Sun L100 not starting

hi;
While starting, Sun L100 library is giving an error: CHK 262F. and hanging. it's a pysical error about X -Axis. what can i do for this ?
thanks.

It probably has a broken hardware component.
Contact Sun's techsupport and get repairs.
If there is coverage by a Service Contract, then it'll be taken care of.
If there isn't such coverage, then expect to pay for service.
By the way, your forum posting is slightly off-topic and outside the scope of this forum..
The L100 is a tape library.
http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Systems/L100/L100.html
It's a peripheral.
It's a storage peripheral.
This is a forum for servers, not for peripherals.
(There are at least two other forums where it may have been more suited.)

    I just had the same problem this morning. I believe the app server starts and if you browser directly to your app you'd get it, but the connection between the appserver and the IDE is somehow lost. An easier solution than completely reinstalling for me was to delete the .Creator folder in my home directory (C;|Documents and Setting\<username>\.Creator) and restart Creator

  • The Sun Java System Application Server could not start

    Hello All,
    I downloaded the Java Pet Store example from sun's website and followed the instructions for installation. After successful installation, I tried to deploy the project and gave the following error
    C:\Documents and Settings\sina\My Documents\Projects\services\nbproject\build-impl.xml:194: Deployment error:
    The Sun Java System Application Server could not start.
    More information about the cause is in the Server log file.
    Possible reasons include:
    - IDE timeout: refresh the server node to see if it's running now.
    - Port conflicts. (use netstat -a to detect possible port numbers already used by the operating system.)
    - Incorrect server configuration (domain.xml to be corrected manually)
    - Corrupted Deployed Applications preventing the server to start.(This can be seen in the server.log file. In this case, domain.xml needs to be modified).
    - Invalid installation location.
    See the server log for details.
    BUILD FAILED (total time: 5 minutes 20 seconds)
    The link above points to the following line in the build-impl.xml file
    <nbdeploy debugmode="false" forceRedeploy="${forceRedeploy}" clientUrlPart="${client.urlPart}" clientModuleUri="${client.module.uri}"/>
    Can any one help whats wrong.An early response will be highly appreciated.
    Kind Regards.
    Hasnain Javed.

    Hi,
    Maybe you already got this fix but here is a suggestion, a snippet from the readme index,html of the petstore download
    # Start the Sun Java System Application Server and the JavaDB database. To do so, open a command prompt and change directory to <javaeesdk.home>/bin and issue the following commands:
    asadmin start-database
    asadmin start-domain
    # Change directory to <petstore.home> and enter the following commands
    ant setup
    ant run
    This will setup, build and deploy the petstore on the application server, and then launch the application homepage in your default browser.
    The "ant setup" that you run from <petstore.home> (petstore.home is the directory where petstore is installed or where you unzipped it) will populate the database wth data and setup the proper database tables etc that are used by the application.
    hth,
    Sean

    The recommended way of starting the application server is to use asadmin command, for ex. <application-server-install-root>/bin/asadmin start-domain. The reason startserv hangs is because it is expecting some input which is automatically provided by the asadmin command.

  • Sun App Server 8.1 and 8.2 could not start

    Hi friends, thank for various suggestions. pls i'm having problem with Sun App Server 8.1 and 8.2. I installed Portal 7 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 and also Sun Portal 6 on Suse Linux 9. The problem is that App server keep giving Login exception after using them for a while. The details is given below:
    after typing ./asadmin start-domain --user admin domain1. Instead of it to give me the password prompt, it threw the following exception:
    INFO: SEC5046: Audit: Authentication refused for [admin]
    Login Failed javax.security. auth.login.LoginException: Failed file for login admin
    CL1156 could not start the domain domain1.
    I always login to the O/S as root.
    Any suggestion will be highly appreciated. Thanks

    Thanks very much kedar.mhaswade for your suggestions.
    I do not have a regular access to the Internet, I
    would have gotten back earlier than this, so i'm
    sorry. Anyway, i checked the content of
    ~/.asadminprefs and the password is not the same with
    the one i'm using. I found the default password
    supplied by Sun but I don't think this could be the
    problem. I'm actually using the App server that is
    bundled with Sun Portal 6 and 7 and so i supplied my
    own password during installation and i've logged in
    several times after installation. It just failed in
    one of those logins and had stopped working since. I
    always encountered the same problem either when using
    Sun Portal 7 or 6 on Red Hat ES 3 and Suse 9
    respectively.
    I'm posting the content of admin-keyfile as you
    requested:

    # Domain User and Password - Do Not Delete Entry
    Above
    So i will so much appreciate your help and i wouldn't
    mind if you could send me your phone number. Thanks.Hi tolulike,
    Even if you supplied your own password, we have this developer friendly
    feature that has side effects that are at times hard to diagnose. Can you
    please
    - rename the .asadminprefs file and make sure that there is no .asadminprefs file in your home directory?
    - attempt to start the domain.
    You should be prompted for the password.
    The idea is that when you've got that file and that entry AS_ADMIN_PASSWORD in your home directory, asadmin will read it
    from there and you land in this (unfortunate) situation.
    Obviously doing this might have some side effects with other domains. This
    is because for all domains, asadmin reads this file as a last resort. So,
    it might so happen that this file is actually required for functioning of your
    other domains.
    But now you know when this file is used, so there is no mystery (hopefully).
    Let me know if this works.
    Thank you.

  • Could not start Sun Java Application Server

    Hi ,
    I have been using JSC for a while, now and then it reports an error " could not start sun java application server...". Does any one know why it s not able to start java application server..
    Before you say anything, I have tried
    1. use netstat to find any port conflicts.
    2. Tried to start application server manually
    3. shut down and start studio creator and then try running the project
    4. shut down and start PC
    unfortunately none of them helped
    Only reinstalling resolved the problem. But I cant keep reinstalling very often.
    Does any one know the permanent solution for this problem.
    Cheers
    kush

    Sometimes it appears this is a timeout issue because it's taking too long to come up. As Jonathan says, undeploy can help with this (along with his other suggestions).
    How many deployed projects do you see (in the server navigator you can open up the deployed server and see what's out there)?
    I periodically undeploy "junk" projects that I'm not really using because they slow down the server startup (same thing happens I believe for tomcat... when the server starts it has to load them all and it takes awhile). You can undeploy from within the server navigator by drilling into the server nav and right clicking on the deployed app and choosing undeploy... or you can use the server admin tool.

  • SUN One Directory Service is not starting due to nspr4.dll

    Hi,
    I am using IBM WebSphere_Portal v5.0 configured with IBM DB2 v8.2,
    SUN ONE Directory server V5.2 and with Bussiness Objects Server V 6.5.1. And all thease servers are in the same node.
    And we updated SP2 and Monthly Hot fix No 10 on BO server
    After this fixes updation, we restarted the system. And when I am trying to
    restart the WAS and WPS, it was giving me an error like ADMU3011E: Server
    launched but failed initialization.
    When I checked with the log files, it shows authentication exception and as
    Ldap service was not started. When I tried to start the Ldap service
    manually it failed to start because nspr4.dll file was missing.
    Even after placing the nspr4.dll in the appropriate path also, it was not
    working.
    and it was giving me an error like "the ordinal 156 could not be located in the dynamic link library NSLDAP32V5.0.dll"
    and error:1053 service did not respond to the start or control request in timely fashion.
    Could any one help me in this regard
    Thanks in advance
    Sai Kumar

    This looks like multiple incompatible versions on NSS installed on the machine.
    On windows, with the current release of Java ES and its component, they can only be one version of NSS loaded at a time. If 2 products require different versions of NSS, there is an issue with starting one after the other.

    Ludovic.

  • Sun J2EE 1.4 Server domain could not start (org/apache/common/launcher/..)

    I am having problem with starting Sun J2EE Server 1.4. I had no problem with starting and stopping the server until today. I was not able to figure out what the problem is. I have tried reinstallation but did not work either. I also have reinstalled my J2SDK, but did not fix the problem. I am using J2SDK1.4.2_03 on Windows 2003 Server. Before the problem occured, I was working on a simple JMS applcation and trying to connect to J2EE server from a standalone JMS client at different machine. I am not sure what really caused the problem, but uninstalling it and reinstalling it does not change anything.
    Here is my error message when I do start-domain domain1 at asadmin mode:
    asadmin> start-domain domain1
    Starting Domain domain1, please wait.
    Log redirected to C:\Sun\AppServer\domains\domain1\logs\server.log.
    abnormal subprocess termination: Detailed Message:Error: org/apache/commons/launcher/LaunchFilter
    CLI156 Could not start the domain domain1.
    I have tried to start it by using startserv.bat at domain1 directory and also the desktop shortcut Start Default Domain. Nothing works. I'do apprecited it if you can share any ideas or suggestions regarding this issue.
    Thank you in advance.

    I made some changes to my enviroment variables and added jar files to the J2SDK <<J2SDK_HOME>>/jre/lib/ext folder in order to run the standalone JMS client.
    Here is my classpath settings:
    .;C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\j2ee.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\appserv-admin.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\appserv-rt.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\appserv-rt.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\appserv-ext.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\install\applications\jmsra\imq.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\install\applications\jmsra\imqadmin.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\install\applications\jmsra\imqjmsra.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\install\applications\jmsra\imqutil.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\imq\lib\fscontext.jar;C:\J2EE\tutorial\j2eetutorial14\examples\ejb\simplemessage\SimpleMSGAppClient.jar
    I also have added appserv-rt.jar, appserv-rt.jar, appserv-ext.jar, imq.jar, imqadmin.jar, imqjmsra.jar, and imqutil.jar in the <<J2SDK_HOME>>/jre/lib/ext/ folder. I know they were redundant but just wanted to make sure. Can any of these be causing the problem?
    Again, thank you and let me know if you need any other info.

  • Sun One Web Server instance not starting

    I have installed Sun One Web server 6.1. The administrator server is starting up. However, the instance of the web server through which I want to serve the web pages is not starting. Altough, there are no error messages that are shown when I am starting the server. Please help.

    I would check the logs directory for a PID file. It could be that there is a bogus pid file and when it tries to start you will get no error message. If there is a PID file delete it and try again.

  • My Macair11 will not start. White background, apple and a turning sun below. Hour after hour. What shall I do?

    my macair11 will not start. White background, an apple and a turning sun showing that it is on. But nothing more happens. What sall I do?

    Startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you should be able to access the built in utilities in OS X Recovery to repair the startup disk.
    Read before proceeding >   OS X: About OS X Recovery
    If it were a RAM (memory) issue, you would hear beeps instead of the startup chime.

  • Sun Java System Application Server8  could not start..using OSX

    I am having problems trying to run my application. When run the applicaiton it tries to deploy it but fails with a message that is could not start the applicaiton server. It suggests the fault could be port conflicts or corrupt domain.xml file.
    If I use a browser and goto localhost:18080 I see the applicaiton server seems to have started.....
    To be sure I have no port problems I shutdown all sharing services(FTP, Windows File Sharing etc.) Still not luck.....
    Ideas??

    Hi
    There are situations where appserver watchgog process might be running still even after shutting down the appserver process and sharing services.
    I experienced this few times and rebooted the machine to solve this. This may not be the best solution but try to reboot the machine.
    Thanks
