please help me...

The Axiom is actually my favorite M-Audio controller, so I second that vote! While I'm a keyboardist and appreciate well-implemented fully-weighted keys (and real lives pianos!), I much prefer M-Audio's semi-weighted keys in their Axiom line to their fully-weighted controllers which are a little gluey and difficult to play.
So I second the vote for the Axiom.
However, I prefer the larger Axiom models (the 61, actually), but would recommend the middle sized Axiom 49 even if you are a one hand player. I've found that given the choice, one hand players typically prefer the larger keyboard even if only using one hand on it at a time. It just feels better to have room to plop your other hand on the keyboard, even if you don't.
That having been said, the 25 note keyboard might be perfect for the way some people work, and is obviously far more mobile and easier to accommodate on a single desk.

  • Cannot use MIDI USB keyboard

I am trying to use a Novation USB keyboard that I have successfully used on 3 different macs before without any problems. But this new Macbook Amateur will NOT work with it at all. It is BEYOND annoying. I can see under the Apple System Profiler that the mac correctly identifies the hard ware, but no software can see it... Audio Midi Setup, Reason, Live, etc.
After 90 minutes with mac tech support, the final suggestion was to do an archive and install. Done. NO change. Thank you Apple for releasing yet another product that your customer base gets to beta test for you for free. No other company in the world could get away with this nonsense.

I'm seeing the same thing. What is working is the 'Current Program Number' mapping. This might seen as if it's one off, meaning that patch #1 = program change 0. You can either compensate for this when you set the range, or you can change the program number in the Attributes tab in the patch inspector (along the bottom when you have a patch selected).
Also, if you have a second you should use the Provide Mainstage Feedback link and report it.

  • Macbook running 10.6.8 not recognizing my midi usb keyboard! Need Help!

Hi im using a macbook running 10.6.8. I have literally spent about 12 hrs trying to fix this problem, I have with my mac recognizing my midi usb akai mpk mini keyboard. I have not heard about this problem on any other websites but basically my mac dosnt recognize it 7out of 8 times, and when it does I have roughly 5 to 15 minutes before all of a sudden my computer completely forgot it. I have tryed restarting it, finding drivers on akai's website, and messing with my 32 bit and 64 bit kernal settings. It came with this janky *** software that is very poorly explained in the manuel. But I have to admit the first 3 days I had it everytime I plugged it in my computer knew what it was, but as soon as I unplugged it for my trip to florida and plugged it in 8 hrs later, it started pooping out on me. I really need help I dont know if it is my midi settings, my hardware, the keyboard, or the janky software it came with. But if anyone can help me please help me out.

Really hope you figured this out as it's been 4 months. For the rest of you with similar problems I purchased the same device today and experienced the exact same problems. In the end I tried a new USB cable and everything was fine.

  • Need suggestion for small USB/FW camera for chat

I have an old (Tiger, PPC) laptop. My wife has an old (Panther, PPC) mini. I'm going on a trip and want to use Skype or iChat to be able to see the kids when we talk. Can someone suggest a camera USB/firewire camera which would be good for this purpose? I don't need too many fancy features but it would be nice if it weren't big and heavy (since I'll be traveling with mine). If it's on a flexible stick or mounts to the top of the monitor/laptop screen, that would be great. I see a bunch on Amazon but it's not clear which work with Panther/Tiger, which have Mac drivers, etc. Thank you!
    Mike

    Hi,
    Yes and no (Again)
Any Camera is going to have to suit your Mac and it's input ports.
iUSBCam Utility only works for iChat.
It was originally designed to get the External iSight working on G3 computer less that 600Mghz.
Very quickly they added in the USB 1.1 camera option (At a push you could get a USB 1.1 camera to work n a G3/450Mghz processor as well)
It only works for iChat though. Or rather it is need for iChat as it manipulates the video from the camera into something iChat will accept.
I am not that sure if the current version of Skype will work with an older Camera.
If it does it will still need a Mac Driver for it if you only have USB 1.1 port on your computer.
There are two main Third Party Drivers out there for this (If the camera Manufacturer does not supply a Mac Driver)
    Macam
    and IOXperts
The IOXperts site does list a Firewire Driver for earlier OS versions (As it was not included originally) the OS has Firewire driver form about OS 10.2
They also state on their Site some restriction and workaround are needed for certain apps.
    Summary.
The same info about camera types and Drivers still applies in the broadest sense.
You will not need the iSUBCam thing for Skype.
However I have not used Skype in some while and don't know if they still support USB 1.1 cameras.
    NOTES
In theory as Skype does not produce such good a Video Pic as iChat it uses less processor power to create the Video stream.
However strangely this can have positive effects in lower Spec Machines as they can then produce a coherent Stream rather than something that breaks up due to their Processor not keeping up.
You seem to mention that you have Laptop running Tiger and the specs suggest this is a G4
What is the Mac Mini's processor.
Panther itself is not the limiting factor.
It is Input ports and availability of cameras to suit that.
Any G4 processor is going to let you have one to one chats - subject to the Internet Access at each end (Hotels can be a nightmare).
    For the points

  • Suggestion for a New Keyboard Shortcut

I'd like to suggest a way of increasing the efficiency of editing captions and other metadata in Aperture by adding a keyboard shortcut that always serves to move to the next image in the viewer. For example, Command-Shift-] (or something) to move to the next image in the library. Right now, I think only arrows move to the next image, but that doesn't work if you are editing in a text box, so you have to use the mouse or trackpad.

  • Need hardware suggestions for midi and audio

    hi everyone,
im thinking of getting a new imac and setting up a little recording studio in my room. nothing fancy, just for my own enjoyment.
i've been looking for the best way to plug in my midi keyboard, and microphone/instruments. is a breakout box the best way to go? i won't need to record more than one instrument at a time. is there a box that has one midi input, one instrument input, and maybe an xlr input that will work with imac/garageband? will i need a preamp for this, or will it boost the signal as well?
any recommendations on models are greatly appreciated.

i use the Edirol Audio Capture midi device. it has midi in out ports, audio L(mono) and R in ports, and an audio out port. I use it mainly to play guitar and record it into garage band, but my brother uses a keyboard attatched to it through the midi port and that works fine too. I definetly reccomend it.

  • Suggestions for UMTS usb card in SRP541W-E-K9

    Hello,
I am trying to find out which UMTS USB card/stick I can use for SRP541W-E-K9 here in Germany. My impression is that most of the listed devices in compatibility list are quite old. Does anybody have real life experience with the EU router model and USB sticks from German providers, e.g. Vodafone or T-Mobile?
Any suggestion would be highly appreciated!
    Kind regards,
    Olaf.

Ok, as there is no answer so far, here is what I found:
    - Vodafone UMTS-Stick K3765-HV weiß
It's still available from various distributors, and it corresponds to "K3765" which is listed in the compatibility list. So it should work. I also opened a case with cisco partner help line, let's see what result comes from there :-)

  • Power for my USB keyboard

I tried to plug in a USB powered keyboard to my I Pad 2 and got the msg. "there is not enough power to operate this device" and the keyboard does not have a power supply input or battery compartment. Is there a powered USB input connector that will power this keyboard?

It may  have worked in august 2011. I don't know exactly when the update came out, but the USB USED to put out more power but a 2011 update cut that back.
There are a ton of sites out there citing all the things the USB on the CCK 'will do', but if you look, they're all old articles. It was about the same time that you could no longer plug your iPad into a hub or extender and have it sync right.

  • I need help with hooking up my MIDI USB keyboard to Logic Pro 9

I don;t have much experience with the program and i need to know how to be able to play my Akai LPK25 with the software instrument option.

I'm assuming the Akai came with a manual, I know Logic did, you're going to have to do a little of the work yourself, your question is so vauge that no one knows what you're tried, or if you've even tried anything at all! This is professional software... you HAVE to read manuals...  have you used Garageband?  Have you plugged the Akai in, have you looked in Logic's online help systen to see how to load a software instrument?
Or job is not to hold your hand, this is a user forum, there are people here that will help but you need to to some work on your own.

  • What's a good hardware set up for a solo musician? USB pedal USB keyboard audio interface MIDI interface?

I am new to Main Stage. I have not bought any hardware interfaces yet because I don't know what will be the most flexible in the long run. I would be using the Main Stage's innate synths and keyboards, drums, an acoustic/electric guitar, bass, harmonicas and vocals. What type of hardware would you recommend? MIDI/USB keyboards? MIDI interface? Audio interface? USB pedal board controllers?
Would guys help me with specific suggestions and pointer on how I can make a good choice based on my needs?
    much thanks!
    Fabio.

Then below this is the recording level slider which is all the way to the left or at 0. This is where the problem lies I think as this slider is greyed out and cannot be moved!

  • Need suggestion for USB Bluetooth Adapter for HP Z230 Workstation

I've just purchased an HP Z230 Workstation, with an I7 processor.  I need to equip it with Bluetooth capability so that I can connect the computer to an old Palm Tungsten T2.
There are gobs of USB 4.0 Bluetooth adapters / dongles on the market, but reading buyer's comments, they all seem to have some type of problem with compatibility or installation issues on something.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a USB Bluetooth adapter that has worked well with the Z230?
Thanks in advance for any help.

  • How do you wake up a USB Keyboard plugged into MBP after it goes to sleep?

    Hello folks!
I have a full sized USB (PC) Keyboard (Creative Spectre) plugged into my macbook pro for gaming and the use of the numeric keypad (which I honestly didn't realize I used that much until I didn't have one)...
Anyway... when I first plug it in, everything is fine, but after the computer sits for a while and goes to sleep mode, I come back and have to wake it up.
The funny thing is I can punch spacebar on the USB keyboard to wake up the macbook, but after that no other input is functioning. I have to unplug it and replug it back in for the keyboard to work again.
    Thanks in advance!

Apparently not all usb keyboards are reliable for use on an MBP.
Some posts suggest that those with extra proprietary functions may cause problems. One post suggests that MS usb keyboards operate more reliably than Logitech. Another post suggests that connecting a usb keyboard through a usb hub can cause a problem. These posts all relate to non-Apple usb keyboards.
It would be wise to check with the manufacturer's website whether or not they rate their keyboard fully compatible with a Mac.
The issues seem to be software related as regards the keyboard's firmware/drivers.
Hope this gives some checks for you re compatibility.

  • Usb keyboard not working in windows xp pro sp2 , drivers not installing rig

I just got this mac book pro. Haven't owned a mac sense LC II.
I got a stand for the notebook at www.raindesigninc.com the mstand and I got the $50 aluminum usb keyboard apple sells.
I installed windows xp on a 50 gb partition, put the bootcamp in got all the drivers installed.
Then I got to the office today plugged in my apple keyboard and it was not recognized. I didn't have the bootcamp cds with me at the office.
Are the drivers for the aluminum apple usb keyboard on the bootcamp cd?
I've done some searching on google, and the only solution that i've read is downloading a new version of bootcamp then using a program called transmack to pull the driver out of the bootcamp image file. I hope there is a simpler soution that won't take up so much time.
So do I need to put bootdisk in again to get the drivers for this usb keyboard? Or how can I get this to work as it is now the usb keyboard doesn't work. I had to take the laptop off of the mstand and use its own keypad.

found out i just needed to put in the cd that came with the mac book pro

  • Using USB keyboard with Camera Kit

Is it possible to connect a USB keyboard to my Ipad using the USB camera connector?

This has been discussed here http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2601824&tstart=15
You may be able to find a USB keyboard that will work, but best bet is to use bluetooth. The power requirements are pretty high for the USB keyboards.
