Sun ONE UDS and Windows 7

I am getting this error when I try to install Sun ONE UDS 5213 on Windows 7 " This Windows NT system does not have TCP/IP installed. Please install the TCP/IP package before installing Sun ONE UDS". Then I edited the registry, then I now started getting this error " Setup is unable to decompress and copy all the program files needed to proceed with the installation. Contact your software vendor. Error 112. Please help I need to run UDS on Win7.

Finally we found the problem!!.
With Process Monitor (Thanks to the greath Mark Russinovich) we monitored ftexec process and when we get the errors the ftexec ends with code 0xC0000425 that mean STATUS_HIVE_UNLOADED
Windows 2008 have a new built-in feature named UPHClean used to clean-up user information in registry when user logoff, but for some reason windows clean the complete user hive in HKU. We disabled this feature and now works ok :-)

Hello i'm not a Sun ONE expert. Our development department trying to use SUN ONE UDS in Windows 2008. All works fine but before 30 min we get this errors:

Sun ONE UDS 5.2.5 or EAI or IS or Sun One Studio 8 - Download

Hi Experts,
I am looking for *"Sun ONE UDS 5.2.5 for Windows 2003/XP/2000"* software to be downloaded as one the zip file in our existing project got corrupted. (UDS = Unified Development Server)
This is also called IS = Integration Server, EAI = Enterprise Application Integration and Sun ONE Studio 8.
Can anybody help me in this subject pls...?

Sun ONE Studio 8 was a program development suite for C, C++, and Fortran. It is no longer available. The current versions are Sun Studio 11 and Sun Studio 12. (The "ONE" has been dropped from the product name.)
In any case, Sun Studio 8 was provided only on Solaris, never on Windows. Sun Studio 12 is also provided on Linux, but still not on Windows.

OK. Start with:
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to two (2). Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Click on the Erase tab in DU's main window. Select one of the two partitions, preferably the first one, change the Format type: to MSDOS then click on the Erase button.

is there any difference between refreshing the java virtual memory between sun solaris 8 and windows.i am fetching 25 records for every search action.in windows usage of java virual memory is 5 mb after every search it refreshes the memory.while using the same code in sun solaris 8 it throws heap out of memory error and for every search it wont refresh the memory.

Sun One Webserver and JSP 2.0

I have a customer running Sun One Webserver v 6.1 (newest) and I have no experience using that server. We are writing some JSP pages, and I am hoping to use JSP 2.0. It appears from what I have read that only JSP 1.2 is supported. Is that correct, or is there any way to use JSP 2 with the Sun One server.
Any help greatly appreciated, I'm a total newbie to this server.

Well, I don't have any problem running jsp pages on this server, just wanted to know if the server supports jsp 2.0 or if there is a way to add that support.
What problems are you having getting your jsp files to run. I just moved some over from a tomcat install and they work fine. Had to modify the classpath in server.xml, etc, to pick up some jars for jdbc, but basically no problem with jsp.
I'm kind of surprised that if this is the newest version of the Sun Web Server that it does not support jsp 2.0 out of the box. It's not exactly a new spec.

Integrate Sun ONE Messaging and Sun ONE Calendar server with Portal 6.0

We need to integrate (implement a Single Sign On solution) Sun ONE/iPlanet Messaging and Calendar servers with Portal 6.0. The Msg and Cal. servers do not use Portal Profile server as their DS and have a different DS.This directory server is the external DS for Portal. After users login to Portal, they should be able to access Msg and Cal. servers without login to them again.
1. How do we do this without writing a java code/servlet ?
2. Is there any way that we could configure DSAME to create the URL,add userID and password to it and forward that URL to above servers ?

are enabling SSO for messaging and calendar servers.

Sun One AS7 and Norton Internet Security (Personal Firewall)

Hello,
I have installed:
- XP Home Edition Version 2002 SP1
- Norton Internet Security Version 6.0.4.34 (Personal Firewall)
- Sun One Application Server 7, Platform Edition
When Personal Firewall is running I get:
Could not start the instance: domain1:admin-server
server failed to start: abnormal subprocess termination

server failed to start: abnormal subprocess termination

Could not start one or more domains

I've read the release notes:
- changed port numbers
- modified the firewall policy
and still experience the same problem.
When Personal Firewall is not running it works.
I guess I can just turn off my firewall when I evaluate this product.
I was wondering if anyone who has experienced and solved this problem
could lend a hand.

Uninstalling Sun Virtual Box and Windows 7 from Macbook Pro?

Hi everyone!
Can anyone tell me how to properly UN-install Sun's Virtual Box and Windows 7 Beta from my Macbook Pro so I can reinstall Windows 7 Beta thru Boot Camp?
I recently installed Sun's Virtual Box and Windows 7 Beta on my Macbook Pro. It works fine, but there are some things about Virtual Box I am not happy with. I'm told that uninstalling both Windows 7 and Virtual Box and reinstalling Windows 7 through Boot Camp will be better for what I want and Windows 7 will run much better that way.

While Win7 is not supported, for many users, that's not important.
When I installed Vista Ultimate 64-bit on this MBP, it was not supported and I installed it under Tiger and a beta of BootCamp! It still works. Experimenting is fun and a great learning experience.
Just be sure you have a viable backup - SuperDuper!, CCC or TM before installing BootCamp and Win7 and you always have a path for a recovery should anything go wrong.

Sun One Server in Windows

I installed Sun one server in NT machine and tried creating a port. It is not providing the support for Servlets directory whereas iPlanet 4.1 provides it by means of giving a style "ServeltByExtn" while creating the additinal direcctories. How can it be done?

Are you sure you would like to use server grade software running over a toy OS?

Iplanet/sun one 6 and redhat 8

Has anyone been able to migrate to RedHat Linux 8.0 on a server that already has Sun One 6 installed? My web server is currently running 7.1, but that's no longer supported by RH. I'd like to go ahead and move it to something newer. I have the installation media for 7.3 and 8.0.

Trouble with Sun One 7 and JAAS

I've been having a trouble with JAAS and Sun One 7:
- An user1 logins at application and then, open an authorized page;
- After x minutes (expressed in session-config web.xml tag), login page is automatically loaded;
- At this time, an user2 (with another profile) logins in the same app, after expired session from user1.
So, what's happening? User2 can access the same page User1 had accessed, but User2 is more restrictive than User1, so, he couldn't access the resource.
Please, help me, I don't know what to do.

If you want to send messages around an application using the embedded S1MQ message broker, the trick is that -- in general -- you must create the message destinations on the broker as a separate step from configuring the appserver. Then you tell the appserver how to bind a JNDI name to the destination on the broker. To create the destination on the broker, you can use the imqadmin tool (which is part of the message broker, and not the appserver). You can create both queues and topics this way. Let's suppose you created a queue called `fred'. Then you need to bind a JNDI name to this queue on the appserver.:
asadmin create-jms-resource user admin password somepassword resourcetype javax.jms.Queue property imqDestinationName=fred jms/fred
Then in the application server code you can get to the message queue by looking up `jms/fred' (strictly speaking, you should look up a java:comp/env name which you bind to jms/fred in your deployment descriptor, but that's another matter).
You'll need to do the same thing for the queue connection factory: create it using imqadmin, then bind it using asadmin.
You can do the asadmin stuff instead using the web-based admin console, but you can't (so far as I know) create the actual destinations on the broker this way.
I hope this helps. If it doesn't, copies of the relevant error message -- in full -- would help me.

I find it's a nightmare to deploy the EJB/ application to the WebLogic 6.1.
I've already installed the weblogic plug-in in the Sun One Studio.
During deploying I could not find any setting that ask me for the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml.
So I think the deployment will fail.
Is there any others tutorial or e-book that can help me to familiar with the deployment
process?
