Suggestions I am use too movie maker want to make talking pets for business

I am considering buying CS4 for promoting my small business.
I want to make viral video's with talking pets and am overwhelmed with the tech talk about CS4.
I was hoping I could get some advice as how to do this, so I can try it before I buy it as my business budget is very low.
I also could use some tips on creative ways I can easily make better videos with cs4.

To be able to use documents at iCloud.com, you need at least one iOS device that uses the same account with at least one of the iWork apps installed.

Currently, this has created a mess of duplicate contacts. Please advise me on the steps necessary for removing these duplicates and establishing a syncing solution that doesn't regenerate the duplicates. There are several applications available that remove duplicates, but I am not sure which ones work or don't work. I want information on this, but most importantly I want to understand how to fix this problem permanently. Also, I read somewhere that Mac's new operating system, Lion, can help deal with duplicates. I don't have Lion, but I would be willing to get it, if this would fix the problem.

Had the same problem with 4 devices (two computers, an iPhone and an iPod). The solution is simple: open the Address Book application in your mac, ask it to locate duplicate entries (under one of the top menu items, "edit" I think), and then ask it to consolidate them: it took me all of three seconds after I figured it out: worked like a charm! PS: if you have more than one mac with unconected Address Books, repeating the operation in the second one may be a good idea.

I cannot use Windows Movie Maker in Parallels on my iMAC

Hello, I run Windows 7 on my iMAC via Parallells without any problems normally. It works e.g. fine to run the Windows Office programs. But I run into problems when I try to run Windows Movie Maker.
I get the instruction to run dxdiag.exe to verify my DDI-version.
And then I get the following message from Windows:
'"The file prl_umdd.dll is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft Windows
Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You can maybe get a WHQL-signed file from the hardware supplyer."
Is this a wellknown problem among mac-users who run Windows via Parallels?
Any suggestion what I should do?

I am trying to make a home movie and add itunes but it doesn't want to accept the m4 file type. I downloaded something I thought would help but no luck. I am using windows movie maker and need music. How do I convert my purchased music into a usable file?

My movie program wont recognize the itunes format .m4a. Any suggestions? I downloaded a program to help convert it but didn't work.

In iTunes 11 uncheck the preferences setting in in the iTunes Preferences panel "Advanced > Copy Files to iTunes Media folder when adding to Library"

Exporting using Quicktime Movie makes my sequence unrendered.

This is really strange, but when I export my sequence my sequence becomes unrendered during and after the process. It was fully rendered before the export.
Any ideas? Lately, the more I use FCS the more I want to revert to an older version.

No ideas other than - how did you install your current version?
Given your other posts here, it sounds like you have a host of issues.
If you did not do a clean erase and install of the System and apps from scratch, it may be time to do so.

I use iBookAuthor to make a textbook for my students; I revised it, including title page, but when I export it and upload it to my iPad, the old title page appears, even though I've deleted the older version of the text before I upload the new one.

Last year I produced a textbook using iBookAuthor for my students. I exported it as an iBook and they uploaded it to their iPads. This year, I revised it, including revising the title page. However, when I upload the new version, the old title page is shown, not the new one. I deleted the older version of the textbook before I did this. I've been told that I can cut and paste each revised chapter into a new template and that will work; however, title page and glossary can't be cut and pasted. Any thoughts for getting the entire new version on the iPad? I'm also told that if it is uploaded to an iPad that never had a previous version of this textbook, it will upload correctly. But my iPad has had several older versions, now deleted.

I had a similar issue when trying to create an iBook file to submit for course credit for one of the Apple Learning Essentials classes I took. I had a book I'd started previously which I updated and submitted, and then had to make some edits to for the course evaluator. I made the edits, and when I previewed the book in iBooks Author, it looked correct, but whatever I sent to him only showed some of the edits - for example a new page I created was there, but some edits I made to image captions and the title page image were not.
What worked for me was to do a "Save as" of the actual Author file to a totally new location (I used the Desktop), and then submit that file - which seemed to work in terms of the changes sticking. I even used the same file name.
I'm not sure if some similar action might help you (maybe change the file name slightly?) or if you've already tried something like this.
Still doesn't change the fact that this is a pretty irritating bug.

Using mingw to make a .dll for use in labview ?

I have seen some posts on this, but none of them take it all the way from C code to configuring the shared library node...

Its meant to be as bare bones as I can get it. No crazy pointers or anything.
I compile as follows usin MinGW:
g++ -c -DBUILD_DLL DLL_Test.c
g++ -shared -o tst.dll -Wl,--out-implib,libtstdll.a DLL_Test.o
And it appears to compile fine.
When I go to import the .dll into the shared library node the "Function Name" field is garbled and says "Z7tstfunciii" instead of "tstfunc". Needless to say the shared library function icon that results doesnt work

You should tell the mingw compiler to not name mangle the symbols. Most likely you use a cpp file enxtension and then mingw as Visual C will invoke the cpp compiler instead of c which by default name mangles function names.
If you want or need to use cpp, you can also try to declare your exported symbols like this:

/* all the other function prototypes you do not want to be mangled */
#ifdef __cplusplus
#endif
Not sure if __cplusplus is defined by mingw, if not you have to find how it indicates that C++ mode has been invoked.

Can I use Encore to make a menu for PDF files?

I'm looking for software that allows interactive menus to categorize/display about 200 PDF files. I've heard Encore will let you make menus for DVDs with submenus, etc., but will it work for non-video subject matter? It is to be produced on a CD/DVD and used as a fundraiser for a nonprofit. Thanks!

Your problem is going to be getting a pdf onto a static menu or a still for a slide - and still be readable. Is playback going to be on computer or TV?
In photoshop, copy a pdf into an Encore menu (as the background) See if it looks okay.
I suspect that your fantasy is that the user "opens" the pdf and it acts like a pdf does in reader, you can scroll, etc. That just won't work.

A colleague of me is working with a Window PC. He make a powerpoint presentation which contain graphic.
He sent it to another colleague who work with a Mac and Office 2011 for Mac. He can open the file, bur some sientific caratere are "damaged".
However, if he open the same file with Office 2008 for mac, it's work.
Do you have an idea how to make the Office 2011 for make able to read sientific caratere from a powerpoit file which come from the Window powerpoint?
Is there a plugin for that?

if you purchased or registered with adobe, check your account, Adobe ID
p.s. you are allowed up to two concurrent installations/activations with a single user license so you probably don't need to remove acrobat from your other computer.

IMovie HD to Windows Movie Maker

I have some movie clips in iMovie HD 5.0.2 (currently unconverted) - what's the best way to get them into a format the Windows Movie Maker can read, as it seems that none of the formats under "Expert" are supported by WMM.
Is there any (ideally free) conversion software available for OSX 10.4 PPC that can do this?
Unfortunately, it's not an option to not use Windows Movie Maker.

SORRY THIS WAS - Backward info - from .avi/.wmv to streamingDV -
may be the way is reversible.
Just cutting and pasting from old doc (to explain strange formulations).
.avi:
You can use MPEG-Streamclip to convert the AVI files so that QuickTime can play them
and to streamingDV for iMovie.
.wmv:
iMovie is by concept meant to work with miniDV camcorders.. any other 'imports' need a conversion or are not supported... a quick solution would be purchasing a plug-in from www.flip4mac.com, 49$, which allows the conversion of .wmv (a PC format) into something useful for iM (dv-stream) ...
or, ask the emailer to send it in some other codec .. mpg4 for example .. which will be converted by iM 'out-of-the-box' ... and, to work with iM, the video should fulfill a few standards .. 720x480 pixel resolution, 30 frames per second ... otherwise, you will experience a dramatic loss of quality ..
