Sun Identity Server 6.1 with Weblogic 8.1 sp2

Hi,
I've installed the IS 6.1 with WLS 8.1 sp2 and the agent 2.1.1 and followed the agent configuration guide to configure the xml files (web.xml and weblogic.xml) and agent authenticator.
When I login to the restricted resource, the browser is redirected to the IS server login page. After login, the browser is redirected back to the resource with 403 forbidden.
Is there any step missing? Should I additional add some policy in the IS console? .....
Clive

I have just installed Sun Identity Server 6.2 with WebLogic 8.1 SP3 and am experiencing the same results. Have you resolved this issue in your environment? We are evaluating Portal Server running on a BEA WLS Container and thus do not have Sun Support on the Identity Server Component of this configuration.

  • Sun Identity Server on Windows 2003?

    When will the Sun Java Systems Identity Server be available for Windows 2003?
    Thanks,

    I am having the same problem with this entry not being found in the registry. I've performed a search for 'Identity Manager' and found the gateway entry values here instead:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Sevices\IdentityManagerGateway
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Sevices\IdentityManagerGateway
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Sevices\IdentityManagerGateway
    Please advise how to turn on the gateway loggin feature if this would make the specific entry to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE.... in the registry.
    Thanks.

  • Best way to use Sun Web Server connection pooling with Web Application?

    I have a number of applications that run Oracle and MySQL queries via Sun Web Server 6.1. I use the Web Server's built-in connection pooling, which works fairly well.
    As an interface with the connections I receive from the Web Server, I use a class, which (1) accepts the SQL and database name from a tool, (2) Opens the connection, runs the SQL, closes the connection, (3) puts the content of the result set into a Vector of Hashtables, (4) returns that Vector to the tool.
    Why do I use this Vector? That way, in my applications, I don't have to deal with opening connections (or getting them from the pool) and I don't have to worry about closing connections, because that's done automatically by the interface class.
    Is this a dumb approach to use? I'm a bit paranoid about open DB connections, because we have had a number of problems where connections would not be closed, go stale in oracle, and clog up the database resources.
    Can you suggest a better way to (1) smartly control opening and closing connections, and (2) enabling fast database access?
    Sorry, but given this Java/Sun Web Server double topic, I'm going to post the same message on the Web Server board.
    Any tips?
    dailysun
    P.S. For instance, in my tool, I call the interface class in this manner:
    Vector results_v = Database.getSelect("SELECT * FROM TEST","database1");
    getSelect uses the first string as the SQL and the second string as the jndi name of the Web server's database resource. getSelect does all the context stuff to get a connection from the pool, runs the SQL, puts the resultset into a Vector of Hastables (where each row is one Hashtable), and returns the Vector.

  • Sun Portal Server 6 compatibility with Web Server 6.1 SP - 8

    Hi,
    Our client is running on Sun One Portal Server Version 6.0, which is deployed on Sun One Web Server ver 6.0, there is a request from the hosting provider to upgrade the web container to Web Server 6.1 SP8. My question is Is Sun One Portal 6.0 (with AM 5.1 and DS 5.1 SP4) capable of / compatible with Web Server 6.1 SP - 8 ?
    Do you see any issues with going ahead with the upgrade?
    Thanks much for all your responses!

    We upgraded our Sun Webserver to SP8 and had no issues. We are running
    - Portal 6.2
    - IS 6.1
    - DS 5.1

  • Sync Sun Messaging Server Address Book with Mac OS X Address Book

    Hello,
    I am wondering whether there is a way to synchronise my address books inside Sun Message Server and on my Mac?
    Does anybody know how do to this? I tried an VCF export of all my contacts from my Mac address book and imported it with the Web mailer interface Sun Java System Communications Express.
    The import was done without any errors but all emails and phone data is gone so finally I got several empty contacts.
    Is this a known problem? Is there a workaround or a fix available?
    Does anybody know a better way for synchronization in both directions and without duplicating all records on a second import?
    Thanks in advance and best regards
    Thorsten

    You can try the demo site here:
    http://commsuite.demo.sun.com:7080/iwc

    Are you able to provide an example of a single exported contact that doesn't work (import into CE)?
    Does anybody know a better way for synchronization in both directions and without duplicating all records on a second import?If you can find a syncml client that is able to sync records with the Mac Address Book then you may be able to use the Mobile Communications software to sync contact information:

    Hi,
    I am using OIM 9.1.0.2. i want to Provision User to Directory Server 6.3 with SSL confiuration
    Can anyone tell me the steps for configuring the Certificate import, etc..
    followed SJSDS_904120 doc but there is no info for DSEE 6.3 in it.
    Regards,

    Well not sure about the exact clicks you need to do but the basic steps are that you export certificates from DS and then import it into the jdk which has OIM running. Look at the doc for SJDS6.3 about setting and exporting certs.

  • Getting Sun Application Server to work with JRockit

    Hi all,
    I am attempting to have Sun Application Server run on top of JRockit and have the following issue:
    In the Domain.xml I have:
    <jvm-options>-server</jvm-options>
    <jvm-options>-Xms1g</jvm-options>
    <jvm-options>-Xmx1g</jvm-options>
    <jvm-options>-XX:NewRatio=4</jvm-options>
    <jvm-options>-XX:PermSize=128m</jvm-options>
    <jvm-options>-XX:MaxPermSize=128m</jvm-options>
    But in the Server.log I get:
    [WARN ] '-XX:NewRatio=4' is not a valid VM option. Ignoring.
    [WARN ] '-XX:PermSize=128m' is not a valid VM option. Ignoring.
    [WARN ] '-XX:MaxPermSize=128m' is not a valid VM option. Ignoring.
    Any thoughts as to why the options are not valid? Thanks, Brad

    You don't need to :-)
    There is no concept of a PermGen in JRockit, instead the memory is allocated on the normal heap. No more "out of perm gen memory"-problems.

    Can any one comment on why I am getting this error? Is it related to the hot deployment issue? Please comment.
    Thanks in advance,
    K

    Hi,
    Generally this type of exception raised by a class or the serialization runtime when a class may not be serialized.The argument should be the name of the class.
    You might be forgot to implement the serializable interface for the class in struts frame work.
    check it properly.

  • JSF with Weblogic 8.1 SP2

    Hello,
    I am trying to deploy a JSF application in weblogic 8.1 SP2. But I am getting some servlet initialization exception. Have anyone of u faced such problem? Then please let me know the solution.
    Also, is there any way to know what versions of different J2EE component does a particular version of weblogic supports? Websphere has got a batch file which when executed gives the supported versions of JDBC etc. in an html file. Does weblogic has something similar?
    Regards,
    Saurav

    I think it is that answer. However, Weblogic Enterprise Security does
    support SAML.

    Hi,
    I would like to play around with SAML-based authentication with WebLogicPlatform
    8.1 sp2.
    I searched thru dev2dev, google and e-docs, but could not come up with anyhow-to
    or example.
    Can somebody please tell me how can we do this?! (I hope the answer is not'WebLogic
    does not support SAML at this at this time!').

  • Java.lang.OutOfMemory error when transforming xml using xsl with Weblogic 6.1 sp2

    Hello,
    I have an OutOfMemoryError when applying an xsl transformation to generate html
    code in a web page. I'm running Weblogic 6.1 sp2
    I think the problem comes from the objectin which th html is stored during the
    transformation. The problem only occurs from a minimal xml size. I could fix
    it by increasing JVM allocated size but I would like to find a more flexible solution.
    If I know an other way to solve this problem, I really would appreciate !
    Thanl you,
    Laurent.

    Hello,
    You might try asking your question in the JSP newsgroup:
    http://newsgroups.bea.com/cgi-bin/dnewsweb?cmd=xover&group=weblogic.developer.interest.jsp
    There just may not be a more flexible solution :-)
    This doc may be of some value, see chapter 2:

    After this, all applications are starting up without any issue. Please let me know if someone have already faced this issue before or any pointers on this?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sanjeev

    Hi,
    I have deployed 10 or more portlets on same managed server and every portlet have a logging initiator servlet which uses log4j. During managed server startup, above exception only comes ones and after that, all portlets are starting fine. There is no issue at all with other portlet.
    I was getting same error if I am not having log4j.jar in manged server JVM startup classpath for every portlet. But, once I added log4j.jar to classpath, it is coming only once and after that, all portlets are starting fine.
    Any pointer to look at? I tried to add log4j.properties to startup classpath as well, but with no luck :(
    Thanks,
    Sanjeev

  • Sun Web Server Reverse Proxy and Weblogic HTTP to HTTPS redirection

    Hi,
    I am currently testing reverse-proxy from SJSW 7.0 update 5 to Weblogic server but I have encountered an issue.
    I have configured a context root to be forwarded to weblogic:
    Web Server: www.server.com
    URI: /path
    Reverse Proxy URL: wlserver:9000
    When I access https://www.server.com/path, I am getting the correct page. The issue is, the weblogic server is configured to redirect HTTP access to HTTPS, i.e., when I access http://www.server.com/path, it should be redirected to https://www.server.com/path. However, that is not the case. What happens is that I am being redirected instead to https://www.server.com/.
    If I don't use reverse proxy, that is, if I use the libproxy.so from weblogic, I get the correct redirection.
    Would appreciate it very much if someone can help me troubleshoot this issue.
    Thanks in advance!

    I am not sure, how you have configured your reverse proxy since you didn't attach / refer your current configuration file. this is how I would do it..
    - create a new configuration (using web server 7 admin gui , within configuration wizard, disable java option if you plan to use web server 7 only for reverse proxy)
    - select this new configuration and go to reverse proxy and try to reverse proxy / to the origin server.
    that is all it should need.
    your obj.conf or <hostname>-obj.conf depending on your configuration should look like following snippet
    <Object name="default">
    AuthTrans..
    NameTrans fn=map from="/" to="/path" name="reverse-proxy-/"
    </object>
    <Object name="reverse-proxy-/">
    Route fn=....
    Service ..
    </Object>
    this is all you should need..
    However, if you wanted to add complexity to your configuration, you could do some thing like
    <Object name="default">
    Auth..
    <If defined $security>
    NameTrans fn=map from="/" to="/path" name="reverse-proxy-/"
    </If>
    </Object>
    <Object name="reverse-proxy-/">
    Route...

  • Setting up Connection Pool in sun app server 8.1 with SQL server 2000

    Hello,
    I am trying to set up a connection pool & data source for SQL server 2000 (MSDE 2000).
    Here is what I attempted to do:
    I have a pool data source in a jar file called poll.jar and I copied it to C:\sun\Appserver\lib (Install dir\lib)
    com.microsoft.mspool.PoolDataSource is the pool data source class.
    In the Admin console, JDBC>Connection pools. Selected NEW and made the following entries.
    GENERAL SETTINGS
    Name: MsPool
    Datasource class name : com.microsoft.mspool.PoolDataSource
    Resource type: javax.sql.DataSource
    POOL SETTINGS: default values
    CONNECTION VALIDATION: default values
    TRANSACTION ISOLATION: default values
    PROPERTIES:
    DataSourceName:PoolDataSource
    NetworkProtocol:tcp
    DatabaseName: myDB
    Password:User specific
    user:User specific
    server: localhost
    PortNumber:1433
    I get the following error when I ping:
    Operation 'pingConnectionPool' failed in 'resources' Config Mbean. Target exception message: Class name is wrong or classpath is not set for : com.microsoft.mspool.PoolDataSource.
    Can any one help me if have a solution?
    Thanks in advance.

    You need to copy your jar to ${AS_INSTALL}/domains/domain1/lib/ext (replace domain1 by your
    domain). Another option is to leave the jar in ${AS_INSTALL}/lib and add a entry in the classpath-suffix element of your domain.xml.

  • Security issue with web server plug-in with Weblogic server

    Hi,
    I have a setup where I have an Microsoft IIS setup as the front facing web server and have the WLS IIS plug-in installed on it. At the backend, is two WLS11g managed servers in a cluster.
    I have a JAX-WS client running on HPUX hitting the web service via IIS but I observe a very strange thing. When the service request is rather small, it could pass through IIS and the managed servers could pick up the call and reply correctly. However, when I have a bigger request call (larger payload), it will error out, citing "Unsupported Content-Type: text/html Supported ones are: [text/xml]".
    I have also attempt to put in a TCP/IP Monitor between the client and IIS and it appears that regardless if the call gets through, it seems to consistently got hit with a HTTP error 401.2, follow by a 401.1, and then, the WSDL came back. I am pretty sure that the web services are not secured as I could get the WSDL without any authentication on the managed servers direct from my brower (it did pop the authentication window if I attempt to hit the web services via IIS)
    Anyone has any idea what is going on, the issue seems to be so contradicting...
    Thanks in advance.

    When you look at this link http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/IIS/8feeaa51-c634-4de3-bfdc-e922d195a45e.mspx?mfr=true
    You can check the authentication method that is configured for that node in the metabase.
