Suggestions on how to get imovie back on my powerpc macmini
went to upgrade to ilife 08 on my powerpc macmini, all went well except imovie 08 will not work. fine. yesterday my leopard install failed and i had to reinstall leopard using a clean and install. when i was done, no ilife on the macmini. go to install ilife 08, can't install imovie 08 of course, where do i get imovie6?
You could bring it back from your backup disc ..surely you made a backup before doing any kind of system installation, er, didn't you..?
Or you could extract it from your Mac mini's original installation discs, or from your copy of 'iLife 06' if that's where you originally got iMovie HD 6.
(..It's almost always better to do an 'Archive and Install' instead of a clean install, as an 'Archive' keeps all your user settings, mailbox settings - and all the mail you've received - all your photos, movies and programs ..whereas a clean install will wipe some of those, or make them difficult to find.)

If you are certain that iCal is no longer present on your computer...
To reinstall iCal:
1. Insert the Leopard Installation disk into the computer.
2. The disk will appear on the desktop.
3. Double click on the "Optional Installs" folder.
4. Double click on the "Optional Installs.mpkg."
5. Click on (Continue) in Introduction.
6. Click on (Continue) in Software License Agreement.
7. Click on (Agree) to agree to the terms of the software license agreement.
8. Click on the disclosure arrow ▶ next to Applications.
9. Select (✓) iCal.
10. Click (Continue).
11. After iCal has been reinstalled, download and install the Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update to bring iCal up to the most recent version. -
Hi, the App Store icon has been removed from my iPad even after synching and updating. Any suggestions on how to get it back to be able to update / purchase apps?
If you do not have, or remember, the passcode for Restrictions, the only option available to you is to reset the device to factory settings via itunes.

Hard disk died--how to get iMovie back?
My hard disk died a year ago, and I lost all the contents of my hard drive, including iMovie. How can I get it back, short of purchasing iLife? I don't seem to have an iMovie software CD to replace the program.

PowerBookG4If you have 10.2, iMovie is on the second OS X disk in the Additional Applications package. Just double click to run the installer and it will install iMovie 2. It will not touch later versions of iMovie, iPhoto etc that you already have.
You may (if you wish) also need to download a program called Pacifist, from here

Your phone still thinks it is plugged into the stereo. I don't remember how to solve this but perhaps you can search through the forum or maybe one of the members here will jump in on how to switch the playback to speakers.

We just installed maverick and the new final cut. On 2 separate computers we have had it crash while using final cut and have lost the project. Now we are reading that our time machine is not working with maverick. Any suggestions on how to get timeline back from the new final cut? Thought it was suppose to save automatically.

I'm using a mid 2014 13" rmbp. I reinstall the Yosemite due to the wifi issue, when finished, the iMovie was not installed, I try to download it from app store, but it's not free. How can I get iMovie back?
It's something to do with the main user account (not iTunes account) on my Mac because I logged in with another account and it downloaded fine, I installed it on the HDD and even though the date in App Store was 16th October 2014, it is the full installer of 10.10.2.
To try to resolve this problem, I have copied the installer app elsewhere and deleted it but App Store still will not allow me to download it with my main user account yet just allowed me to update iTunes.
I had a brainwave last night that it might have been related to me changing the default downloads folder to one not on my boot drive (to save disk space on my main boot drive) but having changed it back, tried again, rebooted and tried yet again, deleted my App Store preferences. nothing has worked. -

I've lost a load of notes, but dont know why or how to get them back. I cant find the folder that is in my Yahoo account that people have suggested might be the location for the messages. I recently signed into iCloud for the first time. Any idea how to get the notes back? I really dont want to lose them.
It should keep asking for the password, because it's trying to check for purchases... As soon as you login, it will see you have pending downloads and create the downloads section on the left below Purchases under the Store section. Then it will start the music downloads there, as they will be listed one below the other.
You could just try to check your account balance or view your account and that will trigger a password request too. You can just click on that and say that now iTunes keeps asking for the password and ask him to help you with that. Trick would be to interrupt him so that he carries on with another task after, so he doesn't notice the download. Or you carry on with email or browsing which you were "busy" with when iTunes interrupted you for the password (stupid iTunes) -

If you mean you accidentally removed the icon for iMovie from the Dock (the array of icons at the bottom of the window), you can add it back easily.
Open the Applications folder (if you open it from the Dock you may then need to click the Open in Finder icon), locate the iMovie program.
Drag the icon for iMovie down to the Dock, somewhere between the icon for Finder and the dashed line toward the right.
Wait for the icons at that spot to move aside, then drop it in. -
I had the Siri app before it was added to all iphones and when Apple added it mine quit working. I deleted mine from my phone but do not see how to get it back. any suggestions?

It does seem rather odd that an app that was acquired thru itunes would quit working once it was incorporated into the device for all users. oh well it was probably free or $.99 when I downloaded it.
I would think that they were just testing it to see how many people would use it. But you might want to write a polite letter to Apple requesting a credit for the purchase price of the no longer supported app. That seems to be the least they could for one of their 'alpha testers'. -

aliceiMovie is part of the iLife suite of programs.
If you have 10.7 or 10.8 when the machine was purchased, just log into AppStore and accept the iLife for that machine and reinstall it all, it will replace iMove.
If you have 10.6 originally came on the machine, look on your second set of disks, there is a bundled installer that should put it back on, then Software Update fully to bring it current.
If you originally had 10.5 on the machine, stick the disk in and try to run the bundled installer, or use Pacifist from CharlesSoft to extract the program and then Software Update fully.
