Suite product activation not working with Acrobat

I'm a Creative Cloud subscriber and use a number of the applications without problem. But everytime I try to open a PDF with Acrobat, I get a message saying that my suite product activatio is not complete, and that I need to open another application, such as Photoshop, to complete the activation. I've tried opening a number of the applications, but the error message doesn't go away. Any ideas how I can fix this? Thanks!

Scanning not working with Acrobat Pro X or Photoshop?

My Epson Perfection V350 scanner is listed as a supported scanner on Apple's site.
After installing the latest versions of Acrobat Pro X and Photoshop Extended, the scanner is not available to either app. After several useless exchanges with Adobe online support, I called phone support tonight. I was told that neither Acrobat nor Photoshop support scanning in Mountain Lion and I should use Apple's Image Capture. If that is true it should be considered a catastrophe by Apple, Adobe, and Mac users. I tried installing the latest Photoshop TWAIN driver with not luck. I updated to Mountain Lion because scanning wasn't working in Lion. Appalling.
I have Epson driver 8.0 installed. It is all I can find. If anyone knows of something more recent, or a workaround for this nasty problem, I'm all eyes.
Acrobat Pro X is 10.1.4 and Photoshop Extended is 13.0.1

Is there any part of your version of Photoshop 64 bit? The Epson TWAIN driver is only 32 bit, so that may be the difference. You mentioned in your first post that you installed the latest Photoshop TWAIN driver. I wonder if that is the problem. Is there a way you can go back to an earlier version of that part of Photoshop? I am not familiar with Photoshop.

That is a load of hooey: Software Update installs nothing for the scanner. And it doesn't supply the requisite Epson Scan Utility.
I am well aware of how Epson's pages are laid out. That is why I gave you the direct download link. The ICA drivers are for Image Capture. They do not use the TWAIN technology. When you are on EPSON's site, you have to override the browser sniffer and say that you are using OS X 10.6. Then you will see the Epson Scan software. Much easier just to give you a direct download link from their ftp server.
And yes, the ICA drivers probably were already installed with Mountain Lion. I think a universal ICA driver is supplied as part of ML for Canon and EPSON scanners. You can check by looking in the /Library/Image Capture/Devices folder for the EPSON ICA driver. You will find the TWAIN driver you just installed at /Library/Image Capture TWAIN Data Sources.

GetAVDoc() is not working with Acrobat 9

I am using GetAVDoc() with acrobat 9 to get the current open PDf, but this method is not return the current open pdf object, by which i read the PDF data.But this is working fine with Acrobat 8.

Acrobat Pro X serial not working with Acrobat Pro XI

I have a serial for Acrobat Pro X which I've been using for quite some time. After formatting my PC, I'm now trying to install Acrobat Pro on my new system but it seems that my serial "is not valid for Acrobat Pro XI".
I'd be happy if I could install Pro X, but it's nowhere to be found on the internet.
Let me get this straight: I can't reinstall a program I ALREADY BOUGHT when I remove it from my system. Nice.
Help me out here please.

Destinations from an HTML file not working with Acrobat XI

When the link is executed in Acrobat X it opens to the correct destination. When opened with Acrobat XI it doesn't. In fact, when I open the PDF (created with Acrobat Pro X) with Acrobat Pro XI I don't see any destinations... I don't see where to view them if they do exist. I already tried disabling the protected settings in XI and that didn't work. What happens is a dialog for downloading the PDF opens and your only choice is opening the PDF to the first page (instead of the destination). This is also happening on all browsers... so I am suspecting something buried in the Control Panel. Please help.

Thank you but this doesn't help... I know where the destination pane is... that's how I created them... Acrobat XI is not showing the destinations but the issue is Acrobat XI opening a download dialog instead of following the destination. I think it's an application or Windows issue but I don't see it...

Why the Apple products does not work with Adobe flash player?

Could be better if the Apple products work with Adobe Flash Player, I know that Steve does not like to work with them, but I think will be necessary soon.

Further comments on what is the case on Android devices is irrelevant. OCR not working with Acrobat Pro X

I have Acrobat Pro X ver 10.1.9 using Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) OS running in a virtual environment (Parallels ver 9.0) on a MacBook Pro. I have 16 GB of System Memory and 6 CPU's dedicated to the virtual environment. For some reason: 1. I cannot select renderable text with my cursor in a pdf containing such (i just see the cursor turn to a hand symbol as if to use the cursor to move the image around; and 2. I can run Acrobat's OCR on a recently scanned pdf but once again I cannot select the text (same hand symbol appears). I went to Control Panel - Programs and selected "Repair" the Acrobat program but this was no help. What I don't understand is prior to installing my Acrobat Pro X program on this computer I had it installed on a PC running Windows 7 Pro (32 bit) and everything worked fine. Any ideas? WR
02/10/14 Update: Spoke with Adobe Tech Support and they informed me the problem I am having with the windows version of Acrobat Pro X above is caused by running the program in the Parallels virtual environment on a Mac. This is odd as the purpose of running Parallels on the Mac is so that one can operate the Windows OS and programs on a Mac. They suggested I purchase the Pro XI version for Mac.

IT WORKS!!! Hey thanks dodland, now all I have to do is get my CS6 MC installer to take less than X hours to install just a version of Acrobat X that will recognize my MC serial number! I installed a version of Acrobat 10 from the MC extracted files and ran it as a trial, no go on the OCR. Then I did your copy suggestion and all is well. I've copied this fix as a text file to live with my MC install files. Now I just have to get a activated version running.
Thanks again, as I was considering wiping the entire drive just to fix this single issue and that would not be fun...

Sheet Feeder not working with Acrobat under Win7 or Vista

I have a Visioneer 9450 scanner. The TWAIN driver works fine under Windows XP, but I cannot get it to operate under Vista, WIN 7 (32 or 64 bit). It will only operate under the WIA driver but not TWAIN. The sheet feeder freezes with the TWAIN driver under all but Win XP. I have the appropriate company drivers loaded for each OP, so that does not seem to be the problem.
I am using Adobe Acrobat 9.
Any solutions would be greatly appreciated!

For the Windows 7 box.
You will need to be in Acrobat 9.2 at a minimum.
You may need to update the Visioneer 9450 drivers.

At this link's Visioneer 9450 support page, there does not appear to be driver(s) support for Windows 7.

Have read these pages a LOT and thanx for lots of these tips, incl the following:
Uninstall 6.6 - load Nokia Clean Up - reinstall 6.7 (from website, don't d/load from a disc)
Did that and successfully got a connection.

Went into PC Suite and that'z when the 'fun' started...
TRANSFER MUSIC (Nokia Audio Manager)
Tried 'Music Studio' - 'Search' - got myself a list of music up ok - clicked on one - then nothing. The 'Transfer to phone' button wasn't hi lited.
ok...tried 'Cd Player' - it says 'Add to Music Studio then to Fone' which I spose wasn't worth doin as the Music Studio didn't work in the first place, but still I tried it ....
Stuck a cd in the drive and a list showed - again I clicked on a track but how do you transfer to the 'Music Studio?'
But as I say the MS didn't work anyway ...
Right - VIEW MULTIMEDIA - 'Play and convert' files -
opened a file - (audio or video) - (tried an 'audio,' thought it may work this way) - but it didn't.
Tried a 'video' - found that a .wmv cldn't be 'saved & converted' so ok, I tried a .avi, which could - again where to save it to, as there was 'no transfer to fone' option - so I opened 'Nokia Phone Browser' - saw my 62301 sitting in there and clicked on him - but that superb message 'The operation could not be completed' loomed up once again - I get that all the time - when I ran clean up, it should've apparently ridded that errot cos it told me it would!!!
On to FILE MANAGER - Transfer files btwn phone & pc) - again when I clicked on Nokia Phone Browser' none of the folders on my phone showed up (ie) gallery etc... - why don't they show?
I just don't know where to turn - am so disappointed and really tired tryin to sort this out all on my own.
Have forked out for 2 cables to try with 2 fones and
'simonpaulk' suggested binning the PC Suite and using a dongle - how wld that be better tho? Does he mean that with a dongle u don't need PC Suite, but do with a cable?

Hi manta - when I plugged in my fone (again), the message it asks me is 'use fone as data storage device?' - so I clicked 'reject' instead of 'accept' (which is wot I've chosen b4), but still doesn't work - sister_bliss has also been tryin to help - she suggested typing in that 'Regsvr32' message but that didn't work either - I did 'START' - 'RUN' -and in that box I typed the 'Regsvr32' message - it came back with 'Parameter is incorrect.'
I get very excited and hopeful whenever somebody suggests a new way to go but am now gettin very nervous as to whether I'll ever get this working - I'll gladly take anybody out 4 a drink if they can succeed in solving this - itz like a quest!!!

PDF Printer not working with Acrobat 8 & Vista Ultimate 64bit

I have not been able to print pdf's. I am uptodate on upgrades and have installed, reinstalled printers and repaired the program etc.
When I install an adobe printer I get the Adobe PDF Converter. When I try to print with it, I get an audible failure signal and nothing ever happens. Sometmes I get a sceen indicating it has failed, sometimes not. I have had this problem since upgrading to a new computer with Vista Ultimate 64bit OS.
I have seen various "Fixes" but none seem to address my problem or work for it.
Anyone with the same problem and perhaps a solution?

These have not worked.

When I try that, I get a choice of deactivating permanently or in suspension. I have tried suspending activation but that seems to have no effect. I can continue to use Photoshop normally. I am reluctant to try permanent deactivation without a more complete understanding of what happens next. If I were to deactivate permanently, my suspicion is that, when I next opened Photoshop, there would be no option to Activate and I would be left with a dead Photoshop product and still no Acrobat.
Also you talk about the original suggestion. Where is that suggestion made?

Like others, I have recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to the next generation and migrated all my information from old to new. Everything works seamlessly EXCEPT Acrobat. Photoshop, Indesign, Bridge and Lightroom all seem functional. Acrobat hangs with an error message "Suite Product Activation Needed. Acrobat was installed as part of a suite. To enable Acrobat, please start another element of the suite (such as Photoshop)." Needless to say, starting another element of the suite has NO impact on Acrobat.
This has to be a common problem. Now that Apple has made it really easy to migrate information from old to new machines, it has to come up all the time. What surprises me greatly is that I can't find any coherent answer in these forums.
So how do I get Acrobat running again?

I am running Adobe Acrobat Pro Version 9.5.5. I do not remember whether it came with Photoshop or InDesign.
When I open Photoshop, it opens without my having to follow any instructions to activate the software. As a matter of fact, I cannot find my Photoshop serial number anywhere in the Photoshop program itself. I do know it from my profile at Adobe.com. Are you suggesting I deactivate Photoshop on the new computer and then reactivate it using my serial number? Will it reactivate?

what do you mean? I do not have a startup disk. I have the original installation disk but that version of Photoshop has been updated a few times.
After staring at your instructions for a while, I realized that you might be talking about the Library/Application Support folders resident on my Macintosh HD, although why you called it a startup disk is unclear to me. IAC, I went into those folders and duly moved the three folders into a new folder I called “Acrob1” and restarted Adobe Acrobat 9 and got the following error message: “AMT Subsystem Failure The licensing subsystem has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall of call customer support.” with a small (6).
By undoing my actions I am back to the staus quo ante.
Now what?

I searched the forums but no one seems to have this problem (or I missed it).
See enclosed JPEG. It says,
"Suite Product Activation Needed
Adobe Acrobat was installed as part of a suite. To enable Adobe Acrobat, please start another component of this suite (such as Adobe Photoshop)."
Yes, I entered in the CS5 serial number and activated the suite through Photoshop. Yes, I entered in the separate serial number for Acrobat. It was accepted but then gives me the activation error. Yes, I tried deactivating CS5, rebooted, reactivated CS5, relaunched Photoshop CS5, relaunched Acrobat, and... same error.
Anyone have a solution? (other than trying to uninstall and reinstall the Suite which I really don't want to do)

I was having the same problem, having just migrated CS5 Design Standard to OS X 10.7, Acrobat 9 stopped working and gave the error 'Suite Product Activation Needed' which did not work...
a (very helpful) discussion on livechat with Adobe suggested:
1. changing the name of cache.db in Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD to cache.old, then trying to start Acrobat
if that did not work, try
2. deleting the FlexNet Publisher folder in Library/Application Support, which when you try to start Acrobat should now allow you to re-enter the serial number

Product key will not work with this edition of Windows 7

I received a product key for Windows 7 Professional N whilst I was at University via Dreamspark. I'm building a new computer and when it's come to inputting the product key, it comes up saying Product key will not work with this edition of Windows 7.
The version I installed was Windows 7 Professional using an iso and a USB. I rang the phone activation number and when I got through to a representative, I gave him the product key and he said it is valid and should be working. He transferred me to technical
services but instead I got cut off.
At this point I'm really not sure what the issue is, the key was for Windows 7 Professional N, I installed Windows 7 Professional and customer support confirmed it as a valid key. Am I missing something?
