Summation issue in ALV
Hi,
I developed a report in ALV using HR_DISPLAY_BASIC_LIST. The problem is that the summation icon is not appearing in the top bar. I need to calculate totals for 4 columns, but I cannot seem to enable the functionality. A colleague of mine suggested that I use REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY instead. How do I change my output function from HR_DISPLAY_BASIC_LIST to REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY? Is there any simple mapping? I also need the top pane that appears in HR_DISPLAY_BASIC_LIST as it is used to display certain information. To get that in REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY it seems I have to code for top-of-page as well to anable that. If possible I would like to enable summation functionality in HR_DISPLAY_BASIC_LIST as this seems to be the simplest option. If this is not possible, how do I map my output to REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY? Help is appreciated, thanks.
Regards,
Khan
Hello ,
Use Reuse_alv_grid_display function module.
and pass datatype or inttype property to fields
on which you want to do summation during creation of fieldcatalog so it will show summation icon on status bar.

Hi,
I have a issue in ALV Report for displaying one field's data into output.
I am getting data into all other fields in ALV Report except for this field.
This field & related fields are declared as below: in final internal table.
sta_no TYPE z3status,
status(10) TYPE c,
Here z3status is of type Char(1).
In Report
I have put a condition :
IF i_tab-sta_no EQ 1.
i_tab-status = 'Created'.
ELSE.
i_tab-status = 'Closed'.
ENDIF.
and to field catalog also i am passing right information as for every other field in ALV Report.
Till the point use of REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY F.M also final internal table is having status field filled.
But in output nothing gets displayed for Status field.
Can anybody tell me what can be the issue!
Thanks in advance.
Thanks,

Issue with ALV grid print preview/spool
Hello everyone,
I am working on a report and I am having some issues with ALV grid. Currently in our DEV and QA environments the user can run the report, view the ALV grid, and print the grid without any issues.
However this isn't the case in the Prod environment. The user is able to run the report and view the grid without any issues. But when they click print preview or click print, the spool is incorrect. It shows the proper values from the grid, but the first field is reduced in length. Rather than showing a numeric field of length 10 it shows 99999999# or 99999999...
The programs are identical through every environment, including user parameters, formats, and spool settings. I have been told printing grids may have some issues, does anyone have any advice or dealt with this issue before?
I appreciate the help.
Thanks,
CI was waiting to hear from the functional team on the matter and no one has mentioned any more issues. I am assuming the problem is solved. I just noticed the thread was still un-answered and wanted to give an update.
Thank you for you help Vijay.

Dear All,
I have an issue in ALV reporting. Pls look at the follow table.
<u>Duty Post</u> <u>Date</u> <u>Time</u>
jurong 12/06 3.45
jurong 13/06 3.50
jurong 14/06 4.50
In the above table jurong is repeated. I do not want jurong to be repeated but other fields should be present.
Kindly help me solve it.
Regards,
Karthikeyan
<u></u><u></u>Hi Karthik,
Another way of handling this without doing if else comparision is using the SORT functionality.
I am giving an example here:
Sort data in the output based on Duty_Post
CLEAR itab_sort.
itab_sort-fieldname = 'DUTY_POST' . (Replace DUTY_POST with the actual field name used in ur report)
itab_sort-up = c_x.
APPEND itab_sort.
CLEAR itab_sort.
Then while calling the ALV FM: include the ITAB_SORT table also.
CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
EXPORTING
i_callback_program = w_call_back_pgm
i_grid_title = w_text
it_fieldcat = itab_fldcat
it_sort = itab_sort[]
is_layout = w_layout
it_events = itab_events[]
i_default = 'X'
i_save = 'A'
IMPORTING
e_exit_caused_by_caller = w_exit_by_caller
es_exit_caused_by_user = w_exit_by_user
TABLES
t_outtab = itab_output_gr
EXCEPTIONS
program_error = 1
OTHERS = 2.
This way data would not repeat.
Hope this helps.

Field Catelog Issue for ALV Grid
Hi,
I have generated the ALV Dynamically based on the Date Range entered on the selection screen, now I am able to fill the values into the structure also, here my problem is date is like S858-spbup ( mm/yyyy format), what ever the values I have moved is S858-umwavwr(Currency values), now I want to sub total these values. Since my field catelog is date format that is why it is not doing subtotals.
code is
gs_fc-seltext_l = date.
gs_fc-seltext_m = date.
gs_fc-seltext_s = date.
gs_fc-ref_fieldname = 'umwavwr'.
gs_fc-ref_tabname = 'S858'.
gs_fc-do_sum = 'X'.
gs_fc-outputlen = 20.
APPEND gs_fc TO gt_fc.
it is doing subtotal but the issue is in ALV header it is not displaying like date (for example 06/2005),instead it is displaying the name as ref_fieldname text. How to resolve this issue. Please help me.
Thanks & Regards,
Sivaram KandulaHi Rich,
Thanks for your speedy reply. But in my case scenario is different.
if i remove the ref_fieldname = date means it is dumping bcz,
output is like this
suppose my input is 06/2005 to 08/2005
CSR District 06/2005 07/2005 08/2005 totals
xxx newyork 30.00 3.00 5.00 38.00
xxx newyork 40.00 5.00 6.00 20.00
xxx 70.00 8.00 11.00 58.00
now I am able to display the output like this, but the problem here is i am unable to subtotal these, bcz my field catelog is date type that is why do_sum is not working, that is why I took ref_feield name as UMWAVWR and S858, it is subtotaling but I am unable to see the header like above, instead it is displaying like
CSR District invoice:Cost invoice:Cost Invoice:cost tot
so please advise me how to proceed further.
Thanks & Regards,

how to do this is there any output layout with this i can get this formate in LAV report
regards,
zafarHi Zafar,
You can populate your internal table as per the requirement.
at new order only.
itab-Order = 3000000 .
itab-Order quantity = 100.
append itab
for all materials for that order
itab-MATERIAL = 610 .
itab-TOTAL QTY = 100 .
itab-SHORTAGE QTY = 5.
append itab.

HI all,
I have developed an ALV Report. In the ALV display, i would like to sum see the Sum (Total) of few fields like Qty, Net value etc when i select that particular column and click the 'SUM" icon.
In my Report when i do so, the Program is displaying Runtime Error.
How to resolve this issue?
Any idea?
Regards
PavanYou must make sure that these columns are defined correctly in the field catalog and in the internal table. For example, make sure that the quantity field is typed as such in the internal table.
data: begin of itab occurs 0,
qty type p decimals 2,
end of itab.
And then in your field catalog, make sure that the DATATYPE is set correctly.
ls_fcat-datatype = 'QUAN'.
Do this may help your situation. Also make sure that the data in these columns is all numeric.

Summation button in ALV report is giving shortdump
Dear All,
I have developed a ALV report. The report is a simple ALV report (Using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY). When I am pressing the summation button at the top, it is giving a shortdump. The reason I have found out is the no. of columns are very large (45 to 50). Can anyone suggest how to handle this situation?
Best wishes,
AtanuHi atanu,
then you can use DO_SUM = 'X' (for the field which you want to sum option) in the fieldcat , this will try to sum while display it self.i mean in list display it will show the totals also.
then you need not to explicitly click on SUM button.

Dear All,
I have made an editable ALV andafter entreing data and successful update it will show another ALV.
The issue is that user has saved different Layouts for the 2 ALV's and made it user specific. But again when the report is executed then the 2 saved layouts are not coming.
The respective layout should come for the 2 ALVs.

Issue with ALV sceen called using BDC in new task and in background mode
Hi Gurus,
Need your expert advice. I am trying to call one transaction (IS AUTO - VELO) which has ALVs on screen. VELO is being called through BDC in NEW TASK in background. So, the new session is a Dialog session and SY-BATCH is initial here.
In two different scenarios, I am getting error at two different places:
a) As I can't call ALV directly, I am using docking container. This is giving issue during 'CREATE OBJECT' -> CONSTRUCTOR for cl_gui_alv_grid -> if offline( ) is initial. (AS SY-BATCH is initial) -> call method me->set_registered_events_internal exporting events = lt_events. -> call method get_registered_events importing events = lt_events. -> IF H_CONTROL IS INITIAL. RAISE CNTL_ERROR. ENDIF.
b) Call to OLE_FLUSH_CALL is happening, which is resulting into dump.
I tried to search SDN and google, but couldn't find the solution. Thanks for your help :).
Regards,
AlokI'm not sure what is eating up your system resources, but .wmv files
are considered to be a delivery format, and are not ideal for editing.
I have never tried to edit screen capture video from any source, but you might consider
upgrading to Expression Encoder 4 Pro (with codecs)... at least it includes H.264.
Expression Encoder 4 Pro -
I am displaying the table in ALV Grid format. I have 4 fields in the table. The filter works for the first 3 fields, but doesnot work for the last field.
Please let me know what might be the issue.
Find the table declaration and the table population as in the below code
TYPES : BEGIN OF ty_message,
avm_nr TYPE avm_nr,
motiv TYPE motiv_nr,
text TYPE t100-text,
msg TYPE merep_orderstat,

gs_message-motiv = gs_upload-motiv.
gs_message-text = 'Order Successfully Changed'.
gs_message-msg = 'Success'.
APPEND gs_message TO gt_message.
CLEAR gs_message.
Regards,
SalilSince the field MSG refer to MEREP_ORDERSTAT which is CHAR10, it will convert the content to UpperCase.
So, try like:
gs_message-avm_nr = gs_upload-avm_nr.
gs_message-motiv = gs_upload-motiv.
gs_message-text = 'Order Successfully Changed'.
gs_message-msg = 'SUCCESS'.
APPEND gs_message TO gt_message.

Wda date picker issue in alv table
Hi,
When I use a date picker in a alv table in wda I have got the following issue:
Select a date, do not press enter and then press a search help in another field in the table. You can test this in web dynpro 'SALV_WD_DEMO_TABLE_F4'.
When you do this you will see that when pressing a search help like the one of 'currency' the date that you previously selected is gone. Also since on_data_check is not triggered in this scenario I am not sure how to solve this. My guess is that it is a bug. Maybe it can be resolved with an on_click event. That way I can update the date field when a select the currency field (before pressing f4 in the currency field)
Does anybody know if this is the best way to solve this?
Regards,
Raymond DoesHi Raymond,
What you mentions is Correct and What your are doing is correct. It is bug in WD ALV. It's not checking the value after you given correct value.
