Sun ONE 4 hangs during installation....any ideas??
Hi,
i have installed JDK 1.4 on Windows Me OS. I did shut down and restart the computer. Now I am trying to install Sun ONE Studio 4 update 1, Community Edition. The installation process begins but then freezes at the point where the dialog box says:
"Searching for suitable Java SDK. Please Wait..."
I let it run all night only to wake up to the same thing on the screen 6 hours later!
Any ideas on the cause/solution?
Thanks.
Where exactly did you install the JDK ?
THe path to the JDK must not contain any blank spaces (so for examle C:\Program Files\... is not a suitable location) otherwise you may have trouble getting it to work.

Hey Dears, I was working with my Macbook pro 2011, then i have some flash light in the screen, so i shutdown the computer, when i try to open it again i had a black screen, so any one of you have any idea about what should i have to do ?
Can you start Firefox in [[Safe mode]] ?
You can also do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can initially skip the step to create a new profile, that may not necessary for this issue.

Is there any error code when user access their mailbox on OWA. Please confirm if there is no results returned in EMS when you run Get-OWAVirtualDirectory cmdlet. Also check whether there is any Event Logs related to OWA in Exchange.
In IIS manager, make sure the OWA virtual directory is listed in the Default Web Site. In EMC, we can navigate to Server Configuration > Client Access, select server and turn to Outlook Web App tab. Then we can click Reset Virtual Directory in the right
Actions pane to reset OWA virtual directory.
Additionally, please restart IIS service by running iisreset /noforce from a Command Prompt window.

Mac OSX Installer Hangs During Installation
Macbook Pro 15"
Core 2 Duo 2.53Ghz
4Gb RAM
9400M
Erased Hard Disk,
Boot from CD
Mac OSX installer hangs during installation
Time remaining remains the same for >3 hours
After clicking get spinny beachball cursor.
What should I do?
Thanks. The installer may actually not be hunging, in my installation on Win XP, I have seen it "pause" at this point for 5 min or more before continuing with the installation to a successful completion, I did not try to do anything to assist it. Try giving it more time and see what happens.

10.5.3 hangs on "configuring installation" - any ideas please?
Have a MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo.
Downloaded the 10.5.3 upgrade to Leopard, restarted, (3 times now) and watch the installer hang at "configuring installation".
Any ideas please? We had the same problem with updating one of our G5s. However, after selecting the install and quit button the computer froze up. Now, we can't get the computer to boot up AT ALL. It hangs at the grey screen with the apple and rotating gear. But nothing after that. I have been successful only once to get it to boot up in safe mode, but can't since then.
These are the things I have tried:
Replaced the internal battery
Tried to start up holding down shift key (safe mode)
Booted up on the eDrive that Tech Tools created and ran all the diagnostics (nothing)
Ran Disk Utility: When verifying permissions it came up with a few errors, but didn't fix any of them. Said that the disk (harddrive) couldn't be "unmounted" therefor couldn't fix anything.

Dear all,
Solaris 10 x86 6/06 installation on Magic-Pro MP-P6PE-1000

I have tried on PC and VMware 5.5.1, but fail the installation.
Moreover, I have tried append "-kd" at "kernal ...cdrom" in GRUB edit mode, and then boot the system.
type "use_mp/W 0 :c"
But it still hang at:

hang!!
I've also try disable/enable ACPI, but no success.
Have any ideas?
Thanks!Try to boot the kernel with the "-v" option, any maybe even set
"moddebug to 80000000", so that we can get a better idea
where it is hanging.

Sun ONE Studio vs. NetBeans IDE 3.5
Now that IBM's VisualAge for Java is dead, I have been looking for a replacement IDE. I have been totally frusturated by the lack of basic information on IBM's Websphere -- their own specialists had a hard time answering elementary questions -- and the "upgrade" for VA 4, which cost $100 originally, could be $1000 to $3500 depending on what piece of Websphere you get.
Well, so I looked at Sun ONE Studio 5.0 -- then noticed that SDK 1.4.2 was out (i had the beta). I'm doing the trial period of ONE Studio, then I get NetBeans 3.5 as part of the SDK download. NetBeans is FREE and Sun ONE Studio 5.0 is $695, and "based on NetBeans."
"Based on?" Looking at NetBeans 3.5 IDE, I don't see what Studio offers that you don't get in NetBeans. Is there any paper or comparison anybody has written comparing the two packages?
Both are great pieces of software, but what do I pay $695 for?you got integration with more wizards, deployment tools and application server for both J2SE & J2EE development.
But it's a real shame and even scandal that this tool becomes commercial and so expensive.
So now, you don't have the choice and you have to pay for the Sun branded tool ! (except the J2ME one)
I had the weakness to believe that Sun and its Java wanted to have a important place in the open source or at least free software world !(clearly, it's the future ). But this aggressive(695$ !!!) commercial U-turn awakes me from my dream.
That's it for now, I return on my beloved Eclipse Platform and its plugins, digusted ... -
TP tool hangs during installation of PI_BASIS Patch 6
Hello everyone,
I'm facing the problem that I can't get the PI_BASIS Patch (SAPKIPYJ76) installed (on MySAP ERP 2005 on SLES 9). It still does not go on in the phase 'IMPORT_PROPER'. In SM50 the process is in status "On Hold", reason "RFC". There is no error in the regarding logs, and the CPU utilization is near to 0% when no other user is logged in. I have searched through Sapnet and this forum, but couldn't get a hint to solve the problem.
I would be very glad when anybody could help me.
Regards,
ChristianHi Mike (and everyone else),
i could reproduce the error. When the installation hangs in phase DDIC_ACTIVATION, I can cancel the following work process in SM66:
Work process no. 6
Type BTC
Process ID 8087
Status stopped
Reason for waiting CPIC
Restart Yes
Terminations 1
Waiting for semaphore
When i now cancel the BGD process in SM50, too, the installation will continue normally.
Have you any idea what the reason is?
Best regards,
Christian -

Process: AppleSpell [335]
Path: /System/Library/Services/AppleSpell.service/CI have this problem too. I installed Pages 5 when it was initially released and it functioned perfectly. Everything was working, even printing. Then after several system & Pages updates the printing began to hang.
At first Pages 5.1 would hang as soon as print was selected. But for the last month I have been able to get to the print window, but as soon as I select my printer (a networked printer) it hangs. Each time I have no alternative but to "Force Quit."
I still have Pages 4.3 installed and it still prints with absolutely no problems. All other apps print just fine with the exception of Safari. I began to have issues with it at the same time, and I've had to switch to another browser.
I would love to get this problem fixed so I can use these apps. Anybody got any ideas? -

I'm trying to download Sun One Directory 5.2 for LINUX box.

Does anyone knows from where can i get the installable's? or some other link where i can find the installers.
Thanking you in advance,

Praveen Hanchate.Hi Praveen,
All downloads need to go through the Product Selection wizard : http://www.sun.com/software/products/directory_srvr_ee/get1.jsp
The most recent full distribution for Directory Server 5.2 is 5.2patch4.
If you select 5.2patch6, you will be proposed to download the patch and the previous complete release.
The release latest version of Directory Server is DS 6.2 which can be downloaded selecting the Directory Server Enterprise Edition 6.x component.

OSX Tiger install hangs on CD1 - any ideas?
I'm trying to reinstall Tiger on my 15" tiBook. I am using a set of retail CDs which I know are working as I used them to rebuild a G4 iBook last night.
However, on the first reboot after starting the install, the machine hangs shortly after starting up, on a plain blue screen with no cursor and no disk activity.
I have removed startup items, uninstalled Norton AV and zapped the PRAM, but still no joy.
Any ideas what I can do? My product is still within its free support period, is it worth phoning Apple about this as I'm at a loss and really nede the machine up and running today??
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike.Hi,
The machine does seem to recognise the Tiger disk, so pressing C means that the same thing happens. After a minute or so, I get a blue screen and can go no further.
I called Apple, but they want to charge me to diagnose the problem as according to them, it could be a software fault and therefore not covered under my warranty. Not sure what to do really, I'm loathe to pay Apple when all I'm trying to do is install Tiger and its failing at such an early point in the install.

In iOS8 can I disable text quick reply?
When someone texts me and it pops up on my screen and I hit reply, it doesn't take me to the message app and instead just has me type it out and send in whatever other app I'm currently using. Is there a way to turn this off so that when I reply to a
