentioned having to restart Keynote once a day to make sure the thing kept running.

  • Suggestion for ipad

Apple doesn't seem to have a suggestion box. Odd. Anyway, here's my suggestion. Obviously its going to have book and magazine reading applications. Scenario: You are reading along happily. Suddenly a character or name of person is mentioned who turns out to be very important. Their defining details were actually dropped into the flow of words some way back without much adumbration. This is a feature of bad writing or clever fiction writing. So you search. If you are reading a book, you use the index. But many books don't have indexes anymore because its so uncool. With computers you have a clumsy "find" function. HOw about a function in which you highlight the word and enact a fast "find backward" command, that quickly takes you back to the last mention and remembers where your original place was and returns you do to it once you have refreshed your memory?

    Ever tried Command+f then Previous?
