Just wanted to ask if the girl comes together with my prize(crap, didn't signup..)? I still want the girl tho!
Sorry but the girl in red shirt is taken!
But because this topic is about "Summer Fun Chance to win awesome gaming girls" (that "gears" must be a typo), and because you are a nice guy,
I have a gift for you: the best MSI girls ever (in my opinion)
They are from CeBIT 2008, so they're 6 years older now, but I'm sure you don't have any problem with that.

MSI will be holding the MOA (Master Overclocking Arena) 2014 Grand Finals on October 18-19 in Taipei. Besides the ongoing Champion Prediction event, now we also would like invite MSI Forum users to ask related overclocking questions to MOA PORS. Everyone who joins this event till now to October 12nd have a chance on winning a MSI Z97 MPOWER motherboard.
The event is quite easy. You just need to pick up a MOA PRO who in the following image and ask him an overclocking question in the forum, kind of: To bboyjezz #1: "your question". Questions once registered, MSI will conduct a random drawing among all participants. In the end, these questions will be collected and pass to chosen PROS, and then they are going to answer the questions via video. Have fun and good luck to all you!

    To rbuass (Brazil) #11,
    1. When did you start overclocking?
    2. How many CPU did you burn / fail?
    3. What was your first CPU frequency target?
    4. What's the highest CPU frequency you achieved?
    5. What was your motivation?
    6. How does it feel to belong in such contest and compete with other professional overclokers?
    7. If you could rate yourself 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, what would it be?
That'll be all. Thank you MSI for another great opportunity.

  • Summer fun !   aka - "what about MY memory files ? "

The grey cells are getting fogged....but its time for a beer and some summer fun !
Went to a nearby park yesterday to check out what the county has to offer ( been in my apt for a year and still didn't know about this park a neighbor told me about ).  There's an outdoor pool, baseball diamonds ( 3) , picnic tables with benches ( no bar b q pits ) , and plenty of green grass !
How cool is THAT !  So now when it's about a zillion degrees out there for some unknown reason ( like because everyone in China and Japan and so on has to wear surgical masks to go outside cause of the pollution maybe ---we got the same air I think -eventually ) ....anyway, as I said, when it gets a zillion degrees I can go to the park and jump in the pool !
dog paddle across, cool off....jump in off the 10 foot board and do a swan dive !

    Mitchell,
I completely understand. Many years ago, I was in San Diego shooting for Mortensen Construction (all of their military construction). I had come over from Denver, shooting in LV on the way. It was going onto July 4, so the military facilities were shutting down. We did not want to go back to Denver, only to return, so attempted to stay in SD. Wow, the whole city was filling up with "Zonies." Who knew? (At the time - not me... !). We found a B & B up on the hill, and holed up for the long weekend. Everything was filled to overflowing. This was also the year that PHX hit 122F, so more than most years were in SD. It was like a mini-Mardi Gras and not a pretty scene.
Who knew that years later I too would be a Zonie?
We were just in Orlando, FL, for an event. One day our waiter asked where we were visiting from. When we replied PHX, he screamed, "Zonies!" and embraced us like a long lost favorite aunt and uncle. "I'm from San Diego," he proclaimed, "welcome to Orlando." I was very surprised. I guess not all SD residents are aware of the "plague," that we bring.
When we do go to SD, we ALWAYS carry our passports, all papers and our shot card, even if we are only going to be in some rich-person's "compound" for the entire visit. One such overlooks Sandnsea, and another is at Coronado, plus a few in La Jolla proper, and up to Del Mar. We are usually the "token poor people," and are shown off to locals, like a favorite hunting dog would be. "Hey look everybody! We have 'poor friends' too!"
    Thanks for the laughs,
Hunt, off to find his ice-climbing ax... those glaciers beckon.

  • MSI Gaming gear in the making again?

Since I saw the GK-601 Gaming keyboard from MSI I have been so excited, I have always supported Microsoft/msi, not matter what.. I am a top all around gamer from Denmark, and no matter what I have done I have supported the Microsoft gaming gear where ever I went (Old sidewinder series) BUT NOW! I wonder if MSI will start making gaming gear once again, I so hope that they will make a gaming mouse, headset, mousepad and so on again.
What do you guys think, or maybe we can get a real answer from MSI them self?

Quote from: Bernhard on 11-May-13, 14:36:36
MSI = Micro-Star International Co., Ltd (MSI) (Chinese: :微星科技, "Micro-Star Technology") is a Taiwanese electronics company based in New Taipei City. It is one of the world's largest information technology manufacturers with its Baoan Plant in Shenzhen and research and development facilities in Kunshan.
M$ or MS = Mircosoft. It is the Sotware giant that dominates the Operating System market for most PCs in this world.
MSI is also an installer package file format used by Windows. Its name comes from the program’s original title, Microsoft Installer, which has since changed to Windows Installer. MSI files are used for installation, storage, and removal of programs. The files are contained in a package, which is used with the program’s client-side installer service, an .EXE file, to open and install the program
An unfortunate duplicate use of abbreviations that could confuse those not in the know
Back to the question though. Yes, MSI does have some "gaming gear" in selected markets:

    http://www.msi.com/product/mm/Wireless-Combo-630.html

Those mouses are not gaming mouses, but yes.. I already mentioned the keyboard.

  • Is the Mozilla Reward Center, offering VIP customers the chance to win an iPad and requesting my home address, genuine or a scam?

On my Google Nexus 5, when I access the app ASTRO file manager, I am daily receiving an ad from the "Mozilla Reward Center", offering VIP customers the chance to win an iPad and requesting my home address for shipping should I win.
It looks to me like a scam.
I have saved a pdf of the screen if anyone wishes to see it.
If anyone knows how to block the ads in ASTRO file manager, I would be grateful for help, but I suspect this is not possible.

  • Wine and gaming

I'm pretty impressed how far wine has come over the past year. It was a year ago that I basically couldn't get any games installed under wine, however, now, I'm even playing some modern and semi-modern games under wine. For instance, I couldn't get Dawn of War I and Winter Assault to work, however, the second expansion and Soulstorm did work without a hitch. I also got Mark of Chaos to work as well (another Warhammer game).  I couldn't get Civ IV, Gal Civ II, SOASE, Medieval 2 to work, unfortunately. Some other games that work are Warlords IV, Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete and IV Complete, Kohan II, and Fantasy Wars.
So, this is a much better outlook than I had to start with. So, there is some hope for wine after all.
    Happy gaming!

Yeah, in the best case scenario Wine will provide a great platform for replacing Windows. It is getting there, there are much more things to do, but at least some software makers are optimizing their applications for usage under Wine. This is the case of utorrent, those guys are constantly fixing utorrent for it to behave in the best way possible under Wine. I myself I'm using utorrent, since the new Deluge 1.0RC8 is just so bad and so simple is not even worth looking at, I might as well, compile the latest 0.5 version now.
But the point is, Wine surely is getting better and better. Hence why I'm the maintainer of the package.
