Suit refuses to send SMS to a "invalid recipient"

Sometimes the PC Suit for my Nokia 95 *MB refuses to send text messages to some numbers, for example a number in Israel. The Eerror message says "Recipient (number" is not valid. Can not send message." Who knows what is going on??? The number IS VALID! I called it and it works.

A workaround:
You can export the contacts as a .csv file and manually copy->replace the invalid character->insert a column as the valid numbers. Then you can import the .csv file into pc suite. When sending SMS, you can choose the "valid" number.
Still quite a lot numbers, but with a decent text editor, it's much easier than editing contacts one by one.

I suspect that you are using the Forwarding option within Workgroup Manager, and this works outside of the postfix alias scheme. I think you should just set those users you are forwarding to, to normal mail users, and put their forwarding rules ALSO in the alias file, so you would have:
MAILER-DAEMON: postmaster
postmaster: alex,yong
alex: [email protected]
That should do it. You really have to commit to either using Workgroup Manager or Postfix in their entirety. They don't really work too nicely in conjunction with each other.

Messages on iPhone 6 won't send SMS

Both my wife and I have iPhone 6. We only use the cellular network occasionally - it is rarely turned on. We both use our home and work wifi networks.
I have had to turn off iMessage on my phone, because I have friends who have switched to that other mobile OS, and they are not interested in telling Apple about it (as one must do to unregister from iMessage).
My phone now refuses to send SMS to my wife - my phone insists that she can only get blue iMessages. I cannot find any way to turn the "Send" button green.
Anyone got any ideas?

Hmmmmm, that does not make any logical sense.
If I understand correctly, you send a text only message to contact A and it sends fine
If you send a message containing a picture to contact A it shows as delivered but never appears on their device?
Has this been tried with multiple contacts?
Does basic MMS work?
Any difference if your are connected to Wi-Fi? Cellular data?

Cannot send sms using pc suite Ver 7

Hi - i have updated to pc suite version 7 - every time i send an sms it says message failed. Everything else is working fine - it seems pc suite will not pick up any of my message folders. Can anyone help please??? I am using the sirocco 8800

Error while sending SMS

Hi ,
I have done the setup for SMPP Driver properties.
We have a clickatell account and registered the server IP with them.
I am getting the following error while running the BPEL process to send SMS. Please help.
Error while sending notification to 'sms:919876543210; 7074de6c8d92005d036d07190f170cb5'.
Possible causes : SDPMessaging Driver not configured; Invalid To Address is used; Email server/Messaging gateway is down; using IP address as part of email ID instead of domain name;.

Contact not selected when sending SMS

Hello,
I am using PC Suite 7.0.8.2 on WinXP Sp3 (standard user or admin: no difference); Nokia 6080; connection: USB.
Evereything seems to be ok but I have problems when composing/sending sms:
if I key in the phone number my sms is sent;
but if I choose a contact name the phone number is not displayed (I just see a semicolon and the sms is not sent (but I do not receive any error message). The same happens if I choose a contect in Contacts and then clic on "Send sms to this contact"
I have tried to uninstall and install PC Suite again, but the problem is not solved
Any idea?

ACTIVATING FACETIME AND IMESSAGES
Activating Facetime and Imessages on your phone requires the ability to send SMS messages and depending upon where you are that might be an international SMS. Check with your carrier to see if your plan supports sending of international SMS messages. If you are having trouble activating Facetime or Imessages turn them both off on your device and reset the device (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost)). Wait for the device to restart and wait a minute and turn Facetime and imessage back on and wait for activation. If that does not fix things read the following articles:

Exceptions in sending SMS via SMPP

i want to develop an application which is capable of sending & receiving SMSs using SMPP,
i ve downloadd an application, it bound successfully with SMSC,
when i try to send SMS it gives a nullpointer exception,
i am new to SMPP programming, i stil cud not figure it out
is there anything wrong with the request,
if anyone can help pls advise,

Sending SMS on Win Mobile 5.0

I am relatively new to J2Me and would like some help on sending SMS using a PDA. I have been trying to create a program (using WMA) which should enable me to send an sms via my PDA (O2 Zinc). Although there are no errors to the program, it simply refuse to send the SMS out.
A portion of the codes is found below:

I added in the jLabel text change to see which are the lines being executed. And it was found that the codes after {color:#ff0000}
MessageConnection conn = (MessageConnection) Connector.open(addr); {color:#000000}was never executed.
I must apologise i kinda s.u.c.k in using exception but i try to add this in and it caught the connection not found exception.

Nokia N95 not able to send sms.

My nokia N95 is unable to send sms messages. The screen is saying "general memory is full, close some applications and try again". Have deleted all messages from inbox, outbox, photos, etc. But is still not able to send. I am able to recieve sms and calls. Don't understand where to find 'general memory'??? Can anyone help me please?? It has been like this for a week. Thanks

Check in File Manager where your phone thinks memory is being taken up (Options>Memory details) - this will tell you if you have large amounts of memory taken up by thing which can be moved to memory card (such as photos, videos, music files etc.)
If this is not the case, make a backup of your personal stuff (contacts, messages etc.) using PC Suite, leaving out anything that you don't need and also leaving out settings; then reformat your phone with the code *#7370# - the phone will ask you for confirm, then enter the lock code (12345 if you haven't changed it from standard) then shut down and restart - you should be able to send again after this. You can then restore your personal datat to the phone.

Unable to place voice calls or send SMS when Messa...

The phone is a T-Mobile branded N95 with FW 14.0.0.1. I installed the Nokia Messaging client from the web site email.nokia.com, about 1 week ago.
If the messaging client is active (in the foreground, or in the background, or synchronisation turned on), my phone will refuse place calls after a while. It will also refuse to send an SMS at that point. Exiting the messaging client (completely, turning off synchronisation) will solve the problem, but the entire point of push-mail is to receive mail at any time.
The error that occurs during call setup (voice call) is "Verbindungsfehler", meaning "Connection Error". The messaging client continues to work fine in the background.

I would speculate that there is a bug in the FW. I was able to reproduce the problem by leaving the browser online for a while.
Since I received no help what-so-ever from T-Mobile or Nokia, I decided to change the product code to a generic Europe-1 and install the real latest firmware (31.something). That firmware seems to have resolved the problems I was seeing.

Send SMS from excel (VBA)

I need help to find a solution that always works to my current problem:
Using Excel 2007 VBA I need to send a similar text message to say 50-100 people using Nokia PC suite. Has anyone found a way of doing this?
I have found a way of opening and then initially controlling PC Suite in VBA by using sendkeys, however it always falls over at some point as it loops through all the staff.
Scenario is simple - I have built a rota for where I work. Each employee receives an email with their rota in it for the coming week; I also want to send a short text message to each employee telling them that their rota is in their email inbox and details of their next shift.
So, the VBA code loops through each staff member, customises the text message contents but always falls over for no apparent part way through the loop. I have succeeded in getting it to work for 5 people, but it falls over when it gets into double figures.
I could get it to send bundles of 5 but there must be an easier way; someone must have tried doing what i'm doing and succeded!

Windows Phone - To be able to send sms through Nok...

I would love to use a Lumia and to be able to send sms through Nokia Suite by connecting bthrough usb cable and also by bluetooth.
I connect my Nokia Belle phones almost every day by bluetooth and send sms.
The freedom to do that is long implemented i my daily life and the reason is plain simple;
while surfing on the pc, checking business stuff, writing messages or whatever and not have to pick up the phone is such easy task, not to mention how easy it is too use the keyboard of the pc and the speed and accuracy of writing...people who like me have done this for years,
surely will miss this feature or whatever you want to call it.
Implement it, just do it. Please...

Trouble in sending sms from E50

I m using Nokia E50. Some sort of driver or software problem occured due to which i cant send sms. Whenever try to send it automaticaly gets on resend time and then after couple of tries failed. Every other function is working properly. I m receiving sms, receiving calls, making calls, using GPRS also and using softwares. But only cant send sms. Few folders also changed there icons and now looks as a simple folder icon.
What possible caused it and what next i should do?

back up all your data via pc suite if possible. yes you can try to troubleshoot on your own first.
take out your sim card and put in *#7780# to restore factory settings. you should not lose any data, but all settings will go into default. try that first.
the second option is a reset *#7730# this one will erase all of your data, 'wipe the phone clean' and restore to factory settings. see if any of these options work and if you are able to use your phone as you like/need to.
also check if your firmware is up to date via Nokia software updater. if you don't already have it, you can download it from Nokia site.

8350i Nextel can send sms but will only recieve mms

I have a Blackberry 8350i with OS 5.0.0.1051 installed.
I can send and receive MMS messages with no problem.
I can send SMS messages with no problem, but when I get the reply it comes as an MMS.
I don't know what to do.

Do you have many sms in your phone?if so DELETE your inbox and sent folders or back them up on ovi suite.

On my Windows PC I frequently use Nokia PC Suite to send SMS messages by linking to my old Nokia 6230i using bluetooth. So much quicker to type using a keyboard.
Having now bought an Android tablet I've been looking for an app that would let me do the same, again using bluetooth to connect to the Nokia 6230i to send the SMS. But I've not found one.
I've search this forum for someone looking for a similar solution and also searched the google play, again without luck.
If anyone knows a solution then I love to hear about it.

Hi, Alan_UK2. The PC suite can only be downloaded only your PC. Since this is a third-party OS, you may check if they have an available application for your tablet that has the feature you are looking for.
