  • Where to download Sun IdM/Oracle Waveset evaluation version [full]

    Hi,
    Could you advice me, where to download evaluation copy of sun IdM/Wave Set? I downloaded 8.1 but it looks for pre-installations.
    Appreciate your help!
    Thanks
    Prakash

    Sun IDM 8.1 can be installed from scratch. No previous IDM versions are required. It is a full installation. Simply use MySQL as the repository database and Apache Tomcat as your application server.
    Specific installation instructions for Sun IDM 8.1 on Tomcat can be found here: http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-5594/ahtbq?l=en&a=view
    Of course, first you need to prepare the DB and App Server: http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-5594/ghrqf?l=en&a=view and http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-5594/ghrsw?l=en&a=view, respectively.
    Good luck.

  • Netbeans IDE download for SUN IdM 7.1

    Folks
    Can anyone tell where i could get the Netbeans IDE download for SUN IdM 7.1?
    Thanks
    Chellappan Sampath.

    Hello Chellappan,
    Do you actually have the IDM 7.1 bits? Per the 2 forum threads I posted earlier, did you check out the contents of the idm.war file that comes as part of the IDM 7.1 distribution? In the "sample" directly inside of idm.war you'll see "ide-bundle.zip". I uploaded it to our server for your convenience:
    https://supportuploads.sun.com/download?directory=downloads&file=ide%2dbundle%2ezip
    Also, directly in the IDM 7.1 zip you'll see: com-sun-idm-ide.nbm - I uploaded this as well in case you need it:
    https://supportuploads.sun.com/download?directory=downloads&file=com%2dsun%2didm%2dide%2enbm
    Finally, here's the public download link for all of IDM 7.1 in case there's something else you're missing:

    I am able to find the download link to idm 6.x, 7.x but i didnt find the link to download the sun idm 5.x version
    please can any help me out finding the sun idm 5.x version so that i can download and do some R&D in migration process.
    thankx in advance

    Stop blaming Sun for your inability to find stuff:
    http://java.sun.com/ -> click "Java SE" under "Popular Downloads" -> click "Previous Releases" -> click "Archived Releases" -> Select whatever you like.
    Every release that is superseeded by some other release will be archived, because there is very little reason to install it (and any Software that runs on Update 12 but not on Update 13 is broken by design).
    Have you tried running on Update 13?

  • Configure sun IDM 8.0

    I need the steps to configure sun IDM 8.0

    Hello,
    Download the package and go through the README.
    The IDM database storage method is the only one thing which is confusing. It can either be stored in the local file system or in the database. If you are planning for database, you have to install one of the database ( oracle,mysql etc) with proper connectors before the IDM installation.
    hint:BETTER GO FOR MYSQL.....................BCZ SUN ACQUIRED MYSQL :)
    Thanks,

    What error message are you getting?
    Have you installed Java and an apllication servers as requested?
    1) Set Up a Java Virtual Machine Software Development Kit and Java Compiler
    The application requires a Java compiler and a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) to run the Java classes that perform actions within Identity Manager. Both of these can be found in a Java SDK. Download from or http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp *** You should add JAVA_HOME to your list of system environment variables and to your system path. To do this, add JAVA_HOME to your system environment and JAVA_HOME\bin to your path, making sure to list it before any other Java environment variables.
    2) Install Tomcat application server from official http://tomcat.apache.org/ to local hard drive. Configure Tomcat memory requirements and restart. Min: 256k

  • Problem with SUN C++ 6.2 installation

    Hi,
    I am trying to install SUN C++ 5.3 on a Solaris machine running Solaris 8 and currently having SUN C++ 5.0. It appears to me that SUN C++ 5.3 is only available as part of the Forte Developer 6 update 2 package.
    So, I downloaded that package and installed it. However, I don't seem to have acquired the C++ class libraries pertaining to SUN C++ 5.3. I know this because specific .h files, that need to be in the include directory, are not present in the installation directory. The Forte section, however, seems to have installed.
    Is the SUN C++ 5.3 installation available without the overhead of Forte? Please send me the link to that, if one exists.
    Thanks,
    Sachin.

    Sorry for the longdrawn story of my woes! ;)
    My specific question is :-
    "Is the SUN C++ 5.3 installation available without the overhead of Forte, the IDE? Please send me the link to that, if one exists."
    Thanks,
    Sachin.

  • Exploratory Programming of the Sun IDM API

    Exploratory Programming of the Sun IDM API using Rhino
    Sun IDM comes with a JavaScript interpreter (Rhino) that can be invoked from the command-line. This gives developers an easy way to explore the large number of classes that comprised the product.
    Let's say for example that you need the approvers of a role object in order to display them on a form. (The role view provides this information, but let's ignore this for the purpose of this example.) The role javadoc mentions two methods to get the approvers, getApproverRefs() and getApprovers(). Unfortunately they are not described clearly, and the difference between the two is not clear either.
    In order to understand what these methods do and what they return, you can use the interpreter to invoke each one directly.
    First start the interpreter with the 'lh.bat js' command:
    lh.bat jsYou will be greeted with the javascript prompt "js>"
    Then the first thing to do is to login to the application server. Copy-paste the following code into the shell interpreter.
    // Java packages are prepended with the word 'Packages'
    // and are imported using the 'importPackage' function
    importPackage(Packages.com.waveset.util);
    importPackage(Packages.com.waveset.object);
    importPackage(Packages.com.waveset.security.authn);
    importPackage(Packages.com.waveset.session);
    importPackage(Packages.com.waveset.ui);
    importPackage(Packages.java.util);
    // Use arguments[0] and arguments[1] if you want to pass credentials from the command line
    // Here we just use the built-in account "configurator"
    var epass = new EncryptedData("configurator");
    var session = SessionFactory.getSession("configurator", epass);
    print("Waveset session established");Alternatively save the above code to a text file called "idm-init.js" and load the file from the interpreter.
    js> load("idm-init.js")
    Waveset session establishedOnce a session has been established, objects can be loaded from the repository. Enter this line at the prompt to get the role object named "testrole3"
    js> var roleObject = session.getObject("Role", "testrole3");Enter the variable name at the prompt to cause the interpreter to invoke the object's 'toString' method.
    js> roleObject
    Role:testrole3Use a 'for' loop to print out all of the object's method and fields.
    js> for (i in roleObject) { print(i) }Enter a method's name to invoke it. Let's call getApproverRefs().
    js> var approvers1 = roleObject.getApproverRefs();
    js> approvers1
    [User:role1approver(id=#ID#1CC1759638D9AF96:182C132:10F3E8040B5:-7FBE), User:role2approver(id=#ID#1CC1759638D9AF96:182C132:10F3E8040B5:-7FB8)]
    js> approvers1.get(0).getClass();
    class com.waveset.object.ObjectRefNow let's check out getApprovers().
    js> var approvers2 = roleObject.getApprovers();
    js> approvers2
    [Lcom.waveset.object.WSUser;@d3c69c
    js> approvers2[0].getClass()
    class com.waveset.object.WSUserSo getApproverRefs() returns a list of ObjectRef objects, while getApprover() returns an array of WSUser objects.
    In summary the Sun IDM JavaScript interpreter can be used to explore the product's vast API. This article used the role class and its getApprovers() and getApproverRefs() methods as an example for exploratory programming. Other applications include automated testing and administrative scripts.

    Yes you can customise IDM it is all available in courses and the manuals also provide some info.
    As long as you can write the code you need in java or javascript you can call it from IDM: that could be an interface to you naming app.
    Otherwise use the SPML interface if you want to use something else then the GUI. This is also described in the manuals.

  • Where can I get 5 CD installation of download of Solaris 10?

    Hello folks, my host have CD rom, not DVD. I am running into the problem of being able to install OS from it since I can't find anywhere this media. Sun-->Oracle does not have CD installation as downloadable option.

    Hello Gene,
    Sun ceased to provide Solaris on CD a few years ago.
    There are a few choices (assuming this is the Fire V120 from your other thead):
    1. Install a DVD drive. Most ATAPI slimline drive (e.g. from older notebooks) work. These slimline drives have no jumper for master/slave, the mode is determined by firmware.
    Maybe the drive you get is setup as slave, but the V120 requires this drive setup as master. On the paddle-board there is a jumper to select master or slave operation. The current selling SATA based drives use a different, incompatible interface.
    2. The above mentioned paddle-board uses a --standard 40 pin IDE connector, with open cover you can attach a standard ATAPI drive These are pretty inexpensive today. I paid about 30 Euro for a DVD writer (not slimline!).-- Unfortunately this isn't the standard 40 pin connector and cable. These are fne pitch.
    3. Get an external SCSI DVD drive. Select SCSI-ID 6 for the drive (this is the standard setting in Sun systems). The controller is single-channel, the upto two internal disks use
    ID 0 and 1. Use the OBP commands probe-scsi and devalias (cdrom referrs to internal CD drive) to determine the device-path for the drive.
    If you have access to another Solaris system the following might work as well.
    4. Setup a jumpstart server and netinstall Solaris.

    After reviewing a real V120 option 2 is no choice, because of the special cable.

  • I need to get raw plugin for Canon 5D Mark iii for CS6  the adobe website has changed and I can not find the download.. it keeps looping me back to the product download

    I need to get raw plugin for Canon 5D Mark iii for CS6  the adobe website has changed and I can not find the download.. it keeps looping me back to the product download page without the raw

    Which operating system are you using?
    Have you tried Help>Updates from within photoshop cs6 to get either camera raw 8.3 or 8.7.1, which should enable photoshop cs6 to open the canon 5D Mark III files.
    (version of camera raw depends on your operating system)
    If that doesn't work try one of the following camera raw plugin installers:
    Camera raw 8.7.1 plugin
    https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html
    If you have windows xp or vista or mac os x snow leopard (10.6.8), then you'll have to use the camera raw 8.3 plugin installer:

  • Sun IDM vs Oracle IDM

    Hi Everyone,
    The current version of IDM we are at is 6.0. We are thinking of the following options:
    1. Upgrade Sun IDM 6.0 -- IDM 8.1
    2. Migrate to latest Oracle IDM.
    Could someone please let me know the pros/cons in considering one over the other options?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    A very interesting question but not one that can be answered easily.
    As Oracle is in the process of buying Sun then the future of both products is uncertain. Sun IDM might survive or Oracle IDM might survive or the future Oracle IDM product may be a combination of both. I do not believe that we will see a resolution to this for at least 6 months. Even then it will only be an annoucement.
    I also do not see an major improvements in either product until there is greater certainty of what will be the future product.
    For your particular circumstance I would upgrade from Sun IDM 6.0 -- IDM 8.1. The main reasons are as follows:
    - Software currency. IDM 6.0 is no longer supported.
    - The upgrade is free of licencing costs.
    - Improved functionaility of the latest version of Sun IDM.
    - Little training is required
    Migrating to Oracle IDM would not be a trivial task and would probably include significant cost eg training, licensing and potentially hardware.
    I hope this helps
