Suitcase Fusion is causing crash - won't recognize OS and apps

I have been trying to set up Suitcase Fusion on my system. Seemed to go well until it crashed after I was removing fonts from my OS X and OS 9 system fonts folder. Now the OS - and the apps - won't launch upon restart. I am only getting a flashing "Finder" bar menu, a blank screen, and 2 messages stating that Fusion and Bug Reporter have quit. And a "beach ball of death". Have tried restarting 5 times... How do I get back up and running? Any thoughts? In a time crunch on a graphics project... Thanks.

If you removed Lucida Grande from OS X /System/Library/Fonts/ folder, then you've made a very big boo-boo. That is the one font for OS X which can never be removed for any reason. Read my article Font Management in Mac OS X Tiger and Panther. Towards the bottom in the Font 911 section, it explains a couple of ways to get that critical font back on your Mac without having to reinstall the entire OS from the original disks.

If your computer's iTunes isnt recognising the iPad when you connect it then have you got a recent version of iTunes installed on your computer ? There are also troubleshooting pages for a device not showing in iTunes on these pages :

Try re-indexing Spotlight.

If worse comes to worse, and it is in your Purchases tab, delete 1.0.3 and download it again. You might need to do Spotlight again.

InDesign CS5 Mac & Suitcase Fusion 3.0 - Crashing when exporting PDFs

Hi there, experts in InDesign
I work as a professional graphic designer on a mac with inDesign. I make my living with exporting highres PDF files and sending them to the printers.
When I activate Extensis Suitcase fusion plug-ins, inDesign constantly crashes when I try to save PDFs. No matter how many pages, no matter how many fonts activated or used in the document.
Extensis support ist not really helpfull. After weeks of insisting, I have somebody who says, he's trying to take care. No solutions found yet.
The only thing is, to deactivate the plugins and switch fonts on or off manualy.
Anyone made the same frustrating experiences?
Anyone who knows, what causes the troubles?
Any hint is appreciated very much

Itunes won't recognize ipod and videos gone

I have a 30GB Video Ipod and itunes won't recognize it. I have to keep putting the music files back in and converting them. Also the Movie and TV Shows I bought disappeared. I have a Windows XP Home Edition, and itunes 7. I downloaded itunes about 4 or 5 months ago, it that helps. My ipod shows up in my computer though. I want to know:
1. How can I get itunes to recognize my ipod
2. How do I get itunes to keep and remember my files
3. How do I get my videos back?
4. Which version of itunes should I get and how do I get it?

Flash drive somehow corrupt. Finder won't recognize it and Disk Utility won't repair it

I have a 16 GB SanDisk Cruzer flash drive. Somehow, and I haven't figured it out yet, but is got corrupted and Finder won't recognize anymore. So I opened Disk Utility and verified the disk and it said that it needed to be repaired. So I tried it and I got the message saying "Disk Erase failed with the error: File system formatter failed." And when I try to reformat it, I get the same message. I've tried it with a PC as well but it doesn't show up and Disk Manager won't reformat it either. I've given up on recovering the files, but I still would like to recover the drive. Any solutions would be appreciated.

You may need to rebuild permissions on your user account. To do this,boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type: ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.

Updated 2.2.1 - Now iTunes won't recognize iPhone (and iPhone won't work)

I had this happen last time I did an update too, but that was fixed by going into my control panel and starting my apple mobile device - I checked and this time all is running. I can't use my iPhone and iTunes won't show it's connected even though it is (so can't restore, etc. since it won't recognize the device). I've tried closing out of iTunes and re-connecting the phone - nothing. I'm on PC using 2003 Microsoft software.

Apple creates Drivers but WINDOWS won't recognize them and doesn't let me install W7

Hi dear Mac users,
Boot Camp Assistant creates my drivers for me and I can place them either in a CD or a USB Disk.
I start W7 installation and it ask me for MAC drivers, even thought I browse drivers location W7 won't recognize them.
So i checked, most of the drivers are .exe, but W7 asks for the drivers long before the installation.
(I have W7 Home Premium)
So either I'm really really dumb or there's something wrong,

Is it asking for Mac Boot Camp drivers OR is it a generic Windows error asking for CD/DVD drivers?
If it's asking for CD/DVD drivers then it seems there is an issue with burning a W7 .iso, etc, images onto a disk on the Mac side. The W7 installer has the basic drivers already for everything so it can start up on any machine, for some reason that part of the iso gets buggered up when burning a disk. (or maybe gets corrupted when downloaded?). It seems to work best at x1 or x2 speeds and you may have to try other brands of disks. If you know anyone with a Windows machine you can try that.
Do a search for burning Windows 7 iso or something like that as there are quite a few post's about it.

10g won't recognize ellipsis and other special characters.

I'm trying to insert data into both VARCHAR2 and CLOB columns that contains characters such as ellipsis and other special characters. Oracle doesn't recognize the characters and just converts it to garbage. Is there a way to make Oracle easily recognize these characters?
For example, it won't recognize the following ellipsis in the string:
"Here we are … right now."

My bad...I did look at the national character set instead.
When I performed theq query you posted, I got the following:

Computer won't recognize ipod and ipod flases foler with exclamation point

Last week, my computer randomly said it did not recognize my ipod. I continued to use it and figured I'd worry about updating it another time. Then today, I was using my nano and it stopped and flashed the folder with the exclamation point icon and below the icon directed my to Apple's support website. I've tried most of the things I've seen in the forums, and I really have no clue what to do. Everytime I try to turn it on, the icon comes up and everytime I try to connect to iTunes my computer won't recognize it.

Computer won't recognize iPod and iPod is frozen

Just pulled my iPod out of it's case. When I went to install the software, the computer won't recognize the iPod Nano. I've tried all 6 USB ports. Computer states:
"One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it."
Now the iPod has locked up, won't change screens or makes any sounds. I've gone through the help guide, but toggling the hold button doesn't help either.

I had the same problem with mine! I took it out of the box and it was working just fine, but as soon as I plugged it into the computer, the screen froze and the computer reported the exact same error message. I've tried resetting it, but none of the buttons work now, and I even tried restoring it, but the computer doesn't even recognize that it's an ipod nano. I'm starting to wonder if I need to just replace it.
