Suggestions for new instruments on GarageBand for iPad

Two ideas my friends and I have been talking about is for the next update for GarageBand should definitely include Smart Brass layed out the same way as Smart Strings with different types of ensembles for jazz, concert, etc. Then the same deal for woodwind instruments. There should also be new drums called Marching Equipment. Snares, tenors, bass drums, and crash cymbals to design your own cadences or with brass, even your own drum corp show. Another idea that is a little more far fetched is to making something for dubstep and bass drops. Just some ideas I hope get seen and produced for the next update.

You need to use this route: GarageBand for iOS Feedback.

How can we suggest a new DBA OCE certification for very large databases?
What web site, or what phone number can we call to suggest creating a VLDB OCE certification.
The largest databases that I have ever worked with barely over 1 Trillion Bytes.
Some people told me that the results of being a DBA totally change when you have a VERY LARGE DATABASE.
I could guess that maybe some of the following topics of how to configure might be on it,
    * Partitioning
    * parallel
    * bigger block size - DSS vs OLTP
    * etc
Where could I send in a recommendation?
    Thanks Roger

I wish there were some details about the OCE data warehousing.
Look at the topics for 1Z0-515. Assume that the 'lightweight' topics will go (like Best Practices) and that there will be more technical topics added.

  • Smart instruments on Garageband for MAC

I know that because Smart Instruments need a touch-sensitive screen, it seems logical not to include them in Garageband for Mac.
However, given that the iPad can become a second, and touch-sensitive, screen for any Mac (for example, via AIRPLAY) can we hope that a future update of Garageband for Mac might think to include Smart Instruments?
How can this suggestion be relayed to the Garageband development team?

  • Can you set up a template for live performance in GarageBand for iPad Air?

II'm trying to set up a template for live performance using GarageBand on my iPad Air. Can anyone advise? Thanks.

QuickTime is AppleScript aware and has its own "dictionary". Many scripts and droplets have already been compiled and you can download them from this link:
    http://www.apple.com/applescript/quicktime/
Some need further editing to update them to version 7 features but it's not difficult using the Script Editor app.
Tiger's new Automator app could also be used but its feature set is rather basic. Newer actions are available for download from the Mac OSX Downloads page.

  • Value not populated for new field - in RSA7 for PI interface in BW

    Hello Experts -
We have 3.5 bw and PI 7.x. we have a PI interface in bw working in production and now we enhanced the interface with a new added field. I mapped the new field in transfer rule/ modified update rules/ods and regenerated the soap datasource in bw. The user has uploaded the file in FTP with this new field added. PI picked the file processed and the value for new field got populated and pushed the data to BW. In RSA7, i dont see the data filled in for this new added field.
Not sure, if i missed any steps, in BW, so that I can populate the value for this field.
    Thanks for any inputs/comments.

    Hi ,

  • Suggestions for new features and improvements for Garageband

    Hi,
I posted this to iCompositions but don't know who would be exposed to it as far as Apple goes. Just thought I would list a sort of wish list for GB that would make a huge difference for me.
Most are just basic interface improvements and changes. Some you may already be able to do and I'm unaware.
    1. A click track option would be nice.
    2. A space to write production notes as in guitar used and pickup used.
    3. A Telecaster and Strat icon for the track icons.
    4. When you duplicate a track it also duplicates the region(s) of the track.
    5. An edit (highlight) button on a region to mark where editing needs to happen. This could be saved for future reference and quick navigation to.
    6. More control over the loop button on tracks. If you want to move it to another section it ***** to get at both ends and drag it to where it needs to be.
    7. Audio Interface volume booster. I don't get the same input from my M-Audio Ozone as I do via input of my guitar through a direct box. Not even close. Maybe it's my interface?
    8. More than one effect(s) on the same track.
    This is my wish list.

    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   PowerPC G5 Dual 2 GHz 1GB SDRAM

First of all, if you want Apple to listen to your suggestions, you better use the feedback forms, since this is a user forum and is very rarely visited by Apple employees.
As for your list: People in this forum have put together a huge wishlist which somehow differs from yours (see this thread, for example). Top of the list are midi export, variable tempo and volume and effect automation.
    As for your no.8:
    8. More than one effect(s) on the same track.
You can have up to 4 effects on each track (plus the not very effective compression slider), 2 of them are restricted to echo and reverb.

  • Benefits Proration for new hires & no proration for terminated

    Hi,
I have a requirement like this:
Whenever an employee enters an organization mid month, his health plans should be prorated. On the other hand if an employee is termianted any time during the month, his health pal amounts shouls not get prorated to the date of his termination, instead they should be processed for the entire month in payroll run.
I have tried with parameter PAR1 in schema(changed to PER and then BEG), but then only one of the cases is working with this change. So can you please help me out? Do you suggest I have a PCR for this? The PCR would look if the employee is hire, then prorate or if he is terminated then do not prorate.
    Thanks
    Sri

    Hi,
There are SAP fixes for this already. Please look in the notes search -
SAP Note 725626 - Savings/ retirement plan not processed in first period
SAP Note 1160806 -PF and Pension contri.for mid-month joining & termin.
There should be something similar for your issue. Please contact SAP Support website and look these up. Its better time spent than re-inventing the wheel again !

  • Anti Virus Software for New iBook - Any Need for it

    Hi,
Is there any real need to buy any Anti Virus software for a new iBook running Tiger.
If so what would be the best software to Buy.

    Hello Simon,
As has been stated there are NO viruses for Mac OS X. None!
Some will say that NO form of protection is required. Some will say that there is a good case for having at least some protection.
There is an interesting article here
No need to spend any money now!

  • "Best" configuration for new Mac Pro used for Aperture?

I'm getting ready to order a new Mac Pro and would like to configure it to optimize Aperture performance.
On CPUs - I have found no benchmarks which show whether Aperture would benefit from 2 quad core processors versus 1. Does anyone know of any benchmarks or have any experience using a single quad core? I don't want to spend $500 on a 2nd processor if Aperture can't use it.
On Graphics cards - I was sold on the GForce 8800, due to it's supposed blazing speed for gaming and it's larger on board memory. However, after reading the following review http://www.barefeats.com/harper10.html , these guys seem to imply that applications such as Aperture actually run faster with the standard Radeon 2600 video card! If anyone has any experience or opinions on this review, I'd love to hear them!
On memory - I know from experience that Aperture will use all of the physical memory you make available to it. I plan on ordering the standard 2GB from Apple, then adding 8GB from 3rd party for total of 10MB.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can only say that when faced with the same decision last month, I went with a 2.8 8-core/8800GT/10gb RAM/library stored on 2nd internal drive setup and am completely satisfied with Aperture's speed. Beyond satisfied, really, borderline thrilled to be honest. No beach balls, perfectly responsive adjustment sliders, smooth and quick scrolling through images (even with Quick Preview mode turned off). Aperture 2 definitely takes advantage of all 8 cores - I have MenuMeters installed and can watch its CPU usage across all 8 cores. Exporting, for example, is fast and uses all cores for background processing.
I have seen a couple small anomalies though...when moving photos around in a light table, I get some odd flashing artifacts on the right side of screen that could be graphics card related. Visually annoying but it doesn't affect performance. I'm also seeing some weird behavior with keywords not appearing in Tooltips and in the Viewer, but it's intermittent and is most likely a software bug and not my hardware setup.

  • IWork for new devices on iOS7 for free - IT WORKS :)

    1. You go to AppStore -> Purchased
    2. In Search box write "iWork" - and turns out that all iWork is for free - in Purchased section

I had the same problem...  missing free iWork apps.   I contacted Apple though the support website, opened a case...  within 24 hours, I had a reply asking for my device serial number - and like magic, I can now download them for free.
Apple is very nice about it, I think they just need to reset a flag on existing customers who bought new devices = then they are free.

  • How do you get your experts with negative stance for new things / innovations to HANA

We have over 50 ABAP developer (senior experts). Primarily we develop in the old core module (SD, MM, FI, CO, HR, PP, CS, IH, PS) on ERP systems / business suite.
We have three groups of developer:
Group 1: They can’t await to work on new architectures – they’re open for all and have fun to work as a pioneer and dig in the deep of the system
Group 2: For this developer it’s all the same – for this people it’s not a problem to go to a other architectures
Group 3: They have no interest
    to work in new architectures
to spend time to learn new things
they are very closed for new things
they have for all topics bad statements
I am part of the group 1. In my opinion in the IT it’s normal to spend much time at new topics in free time to keep up to date. New topics / innovative things make the developer job very exciting. For me it’s regular process – and that’s my own passion .
Since two month we have our own HANA system in our data centre as play field :-) (business suite on SAP HANA). I’ve some colleagues who made the HANA certification – and we made the first steps in our system. For group 1 and group 2 everything is okay and they’ve fun .
We have problems with the group 3. They find every hair in the soup – they spend very much time to search arguments against HANA. That’s our “negative group” . We copied our SAP System to a new system and made a technical migration. Now they compare the SAP System, which is based on an oracle datebase, with the new SAP System which is based on a HANA System. They go through the standard ERP process (offer / order / purchase order / goods movements / delivery / MM invoice / SD invoice / material master data / customer master data / vendor master data / conditions / financial bookings / etc.). They main argument is, that they can’t see a grow up of the performance / the added value of the invest / etc. Our other problem is that the group of this people have experience over 20 years in ABAP developing – and their opinion have a high weight. The other arguments: IBM and oracle are working on similar architectures – and we can hold on on the open sqlsyntax / on the present coding.
Have you similar problems to get the acceptance of group 3?
Have you tips / tricks for us?
Have you ideas for catching the group 3?
What standard components are really optimized for HANA?
In which standard components can we see a really performance grow up?
There are standard use cases to see the differences?
Which data volume do we need in the data model to see the differences?
What can we do to take the group 3 with us?
How can we open the group 3 for innovations?

    Hi,
    Please find my reply below.
    1. Have you similar problems to get the acceptance of group 3?
In IT world we have similar groups. Only results help this group3. I would suggest showcasing on results.
    2. Have you tips / tricks for us?
As you mentioned in your email, you already have HANA System to play with. So I would suggest looking at high performance transactions like MRP run and FICO Month-end Close.
    3. Have you ideas for catching the group 3?
SAP has few use cases. Take-up these use cases build data models and use in ERP.
    4. What standard components are really optimized for HANA?
Recently in our organization we replaced database from DB2 with HANA. Now our SAP ECC is running on HANA. Straight away we have seen 30% of performance improvement in all the transactions. SAP is providing optimized SAP Transactions and there is significant performance improvement and SAP Road Map clearly talks about providing more optimized SAP Transactions on top of HANA to its customers.
We tried to push some of our high performance code to DB layer by creating the Data Models and using those views in SAP ABAP Programs or Transactions. This gave us significant performance improvement.
Please refer to below document. This has list of standard optimized transactions.
    Link
    5. In which standard components can we see a really performance grow up?
This blog throws light on following high performance transactions.
    Link
    6. There are standard use cases to see the differences?
    Use Case
    7. Which data volume do we need in the data model to see the differences?
MRP run transaction has huge performance issue you can work on MRP Run data model.
    8. What can we do to take the group 3 with us?
Only Proof of Concepts (POC) results will help to take this group.
    9. How can we open the group 3 for innovations?
As per your email, I feel group 3 is most demotivated group. I would suggest to talk to each individual and understand there areas of interest and try to put them in their areas of interest. As per my experience this will give good results.

  • Time Machine can't create space for new backups

For a couple of weeks my backups are failing. (Time Machine couldn't complete backup to "Time Machine Backups".  The backup disk needs 156 GB for the backup but only 138 GB are available. Select a larger backup disk or make the backup smaller by excluding files.) I thought Time Machine was supposed to delete the oldest backups to make room for new ones?  Thanks for your help.

It will delete the oldest backups, but when you have already deleted all of those, there will come a time when you will just run out of space.
