Sun Messaging Server - Filter based on Message Type

Hi,
Can I do the filtering based on the message type like Voice mail, text mail.. ?
and also can I filter the messages based on the user?

I am looking at filtering more so at the IMAP Level. I would like to only provide certain messages to clients using IMAP using Server Side filters based on message headers. There are no apis/interfaces to "filter" IMAP operations.
Please let me know if this possible. Also i would like to restrict IMAP access to certain users only. Is that possible ? You can restrict IMAP access by using the mailAllowedServiceAccess: attribute:

  • Web Server Filter Based SSO to Non-SAP Apps

    Hi,
    I am following SAP Note 442401 for configuring the Non-SAP App for Web Server Filter based SSO using SAP Logon Ticket. Also, I have downloaded the 5_0_2_8.zip file.
    The Readme doc of this zip file says:
    "<b>Changes in Web server filter plugins
    The Web server filter plug ins and the Ticket Toolkit now were separated.
    See subdirectories for further information:
    "C"          the Ticket Toolkit
    "filter"     the Web server filter plug ins
    This is the last released version (5.0.2.8) on SAPSERV.
    Pleaser refer for newer versions to SAP Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com/patches)
    Technology Components-> SAP SSOEXT -> SAP SSOEXT</b>"
    Zip file has two folders named "C" and "filter".
    "C" folder has cpp code to varify the ticket.
    "Filter" folder has DLLs for the different web servers.
    So far so good . Now, what I want to know is that is placing the  DLL from the Filter folder onto the respective web server and doing some configs, as per the PDF provided with ZIP file, enough?
    Or do I need to do anything else, like writing any class to read and validate the Ticket?
    Thanks,
    Vivek

  • Skinning af|messages background color based on error type

    Hi,
    I would like to skin background color of af|messages body depending on the message type. For example, if message raised is of type "Warning", I would like the af|messages body's background color to be yellow. If message raised is "Error", then I would like the background to be orange and if the message is of type "Info", then I would like background to be green.
    I wonder if this is possible and if any has any idea on how to achieve this would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • When I take my IPAD to another country and try send an e-mail to friends around the world or the country I am I her message - server can not relay message but I can receive without any problem. What is the fix? All settings are correct I have no problems

    When I move from country to country. I can not send / reply to e-mails. All account settings are the same as when I was at home where there is no problem. Receiving is also not a problem when out side my resident country, what is the answer?

    The easiest fix would be to just use safari and a webmail interface.
    For example, I have yahoo in my mail app. But on some internet connections it just won't work, so I use safari to get to yahoo.com and access my mail that way.
    Your mail provider should have a web interface and you could use that.

  • JES Messaging Server 6.0 will not accept mail alternate address

    JES Messaging Server 6.0 will not accept mail alternate address
    I have installed the Sun ONE Messaging server 6.0 as part of an evaluation of the Java Enterprise System. This was installed along with Directory Server 5.2 and Identity Server 6.1. During the installation I created a top level organization (o=internet) knowing that I would want to create multiple email domains within it and a default domain. After the installation was complete I used the User Management Utility (/opt/SUNWcomm/bin/commadmin) to create some users within the default domain. I provided each user with a primary email address ([email protected]) and an alternate email address (mailAleternateAddress = [email protected]).
    In testing the system I find that the Messaging Server will not accept messages sent to the alternate email address whether sent from the same server (via Messenger Express) or from an external server. It returns the error message: 550 5.1.1 unknown or illegal alias.
    In attempting to trouble shoot this problem I have watched the Directory Server's access log when such an email is sent. It shows a query using [email protected] even though the email message was sent to [email protected] In any event the DS finds the user, but the Messaging server rejects the message.
    [date_time] conn=120 op=11 msgId=12 - SRCH base="o=domain.com,o=internet" scope=2 filter="(mail=[email protected])" attrs="preferredLanguage mail mailEq
    uivalentAddress"
    [date_time] conn=120 op=11 msgId=12 - RESULT err=0 tag=101 nentries=1 etime=0
    [date_time] conn=120 op=12 msgId=13 - SRCH base="o=internet" scope=2 filter="(&(objectClass=sunManagedOrganization)(|(associatedDomain=host.domain.com)(sunPreferredDomain=host.domain.com)))" attrs=ALL
    [date_time] conn=120 op=12 msgId=13 - RESULT err=0 tag=101 nentries=0 etime=0
    Any suggestions to eliminate this problem would be appreciated.

    Both the primary and alternate email addresses are the same as the domain of the user.
    Here is what I want to do. Email is sent to a primary email server (not this machine). Mail for some users stays on that server to be read and mail for other users is moved to a geographically separate server (the one in question) by specifying that the mail be forwarded to the specific host: [email protected] > [email protected]
    On this second server I want to host two (or more) independent email domains. I do not want one of the domains to be a subdomain of the other. So during the installation I used o=internet as the root suffix and then used a different default domain (representing one of the registered internet domains). After installation I used the commadmin tool to create a second domain so now I have what looks something like this:
    o=internet,
    __ou=People
    __ou=Groups
    __o=domain1
    ____ou=People
    ____ou=Groups
    __o=domain2
    ____ou=People
    ____ou=Groups
    I then created some users under domain1 and some under domain2 so one user's dn is:
    uid=user, ou=people, o= domain1.com, o=internet.
    Mail sent locally to user@ domain1.com gets delivered correctly, but sending to [email protected] does not.
    host2.domain1.com is the fully qualified domain name of the server.

  • Changing message server port for ABAP+Java Instance

    Hi,
    We had change our message server port for the Java instance from 3607 to 3667.
    We did this using the j2ee config tool. We also verified this information through the console config.
    But when we look into system info URL using the URL as shown below,  we still that the old message server port is being used. We have recycled the instance couple of times , but does not seem to help.
    http://dfudsbw1.dfna.corp.dom:50700/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo
    Any ideas where else we have to change the port no. for the message server

    Hi guys,
    I solved this on my own with documentation help from SAP.
    I had to change the port no. in the Global dispatcher and Global server area as well.
    Please see details from SAP below.
    "Message Server: Changing Ports/Hosts shows which areas need to be adjusted if
    the port or host of the message server changes. Ports are, of course, changed in the
    instance profile of the Central Services instance. In the example, the port 3677 and
    the HTTP port 8177 have been set, and the new host is called twdfxxx. You need to
    use the Config Tool to set these values. For each instance, you need to maintain the
    corresponding values for the Message server host and Message server port on the
    Message Server and Bootstrap tab page. The connection details for dispatchers or
    servers to the message server are maintained in the Cluster Manager. As shown in the
    figure, the ms.host and ms.port are maintained, respectively, in the Cluster Manager
    with Global Dispatcher and the Global Server. After you have maintained all of the
    parameters, you can start the instances."

  • Web Dispatcher Connection to another host if Message Server not reached

    Hi Folks,
    Basically, the SAP Web dispatcher gets information which it needs for load distribution from the message server. If the message server is available the web dispatcher connects itself using the parameter rdisp/mshost.
    May i know if there is any parameter to enable connection to another host in case of e.g. a hardware failure and the message server is not able to receive any quests anymore from the web dispatcher?
    Regards,
    Collosis

    Hi,
    >May i know if there is any parameter to enable connection to another host in case of e.g. a >hardware failure and the message server is not able to receive any quests anymore from the web >dispatcher?
    There is no such parameter and it would not make any sense. There is only one Message server to connect to.
    If you need High availability you need to suppress the SPOFs.
    The Message server is one, the web dispatcher is another one.
    For this need, my CI and my web dispatcher are clusterised with MSCS.

    any idea??? Can I see another file? or log? I don't know what can we do..
    Thanks a lot!

    hi
    Since you are indeed working with the depreciation area for 'special reserve', the arithmatic for this derived depreciation area would be ideally tax depreciation area - book depreciation area.
    kindly confirm if this the arithmatic used for your depreciation area 03.
    if this is not the case please let me know the arithmatic used for the derived depreciation area 03.

  • Message server name ?

    Hi Guys,
    I have configured RFC receiver with load balancing and it is giving errors with respect to message server
    I have given message server name as he host name or it is is like SID+hostname ?
    Message server service = sapms+SID and Logon group = PUBLIC as in SMLG transaction.
    I have doubt about the attributes i need to set for Logon group and what shld be server name or shld i give the ip address ?
    any help would be appreciated
    Thanks,
    srini

    Srinivas,
    Message Server : It would be your application server name or host name to which you are connecting.
    Message Server Service : Check with your basis for this
    System ID : It would be the SID of the system. It is of 3 letters.
    Logon Group : Since you are using Load Balancing check with your basis through which logon group you want to connect.

  • Messaging Server: Using UBE feature to filter email bodies or enclosures

    Using the UBE feature in Messaging Server to filter email bodies or enclosures
    <P>
    Messaging Server has a feature for filtering unsolicted bulk email(UBE) based
    on the envelope information (e.g., the sender's host name ). When the
    Parse Headers option is enabled,
    filtering by header information (e.g., the subject line of the email) is
    performed as well.
    <P>
    The UBE feature is a plug-in that is designed to work with structured header
    lines. However, the application of this feature to email bodies is limited.
    To filter email bodies, the RUN
    action can be used to send a selected
    email to an external program, such as VirusScan.exe
    . For more information on the
    RUN action, see the Netscape
    Messaging Server 3.5 Administrator's Guide at<BR>
    <P>
    http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/messaging/nms35/ag/ch5.htm#actions
    <B>RUN</B><BR>
    <P>
    Argument:<BR>
    A command line to execute.
    <P>
    Description:<BR>
    The RUN action provides
    a means of extending the filtering actions of the UBE filter by running another
    program. The program must be in the postoffice (spool) directory for security
    reasons. After executing the program, the UBE filter pipes the header and the
    body of the email to the program for processing. In addition, you can use the
    special field name $& in
    subsequent filters to match the return value of the program. For example,<BR>
    <P>
    Subject "May contain a virus" RUN "VirusScan.exe"
    $& "1" REJECT "This had a virus"
    <P>
    If there is an email with the subject line "May contain a virus," the filter
    will run the virus program VirusScan.exe
    and send the entire email to this
    program. If the return value from the virus program is "1," then the filter
    will reject the email with the reason "This had a virus
    Several customers have reported problems with the UBE feature failing to
    filter emails using the Content-Type
    or Content-Disposition
    lines. The reason why the UBE feature
    fails with these lines is because they are header style lines that appear in
    the email bodies as part of the MIME formatted body. The UBE feature does not
    filter emails using these header lines, as it checks only the envelope and
    header fields. To target the Content-Type
    or Content-Disposition
    lines, use the RUN
    action with a reference to an
    external program. The following lines are examples of header style lines that
    can be targetted with a RUN
    UBE command:<BR>
    <P>
    Content-Type: application/octet-stream;^M
    name="LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs"^M
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable^M
    Content-Disposition: attachment;^M
    filename="LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs"^M
    <P>
    <B>Please note:</B><BR>
    <P>
    Messaging Server 4.0 does not support the RUN
    action in the implementation of
    the UBE feature. This change is also documented in the release notes for all
    subsequent releases of Messaging Server.
    <P>
    For more information on using UBE filters, please see technote 20000506-1,
    "I Love You" Virus, article 4355.

    RUN is also not available in NMS 4.15 or any NMS 4.x version.
    You can however integrate a virus scanner into iMS 5.1 via the conversion channel.
    If upgrading is not an option you should consider using a virus scanner that masquerades as a smtp server and forwards scanned messages to the real server.

  • Error message when deploying war file to sun web server 6.1

    i've been trying to deploy an application developed locally in tomcat to a local install of sun web server 6.1, and can't seem to get it to work. the error message i am getting now is:

    any ideas? anyone?

    I deployed the application using a WAR file I created and the Server Manager.
    I've been able to get a JSP running in the $INSTALL_DIR/docs directory (database connectivity, result set printing, session data storing) but not outside of there.
    I switched to "finest" error reporting, but that isn't really helping much either.

  • Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-0.15 outgoing mail issue

    Hi,
    We are running Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-0.15 (built Feb  9 2007).
    with this java code if i change  email.setFrom(SenderEmial);   to any other email address than the mail server will send email form that email instead of authenticated which is a problem for us so that any one can misuse it. i need help regarding this issue.I think its due to lack of SSL security so i want to know that how i can enable SSL.
      Email email = new SimpleEmail();
        email.setSmtpPort(25);
        email.setAuthenticator(new DefaultAuthenticator("[email protected]","myPass"));
        email.setDebug(false);
        email.setHostName("mail.sunjavamail.com");
        email.setFrom(SenderEmial);  //By changing this my mail server is sending emails from any email address.
        email.setSubject("Hi");
        email.setMsg("Test Mail");
        email.addTo("[email protected]");
          // email.setTLS(true);
       // email.setSSL(true);
        email.send();
        System.out.println("Done");
    Thanks..

    Hi,
    I do not think this is unusual.  Out of the box there are no restrictions on From: addresses, they're not required to match the domain of the sender or match up with DNS results.  You can configure various restrictions or even modify the from address based on the users authenticated credentials, but not by default.
    See the following documentation for details on restricting From: addresses:
