  • Sun Java System Connector for Microsoft Outlook 6.0

Can this connector work/sync with Outlook 2003?
When will a version be launched that supports Outlook 2003 ?

I've found the same iisues withthe IMAP folders disappearing, I used the following "trick" to get some sort of stability:
    1. Shutdown Outlook 2003
    2. Go to the "mail" control panel
    3. Chose appropriate profile if necessary
    4. Select E-mail Accounts
    5. Add an IMAP account with the exact same settings as the IMAP configuration setup by the Connector
    6. Delete the "Sun ONE SMTP" account (doesn't work so why not.)
    7. Save and Exit
This configuration appears to be stable and still uses the back end Sun Messaging and Calendar servers. I've only done a few simple test, so use at your own risk.
Now if I could only get this stuff to work with either iCal or Entourage's Calendar on a Macintosh.

  • Connect JUST Outlook Calendar to Sun Java System Calendar Server

Is it possible to connect JUST the Outlook Calendar to a Sun Java System Calendar Server, using Sun Java System Connector for Microsoft Outlook 6.0?
Leaving all other outlook functionality hooked up to exchange?
    Hal.

    Hi,
Being disconnected straight away after authenticating to an MMP doesn't sound very healthy.
Has the MMP worked in the past - can you connect to the MMP with another email client such as Mozilla Thunderbird and collect your email?
Is the MMP AService.rc process crashing/core dumping?
What does the MMP IMAP log tell you/have you tried increasing the logging level and connecting again?

  • Problem with GlassFish and Sun Java System Message Queue

    Hi,
I used application server PE.8 and I upgraded to Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 9.0 Update 1 Patch 1, and I changed all my CLASSPATH and everything. My system is working fine, but the Sun Java System Message Queue that I used before is still showing the queues and physical queues of the previous application server, not the new one. Do you know if there is way to change that and link it to the new version?
    thanks

Use an ESB like ServiceMix to bridge JMS providers
    http://servicemix.org/
Or write your own MessageListener to consume from one JMS and publish on another one. Be careful with queues to avoid loosing the ordering - so you probably want to use a single MessageListener per subscription/queue - or to take advantage of Tibco's exclusive queues to ensure ordering is preserved. If ordering doesn't matter then don't worry too much about it and maybe have a pool of consumers to improve throughput

  • Sun Java System Directory connector cloning on OIM 11g R2

    Hi all,
we successfully installed the +"Sun Java System Directory (9.0.4)"+ connector on OIM 11g R2 and it is properly working.
We need to clone the LDAP Resource Object in order to execute provisioning to different ldap instances,
but under "Connector Management" web console is not possible clone this connector; it's possible for example for Active Directory resource object but not for LDAP.
How we can clone the connector for LDAP?
    Thanks a lot,
    Ettore F.

    Hello Rajiv,
    thank for your help.
I figured out how to clone a connector, even if the resource object is not shown under "Connector Management".
It's enough to click the "Clone" button and providing the original xml file, of the resource object then you can proceed with the cloning of the connector in 12 steps as the wizard shows.
    Bye,
    Ettore F.

  • Sun Java System Application Server Standard stops responding for no reason

    Dear Sun Users and Support.
We ran into an issue that we can't find any cause for. For some reason our Sun Java System Application Server 8.2 Standard stops responding to HTTP calls. Even Admin console can't be invoked. The server by itself appears to be running according to the Windows Services window.
It happens very rarely but once it happens the server needs to be restarted.
There are no logs in the log files.
This happens to multiple Sun Servers at the same time (As if some kind of timer shuts them off).
The servers run on Windows Server 2003.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
These servers are in the production environment and have expected uptime of 99.9%.
    Thank you.

This has happened to us a couple of times and it was caused by Windows running out of TCP/IP connections. Next time it happens do a "netstat -an" to see if you have an extremely large amount of connections in time-wait state.
If you do this is probably the culprit and I'm sorry to say that I don't know of a cure. From what I've heard (objection your honour, hearsay!) this is caused by bugs in Windows TCP/IP stack.
If you require a 99.9% uptime you should perhaps consider switching to Linux or Unix. I know, easier said than done!
    Hope this helps,
    Gunnar

  • Php plugin 1.0 for sun java system webserver

    Hi,
I installed php plugin 1.0 for sun java system webserver 7. But it supports default 2 DB mysql and postgresql. Can i configure oracle 10g DB support?
Appreciate if you could throw some light on this.
    Thanks,
    Krish

Using PHP with NSAPI plugin will definitely get you the best performance. However, if you are using PHP with NSAPI plugin enabled then you might have to be careful when you are installing any of the PHP extensions from PECL to make sure that they are thread safe.
Note: There can be a potential issue only when using any of PECL (http://pecl.php.net) extension and not with any PEAR (http://pear.php.net) extensions.
For example, if you PHP built for NSAPI and then using on top of WordPress or Drupal or on top of frameworks like ZF etc should not be a problem
To compile PHP 5.3 with NSAPI, you would do some thing like
    ./configure --with-nsapi=<web-server7-install-directory>
To compile PHP 5.3 with FastCGI, you would do some thing like
    ./configure enable-cgi enable-force-cgi-redirect

  • Some question for Sun Java System

    Dear all:
I use Sun Java System We Server 7.0 for my project.
But I have some question on SJSWS 7.0
    My server runtime information
    1. OS is RedHat Enterprise 3
    2. memory: 2G
    3. SJSWS version: 7.0 preview 3
    My questions
Q1. The speed that download image is slower than the speed that run JSP page . The image's size to smaller than 5 KB. Is it possible to speed up download image
Q2. My machine has 2GB memory, The system use swap area always. I think it isn't enough of SJSWS 7.0. How much memory size that SJSWS 7.0?
    Many thank for everybody

first off, please try the Update 1 release in stead of technology preview releases: http://www.sun.com/download/products.xml?id=467713d6
Q1> So I want to ask it is possible to display image and text at the same time like use Tomcat ?
there is nothing in the server end (whether it's Tomcat or any other web server) that affects how the content is displayed on the browser.
Q2>I detect The ram was used over 800M~1G by SJSWS7. My website has 80~150 user in workinghour
Are you seeing Web Server process measuring so much memory?
Q3> Is it possible that the admin server use SJSWS7U1 and some or all of node use SJSWS preview 3, because the server is running on line, I can't stop them for update server
No - you want to switch to U1 anyway, since it's a released version (and is absolutely FREE for production use).

  • Sun Java System Application Server for Mac OS X ?

    hi everybody.
does anybody know if (any given date ?) sun is planning to offer a distribution of its sun java system application server for mac os x ? or even better: any ideas on how to install a currently available version on mac os x 10.4 ? the linux bin seems not to be readable.
thank you very much in advance, folks.
    and have a nice day
    andre from berlin, germany

As you noticed, standalone MacOS distribution of application server is currently not available, but what you can do is to download NetBeans with J2EE bundle or Creator (for free) and install bundled Application Server on this platform. Download URLs are:
    http://www.netbeans.info/downloads/download.php?type=4.1
    (NetBeans/J2EE cobundle)
    http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/devtools/free/
    (Creator)
Also, you can install and run Glassfish (which is open-source version of upcoming Application Server 9.0) on MacOS X:

  • Is this bugs for Sun Java System Portal Server 6 2005Q4 (errorStoreDP) ?

    Hi,
I installed Sun Java System Portal Server 6 2005Q4 under window xp environment.
I used the following command to deploy war file, it worked for me (because I setup enough services and role for amadmin user), deploy/undeploy was worked very well for me.
    pdeploy deploy -u amadmin -w amAdminPassword -g -p
    amAdminPassword -v portletsamples.war
Two months later, I did not change anything (configuration) within the two months.
I use the same deploy/undeploy command to deploy war file again, I got the following error =>
    errorStoreDP (sms-UNKNOWN_EXCEPTION_OCCURRED)
Message:The user does not have permission to perform the operation.
Why this condition happened ? is this bugs for sun portal server ?
I uninstall this sun portal server and reinstall it again, I still got
the same error message. why ?
But funny thing is that I format my machine, then install window xp and
install System Portal Server 6 2005Q4 again, then it works for me again.
    is this reasonable ?
    I really don't know why ?
    Can someone help me ?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
It seems you are really asking how you should design your application to use portlets.
Your approach now seems to be that you would just copy your servlets to portlets. You can use the PortletRequestDispatcher to include content from your servlet. See http://portals.apache.org/pluto/multiproject/portlet-api/apidocs/javax/portlet/PortletRequestDispatcher.html
I also found the following discussion on this topic http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg00481.html
But I don't think I'd recommend that approach for your application. How would you maintain the application going forward? You will have both servlets and portlets to maintain when you change the applicaiton. I assume you will be keeping the servlet application and using it also? Do you want the portlet content to match the servlet content always, or will they display differently?
Instead, what you might consider an model-view-controller approach and designing a web service (the model) for both applications (servlet and portlet, views) to consume.
As for the basics of porlet applications, the JSPPortlet will use JSPs for presentation of hte portlet content. GenericPortlet is the default implementation of the Portlet interface. Implementing the portlet interface means you must write the implementation yourself. Here are a couple of good tutorials to get you started on the Portlet spec:
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-08-2003/jw-0801-portlet.html
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-09-2003/jw-0905-portlet2.html
Also there is this JSE tutorial, but I don't know how current it is:
    http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/portalserver/reference/techart/portlets.html
    Hope that helps.
